Ryan, fast and awesome

Friday October 22, 2021 my half bathroom flooded into the laundry room, Ryan came out that same day and saved us, he was honest and even earlier than told. Ryan explained what he did and that it may or may not fix the issue. Well Monday happens and it happened again, he (Ryan) came back out in the rain earlier than told again and bless his heart for saving the day again. We believe the issue has been resolved and we will continue to use Drain Masters for our plumbing needs. Thank you so much Ryan and hope you have/had a great birthday.

The technician was Ryan. He came out on a Sunday holiday weekend . Showed up with in an hour of my first call. Determined the problem and the repair. Once he was able to find the parts a new appointment was set.

I had no hot water. Called on Monday, they came out the same day and Ryan correctly diagnosed which parts needed replacement. He came back the very next day at 8:00AM and completed the repair before 9:30AM. WOW! My heater is in the attic , this was in the middle of July and Ryan never complained about how hot it must have been up there. He was professional, extremely knowledgeable , so friendly and cleaned up before he left. I have always used Drain Masters because they are fast, reasonable priced and their customer service is top notch

The technician educated us on how the problem occurred to prevent it from happening again. He also advised us in how to troubleshoot the issue independently prior to requesting service. Ryan was scheduled to come out to my home to repair our tub because it would not drain. One I received a notification that he was on his way. Once he arrived he was very polite introduced himself and started to work. I don’t know what was going on with the tub but Ryan repaired it and it’s draining just fine now. On a Sunday evening we came in from working in the yard and the downstairs was flooded. Water was pouring out of the bathroom toilet and the valve to shut it off broke off. Ryan from Drain Masters was at the house in under 45min and helped us repair the valve, snake the toilet, unclog the pipe and restore water to the rest of the house. They are professional, considerate, and they obviously love what they do! Thank you for coming to the rescue!!!!

I called Drain Masters Plumbing for the first time about a year ago. We had a pipe under our house collapse and need to have our living room and foyer dug up. It was such a horrible thing to happen but I’m am so glad we choose them. Mike and John came out and did the work. The two of them are Awesome. They are professional, reliable, and punctual and the quality of their work is beyond anything I have seen before. They worked hard to get everything done as quickly as possible so that we could go back to our normal lives. In addition, I had some other issues this year when a contractor messed up and caused me to have to call them again. I had the same great experience. After some bad experiences with contractors this is the only company I trust to get the job done right the first time. They also stand behind their work. The contractors that I have dealt with recently do not have the same work ethic. Drain Masters Plumbing is the only company I will call for my plumbing needs. Mike showed up to my property with a camera to diagnose a sewer line collapse. He was very professional and unbelievably knowledgeable. In combination with his camera he used a fancy locater that literally pinpointed the exact location of the failure. Mike and the rest of the drain masters team will be my first recommendation to folks, especially if they have a complicated issue like I have.

Ryan came by to fix a leak underneath our kitchen sink and was in and out in no time! very nice guy!

I have worked with Drain Master plumbing on multiple occasions at my dental office and my home. At the office they’ve helped replace faucets, checked backflow devices, and routine maintenance. In my home they’ve helped find leaks in my shower, replaced faucets, water heaters, and maintenance with my toilets. One time they recommend a water heater to be replaced. When they were replacing it, he was spot on because it was about to burst. Had it not been for Mike giving me that recommendation to have my water heater replaced every ten years, I would’ve had a big nightmare with flooding throughout the house.
I didn’t realize the base of hot water heaters corrode over time and should be changed at least every ten years! It made sense.

They’ve always been professional, knowledgeable, and prompt with the appointments. They have competitive rates, but what amazed me is he didn’t charge me more for after hour and emergency visits! My tech today was John Vincent. When he was on his way to my home he sent me a message letting me know that he was on his way. We he arrived I opened my door and he was smiling thru his face mask and asked me what I broke this time. We both laughed which automatically made me relax. (You never know how a technician will be with you) I showed him my half bath and explained what was going on. He went right to work and when he was done asked me for a rag so he could clean the water up that had gotten on the floor. It was really nice that he cleaned up behind himself. I have had technicians that left the trash for me to pick up. If I have another issue with my plumbing in my house I most definitely will call Drain Masters an request him if that is allowed. He was really nice and knew what he was doing.

My hot water handle on my shower stopped working, and my landlord called Drain Masters to fix it... not only did the plumber show up promptly the next morning and quickly fixed the problem, but he also noticed my sink was backing up and fixed it while he was in there!

Called them for a second opinion after getting a quote from another company. The issue was a leak underground that snowballed into an even bigger project than anticipated. These folks are venders of our Property Managers and I would avoid them. They came out to our duplex in downtown Portsmouth on Monday, 12 DEC to look at a shower/bath that was not producing water -- all other sinks and faucets worked. Our tenant told them there was work being done to the downstairs unit. The tech went downstairs to check the unit and saw that the remodeling was way past completion and that all plumbing was in working order. They blamed our contractor and left without actually diagnosing the problem. Come to find out a cartridge in the shower needs to be replaced. Our tenants have been without an operating shower/bath since last Friday when they put the request in -- when have tenants ever been right on maintenance issues? Fire that tech.

The associate we dealt with, Ryan, was contracted to examine a leaking water heater by our home warranty company. While the warranty company declined to cover the replacement because of a missing, non-required part, (not Ryan or Drain Masters’ fault by any means), he was pleasant, knowledgeable and professional. A very unapologetic and selfish company. They have a really nice receptionist and that’s the only positive thing I can say. Technician came and diagnosed my water heater valve as being faulty. He said they will have to order a part and return. Days go by and no one calls me to schedule a return appointment. I called and left a message and no return call. I finally call again yesterday and the receptionist answers and quickly sets about trying to figure out what happen. She apologizes and says somehow I fell through the cracks. She’s not sure what happened, but the part was at Lowe’s ready to be picked up. So she made some phone calls and got me scheduled in for today from 12-4 since I expressed 11 days without hot water in this weather is a lot. I’ve been boiling water and filling buckets up, just so my 3 kids and I can shower. Which is dangerous as well.
I leave work early to make my appointment and 4 o’clock rolls around and no plumber. I called and they said they were just about to call me. Turns out whirlpool sent the wrong part. That I was going to have to wait 7-10 business days unless I wanted to pay the 30-35 dollars to have it overnight. Also that it was so late in the day that they couldn’t overnight it till tomorrow. The lady(I presume office manager) was unapologetic and refusing to acknowledge their mishandling of the situation. If I wouldn’t have been forgotten about, they would of found out last week that it was the wrong part and place the correct one on order. I would of had hot water today. To not call at all even after your 12-4 window to inform me they weren’t coming is also poor business practice. That’s time away from work. They refuse to pay for the overnight shipping, despite letting me “fall through the cracks.” I’m a pretty forgiving person, we all make mistakes. But to not try and provide a solution to your customers which you have wronged in 3 occasions is just poor. I’m a single working mom of 3 kids, who pays her hard earned money to have a working water heater. To just dismiss me as my business doesn’t matter because it’s handled through an insurance company is bad form. To not make amends for your mistakes is bad form. To waste customers time and not return their calls is unacceptable. I do not recommend this company, and I will make sure my insurance company addresses this situation, henceforth.

My downstairs neighbor had knocked on my door saying water was leaking into her condo unit. Ryan showed up and nearly instantly spotted the issue. He was able to explain the issue, describe what he needed to do, and then gave me an affordable quote. Repair for the leak was done right then and there. I had Drain Masters come out for an estimate to replace a water heater in a single story ranch home. The technician, Ryan, showed up right at 8 in the morning which was great. He looked everything over and generated an estimate in about 10 minutes or so. Ryan was very professional and polite throughout the job.

The only issue I had with the job was the estimate (price) of the job. The national average for water heater replacement is about $1200 with a price range of $800-1600. So I expected an estimate somewhere in this range. The estimate, and price we paid, was over the high end of national range at $1750. This install really couldn’t have been any simpler… 20 feet from the front door in a one level home with nothing complicated in the plumbing.

Ryan did an excellent job, the quality was great. I have no complaints of the job itself or the technician. I would probably just recommend, if you have the time, to get a couple of estimates to compare. My whole point in calling Drain Masters was to give business to a smaller, more local business than the big boys of Michael & Sons or the businesses that are blasted in marketing all over the place, and in the end I am still happy to do that.

So bottom line… excellent quality of work and professionalism… price a little on the high side… yes I would recommend this company still.

Tyler and his teammate were AMAZING. They came out just to do a sonar test to find the leak in my main water line. They showed up within the apt window and not only found the leak in 2 spots, but immediately jack hammered my driveway and repaired them both, ON TOP OF identifying the source of a leak I had in my 1st floor bathroom and fixed that too! Thank you guys so much! Pricing was also reasonable!

Bar none, Mike Jefferson is the most honest plumber I have ever met. Earlier today, Christmas day, water was floooding from under my house and pouring across my driveway. Call Drain Masters Plumbing, Mike arrives at 9:30 PM, investigates, comes out from under the house and shows a me video. He then turns a valve, cuts off water to the sprinkler system, verifies the isolation of the leak and that the water to the house is good to go. The sprinkler leak can be fixed in the spring. The charge--he humbly says, I'm not to going to charge you anything--Merry Christmas! Highest rating possible--BZ Mike! Honesty and professionalism are alive and well at Drain Masters!

I never realized how important water was. I couldn’t shower or brush my teeth. Drain masters came to the rescue. Thanks to Jared and Ryan I can finally flush my toilets! Ryan came by our office; he was professional and fixed our issue quickly.

John Vincent with Drain Masters isolated and fixed our issue in less than 30 minutes. Our main AC drain to the sewer was clogged. He tried snaking the main access to the drain pipe but it wouldn't budge. He put some muscle into unscrewing the secondary access to the drain and was able to snake out the clog with ease.

John was also very professional in keeping us safe by wearing his mask at all times!

We would definitely use their service again.

It was our worst nightmare, a leak coming from somewhere and our house is on a slab foundation. We contacted the warranty company who sent out a company that could not perform leak detection and was a wasted trip. Next phone call to the warranty company and they put us in contact with Drain Masters, a locally owned and operated business. Beth contacted us to set up the initial appointment and was extremely professional, courteous, and understanding of our concerns. The owner, Mike Jefferson, performed the leak test and within 30 seconds, identified where the leak was. I am not kidding it took 30 seconds! The leak was found on Thursday, Mike came back two days later on Saturday, and we were prepared to have our slab jackhammered to get to and fix the leak. Once Mike arrived, we spoke a few minutes about the symptoms we experienced during the week of turning the water off and on because of the leak. Mike cut a hole in the drywall, which would be replaced anyway, and found the leak. Mike saved us over $1200 because he listened, and cares about his customers. Drain Masters will be our go-to company for any plumbing issues in the future. We highly recommend this company for its honesty, integrity, availability, and professionalism!!

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH DRAIN MASTERS PLUMBING & DRAIN!! Never in my life have I EVER had to deal with an unprofessional, inconsiderate, lack of compassion and human kindness from a business and I am a Verizon customers. Something I thought so simple as replacing a broken knob on a shower faucet has left me and my family without water over a holiday weekend! It looks like the knob was replaced with SUPER GLUE but they told my home warranty company that they had replaced all the parts. My oldest son took a shower and the knob broke! The water would not turn off. They told my son they would call me to let me know what happened...NO CALL! I got home 3-hours later and the running was still running. I called their office and the receptionist had no idea that the knob had broken off and the water was running. She said she would have the repairman come back out...he called me and said if he came back, I would have to pay him $325 bcos my home warranty company would not authorize the repair. I called them to explain what was going on and letting them know that the repairman said he would come back and turn the water off, but he would have to turn if off through out the house!! WHO DOES THAT?!? My home warranty company was willing to have it repaired, but they just turned the water off and left!! Why would you leave a family WITHOUT WATER...when all you had to do was repair the knob so we could at least turn the water off!! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!

We were panicked when our upstairs shower began leaking through our downstairs ceiling. In fewer than 24 hours Ryan from Drain Masters came to the house, fixed the leak and restored peace of mind! We were so thankful to have his service. And bonus points for Ryan being a dog lover and for leaving us some cute bottle koozies. 5 stars for sure!

This company provides a great service! Ryan came to repair our sink that was constantly dripping. What I can add is that Ryan doesn’t just repair a problem. Rather, he educates customers as to how these issues may have arisen, and how to prevent them in the future.

I’d have surely asked more questions if he hadn't finished my repairs with the speed and efficiency of a Formula 1 pit crew, but he also left a card and encouraged me to reach out at any time for follow-up questions or concerns.
