I purchased a new hybrid water heater. I called on a Saturday and got an appointment on Tuesday for someone to install it. I got the text when the tech was on his way, he was on time. That's the pro's. For someone with 20+ years of experience, it felt like he never saw a hybrid water heater before. He tried selling me an electric water heater by telling me false facts about the hybrid water heater. He was at our house 7+ hours. During that time, my wife went out to the garage to throw something away and caught him looking in our cabinets. We don't have any expensive in there but it's shady that someone would do that. When he left, the alarm was going off on the water heater (which shuts it off so we didn't have hot water), then we had to call the company for him to come back. It was a bad part with the water heater, but I'm not sure why he left in the first place with the alarm going off. I got the name of this company as an approved Duke Engery pro contractor. It's been a week and a half and I'm still waiting for a response regarding the Duke Energy rebate they're supposed to file for me. Very disappointed with this companyEDIT: In response to the owner, I followed the guidelines from Duke Energy, it says to purchase a energy efficient water heater, then use one of their pros to get it installed, which is what I did. The tech did try to sell me on one of their water heaters, but it was a commercial brand, not energy efficient and had a shorter warranty, 6 years vs the 10 years that I bought. Maybe there's some communication issues between the tech and the owner, but the tech did apologize to myself for not having the accurate information regarding the hybrid water heater. Before leaving, he warned my wife that the alarm was going off but not to worry because there were no issues with leaks. When my wife tried the hot water, it was just air coming from the faucets. Within 15 minutes of him leaving, we called the office but he couldn't be reached by his cell phone, so he arrived a couple hours later. Not a huge deal but just giving accurate information. The tech called Rheem, and they diagnosed the bad board, and setup a replacement to be shipped to our house. I didn't have to deal with calling them (thank you). As for the rebate, after sending an email to them, the owner replied saying I have to email my latest electric bill to another person in their company, within 30 minutes of receiving that email, I replied with my latest bill. Haven't heard anything since. It was never communicated to me that it would take 4-6 weeks until I read his response from my review. (I have the email as proof). I'm sure Rapid Repair Experts is good at many things that they do, but this project was not one of them. If you're looking for an Energy Efficient Water Heater, and to take advantage of Duke Energy's rebate, I would recommend another company, or hope you don't get the same tech that we had.
