Piedmont Metro came out the same day as I called on july 12. I had no A/C, one of their serivce techs came out and showed me why I had no A/C and said they can fix it now!!. My unit was low on Refrigerant, so piedmont put 2 pounds of R-22 in and I was good to go. Thank you Piedmont Metro for coming out!! I will call them again if i have another problem.

Our AC went out, I contacted a big brand name company to come out and take a look. The tech was good and did explain the issue to me but his quote to repair was so much.. then we got to talking about how much to replace the unit. This is where big companies just get out of control.. he had to call his dispatch and then they had to get a sales person over to go over their sales pitch regarding a new unit.. This process took so long and then finally got the insane Quote from them the next day...

So after all this I was recommended by a family friend to contact Piedmont Metro, I talked to Robert and he got me in touch with Jason and he was very professional and very knowledgeable about our system, they gave me a quote on the repair which was way lower and also gave me a quote THAT DAY on a new system. We decided to go with new system which was way less than what the big brand name company quoted for . Next day they came out and installed the new system. They got us up and running and even the next day they came to double checked the system to make sure everything was working properly. I will be using Piedmont Metro for now on as there team was great.

Piedmont Metro installed my dad’s downstairs unit 2 years ago and replaced the upstairs unit recently. Both times, they have been professional, knowledgeable, on time, and offered fantastic customer service. Recently, I’ve had to call them out a few times to make a few tweaks and they came out right away every time. Morgan, Thomas, and the entire Piedmont Metro group are doing fantastic work in this 100 degree heat! Thank you all! 5 stars all the way around!

Called Piedmont around 3pm and they had a tech here by 4:15pm the SAME day! The repair man was very friendly and professional and was able to identify and repair the problem within 30 minutes. I would highly recommend this place and will use them again when needed.

Matt Fisher was the technician that repaired my HVAC system. He arrived within 2 hours of my initial call, and quickly diagnosed the problem. He was able to get the unit running, and waited for 30 minutes so that our house could warm up before he took the part he needed to replace. He returned first thing in the morning with the new part and had my HVAC fully repaired that morning. Excellent service!

The technician arrived with a smile, and was careful not to track dirt into the house. Explained the symptoms, and he fixed the problem(s) within 10 minutes. The tech also explained the issue and provided future maintenance advice on something I would have overlooked.

Piedmont provided a Rotoscoped-Rooter Service. The repairman was here one hour and fifteen minutes. The service was performed well. The price of $605 shocked me. You judge whether a guy should earn that amount of money to unclog your drain in essentially one hour.

Piedmont Metro was absolutely amazing! We had run into multiple issues while re-doing our siding, including a broken HVAC unit. The gentleman who initially came out was professional, honest and knowledgeable. We decided to fully replace rather than repair thanks to his suggestions (without pressure too). They came the next week and put the system in quickly, stayed to make sure it was fixed and went above and beyond on aiding with other issues they found under the house. MANY thank Piedmont, we will be using you in the future!

We had problems with our Hot Tub which would not turn on. Called Piedmont and Jason and Morgan came to see what the problem was!
Both of them were great! They fixed the electrical issue and added it to our Breaker Box! Excellent people and great service! If we need anything electrical again or the other items that are listed on the Piedmont Website - we will call Piedmont...The price was better than any other company !have charged! Thank you Jason and Morgan! Amazing that I had to call Robert 1 week after we needed them for the hot tub...WE had a crisis with the Carbon Monoxide Alarm and called 911 had the fire department in Chapel Hill come in 15 minutes they told us to turn off everything in the house and could not fine the source on our gas appliances that was causing the alarm so they called the gas company who found it to be the Gas Dryer with a flex vent with a split in the vent and should have been a hard pipe per code! Jason, Morgan and Robert came and did not leave until everything was working. You want a great work team and wonderful owner of the business and people that do the best job CALL PIEDMONT METRO better yet go to their website and see all the things listed that they do for their customers. If I could do a 10 Star review I would do it a heart beat! They are friendly, hard workers and a great team.

We had air coming into our home, but it was not cooling...instantly we knew it must've needed freon (or coolant/refrigerant). *Note: I am not as much of an expert with HVAC as I am with plumbing, but I just knew that sitting in a hot house with my mom and 8yr. old child with temperatures averaging in the upper 90s+ was NOT happening.

At any rate, after multiple failed attempts to find someone (ANYONE) who would come out without a week or more of a wait list as well as insane price quotes for diagnostic tests and lot of other unnecessary fees before getting to the pricey cost of refilling the A/C unit with the material that makes the air cool, the Lord sent us the sweet receptionist (hate I can't think of her name), followed by a return call from Robert, ending with Alex. PRAISE THE LORD!!!

Not only did these 3 individuals arrange for us to have air, they did it within a 24 hour window...the day after one of the busiest holidays -the 4th of July! They were professional, Robert was honest about time windows and costs, and Alex was efficient and thorough with his work on our unit -which, by the way, didn't even seem to take but 30 to 45 mins. My mom, daughter, and I can't begin to tell you how ECSTATIC and gracious we were for the Piedmont Metro team...and might I add, the house is now so cool, we actually had to bring out blankets! Ha ha ha...no, we just raised the temperature a bit. But, all in all, we will NEVER go to another big chain HVAC company or our sorry a** insurance company [AmHS] again.

My house temperature had not been getting below 82 degrees for a few days. I called Piedmont Metro last night and they were at my house after lunch today. They made no disparaging comments about my 1970’s unit (as many other companies have) and did not try to sell me a new unit (as other companies have). They quickly diagnosed the problem, got the part, and fixed it. Two hours later, my family is enjoying a cool house.

The service was professional, fast, clean, and kind. They are even dog-friendly! I will continue to use Piedmont Metro for all of my heating and air conditioning needs and I recommend that you do, too.

TLDR: This company has never made a single appointment on time and has jerked me around for OVER TWO WEEKS while being rude. They hung up the phone in the middle of a conversation and told me that someone came out to work on the house and banged on the front & back door and I didn't answer (I was sitting in the living room all day long). When I explained this to him, I was told that this technician was a deacon at a church and therefore he wasn't lying.

Rude, unprofessional, and forced me to blow over 3 days of PTO for their missed appointments. Nobody ever called to confirm appts &nobody ever called to reschedule or give me a 30-45 min notice.

FULL STORY: I wanted to give Piedmont Metro the benefit of the doubt. My home warranty company recommended them to me and dispatched them.

I initially reached out to my warranty company on June 7th, and they sent a dispatch to Piedmont Metro, stating that they would come out the next day (June 8th).

I took the day off work. Piedmont didn't call to schedule a time. When I finally called around noon, they had no idea who I was. I explained I was with my home warranty company, and the guy on the phone said whoops we missed this as in they hadn't seen it come in. He then told me he would get to me that afternoon. I then was confirmed to be on the schedule between 2PM and 4PM and that I would get a call 30 minutes prior to arrival.

...finally, after 4:45PM (45 minutes past arrival window), I got a call from someone saying he was in my driveway. He spent about 20 minutes looking at my unit before saying it had to be Freon and that he would have to send someone back out the next day (June 9th). I paid them the $100 deductible, per my warranty's terms. To their credit, the gentlemen at my house that day took his time to carefully explain everything to me that he thought was wrong with my unit. I never received a call from anyone and had no idea if anyone ever stopped by. When I got home on June 9th, my house was still too hot and the AC wasn't fixed.

On June 10th, I was awoken by a call early in the morning informing me that someone was in my driveway and that they were gonna work on it (meaning that they never came on the 9th). That person never confirmed with me what work was done that day or what the results were. I never had confirmation they were even at my house.

I never received a call back. On June 13th, I called and left a vm to figure out what was going on and nobody ever called back. On June 14th, with my house being 80 degrees still, I contacted my warranty company. They were reopening the ticket with the contractor. At some point during this period the contractor called to ask if my AC was still broken. I said yes, and they said they would get someone out there. (Nope)

FINALLY, on June 16th, my REALTOR called 2-10 and got the ball moving since 2-10 didn't know the contractor STILL HADN'T BEEN OUT TO MY HOUSE AGAIN. June 16th, we were told they would come out that day. Finally, we called after several hours of not hearing anything and were told they could not get to us today and would need to get back to us the next day.

I had instructed my home warranty company that we could only take appointments after noon on Jun 17. Sure enough, at 9:45AM, I got a call saying that someone was going to stop by. I sat downstairs from then thru the entire day (save for 15 minutes when I went to grab lunch and had someone else at the house just in case). Nobody ever showed up.

I finally called them again that evening and they told me someone had come out to the house that morning and banged on the front & back doors but nobody answered. I had been downstairs all day since I got the initial call that morning. The only way this could be true is if the technician stopped by PRIOR to 9:45AM, when I was woken up by their inconsiderate early phonecall.

After calling me back, the man on the phone said he just couldn't get anyone out there and we would speak again on Monday. Did not receive a call at all on Monday, and when we called them to discuss they hung up on us.

This company installed a new AC and heating system for me last year that was supposed to include a 1-year maintenance plan. They did not show up for the scheduled maintenance visit, did not give an explanation why, and have not responded to my calls. I have been told on 3 separate occasions over the past 3 weeks that a manager will call me back; no one calls. I am upset that they breached their contract by not performing the included scheduled maintenance, but thankfully they have plenty of competitors in the area so that I can at least get it done by someone competent.

Had to call the Durham location to ask some questions a few weeks ago. They were nice when they installed our AC unit but now after they have got our business, they became extremely rude to us. The guy over the phone was so rude and impatient every time I interacted with him. I told him we wouldn't need the check up on the AC unit, he said ok annoyingly and hung up on me.

I wish I had called them first!
After my A/C wouldn't start, I called around to several local companies, with Piedmont Metro being last. The local competitors were too busy or too slow to schedule, diagnose and the problem. These guys not only came the same day(afternoon), quoted me a very low price to replace, and even replaced the whole unit(inside & out), while I was at work.

If I could leave no stars I would. There are not enough hours in the day to describe all the terrible things about this company. Robert is one of the most unprofessional and rude people I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with in my life. I had no choice but to use them as they were contracted by the granite company. TWO MONTHS later and the issue still hasn't been resolved. On five different occasions Robert set up appointments and was a no-show without any sort of call. It took a very unhappy call from me to finally get him to send someone and then the repair job was horrific leaving me 6 holes in my wall. The electrician was nice and said he would come back out to do more work to repair it, but Robert never scheduled him to come back out and will not return my calls.

AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS.

Saved me time and money! My AC unit was broken and I thought I was going to have to replace the entire system. I called Piedmont Metro and they conveniently and efficiently fixed the problem. So, I did not need to replace the unit. It is still running great a couple of years later. They were prompt and professional. They offer great service and great value!

My A/C went out in my home and I called several companies in the area in attempt to get a technician out to fix it. Either they were closed or booked while some didn’t answer the phone. I called Piedmont Metro and explained my situation to the secretary and told her I had a child here with medical issues and it was imperative that someone came out as soon as they could. The owner Robert called me within 20 minutes and told me that I had a bad situation and he would assure we would have A/C that day. His crew showed up and replaced my whole unit. Two weeks later we had another issue with the air, found out it was an issue on our behalf, they came back out and fixed the issue to ensure we had air for our little one. Definitely a great company and put their customers first!!! Thanks a lot guys!!!

I called Piedmont Heating and Air on Saturday about an issue with our Air Conditioning Unit. They called me back and scheduled a time for Sunday, arrived on time, and repaired the issue. The technical representative was polite and professional. He answered all of my questions. I would call Piedmont Heating and Air again in the future and would highly recommend their services.

Reece did a great job installing the new system and my kids enjoyed watching him work. We appreciate the owner, Robert coming out to review the job when it was completed. Piedmont (Morgan Truelove) sold me an annual service plan for $200 per year in February 2021. I have called their office in excess of 5+ times now about scheduling my maintenance service since this past spring and no one has responded. They were suppose to come out once in the spring and once in the fall.

This seems to be a common theme in their reviews so, buyer beware!

I am now at the point of filing a fraudulent charge on my credit card since the service has yet to be performed for my business. I would strongly advise going elsewhere for services from this company.

Edit 12/2: This is a State Farm office, not Allstate, and my agreement with your company started in 2020. My first service was to start in the spring of 2021. I called 3 times and your receptionist was embarrassed because no one had returned my call. No one called me back until I posted this complaint. I have text messages to prove it so don’t try to spin this. This office is in transition, which I explained to you, but did not change the terms of the agreement. I still maintain the lease and and my contact number is still the same. Shame on you for your lack of accountability.

Morgan and Alex came out to fix my heat which just happened to go out the coldest day of the year. They came out at 8 o'clock at night with snow and ice on the road and didn't leave until they fixed my unit. This is a great company with great employees and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND them to anyone. I've had a home warranty company for three years and this summer is the first time I've had to use it. I live in Raleigh, NC and the average summer temp is 89 degrees with high humidity and this summer is typical.When my A/C started failing my warranty company told me to use Piedmont Metro. I am glad I did!This is a family owned and operated company with experienced technicians.My warranty company had me jumping through so many hoops and gave me a lot of grief, the only good thing they did for me in this saga was introduce me to Piedmont Metro.They were and are experienced and compassionate, they cared about me and my deteriorating situation of no air in my 90 degree house. My saga without air went on for 16 days while the warranty shipped two wrong sized coils that didn't fit my unit even though they were given the correct sizes.Piedmont went above and beyond by getting me a coil to fit my unit and telling me that they would settle with my warranty company. They knew that I was caught in the middle, in a 90 degree house for more than two weeks with temps outdoors in the mid 90's.I will use them for my HVAC and furnace from now on because they responded, they are experienced and actually had compassion for my situation. Good customer service with the people in the office and the techs in the field!I highly recommend them.

If I could give 0 stars I would. We were told that service people were either coming within an hour or coming the next day for 5 days. They did not keep us apprised of their intent of service, every time we needed to call. We had to take of work 5 days and wait for nothing! We called R & C Services and they came that day and fixed the problem. Don't use this company unless you want to use your valuable vacation days sitting in a hot house waiting for no one.

I would like to share how amazing the service is, they were not only responsive but when my AC unit went out they came within the following couple days. They were very responsive, with phone calls and any questions or concerns I had. I will be willing to go back to them as long as I’m around the area! I honestly recommend this company to any of my family and friend they did such amazing work only took a couple hours , and my house was cold like Antarctica within the end of the day!

Piedmont Metro is the absolute best. They’ve answered frantic calls, come out immediately and have excellent pricing while being kind, thorough and patient. We’ve had an a/c unit die at the peak of summer, which they kindly got limping along until the unit we needed was delivered, and just today they answered the phone before 8a and arrived before 10a to replace the downstairs furnace. Again, keeping it affordable even with the huge inflation of costs they are incurring. Everything is left neat and debris cleaned and they’re nice to my dogs. You couldn’t ask more of a company, or the individuals working for them.

I was so impressed with these guys. Thorough, professional, knowledgeable, and they gave me a great deal on a new AC/furnace. They were meticulous in setting up the new equipment, and explained the issues in layman's terms. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS COMPANY AND HATE THAT THEY WERE THE ONES WE CHOOSE TO INSTALL OUR NEW AC UNIT LAST YEAR. THEY FORGOT TO FILE A PERMIT WITH THE TOWN OF FUQUAY WHEN THE UNIT WAS INSTALLED AND I ALMOST GOT A HOLD ON MY PARCEL FROM THE CITY. IN ADDITION, I HAVE BEEN TRYING FOR TWO WEEKS TO GET A TECH OUT TO LOOK AT MY UNIT SINCE AFTER A YEAR ITS ALREADY SCREWING UP. I HAVE BEEN PROMISED THAT A TECH WOULD COME OUT AND THAT THEY WOULD CALL ME BACK MULTIPLE TIMES. AFTER PLAYING PHONE TAG (I WONT SAY NAMES, YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE) FOR OVER A 2 WEEK PERIOD AND SPEAKING LIVE WITH THEM, I STILL HAVE NO RESOLUTION AND MY HOUSE HASN'T BEEN UNDER 80 DEGREES THIS ENTIRE TIME. I NEVER TAKE THE TIME TO WRITE NEGATIVE POSTS LIKE THIS BUT THIS COMPANY ABSOLUTELY DESERVES ONE.

At the beginning of the summer, after a day of calling AC companies without any success, because everybody's AC broke down at that time, Morgan from Piedmont Metro eventually saved us, when he called around 6pm and came and fixed our AC unit the same day around 10pm (no surcharge). That was great service. However, when we wanted to ask Piedmont Metro about furnace maintenance and estimates on other services, no technician has ever called us, despite two requests submitted through the friendly call center (which was however no help regarding information - they only submit your questions to the technicians). That is why I can only give three stars. It doesn't seem like high HVAC season right now, so I don't understand why it is such a problem to get a call, even if just to say that they are fully booked.

Piedmont Metro installed a Goodman heat pump for us last year after our AC pooped out in the dog days of summer. AC worked perfectly through the end of the warm weather.

A few months later winter rolls around and the heat doesn't work. Piedmont came out and manually switched the system to heat, citing a faulty (preexisting) thermostat. I bought and installed a new smart thermostat.

A few months later, come March or April, we needed AC again. Turned on the AC, AC didn't work, so Piedmont came out again and manually switched the system back over to cooling. Said the thermostat's the problem. So I went out and bought a second brand new thermostat and installed it. No dice.

Now it's September and it's getting cold again and our heat doesn't turn on. Had a different company come out (Green Horizon) and they figured out that the orange wire that controls the reversing valve had a short somewhere.

After diagnosing the problem Piedmont couldn't diagnose Green Horizon suggested using one of the other unused wires instead of the orange wire. Worked like a charm. Piedmont's responsive, friendly, but ultimately incompetent, at least in our situation.

I would also leave 0 stars if I could. This company has a problem with scheduling and rescheduling. They also have difficulty in returning calls and calling the customer on their way out for the service. I finally ended up calling another company to do the work. I could not take another day off work to wait around for them to call or not call and then tell me they called. I think most people have smart phones now...we know if you called. Please do not lie and tell me you called and left a message. You did not. Unless you like being held hostage in your home for days on end, then do not use this company.

The Piedmont Metro team that replaced my furnace was Metro from Fayetteville Rd., Durham. They responded promptly and kept me informed about the replacements and the cost! They replaced a 30 year old furnace and used as much of the duct work, etc. as possible which really helped with the cost. The price was extremely reasonable. I have recommended them to my friends (who have had their services and have been very happy). I will continue to do so

I purchased a house in late December of 2012. I was told by the gentleman that I purchased the house from that the entire heating and air conditioning system had been completely redone over the summer. In May the temperature started rising and the A/C would not come on. So i called Piedmont Metro early one in the morning. One of the dispatchers answered the phone and told me that a representative would be there around 11 or 11:30. At 11:15, J.C. arrived at my house. He diagnosed my problem very quickly and informed me that my fan motor had burned up. He suggested that I have the motor replaced. The price he quoted me was very reasonable and the motor was replaced within 2 hours. My house was cooling again within 3 hours and I am very satisfied. I would recommend Piedmont Metro to anyone.

Update: we just used Piedmont Metro again at our new home! The unit was old and they sent a tech out quick! After talking with the tech we decided to get a new unit. They were so polite and worked around my schedule to get the new unit installed quick. Thank you Piedmont Metro for the fast an polite service! Great company!!!! 5 stars all the way!

Recently we went to turn on our AC and only got hot air. We called Piedmont Metro after a recommendation from a neighbor. The customer service was great. They assured us by phone they would have someone out quickly. A technician promptly arrived and checked out our unit. He explained everything that needed to be done and quickly had us up and running. I recommend Piedmont to all my friends, family, and neighbors.

The good experience starts with the amazing customer service Robert gives every customer. The technician that came was amazing. He found our issue in minutes and the problem he found was there when previous companies had come and they didn't find it. After they fixed my issue I signed maintenance contracts with them because I was so impressed with the service.

They will explain, plan, install and maintenance all there work with you. They schedule appts to meet meet your needs. They carry all the latest Green products to save you money. Technicians all always friendly, extremely knowledgeable and explain everything to you prior to service. The 3 stars are for Jason, Morgan, and the female at the call center. They worked tirelessly to make sure my cooling system was operating properly. However, I give 0 stars to Robert. I'm not sure what his title is, but I AM sure he has poor communication skills and has little patience. Those are two qualities that make him ill equipped to handle phone calls from the public.
Our unit stopped working on one of the hottest days of the year. I called Piedmont and an appointment was made for a technician to fix it. I initiated a claim through our home warranty for service. Jason, from Piedmont, came out and assessed the problem. He also took time to speak with the home warranty people and get everything straight. The problem began on a Saturday, but could not be taken care of until Tuesday due to scheduling and securing the part. Jason came by on Tuesday with his colleague, Morgan, and they got to work. They were kind, professional, and quick. Everything was fine until Friday evening. The unit just stopped working!
This is where Robert comes in. I contacted him in the AM hours to see if I could get a service technician out to fix the unit. Robert calls me and says he will call me back when he has someone. I wait two hours before I call him back to see what the status is. Robert, asks me am I the customer who they serviced through the home warranty. I told him the warranty was of no consequence because Piedmont had already been paid by US. The home warranty is only for reimbursement. He said he understood that and he was on the phone with the technician. Again, he said he would call me back. I waited almost 3 hours this time before venturing out to find the company through the website address. I could not find the place and my wife fell ill while I was gone. She had to be rushed to the hospital by ambulance because she got overheated. The temp in our home rose to 89 DEGREES!!!! I called Robert back after I found out about my wife. I told him what happened and I was trying to get a fix on when the tech would get to us. He says he is trying to work me in. I said we should not have to be worked in because we paid for service already. I also told him I've been waiting hours for a call back that has not come. He begins yelling at me saying, WHOA, WHOA, WHOA! I never told you I would call you back in 1 hour, 2hours, or 3 hours(never said you did, Robert). People think they can just call and get service and they can get it right away but it don't work like that. I have to work you in. I said ok and hung up the phone. I could not believe the NERVE of this guy to yell at me like I was a child guilty of some infraction. I was the one without air and whose wife fell ill because of it. But I hung up to avoid getting ugly over the phone. One should think twice about yelling at someone because one does not know what that person is going through. On top of that, it's just plain WRONG. How dare you bring up a home warranty as if your company did not get PAID already. Who in the hell do you think you are???? A customer has the right to secure whatever means of reimbursement he/she can. What business is it of yours?????! Robert, if the only way you can deal with pressure is by yelling and screaming like a spoiled child, let someone else handle the calls. I am not going to let this go and I will not stop until corporate hears about this man and removes him from fielding phone calls. Bad enough these jobs cost in the thousands, but I'm supposed to sit still and get screamed at too??? All he simply had to do was say my guys are going to get out to you before we close. I would not have cared if it was 9:00PM- I would have been fine with that. But he never communicated that to me at all.
Jason and Morgan arrived and did great work with no charge for their trouble. They only wanted to get our unit working. I really appreciate those guys! For anyone using this company ,in the future, look for Jason and Morgan- two top notch technicians who KNOW THEIR STUFF!!! But, if you run into Robert, bring your pacifier.
