A sales person was not able to help us and told us to go stand in another line. Was told to go back to the original sales person to get help. Did a special order that would take 3 weeks to arrive. We cancelled the order 4 days after we placed the order but they didn’t give us the refund for shipping costs.

I'd give them a zero if I could, they installed the wrong size, so it doesn't fill my parents new Senior bathtub. My elder parents trusted this professional business to put in the one they needed for the tub. They got ripped off. Instead of putting in the right one, after we complained right away that the water was cold after 1/2 bathtub full, they wanted to charge for another hot water heater. He said too bad we can't take back the first one. First one was $1,000.00. Manager in Hot Water department doesn't care, not helpful at all. DON'T SHOP HERE!!! On to the Better Business Bureau.

I called George Morlan and a woman answered. She asked me several questions(make, model, how old). I explained that my water in my water heater wasn’t heating. That I tried to follow the instructions to ignite the flame. I explained that I followed the instructions but since I hadn’t done it before I felt uncertain. There was no flame and perhaps it was the igniter switch. She told me I should get a new one. I explained I wanted to have somebody take a look at it first. She told me a service call would cost around $200.00. I told her that was fine. She asked me if I wanted to have somebody come out to just tell me I need a new water heater for $200. I told her I’d feel better knowing what was wrong. She then told me that she would not send somebody. I reminded her she just told me what a service call would cost $200.00. She said she didn’t care and that she can refuse service to me if she wanted to. It seemed obvious to me that my initial business didn’t have enough promise(in the way of dollars). At minimum she was absolutely not interested in helping me. And when I made my understanding clear to her she agreed. I will never buy or use their service. And I will share this story with anyone who brings up there name.

I've given 2 stars in stead of 1 because they were responsive, which is why I went with them originally over another company. Unfortunately, my opinion went down hill from there. They had to make 2 trips to repair my water heater. The first trip they replaced the main controller, but it was not secured. The pilot light went out the next day and when I went to re-light a piece of the new controller went flying off. They came back out and replaced that controller again... the serviceman admitting at that time that the controller they replaced the day prior was older. So I had paid full price for an old broken controller???? On the 2nd trip they replaced it with an actual *new* controller that was the same model of the original one. This time the service man indicated he also replaced another part ($49 value)... which I honestly have no idea if he did or didn't. I did not receive a revised bill and he wasn't sure if I'd be charged??? I thought perhaps that additional piece would have been complimentary since they had to return a 2nd time due to their own poor workmanship. However, my invoice is for $348.00 - - - my VISA was charged $435.25??? My water heater is working again without issue. But I feel strongly that there was an attempt to take advantage of the circumstances and an overcharge. As a result, I cannot recommend George Morlan and will not use them in the future.

Morlan has always been a supplier of hard to find parts for repair and service. As far as their respect for the Service Industry they can not be beat. They have done so much for the community and given advice to all levels of customers from the confused home owner to pros seeking answers to difficult problems. George is no longer running the business, but it is still family and kind folks running it. Check out their Bathroom and their Toto toilet line. They were one of the first to carry Grohe, which is the Mercedes of fixtures, plus nearly every level of fixture with Wolverine still being proudly carried by them one of the last of the great American manufacturers.

So sadly i never got his name but having gone to 3 different plumbing supply locations (and misordering a product online) where they all told me that my uniquely sized Aerated Stream Female Aerator for my kitchen facet would have to be special ordered, yadayadyada I tried one last time at this GMPS location because they had been so good to me during my bathroom remodel (shout out to the manger who let me swap the floor model sink for the one i ordered that was coming in late and i needed it ASAP) and low and behold this gentleman took on this aerator challenge like it was his calling in life and found a solution using a totally different make and model that just happened to fit. Mind you he tired several other options before having this epiphany. It was something so small but it really meant a lot to have him really invest in finding a solution. As he said when i left i just dont give up. and that was an entirely true statement. He didn't. I will not use another plumbing supply shop from now on.

Poor customer service. I called on the availability of a commen valve cartridge, the representative seemed preoccupied and not very knowledgeable. I was told they are not going to have something like that. a response I would expect from home Depot not a supposed reputable plumbing dealer

I’ve been to GMP probably 5 times for things I couldn’t find anywhere else and all 5 times in last 15 years I was greeted by an employee that was completely disinterested in helping me. The last time, today, I went in to see if they had replacement parts for Koehler shower handle. “Call Koehler “ he says 3 times in a row.
Me: do you have this part?
GMP: call Koehler
Me: do you at least sell the tiny screw that tightens the faucet?
GMP: call Koehler
Me: what about a generic handle that I can purchase similar in size?

The gentleman (alan) I was dealing with should not be in costumer service, first he can't do a refund,grante g it was a new computer service but he couldn't find the part I ordered the day before, that was coming in from the Tigard store, he said and I quote the part was to small to find, he finally got the part and was refunding a different part after he tried to charge me again for the part I was returning for a different tolite flapper showed him the pictures I had taken. Well got the refund done handed me the paperwork turned and walked off, understand I'm still standing there waiting for the other part I need for my tolite, he disappears so I'm thinking he's looking for my part no he goes and takes a break not a smoke break but 420smoke break when he finally shows back up and asked me if there's a problem why I'm still standing there it's like hello I still need the other part, O I forgotten about that and he stinks of POT that's why he's so abbsent minded, he asked to see the pictures of the flapper again hand him my phone and he quickly turns around and disappears with it... For me that's like stealing my wallet I have everything on it at this point I'm 😠😡. He also never said good bye have a nice day nothing, very bad customer service, and after a hour of trying to get a part exchanged and picking up a part I ordered the day before, I'm behind for my customers....
I'm sure George Morlan has good people there but I sure didn't get one of them.
If you're going to smoke POT do it at home not at work. Take care of your customers!

I ordered a specific Rheem water heater model. They substituted a Ruud water heater without saying they were doing that. They claim it is the same (Ruud is a budget brand owned by Rheem).

I had the worst experience. Incredibly rude and dismissive. A complete lack of follow through. It took over 4 months for all of the parts for my shower to arrive. When I would call to check in, no one took responsibility or ever apologized to me. I would never recommend them to anyone!

Drove an hour here on a Saturday to pick up the last of a specific water heater where George Morlan were the only ones in town that had one in stock. Got home and realized they had loaded the wrong one on my truck! Called to notify them of this issue and they had someone out within two hours with the correct water heater at no additional cost to me. I also purchased extra parts for the installation just in case. The lady that helped me waived the 30 day return policy so that I can return any extra parts the next time I’m in town, even if it’s after 30 days. Great place

I've been in twice in the last two weeks to buy fittings for a plumbing project. Both times the employees that helped me were surly and seemed quite put out. If they don't want to help you then they should give you access to the fittings instead of making you ask an employee for them.

My advice: figure out what you need and buy them online and save yourself from their attitude.

They have a good showroom. They even have a $10,000.00 dollar toilet too. I had to look to see it too. They sell allot of water heaters and have all the little things to get the job done. Stop by and they can help you get the plumbing job done.

One of our sinks started leaking because our house builder used flow tight valves and they are awful. We took a photo and brought it in here and the guy working the counter immediately knew what we needed to replace it with (a shark bite).
Thank you for saving us a lot of time and money of calling a plumber! Whole thing fixed with a $25 part in just a few minutes by some armatures.

I was very disappointed with my service call for $199. The young gentleman had almost no insight into my problem. For an installer for the supposed Water heater king his answers were was I never seen one of these water tanks or i do not know I am not an electrician. Was told everything looks good and I wired it up right. That will be $199. I suggest Waiting for a real water heater specialist. One who has plumbing and electrical skills database to come out to diagnose your water heater issues. One that doesn't leave you in the same situation you were in, minus 200 bucks of course and having to reopen covers as he didnt even put the foam insulation back in to cover wires.

Worst customer service ever! Appointment made for Yesterday (Monday). Took the day off to be available with the understanding they would be out between the hours of 9 to noon. No show. Called to find out why .. was blown off saying they would get to us the next morning at the same time frame. So now we are into Tuesday .. took another day off to be available the understanding the same time frame would be honored (9-noon).No show. Called and was told they again dropped the ball but would make a special trip out and be at residence before 6pm. Called at 5:50 ... was told they can't get to us and would have to reschedule. So out two days work and no service completed. I should submit a bill for the two missed days of work and see how that goes over. hands down the worst customer service ever! if you scroll though the reviews you will see others that got blown off by this company ... sad.

I have called (and visited) multiple times to get some sort of status on our order. The staff has has consistently taken the path of least resistance. When I called, the staff member sounded put out. Said he would call me with a status, never did. At our last store visit, we wanted information on a 3000 dollar toilet we are interested in. The salesman acted like he was too busy to talk with us (with an attitude, of course). It's a long drive to get such shoddy customer service. Terribly disappointed.

Our small business has been using George Morlan for years and couldn't be happier with the quality of service. The name Water Heater Kings is deserved. Don sold us two hot water heaters that were installed by other companies. One was damaged and Don discounted the unit and offered a full warranty. After two weeks it broke and George Morlan stood by their warranty like every business should. Their plumbers (Jaspn & Travis) were efficient, knowledgeable, professional, and very respectful of our tenants. They were also careful not to damage our floors when bringing in the new unit. From the plumbers to the management and everyone in the middle I couldn't be happier. If you are considering a new hot water heater George Morlan is the place!

I always go to George Morlan first. Came in today looking for a fairly old Sterling part. The extremely helpful rep behind the counter searched and searched and used an old book and finally found what I needed. He didn't have it in stock and wasn't exactly sure how long it would take to have it delivered to them: when I found it online in stock somewhere he told me that I should order that right away so that I wasn't waiting a long time wondering where my parts would be.
Knowledgeable, friendly, helpful: this is why I always go to George Morlan first.

True experts! We have a super challenging water heater location - utility room with a sloped ceiling, max height is 4.5' - water unit is build into the ceiling. We were terrified that we'd find no one to replace our water heater when it went out. On initial phone call, the technician took down all of our space challenges - from small access door, to minimal standing height, space available around the actual unit, etc. - and mapped out a solution. Two engineers arrived the next day and smoothly installed a new unit - no stress or challenges involved. They were excellent, and I can't recommend them enough!

We have purchased a toilet, showerhead, small parts and now a water heater here. They are always friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and competitive. When we purchased the water heater, we used the phone number listed on the curbside pole for curbside pickup. You are directed to pull around back and they load whatever you purchased for you. Two minutes later I was back on the road with a water heater which beat all other local sources in price by at least $40. We will be return for our next project.

Just stopped there hoping they would have what I was looking for. Granted it was 5:30p and they close at 6p but no-one took care of me for 15 mins even though there was just one client. the 4 employees did not seem to care. A manager who “took care” of me did not listen to me and disappeared complaining that his warehouse people always misplace stuff. After 10 more minutes waiting. I left. These guys just don't give a %$#%.

I don’t write many reviews nor do I complain a lot when shopping, however I felt compelled so on my interaction with George Morlan plumbing.
I know very little about plumbing beside basic knowledge of DIY bathroom projects. So I went in to GMP to get some help with replacing my tub trim kit and options. If you have never been to GMP which I had not, they have a take a number system. I did not know that as they were not busy and I stood by the Front counter. I stood there for several minutes before one of the people standing behind the desk told me to take a number. I thought that was odd because there was nobody waiting but I did and a few minutes later my number was called. Seemed a little inefficient but whatever. I explained to Anthony Rudder what I needed. He seemed very dis-interested in what I had to say nor gave me any other recommendations than one product. I needed to get it replaced so I bought what he had in stock, based on what he said. The product was opened but he said it was the last one and I needed to get it replaced. When I got home I did some more research online and found that there was another option and I could buy it online but I thought hey I will just take this one back and see if they have the one online and do a trade-in. When I returned the next day I explained that I found another option and if they had it in stock I would buy it from them which they did not so I wanted to return the item I had purchased. He asked if I had opened the product, and I stated that it was opened when I purchased it. It got a little awkward because he said no it was not opened and I had to explain that it was open, and made it seem like it was an inconvenience for him and he did not believe me. After several uncomfortable minutes they did return it, but I felt as if they were not wanting to help nor did they believe me. It was a very bad experience and I won’t be back or recommend this place unless you know what you want. Very unhelpful.

I had a faucet hose break on my KWC faucet and after spending quite a bit of time and buying the wrong hose I finally went back to George Morlan to get help on finding the right part number.

We bought this faucet in 2004. Todd was very helpful and was able to go back through all their orders for us and found the invoice that listed the kitchen faucet we bought with the correct part number for the faucet!

From there they contacted KWC and verified the correct part number I needed for the hose that was broken. Unfortunately they didn't have it in stock and would have to order direct from KWC and it would take time. So I went looking for it myself online. There were 3 places that SAID they had it in stock. 1 didn't actually have it in stock, 1 their website was down and couldn't place the order and the 3rd couldn't accept a credit card because that part of their website was down.

So I went back to George Morlan to order and when I called Todd said you know I've been thinking and this part is on a limited lifetime warranty. You should call KWC directly. He then sent me a copy of the invoice which is what KWC would need to process the warranty.

I just got off the phone with KWC and with the invoice I was able to get this part for free on my warranty. They will ship it directly and it will get here much quicker than going through any third party.

Without Todd's help I would have paid for this part and not gotten it as soon as I will get it. He did a great job for me.

They will deliberately give you the wrong part if you don't ask for EXACTLY what you need.

This has happened too many times for it to be a coincidence. The surly people working behind the counter clearly loathe and resent the customers.

I just got back from there buying a standard part. The part is so standard, that when I called Fred Meyer, the person answering the phone knew exactly what I meant right away (they didn't have any).

The guy behind the counter at George Morlan tried to pretend he didn't know what I wanted. Finally he reluctantly went in the back to get it. Then he returned with four different sizes. Since I knew from experience they would do this, I was prepared to know the size (I'd measured with my fingers).

Be warned - measure everything and know exactly what you want or you will be driving back and forth all day buying and returning parts.

When my water heater failed ,Joe was able to come to my house first thing the following day. Fortunately he was able to make repairs instead of a full replacement. His efficiency got me back in hot water quite quickly. He even took the time to explain what had happened in a way that I could understand. Thankyou George Morlan.

Got to give a shout out to the salesman who goes by HS on my invoice at the SE Foster store. During these pandemic times he could have simply sold me the part I needed and called it done. Instead he took the time on a busy day to not only explain how the faucet mechanism works but also used a tool that I certainly do not own to remove the broken part and install the new one. So appreciative. Customer service personified.

I needed a flexible connector to connect my custom faucet to the waterline ( already have the pipes under the sink).
Went to GMorlan convinced they are professionals and will help me . I was met with the most utter skepticism by the sales clerk who told me it is not possible. Maybe it is my accent so I rephrased my need: I need a pipe or a flexible hose that starts with 1/4 male and ends with 1/2 male .
Again I was told to call the manufacturer ( in China) because I will not find something like that in our market. Decided not to throw my faucet away I went to W.C. Winks and they found a solution for me in no time. Not trying to promote other stores but the attitude ( combined with the lack of knowledge) of the G Morlan's sales clerk was less than professional. Hope they get more training so we can shop one day at George Morlan, too.

Today Brandon from GMPS came by and replaced our old, leaking water heater that was rusted out. He was beyond helpful and got it done faster and better priced than any competitors. Very disappointing, multiple experiences over past 1.5 yrs. Promises made repeatedly, varying from paperwork to actual water heater availability. A different story and promises made by multiple people in the organization who then would not have any records or supporting documentation for the next conversation. Quotes for work a good 20% over what I received from a plumber on top of everything else. I was a happy customer from years ago, that has now drastically changed. With one exception: April in their office is great, personable, follows through on promises.

I was very disappointed with my experience at the SE Portland Showroom location. I've been here twice, have dealt with three different people, and got the same cold, unfriendly, and unapproachable feeling each time. So much that I felt I was burdened to be shopping there. Whenever possible I shop locally to support small businesses, instead of buying online. My first experience was when I was buying a faucet cartridge. I came with questions and was left confused. I decided to do some research and finally found the part I needed. Instead of buying on Amazon I called and asked if they could order for me. They ordered the part and said it would take two weeks. I had to ask if they would call me when it arrived and they said yes. 4 weeks went by. I decided to call and they told me the part had already arrived a couple of weeks back. Picked up the part and realized the part they ordered was different from what I requested, and on top of that, the manufacturer sent them a different part because the part they had ordered didn't even exist. I returned the part and explained they ordered the wrong one. No questions were asked, not even if I wanted to order the right one. No apology either. Ordered my part on Amazon and got it two days later. Given that practically everything can be bought online now, you'd think they would emphasize customer service above all else. Guess not.

Toilet fill valve, Moen bathroom leaky stem cartridges, Kitchen Delta sink loose handle issues. No long details, but 3 different instances each sales person talked me through the fixes. Each one I thought I had to replace more than what was necessary, and the sales person told me only minor parts were needed! Really helpful. Cannot say enough.

Shout out to store leader Don Dimoff. I needed to install a shutoff to an outside spigot and install a new outdoor faucet. Don talked me through the project, and sold me what I needed. He added a $2 pex release tool in case I messed up, which I did... but I had the tool. The job went well. By the way, I'm all in favor of plumbers, but sometimes it's good to do things yourself and thanks to Morlan and Don, I did it. Thanks!

We did not have a good experience with George Morlan. We have a tankless heater and it's starting to repeatedly shutting down after ~5mins. A technician was sent out, he did checks and contacted the manufacturer tech support, mentioned there's nothing abnormal (no error code) he could find, charged us $350, and assessed that there's probably build-up inside the heat-exchanger tubes and needing chemical flushing, which will be a separate service call and charges. Before we schedule the 2nd visit (I had doubts of his assessment), we took a look at the controller and noticed there's indeed an error code!! (And a simple google search pointed us to a flame ignition problem) Then it only took us an hour to learn and fix the issue.

I believe in the integrity of the business practice, but our experience made us wonder if the technician had even bothered to reproduce the problem (and if he wasn't able to, why wasn't it mentioned?). In addition, how did he arrive at the conclusion of buildup in the heat exchanger? (I'm a chemical engineer by training and have worked in industrial setting. The symptoms just did not match up - a feedback I had shared with the technician.)

After, I called and provided the follow-up to George Morlan. They were defensive at first and when I told the guy I was just providing the feedback and not expecting anything, he started to become more receptive and agreed to investigate. Overall, I'd like to think they are a trustworthy business and our bad experience could be influenced by some other factors. But we will not recommend them if you have a tankless heater.

The mascot is a little weird, i mean, water-heater monarchies seems a little “too soon” considering the geopolitical status of the U.S and England following the great “Revolutionary Water-Heater War” of 2015. Needed a Thermocouple for a water heater, said they didn't have just the thermocouple, had to buy the entire kit, igniter, gas tube. Cost $98.00. Went to Home Depot got the part for $13.28. Not real pleased with the lack of expertise, it to mention all the time it took.

Two days ago, I went to Foster George Morlan for a shower diverter replacement part. I wanted information on how to change it, and was 'kind of' shown. Long story short, I didn't get the right advice, my instructions were not in the package when I got home, and I couldn't change the part. I felt I had gotten short shrift from the staff. Today, I sought help from my sister and youtube, and finally, we gave up, and took the stuff back to George Morlan. The female clerk didn't know much. Then she called a guy over. My sister did the talking because she is more knowledgeable and calmer than I, but she also went away feeling very disrespected. In a huff, the male stuffed the new part in a bag (all sticky because he had smeared the part with silicone) and the woman said You're done!' So disappointing. But with the help of youtube's advice to use the silicone, we succeeded!

Ordered a kitchen sink grate in March. Called them at least 20 times over the next six months, only returned my calls twice, and gave me a number of different excuses. Picked it up 3 times only to have it be the wrong product. Kept telling me they were sorry but never followed up with me. In the end they told me the vendor would not make my product.
Possibly some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced.

Waited 2 weeks for a sink we ordered, only to be told that it was backordered and unknown when it would be available again. Finally got this information after 3 phone calls, why weren't we told that at the time we ordered? Unreasonable, and very poor customer service. Nobody seemed to care about customer service at all when we were in the store. The person who helped us was visibly sick (runny nose, cough etc.) and just seemed miserable.

My mother is near 80 and her family and all her friends have been Morlan customers for many many decades.

I needed a cartridge for a Rohl faucet we bought in 2006. The manufacturer changed the type of cartridge in 2012 and I could only find the modern cartridge number. I called the Foster store asked for help because I searched the internet and could not find anything other than the incorrect (modern) cartridge. The lady could only find the modern incorrect one. I said I am watching a video of the correct part and I asked if I could send it to her so she could see that the two cartridges are different. She made a very loud breathing sigh then she said I need to contact Rohl directly. I was not happy with this because we know that Morlan charges much more than other stores but I figure that means that I would get a little better customer service.

Then, I called the Tigard location and asked if they would help me find the cartridge. The lady helping me was nice and while I was being helped, all of the sudden the manager got on the phone and said you bought the faucet over 10 years ago that is just too old and too long ago. You need to contact the manufacturer.

I was a bit shocked and told him my mother chose your store because she believes you give customer service and that your store is like family. If we have to call the manufacturer ourselves, why should we continue to shop at your store anymore?

The manager got a bit hostile and then said we would only help you within the first 30 days, after that you are on your own and have to deal with the manufacturer directly. I told him I didn't want to speak with him anymore and hung up.

I honestly am amazed and am now completely disgusted with Morlan. I cant believe that the manager went out of his way to stop the lady from helping me.

I can get the lousy service and pay a lot less at Home Depot. I will never shop at Morlan and I will go out of my way to make sure everyone I know and every elderly person knows that Morlan is actually worse than Home Depot. Sometimes the helpers and Home Depot are retire professionals and go out of their way to help those with little experience.

I recorded the two phone calls and will let anyone listen to them if they want. I record most every call to businesses in case they give me specific instructions or part numbers. Its too easy to forget or write something down incorrectly.

Looking for bids to replace our old hot water heater. The gentleman who answered the phone asked me how big the space is where the heater currently resides. I didn't happen to have a tape measure in my pocket so I told him I would be back in a minute to get one. When I pick the phone back up, he is yelling, HELLO, ARE YOU THERE?!?, I said yes, I had to run uptairs to get it, before I could finish that sentence he starts in on me, OK, I need the demiensions of the space, demensions of the heater, the model # and the serial # of the tank, write all that down before you call back. It wasnt just his attitude, but his tone, he had zero patience, zero courtesy and he started the whole phone call off with a very condescending tone.

I just said sorry to have bothered you, bye and hung up. I hope you read this fellow, if you cant treat fellow human beings, let alone potential customers better than this, you need some time off for a major attitude adjustment.

So this review should have been the last 5 visits to George Morlan plumbing, the attitude and customer service are atrocious. George Morlan used to be reliable but anymore they are too busy to help. I went in today because my sink push stopper had a bad gasket and I figured that I'd have to replace the entire plunger piece and it would cost me but it would be a simple part to screw in rather than call a plumber, but both the person who helped me at the desk and the manager told me that this part did not look familiar and that there were simply too many parts like to it and to find it would be like finding a needle in a haystack. My only solution was to replace the entire fitting and that would mean calling a plumber (for me). So, I went to A-Boy plumbing and initially the guy who helped me said that this part did not look familiar but that he'd ask his manager. She came over, asked 2 questions and walked over to a display. She thought that it might be a brand called Mountain. Sure enough, it was an exact match. Better yet all I really needed was a gasket and she happened to have one. $2...and from the time I entered A-Boy to walking out with my new part 5-6 minutes. Save yourself the grief of dealing with George Morlan and just go somewhere that actually wants to help. Ironically, the original part was purchased at George Morlan 7 years ago.

George Morlan is my go-to for everything plumbing related. They might not have the biggest showroom, but what they do have on the floor is high quality and what they don't have, they will get for you. The staff is great, always friendly and helpful.

They have a great supply of really high quality plumbing supplies. Their prices are more expensive than Home Depot but are still fair and they carry better brands that will last. I bought everything I need for my remodel through Chris Orr and he did a great job and offered excellent service. My only complaint is that a few of the other employees were rude and even interrupted Chris while he was working. I am glad I worked with him and appreciate his great service!

I've purchased things from George Morlan for years. Don, the manager is super friendly, knowledgeable, and he personally delivered my shower fixtures at 6:30am one morning before my plumber was suppose to arrive because they were late shipping to the store and didn't make my initial delivery store delivery. This sets them apart from others and definitely the box stores! I am a happy customer of George Morlan and will recommend them to other contractors and home owners.

We purchased a fairly high end faucet from George Norman (Grohe brand) that ended up not being what we were looking for. Pressure was poor and the faucet kept dripping after turning it off. We came in hoping to get a new faucet (and a new brand) to replace it.

Saleswoman had a hard time believing this and needed convincing that it wasn't our water hook up or installation that was the problem, but the faucet itself. Eventually she gave us a few options which we loved. Our contractor was willing to detach our current faucet and come pick up our new choice on Monday, but we were told that they can't put the faucet on hold.... We were basically told good luck, hopefully it will be there on Monday. She took our information down which was nice in addition to the model we were interested in purchasing.

But...... you can't put something you have in stock on hold for just two days? We felt that we were pressured to just buy it now rather than stick to our plan.

Update: Even though we had given them our name and phone number in addition to the exact part we needed.... we arrived today to pick it up and they had no clue where our information was. The woman who helped us this past weekend said she had taken down our information but it looks like she was not being honest.

I am hoping this is the last time we will have to deal with this business.

For years my family has been customers of George Morlan. I am finishing part II of a 3 part upgrade and am enjoying the wonderful products I purchased from this store. As of recent, I ran into a issue and had to put it on hold due to fire vac and other issues related to COVID. When I made a return to finding a solution, DON was right there and created an outcome better that I suggested. I was so surprised and appreciative! I know why my folks and relations always said to shop at George Morlan's , they take good care of their customers. I plan to begin part III in January and indeed I will be supporting this wonderful business. Not only is their customer satisfaction tops, but their expertise in products they sell is impeccable. My sinks, faucets and all other merchandise is beautiful and side steps the normal look at Home Depot and other stores too. Thank you Don and GM for all your help and expertise!

Geo Morlan has always been a fixture in my life since childhood; mommy's blowed up wahter heetow was removed and replaced by George Morlan Service workers in the late seventies (held up for 18-years past it's warrantee)...: Even had one of their service techs perform repairs on a custom cooling system on a street racer of mine in the mid-90's, and other heating/cooling projects as well; always treated well & always paid a fair price for the labor...

I am not a satisfied customer. Below are excerpts from a letter I sent a few weeks ago. I still haven't heard anything back.

I recently had a negative experience with George Morlan. I purchased a water heater that proved to be faulty. The unit is still under warranty but neither your service department nor the manufacturer have honored the warranty.
I went to your SE Foster Road store on February 16, 2018. The salesman sold me on a Reliance electric heat pump water heater, stating that it would lower my electric bill and that the additional noise from the heat pump fan would be minimal.
I was immediately disappointed by how much noise it made. Not only was it so loud I could hear it throughout my house, but it made several distinct noises, including a rattling/buzzing sound, which indicated to me that there was something broken somewhere inside of it. After a few months of putting up with the noises, I was further disappointed to discover that the new water heater was not saving me any money on my monthly electric bill.
To address the electricity usage, your service department instructed me to switch the unit from “hybrid” mode to “efficient” mode. Switching the unit to “efficient” mode most likely would have addressed the energy usage issue, but it exacerbated the noise issue and created a new problem. “Efficient” mode makes the heat pump run constantly, which not only produces constant noise, but also pumps so much cold air into my basement that it cools the whole house. This might be a desirable side effect in the summer months, but in winter it is unbearable, so I have continued to run the unit in “hybrid” mode, thereby eliminating any energy savings.
To address the rattling, your staff instructed me to take a video of the noise and send it to them so that they could diagnose it before sending a repair technician. When I sent the video, the George Morlan service representative told me that a service technician would be at my house the next day between 2 and 6pm. By 5pm the technician still hadn’t arrived so I called George Morlan and a different representative told me that I was not on the schedule!
They also informed me that George Morlan does not service heat pumps and that there was nothing more she could do for me. She referred me to the manufacturer.
The manufacturer told me that transporting the water heater on its side invalidates the warranty. George Morlan loaded the water heater into my vehicle on its side, so if it is indeed true that the manufacturer’s warranty is now void, it is due to George Morlan’s negligence.
The manufacturer's technician detected that the rattling sound was coming from inside the tank, which they said they would not service. The manufacturer stated that George Morlan has a “full service contract” with them, meaning that George Morlan is supposed to be certified to repair the products it sells. They encouraged me to again attempt to work with George Morlan to resolve the situation.
I called George Morlan two more times, most recently during the week of December 17th, both times I requested to speak with a manager. I have still not heard back from a manager.
I chose to purchase my new water heater at George Morlan because of your company’s excellent reputation for customer service and standing by the products it sells, so you can imagine my surprise and feeling of desperation at being told that my new water heater cannot not be repaired nor replaced under warranty. In addition to the $728 purchase price, I have invested a great deal of personal time and energy on this faulty water heater. I would like to respectfully request that you consider my situation and work with me toward a fair resolution.

Purchased a circular pump and after two times ordering the wrong model finally I got it. Due to shortage of parts couldn’t have a plumber install it. After 3 months getting a parts from another supplier had a plumber install the pump but it didn’t work. Plumber checked and tested everything and determined something is wrong with the pump. I have called the store and they are telling me our return policy is 30 days but no where on the invoice saying that. I paid over $300 for this pump never used it and they don’t stand behind the product they sell. I have contacted Oregon Attorney General and filed complaint against them. Also the package they gave me looked a little different and suspicious due to removal of orange label, I am wondering if it was marked defective or something like that. I wouldn’t purchase anything from them.I can provide pictures and materials if needed.

I've been coming back to George Morlan for all my plumbing projects for 25+ years. Sure you can get plumbing supplies at Lowes/Home Depot, but you won't get service like this or the incredibly knowledgeable staff at GM.

They failed to wrap wires with electrical tape when they installed our water heater. They were going to charge $150 to service it. Even though it was their incompetence. Never trust them again. Not even an Appology.

Went to GMP to order an aerator adapter and was told by one sales-person the size would be impossible. Another guy actually took the time to find the right part, ordered for me it and said he could have it in by the following Wed. I paid and left feeling confident about the transaction. That Wed, no call. Fast forward to a month of no calls and being told bogus dates the couple of times I called... I finally went to the store for the 2nd time in person and was informed it was there, on the truck, but that it was with a bunch of other boxes and I could wait for a few hours if I wanted while they unloaded. I don't appreciate that kind of attitude considering I've been super patient and nice. I get the impression my little purchase simply wasn't important enough for them to give a flip. The interactions with the sales-people made it seem like I just wasn't worth their time. Ordered from Amazon, delivered in two days to my door. Yeesh.

Two separate employees could not identify my kitchen faucet. It turns out it is a Moen Alder 87604. One of the employee was super emphatic that it was not a Moen faucet. So I went from driving six blocks to driving across town get a replacement sprayer for it.

I noticed my water heater was out. I called into George Morlan at about 5:30pm and was surprised they could come out the next day! The repairman Dave was very friendly and helpful. He was able to order the part and have it 2nd day air shipped. When the part came to my house, I called them and Dave was able to come back and complete the service call the next day!
I would highly recommend George Morlan!

My customer experience during two visits was mediocre at best. Most employees seemed act as though customers are an irritation. On top of this, the showroom is disorganized and cluttered, prices are high, and wait times for out-of-stock items (which most seem to be) are very long.

This place is awesome!!! I love going to George Morlan. Everyone wants to help. Keep in mind that this is not a big box store, they are hands on and will ensure you get exactly what you need. I bought all of my bathroom fixtures and plumbing here and they had everything from the high end, to get it done on a budget. Their hands on approach is comforting as you can be sure you will get everything you need the first time.

I have 1964 plumbing system that wears out piece by piece. As a do it yourselfer, I have tried many plumbing supply stores in the Portland area. No other plumbing supply store tops George Moreland Plumbing Supply in terms of parts on hand, expertise of the staff and their ability to get quick deliveries for parts ordered through them!

I cannot recommend this business enough!!! I’m not very handy around my home and definitely terrible with plumbing issues. I walked in yesterday after trying and getting no help from one of the big Corp spots a week ago and literally the service rep Jason went above and beyond to help me. He was able to fix the part I thought I needed to replace rather than try to up sell me. He took a long time making sure it was right too. I have complete trust in this company now and will never go anywhere else for my plumbing needs. Awesome staff and service.

I live in the neighborhood and so this place is my go to when I need plumbing supplies. Usually the service is good but today I had a lady being extremely unpleasant. As a woman myself, I tend to be looked down on when going to plumbing stores. When being treated with disdain by another woman, it is a pill hard to swallow.
I came for a replacement piece, and the person at the counter was borderline rude, not trying to give me much explanations. When she told me they didn't have the piece I needed and I said I wouldn't buy anything then, she just walked away, without any type of end of conversation greetings.

It is a deplorable behavior for somebody working in the service industry and I will for sure refrain from shopping there again. There is another plumbing store a few blocks down the road on Foster and they have much better customer service and attitude, they will be the ones getting my business in the future!

Just stopped there hoping they would have what I was looking for. Granted it was 5:30p and they close at 6p but no-one took care of me for 15 mins even though there was just one client. the 4 employees and Don Dimoff (found his name online) did not seem to care. Mr Dimoff did not listen to me and disappeared complaining that his warehouse people always misplace stuff. After 10 more minutes waiting. I left. These guys just don't give a %$#%.

Customer service was non-existent / dismissive. My first time here, I had a list of what to get, I would have been a quick and easy sale.

Nobody greeted me, so I walked around expecting someone to maybe approach me like most appliance/hardware shops I've been to. After I lapped the store I noticed a line forming for the counter so I guessed I was supposed to wait in line for help. I waited and was told maybe someone could help me in the back, so I walked through the front counter to the back. It wasn't obvious to me this was even an area customers could walk to. I walked back there and told the person working I was sent back there and he said it was for commercial customers only and sent me back up front to get to to the back of the line again.

I don't fault a shop for being busy but I feel like good customer service is still at least acknowledging customers and letting them know how to receive service. I've always loved driving by this place and I adore the neon. I was excited to finally have a reason to come in and support a local business but I walked out feeling snubbed, bummed and I guess I'm gonna buy my sink online now.

2 Stars because of the neon though.

5 stars for Clarify Clara. She is a star in company with a horrible reputation for customer service. I am not a plumber, but I am a pretty good DIY and have tackled lots of remodel, gardening, auto repairs on my own over the years. Plumbing is intimidating and going to George Morlan is not something I look forward to, but have done several times over the years to buy fixtures and components. When I need to go to George Morlan, I mentally prepare myself to have a Long wait time, be ignored, eventually be helped to only have the staff take multiple phone calls and be distracted by other projects they are working on. Clara helped me with my order, clarified everything multiple times and explained 3-4 week lead times. Right now I am giving her a 5 star rating, I will come back later and rate George Morlan the company once i get all of the fixtures and components I ordered in 3-4 weeks.

The handle of our kitchen sink's hot water faucet broke.
2 months ago I went into George Morlan's SE location on Foster, to order a replacement part.
It took them 20 minutes to get around to helping me, find a part, order it, take my payment, and get me back out the door. They were not busy, they were simply slow & inept & frustrating. They said they'd contact me when the part came in, which should happen in a few days.
After 6 weeks without any notification, I went back in (this was 2 weeks ago.)
I waited in line for a bit. As the guy at the counter finished with the previous customer, I stepped up. He held up his hand to stop me from approaching the counter. I stopped in confusion, as he turned to a passing co-worker to ask them about something non work-related... just chatter about a sports game from the previous night. It felt like he was letting me know my place; he'd get to me when it was convenient for him. It was my job to wait.
He might know about plumbing, but he knew nothing at all about friendly, or professional customer service. Eventually he looked at me in mixed resignation and disgust, and waved me forward as if it was a huge burden on his part.
Flustered, I explained that I'd been waiting 6 weeks for a part. He looked it up, and said, It's still not in. That was it. I left, frustrated and disappointed. I felt like I must look like a homeless person or something... but I didn't, I was dressed for work.
Yesterday I stopped in again. The person at the counter heard me out, then looked up the part. They weren't rude, but they were not friendly, they offered no explanation or apology for the 2-month wait, nor for the lack of notification when the part did finally arrive. They fetched the part and handed it to me. It felt very unfriendly. I left the store, having had a truly miserable experience each of the 3 times I'd been in there.
2 months' wait. Zero notification. Horrific customer service. If you have other options for your plumbing supplies, I recommend utilizing them. This store scored 0 out of 3 interactions.

Called at the last minute on a weekday.
Just informed that we needed a particular type of faucet for our bathtub to replace the existing one so we took a picture of it and they said they had one in stock.

Saturday morning we arrived to purchase it only to get it home and discover that it was an inline plumbed set up rather than the offset type that we needed.

They charged us$79.99 for the incorrect one and when it was returned , the guy seemed to be confused that there was a different style faucet produced and in use in the industry.
We found one at Lowes for $45.00 that was the correct fit for our needs.

I had always thought that these guys knew a lot more about plumbing than apparently they do.

And the faucet we purchased at Lowes was made by the same manufacturer.

They charged $45 rather than $80.

There is hardly a store I can remember that has treated me more rudely than George Morlan Plumbing. First, I was ignored for at least 30 minutes while I looked for a replacement faucet. Then, when someone finally responded to my question, I got a quick We can't replace that. Found the replacement at Home Depot after a 5 minute search with help from their staff. George Morlan probably should go out of business.

I've only have the initial consultation, but the person who assisted me was confident and knowledgeable and was able to show me things that I think I'm going to want in my bathroom now that I'm renovating it. I asked someone else who's redone a bathroom recently whether he thought the prices being d were reasonable and he said they are. That won't stop me from trying to get a really good discount of course! I think my new bathrooms can look really good when we're done!
