I have used master plumbers for years now. They had always been prompt . I call this time because lightning struck my house and I lost all water source. They were at my house within a few hours of me calling for service. They did not stop until they made sure I had water and it was holding pressure. Thank you to Lee for always being top notched, professional and honest.

Tried twice to schedule an appointment for gas log service. Picked a time on their website using the link they sent me, got an email back saying they'd gotten the request, but nobody ever contacted me, and nobody showed up to the house at the appointed time. Tried this all a second time, got a confirmation of request, no contact, nobody came. Very frustrating experience, especially waiting at home for nobody twice. I've gone with somebody else now.

Our technician, Tim, was prompt, professional, friendly, thorough and knowledgeable. We appreciate that he made recommendations and suggestions on ways when can continue to keep our units running at optimal performance. Yes, we would recommend this business to friends and neighbors. .

Found out our water heater burst during the night or morning. Rey was was sent out and arrived super fast and explained everything that needed to get done. Rey and the other technician were prompt and got the replacement and install done fast and efficiently. Rey answered any questions we had and was very nice. A great experience to a stressful morning.

We had a leaky valve, which is a very simple repair. They charged us $600.00. When we reported their exorbitant charges to BBB of Greensboro, Master Plumbers denied knowing us as customers. They are crooks and gougers.

Greg did an awesome job with replacing a condensation pipe and unclogging my pipe. Both guys were very professional that got the job done. 5 stars to both gentlemen!

The service call went great - and Ray (plumber) was professional and courteous, and took 15 minutes to fix the issue. The reason for the 1 star - my initial call with the company at 3:30 PM quoted me $89 to perform a site visit for my issue. I had made several calls for quotes to come and service the issue as it was an emergency situation related to my farm. After agreeing to the $89 call fee, the company called me back at 4:30 to inform me the site visit would now be $279 and considered after hours. At this late in the day hour, I had already passed on the other higher initial quotes which were not ‘after hour’ rates, and would now have no choice but to accept the much higher fee for the 15 minute fix. Total cost was $529 for a 15 minute fix, and I had to jump start the company van for Ray - for FREE - because his battery was dead. Needless to say - I’ll not use this company again.

After having gone through several HVAC companies in the past years and recently having one keep pushing appointments off, we found Master Plumbers; and was able to get an appointment the next week for HVAC maintenance.

Joel and Zack showed up first thing in the morning and explained what they would be doing and made sure no work, after inspection would be done, until we approved it. They were very professional, polite, and friendly. They found a few issues with our systems (with pictures) and explained options had. There was no sales pressure and thoroughly explained the options. I told them I was pleased they didn't rush through everything and was told they only do a handful of jobs a day, so they can focus on the customer and not just the job.

We were so impressed with the service, we signed up for for the maintenance plan.

Lastly, the negative comments which are on here are nonsense. I don't thing some people understand how HVAC companies operate when it comes to maintenance. Master Plumbers are very competitive with their prices so don't let the negative reviews fool you.

The service technicians with Masters Plumbing Heating & Cooling are always on time and professional. They very quickly figured out the problem with our air conditioner and had it fixed in a very short time.

A bunch of con artists. Always begging for a Google reviews every time they show up, I bet every good review is from people they asked. Every time something needs to be fixed it’s always 3k and over. (For plastic)The membership is bogus too, they say one thing and do another. Also lied about a the discounts which the membership is supposed to get, but everything is a minimum of 1k and that was For just a hook-up, we would have to provide all of the parts and they just install it nothing else. Don’t seem like the way a member should be treated. Also one time they came out and my wife asked if they could also do the safety inspection (since we had an additional appointment a few days later) and they said they weren’t the ones that did the inspection...fast forward to our second appointment when the exact same guys came out to do the safety inspection...The receptionist is also extremely rude and disrespectful giving an attitude the entire conversation and insulting my wife! That’s something you don’t do, point, blank, period.

Service not listed because he didn’t fix anything. Charged us over $300 for fixing absolutely nothing. $200 was for diagnostic test so they can tell us that it will cost thousands more if we wanted it fix.Then he wanted to charge us $600 to pop in a hose that I already have on hand into my pull out kitchen sink faucet. Definitely would not recommend them they are over price for the little that they do. Do not agree to their $200 diagnostic test. All he did was take pictures of the parts.

Brandon was great but 1900 to repair a leak, and replace no more than 15 feet of pipe, they are the more expensive option, materials have not increased enough to justify the cost.

HVAC semiannual inspection and service

Brandon and Greg were great. They did a phenomenal job providing feedback to our questions.

Service was very good. However, I was charged $642 for 2.5 hours of service. I talked with someone at the company who explained that they don't charge by the hour, it's by the job and then explained the profesionalism and quality of their plumbers, etc...if you have the luxury of paying a huge up charge for professionalism on a relatively easy plumbing job, more power to you!...tell me how you made your riches!

Ray arrived promptly for my appointment to give me estimates for new toilets in my 1985 home. I decided to replace a bathroom sink and fixture as well. Even though it was 3pm Ray was able to arrange for a co worker to bring the items to my house. Ray has worked non-stop to replace to toilets and sink with high quality items that I would not find in the big box stores. I am very happy with my service with Master Plumbers. I am thrilled to say good bye to my 1985 toilets. I could not be happier with the quality of the work. Thank you Ray!

Beware these scam artists!

What offends us the most is that we paid Masters $90 to come out an hour late, mess with our units, and have them fail almost immediately after while warning us of a problem their technician exacerbated himself. We know that because he told us not to do it.

Read on to find out how.

We had an HVAC technician, Tim, come out to inspect our heating unit. We were given a window of 3-6 pm so we left work early to be here. At 3 pm he notified us he was 25 minutes away.

By 4pm, because he had not arrived, we called to make sure he was still coming. The customer service rep just told us he was “on the way”. He showed up around 4:15, almost a full hour from when he said he’d be there.

When he arrived it was pretty usual. We had inspections on our unit every six months so we knew to show him how to access the furnace and hvac unit itself, as well as the thermostat.

He checked out the unit and then presented us with our options. We could have a him inspect our lines to locate the source of a leak he found (both inside and outside) for “a couple thousand dollars”, or he could replace the entire unit which is what he strongly suggested.

The high end to replace our system came out to $26,148. The middle end $24,803. The low end was $18,287 but had to be paid off within 18 months without incurring interest on the financing. He assured us he did not receive commission as we scraped our jaws off the floor.

He went on to explain that our contact switch was starting to wear from the constant cycling. (This part is important). Then he waited for our response.

We told him that the problem he detected had been diagnosed already by a family member who had 40+ years in HVAC and was out of town at the moment. This relative had already informed us a few days prior to keep our unit on Emergency Heat to stop the cycling. This was the same cycling that Tim had warned us was causing the contacts to wear.

So we told Tim we’d get further opinions.

As he left, he told us he’d appreciate a five star review to get the managers “off his back”. Then, he mentioned to place our unit on Emergency Heat. He had the unit placed at 73 degrees on regular cycle, where it was cycling ever five seconds or so.

About two hours later, the unit completely failed, leaving us without heat.

It turns out, while Tim made his inspection and gave us a 25 minute spiel to sell us a full replacement, he had left our unit on a constant cycle at a temperature far higher than what we run it. He had packed his tools up and everything.

While he was telling us that constant cycling was causing excessive wear on the system, for no conceivably honest reason, he left our system constantly cycling.

We had been informed by our family member that keeping the unit on auxiliary should buy us at least two weeks time since the issue started Friday. Tim messed with our system on Monday.

The units that Masters tried to sell us cost about $8000 without install, meaning they make A LOT of money off of desperate people.

When we told our family member the quote he laughed. He immediately stated that despite supply issues, that cost was entirely too high and is the result of greed and taking advantage over ignorant, desperate people.

Don’t fall for this scam.

As always, Lee and his team are excellent. Great attitudes, and their work is of the highest quality. Highly recommend.

Tuned up HVAC system and replaced capacitor

Wonderful job as always!

I bought a house that had been sitting for some time. I discovered the water line between the well and the house was broken. Lee was recommended and used to replace the waterline. They were able to remove the concrete riser around the well head and trench a new waterline into place, as well as replace a defective switch, allowing the Well to once again feed the house. Due to how they ran the new water line they were unable to place back the heavy concrete riser without damaging the new line. It was late in the day and obviously no quick fix so I said I would deal with the issue at a later time. Oh, and if you have any personnel tools laying about, make sure you put them away before they are finished. They could be mistaken for their own and taken. :)
UPDATE: 8/15/14
Turned out where the plumbing connection was made at the pressure tank and switch, leaks. I have always noticed that it was wet there. It was hard to tell if it was condensation dripping into the dirt or not. I have insulated the pipes as well as placed plastic down in crawl space. I put a pan under it and its a pretty bad leak. I am now wondering when the joined pipe fitting buried in the yard will leak. They could have used a continues run of pipe from well to at least inside the crawl space.
I would pass on these guys for this kind of work.

Great customer service.They worked on tracking down a freon leak in my HVac system and then repaired it, cleaned the compressor unit which was full of the Freon oil and then replaced all the Freon and repressurized the system. Thoroughly went over the repairs that were done and the contract for payments. Several payment options were offered.

When we first called for service they were able to get us in the next day! We had several things that needed to be addressed and all were repaired or replaced in good timing. Ray, Brandon and the other technicians were courteous, helpful and professional. They left the working area clean and organized back to the way it was. Would definitely recommend!

We cannot say enough nice things about Tim. There is a negative review on this page that does not describe our experience at all. He was extremely professional and informative. He went through our service contracts thoroughly and spoke to us about our units. We look forward to seeing Master Plumbers and Tim in the future.

The plumbers that serviced our house were friendly and knowledgeable. They were upfront about pricing and not pushy with other services they offered. They also inspected the test of the plumbing in our home at no additional cost and provided us with a full report on the findings. My husband and I are very impressed with their service and will be using this company again in the future.

Technicians went about their business installing a gas pack heating system at my house. They were thorough efficient and courteous. This system should last quite a long time.

They replace the blower motor inside my furnace under my house. Had to order the part when the TRUCKING COMPANY sent it to the wrong location they had on standby a portable indoor AC unit that they brought to my house to make sure me and my family did not melt. The technicians names were Lee and Joel they are super nice and very knowledgeable. I will definitely be calling this company back and referring them to anyone and everyone that I know.

12/7/2022 - Brandon L. and Zac took care of all the issues that they identified on the inspection. I am very satisfied with the work they did. They were both very professional and took care not to track mud into the house even though the weather was terrible. I really appreciated that.

Prompt and friendly service.

This company came out to check an outdoor grill for a leak we smelled, as well as an outdoor water pump for a leak under the ground. They said the gas required a complete (expensive!) rebuild, new grill, and new piping underground. We had a follow up from the actual gas company (Piedmont) and they completely disagreed with Masters, checked it thoroughly and it was not in need of anything more than a minor repair. Thank goodness we got a second opinion.
The water pump they said “wasn’t leaking” even though there was as standing water regularly (after no rain). We got a second opinion, had the pipe dug up and replaced and, of course, there had been a pipe leaking. It no longer has standing water with the second repair person actually fixing the problem.
Then! The “Master Plumbers” tried to do a full house check (every faucet/toilet/everything—no wonder they are so expensive. Not to mention creepy). And told us how many things they “needed” to repair.
$435 later and they fixed NOTHING. I called to complain and the manager called back and left a message trying to go through each of the fake repairs that were “needed” explaining them. Not the point!!! You found problems that were not there and didn’t find the problems we actually called you to fix!!! I will NEVER use them again. Awful.

So these wonderful professionals just left, they installed two toilets and were in and out in about an hour. They were quiet and quick didn’t even know they were working. Call them for all your plumbing needs.!!!

A water heater leaked terribly in our church. I phoned late Thursday afternoon, and a crew of two met me at the church the next morning. The got the old unit out, capped the lines, and provided several quotes for alternative replacements. A bit slow in getting the “tech” part resolved, as 4G impossible inside and WiFi difficult to connect, and everything they prepare is electronic. They had to go off-site to get a signal in order to process the digital quote and invoice. Other than that, all went smoothly.

They try to overcharge you at every chance they get. They quoted me $774 to install a singe bathroom faucet.

We moved to North Carolina from Maryland in December 2015. We like the house we purchased. However, it’s a Money Pit. The house is 22 years old and had four previous owners that never performed maintenance on anything in this house. My father passed away in 2005. He was a Plumber/Steamfitter well-known in his Union for teaching and being the best at installation & diagnostics. So when it was time to pick a company close to his perfection, we looked and chose VERY CAREFULLY. The ONLY company that met all the requirements we had was Master Plumbers. Master Plumbers has helped us repair & replace plumbing & HVAC in our home.

Last year, in 2022, they replaced the Heat Pump upstairs. They brought us into the new ENERGY EFFICIENT & CLIMATE FRIENDLY era. The system installed uses less of our Solar Energy(Electric) and Cools/Heats the upstairs’ substantially better. We worked with two technicians, Joel, who helped us decide what we needed, and Terry who installed the system with his team. Both were friendly, professional, and knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything thoroughly to us.

This year, 2023, we have a plumbing issue. This issue seems to have been going on for a while. I had been warning something wasn’t right. The others would look at it and think a plunger 🪠 will fix it. Now it’s fun saying “I TOLD YOU SO.” Brandon and Chase came out to take a look and see if it was something that was an easy fix. As with anything in this Money Pit, it wasn’t such an easy fix. I knew it wouldn’t be the minute I saw all the water in the crawl space. It was a clog and a clog that was causing quite the damage. Brandon was thorough in going over options A, B, & C. A was the most expensive, and B & C was lesser. The only thing Insurance Companies pay for is damage caused by the leak, NOT the actual leak, nor the repair of the leak. We chose Option A because it offered upgrades that bring us into the ENERGY EFFICIENT & CLIMATE FRIENDLY era. The house has a water softener installed, but it has never worked. Option A included finally having a working water softener. Now, we have the No-Salt Conditioner by EasyWater. We had thought about getting another BULKY Water Softener, but this NEW device doesn’t even compare to those ancient, bulky things. It’s the size of a gaming console, hangs on the wall in the crawl space, and has no bulky tank involved. Jeff repaired the piping and cleared out the clog on Friday. Monday, he had Travis with him to install the new water softener and finish up anything left over from Friday. They answered all my questions and explained everything to me in detail. I ALWAYS ask a lot of questions. Everybody should be aware of how everything works in their home.

Last, we decided today, April 26,2023, to have the other toilets replaced in the house. Jeff’s here already installing them.

Most companies want to say this is broke, and it will cost this to fix. Master Plumbers is NOT that kind of company. It’s hard to find a committed company that takes the time to explain what’s broken, how it broke, how to fix it, and always the dreadful, how much it will cost to repair or replace. MASTER PLUMBERS has always been here to help us replace & repair this Money Pit.

The guys arrived as scheduled, took time to explain what needed to be done and completed some follow up work that I needed done in a very timely manner. Having the equipment you need on the truck definitely helps complete the job quickly! I have a feeling I will be doing quite a bit more business with them in the near future.

I have used this service a few times including replacing toilets and to fix a leaking toilet. The technicians Brandon L. And Zach were on time, professional, took great care of our space, and they diagnosed and completed the repair within a few hours of arriving. We have very light cream carpet in the bedroom and I was concerned about the carpet getting damaged or dirty, but they took care not to have water waste on the carpet and they vacuumed the area. As they do not replace the sheet rock, they recommended someone to us who responded immediately to our request for repair. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that I feel the cost for repairs are on the higher side. Although there is a monthly membership fee that reduces the cost of the visit. You pay a monthly fee, a fee for someone to come out, a separate fee for diagnosis of the problem and then the cost for the actual repair. As far as the actual work being performed - 5 Stars. The technicians are great. One could say you get what you pay for.

If you want a professional experience from initial contact to repair of a water leak, then this is the company you need to call. They are great in communicating and they were able to diagnose a problem others could not find. Please give them a try first!

I have used Master Plumbers (Lee and William Amos) for many years. They have always been very professional and very quick to respond to my problems. I have been very pleased with their work. I will continue to use them whenever I have issues. I highly recommend them.

I had a sewer gas smell in my on suite bathroom and choose to call Master Plumbers to come take a look. I called after hours on a Thursday and they were able to set an appointment at my request and had availability the next day but I opted for an appointment a few days out due to work scheduling. The customer service in impeccable as they walked me through my issue and how they would fix it. They were able to fix it immediately. I would use their services again as they have proven themselves to be top notch.

Brandon and Paul did an excellent job installing my new water heater the same day I called. The old one was shut off by the gas company due to a gas leak. They also re-seated a toilet and did repairs required by old hardware, and installed a high-pressure valve on my plumbing system. I was very happy with the results of the work. They spent basically the entire day dealing with a variety of plumbing issues.

Ray from Masters Plumbing did a Plumbing Inspection and found a number of issues that I decided to fixed by Master Plumbers. Ray would do them the same day. In addition Brandon from Master Plumbers came to work on the repairs. Ray and Brandon worked quickly making the repairs and explaining the actions they were taking. Ray had to leave almost half through the repair to go to another call. Brandon finished up. He took his time to make sure all the repairs were done correctly and everything was working correctly. They take care of HVAC very well.

Master plumbers does good work but they are always late and charge more than the other companies. Master Plumbers charges for quotes when several other companies give free quotes. They had to call and reschedule with me twice. Props for them actually calling and letting me know but there was a lot of waiting and many hours lost because they kept having to reschedule. I asked them to waive there service fee because they were so late and I lost so much time but they refused politely. There pricing is extremely high compared to other companies for exactly the same service. I compared there price to install a complete A/C system on an older house and their quote was several thousand dollars more than every other company that gave me a quote. All were certified companies but Master Plumbers was extremely high. Close to 20k compared to the exact same unit and service from another company that costs me 13k. They also didn't give me many options. They only offered a heat pump when I have gas at the house that can be used for a gas furnace. Their quote for new air ducts was also twice as much as every other company. Again, the technicians are skilled, nice and do good work but the cost was not consistent with EVERY other company.

They were excellent. They were on time and professional. Their work was very thorough. I am extremely pleased with their services.

Friendly, professionalism and explained age of my furnace

The company I work had used this business a year ago and was satisfied with their price and work so they decided to call them again when we needed to have the insides of a shop toilet and a handle replaced, as well as a seat on the other toilet. I called spoke to Bethany and scheduled an appointment. The plumber came last Friday asked me to sign a form stating that there is a $85.00 charge whether or not the repair is done. Fair enough. When I came back to work on Wednesday I found that this company had charged us $1226.56 to do the work!! For three hours of work!! That's right $1200.00 to fix two toilets, no clogs or leaks. Highway robbery! We are in the wrong business here. This guy Lee and his wife must be laughing all the to the bank. There was no work description on the bill, I had to call and ask for it and when it was emailed to me there still were no parts listed. Anyone want to see the actual invoice I would be happy to email it to you. I did speak to Lee about the charges and he firmly stood by them stating that his plumbers are highly experienced, drug tested and back ground checked. I don't see how this justifies price gouging. I can say they weren't taught honesty, integrity, professionalism and common sense. I would think that if they knew the charges were going to be $1226.56 they would had suggested or even offered to replace the two toilets instead. Again these are toilets in a construction shop not a million dollar home. Oh and I forgot to mention that they had to come back on Wednesday because of the high quality work they performed one of the toilets were loose and rocking, apparently it wasn't bolted down correctly. I would not suggest using this company, stay far away from them they are crooks and dishonest as the day is long. This is theft of services clearly and I will be posting this review on FB, Yelp, Angie's List as well as all social media outlet.

Charged me $800 to empty water out of my old tank, which consisted of running a simple garden hose from the tank to outside, and installing a shut off valve... Never again.

I called Master Plumbers this morning to see if they could send someone to attend to a drain issue we were having. They quoted me a time between 1 and 3 PM on the same day! I found out about this place after the guy normally used retired and they sent a letter saying this place bought his business. They came out to fix a condenser pump and said it was going to be almost $900 when less than a year ago the other guy who's business they bought charged $150 for the exact same thing. I looked up the part and it costs $49.99 at home Depot and it took him less than 30 minutes to fix it. I would hate to see what they would charge for something serious. When they told me it was gonna be 900 dollars I told them to leave and I would call someone else and they said I was gonna have to pay $200 for diagnostic even if they did nothing. The technician called the manager and they took off like 100 bucks if I signed up for their monthly plan but either way it was the biggest ripoff ever. If you're gonna take over someones business and charge 6 times more for the exact same service people are gonna notice, especially for a part that costs less than 50 bucks and took less than 30 minutes to fix. If they charge that much for something like that I cannot imagine if it was something really serious. I literally couldn't believe they treat their customers like that. Call anyone else but this place.

I deferred the other service I'd hoped to have done because I am sure I can find a more reasonably priced plumber to do it.

They showed up on time and before fixing the leaky bathroom faucet, they did a thorough walk through of my homes sinks, kitchens, toilets, and tub/showers. That was included in the $85 service fee. He then came back with what he found and related pricing. Absolutely no pressure to add anything additional on. I found the walk through very helpful as I have not had the plumbing checked since moving in 2.5 years ago. I didn’t go with everything on his list, but I did add in a few more pressing fixes. William came to our animal chaotic home when the big freeze froze up our pipes. My Rinnai water heater stopped heating water. I booked this appointment with Masters and was told there would be an $85.00 fee to come out. When the plumbers arrived they immediately told me my water heater would very well need to be replaced before even looking at it. They they told me they would charge $322 diagnostic fee to look at it and that would not apply to any repairs. I told them if I had been made aware of that I would not have asked them to come out I was only told about the $85.00. I asked what I was getting with the $85 and they tried to tell me about a safety inspection and another pitch on a new water heater. I told them I did not want to move forward and they billed me the $92.00 (includes tax) and said they would call their manager to see if there was anything they could do. They had been there for less than 5 minutes. They want out to their van and I got a phone call from the manger saying the diagnostic fee would be credited to any work I had done. I told him this felt very shady and I did not want to move forward. I called another local plumber who after looking at it reached out to Rinnai (standard procedure) with no diagnostic fee and they identified the problem within minutes. No diagnostic fee, no games. This company is really shady and definitely felt taken advantage of. I was out $92.00 dollars for 5 minutes with no help whatsoever. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!!

Very satisfied with the service. Terry did a great job in finding the problem and it was a little later in the day that he came and he never acted like I just want to get done and go home. I have had that behavior with other company employees in the past.

The company called ahead to tell me the tech would arrive within 30min and he was there in about 10 min or less. Brandon was very professional and experienced. Gave me an estimate in a timely manner and explained every detail of each optional repair. He wasn’t pushy and showed no haste to my decision. He even asked if I had time constraints with the repair, which was nice. The repair itself was top notch and he provided pictures of before and after.
I live in Kernersville now, and even though they helped me out in Greensboro, I wouldn’t mind using them again.

Brandon and Amon did a great job on this project. We had an extremely clogged pipe that was original to the house (1953). After presenting me with an estimate, they replaced a whole section of pipe on the same day. I was very impressed that they were willing to start the work at 4 p.m. even though they knew it would be a four-hour job. I very much appreciate that they took care of it on the spot. Overpriced, rip off. I had the monthly service plan, absolute to off. Everytime they came they found some issue to charge me hundreds for. Once they tried to charge me $150 to reprogram my thermostat. The irony is that THEY were the ones that originally installed and programmed it.

They quoted me $16k to replace an HVAC unit and I called around and found EVERY other provider quoting $6-7k. I asked them why so much and told them about my other quotes and was lied to. He told me they pay more than $7k for the unit. I went with another provider and paid $6700 installed for the same unit.

Master Plumbers responded quickly to my residence. Technician Almond and his crew were very professional and he explained everything to me in detail. All the service men were friendly.

Accidentally drilled a hole in a pipe while hanging a mirror on the wall. After the phone call for help they were at our home in less than 1-1/2 hours to help. Once on site they solved the problem and the charge was very reasonable for after hours service. Highly recommend!!

This was my first experience with Masters and they provided excellent service. They arrived on time, quickly diagnosed the problem, got my system up and running and returned later as promised to finish their work. All of the technicians were professional and courteous.

Called to have someone figure out why our instant hot water heater takes a long time to get hot water to the other side of house. Keep in mind the unit works it just takes a while in some areas. Told it was $85 service charge and I will be given 3 options. Tech showed up and told me it would actually be over $400 to run diagnostics. His recommendation was we replace the unit which would cost $10,500 or repair it for $5,600. A quick google showed one part for the repair was marked up 400%. Prices feel outrageous. He told me “we only have one instant hit water heater right now and it could sell at any minute and the parts for the repair could take 6 months to come in”. Another quick google search showed new authentic parts are in stock to ship immediately. I asked about putting a tank hot water heater in to save money. The one we would need would cost $1,200 from a box store and then labor on top of that. He told me all in it would be the same price, $10,000, once it was all done. Not sure how that math adds up. Save your money, call someone else.

Installed new Trane HVAC system summer of 2022. Previous system was 16 years old. Here today to do winter maintenance check. All is good. Technician Tim was very nice, professional, and knowledgeable of system.

I am a technician in the hvac business and had to make an after hour call to these guys. Wow what a stand up company. I know it's hard to try and find good honest quality work anymore but hands down these guys are great. Lee came right out and took care of my clogged sewer pipe and now I'm a customer for life.

Brandon was here exactly when he told me he would be. Confirmed my problem and gave me several options to choose from in order to fix my problem. He fixed my toilet quickly and efficiently! I called Master Plumbers yesterday morning after my water tank stopped heating.
Brandon arrived on time for the appointment later that day.
Throughout the appointment he was very professional and personable.
He discussed the potential charges I was going to incur.
He explained their billing is based on the overall project rather than by the hour. So if it costs x to diagnose something and the diagnostic finds the issue immediately, you still pay the full price. That may not be for every one but I agreed to that. Brandon then found the problem and presented 3 options to resolve it with quotes that represented the total cost (inclusive of the call out fee, diagnostic fee and replacement). He also fixed a separate problem I had with the operation of the master shower. He worked past the end of a regular work day and got everything fixed that day. Overall I was impressed and would work with Master Plumbers.

If you are interested in a specific fix for plumbing or HVAC needs (ex. leaky bathtub), find another business. If you are looking for a membership plan, where you pay for on-going maintenance, etc. this business may work for you.
I loved Southern Comfort Heating and Air, and when I bought a new house I called this company they had merged with to fix a leaking bathtub, documented with pictures by the home inspector, and for HVAC maintenance. Rather than focusing on the service requested, the technician went through the entire home without permission (my partner was present while I was at work or this would not have occurred) and gave a 3-tiered quote for every possible plumbing need and a few imaginary (similar for HVAC) starting at ~$10,000, but if I joined their club, they would take a certain percentage off of the cost. When I asked about the actual leak, they said they couldn't find it, and it would be another $400 to look further into it. After having already paid the $89 plus tax service fee x2, I was naturally pretty livid and called to let them know how disappointed I was in the lack of service and to request a refund of the service charges since no service had been provided. The manager did return my call promptly,and after an extensive discussion refused to return the service fees but instead offered a 2nd service call for free to investigate the leak. I agreed to this as I still had a leaky tub; however, the day of service they called to change the time, then later called to say since I had another business there at the updated time (for the HVAC services they did not provide) they chose to not stop. That is the last communication I had with this company and hope to have in the future.

This company quotes up front Pricing on their website. This just means they will be in front of your face while price gouging you. The dispatcher quoted 85 dollars for them to come out. What she did not explain was that once the technician arrived at my home he would proceed to stand there and refuse to do ANYTHING further without an extra 400 dollars. Now keep in mind that 400 was Just for diagnosing the problem . It would then require even More to actually do anything about it. If you enjoy getting scammed they can definitely help you with that.

What master plumbers is doing is taking advantage of their customers. The owner even called to try to sell me. Told me they price match but ONLY if it’s a similar company and they MUST drug test and background test their employees. Unethical is an understatement.

Three months and $1400+ later the repairs are still not completed correctly. Two out of two mechanisms installed repetitively break. When we emailed the company to come out to make repairs (again) they failed to respond for 7-14 days. Instead of the Master Plumbers team acknowledging that their response time was poor we were criticized for emailing them.

When we wrote an appropriate lower review for lack of response, poor workmanship and product, we were forcefully questioned why we left the lower review. Answer - because it was honest.

The service manager made a half hearted attempt at completing the repairs that weren’t made correctly on the first visit. The items are still not working correctly.

Poor workmanship, incomplete repairs and low quality mechanisms are what we have experienced when selecting Master Plumbers of Greensboro.

Master Plumber quoted my job at $17k for repair work that it turns out THEY originally completed. They refused to honor their warranty and I ultimately got all the same work done for under $5k by Go Green Plumbing. I feel like Master Plumber used scare tactics to try and scare my girlfriend into overpaying for work just because she's female

I called my former HVAC company and call was forward to Master Plumbers since they purchased my former HVAC service provider. My house unit has water leaking from attic to the ceiling below. Master plumber technician was very professional and indicates what job should be done. However, the cost is excessively expensive. 1) Replacing the pan float switch was $250, the unit cost <$40 and take a couple of minutes to replace it (Yes, I had done before). 2) To unclog the drain pipe was $250. 3) minor modification in the draining pipe was $400. 4) add a secondary safety switch was $250.
The total quote was over $1000 in addition of the $85 service fee (to show up and provide repair quote). All job quoted take less than 1 hour to complete and the cost of material will not exceed $100. I did check price of material in Lowes and I had done plumbing work and I know how long take (and easier) to performance those task. If you want to over-paid for a job, call Master Plumbers, otherwise find somebody else.
By the way, I checked the pan water switch after they left, and it was working fine.

Terry was very knowledgeable, professional, easy to talk to, and inform me every time he moved to different areas of the house and explained what he would be doing.
This was my first time with this company.and I would give them a 5.

I called them out to replace a warped toilet flange. I was advised there would be a $90 service charge to come out to quote even though the scope of work was quite simple. They arrived and wanted to inspect all baths and faucets. We did identify an outside faucet that had a slow leak. They then went to their van for 25 minutes to “work up some options”. They came in and tried to sell me on a membership with lower service charges and then showed me the options. To replace one outside faucet and replace one $5.00 toilet flange was $2610.00! To replace just the toilet flange and have us install the toilet was $861.00! This is literally a 45 minute job. I paid the $90.00 service fee and would not recommend you call these guys as they are not reasonable at all. They also have a finance plan which is probably how they get away with these crazy prices. It is sad that people get abused by this type of process. Beware!

Work was fine. But the guys parked right in front of my mailbox and refused to move it. Mailman drive right on by. Turns out, there are Fed Regs against blocking boxes since the 1970’s. Guess their employees believe laws and common courtesy don’t apply to them.

Terry and Adam were both extremely nice and very professional.

They came at the agreed upon time, assessed the problem and explained how they were going to proceed in fixing it. Good guys!

Came out to clear a clogged sewer line for us. When they put the rotor down the line (after using an extension cord provided by us because they did not bring their own for their own equipment), they cleared the clog which they determined was due to tree roots. However, after discovering there were tree roots in the line they did not run the rotor again with any type of cutting attachment to truly clear the line. The amount of work they did was so minimal that it was hard to believe they were charging us $500 for it. Two weeks later the same line backed up on us again. We called them to see if they would come back out to look into the issue free of charge, since they had just been out two weeks prior for the same thing. We were told they would not despite the fact they state they guarantee 100% satisfaction with their work on their website. We then decided to call Roto Rooter who had run a rotor in the same line again to cut out the tree roots that Master Plumbers did not. These roots were MATURE tree roots that had obviously been in the line for some time and had obviously clogged the line that Master Plumbers had been paid to clear out for us. Roto Rooter did an extremely thorough job on the line, ensuring the clog would not immediately reoccur as it did with Master Plumbers. It's been 3+ weeks and so far, so good with the job Roto Rooter did. Roto Rooter also backed up their work with a 90 day guarantee. Will definitely NEVER use Master Plumbers again. HIGHLY DISSATISFIED CUSTOMER.

I had an bad leak in my ceiling and Brandon was sent out to my house very fast. He came in and looked around and told me what the problem was before he even started. He was very knowledgeable and was fast. I highly recommend them.

We needed to have a new water filtration system installed for our kitchen sink, refrigerator, and shower nozzles. We called several places and Master Plumbers was the first to respond. They arrived precisely when we agreed upon. They appeared clean and were very cordial. They listened to the work we needed done, and provided an estimate on the spot on their tablet. The work was completed as explained, done neatly and professionally, and the rate was reasonable. I would recommend Master Plumbers of North Carolina to my friends and family.

Called because hot water would not shut completely off. The technician stated that they would need to take out old tile and not put back. The final estimate was $1210.35. Called another plumber and not only did he replace the stem on the hot but did the cold as well for a grand total of $150.00 . The job was completed in about an hour.

David and Brandon completed a tremendous amount of work in three areas. They finished ahead of the anticipated time-frame, left all areas tidy and are an asset to your company.
I highly recommend them if anyone is looking for professionals.

Had them come out for frozen pipes. Was ASSURED the problem was at the wellhead. I explained to them that I had thawed the wellhead and all the pipes under the house the previous day and the problem was not there. The plumber continued to insist that must be where the problem is.
I trusted him because he’s the plumber. I am not.
They charged me $409 to thaw the pipes, a $190 “access” fee because they had to crawl under my house. Plus their $75 service charge and taxes, I was looking at $713.
Low and behold, the issue was not at the well head or under the house. My pipes are more superficial underground and froze there. However, they still charged $713.
Had the displeasure of talking to their service manager Lee who after multiple conversations (of him interrupting me, scoffing, and being incredibly rude and unhelpful) states that he will give me $200 back but would give me the second $100 ONLY IF I sign a disclosure he wrote up himself saying I wouldn’t post negative reviews about them or make a Facebook post about my experience with their company.
This was a HUGE red flag. If a company thinks that what they are doing to a customer is fair, they shouldn’t have to worry about the customers experience being put on social media.
Obviously, I didn’t sign that disclosure.
He also acted like they did me a real solid by putting plastic on my wellhead to “prevent refreezing” and placed cardboard pieces in the vents under my house for “insulation.”
After speaking with multiple other plumbing companies in the area, I realized that master plumbers charges roughly $300 more than any other local plumber for this service, and the other companies stated that they would have installed heat wire to prevent any freezing in the future. Lucky for me, I got cardboard and plastic.
Will never use this company again and luckily never have to deal with their service manager again.

He did such a good job I decided to hire him to build my new home and my business and I am going to hire him for an additional building. We have used this company for two repairs, a shower drain, and issues with our AC unit leaking. Awesome plumbers who have integrity, great skills and are friendly! They moved my laundry room to another part of the house and had it all done by mid-afternoon.

We had two leaky faucets, and Brandon convinced us to replace them rather than repair them. Also convinced us to enroll in a maintenance program. The replacements are much higher quality than we had, and now we have the assurance that someone will respond to our future needs quickly. Brandon was so professional and friendly with us. Excellent technician and excellent company.

July 21, 2023: Brandon and Sam took care of our AC unit, answered my questions, and were respectful of us and our pets. Thank you, see you in 6 months for the next cleaning!

Deceptive, dishonest, and extremely over priced. I reached out to masters for a service call and was informed that it would be 99 for the travel fee to come look at my unit. However once the two people arrived the tech and the salesman. I'm assuming they saw the age of my unit and sent the salesman to push the hard sell on me. I was informed of the additional 230 diagnostic fee that is in addition to the 99 travel fee so 330 before they even start. They also informed me this was competitive pricing, which it isn't. None of their competitors that I called had this additional fee. My unit was low on coolant. The salesman then started pushing extremely hard to sell me new ac unit while ignoring the many times I told him I just want refrigerant put in. He then gave me a quote for a new 3 ton ac unit for 28 thousand dollars my unit is a 2 ton. I told them I wouldn't be needing their services and went with their much cheaper competitors. They put coolant in my system for about half what masters was charging me.

She asked me questions I could not answer, that's the reason I called this company, to get answers to my plumbing concerns. She questioned me for 20 minutes, just to tell me, she had an available appointment 2 1/2 month later. Why did she just waist 20 minutes of my time?

All I knew to tell her is, There's a smell of settling water coming from under the house, around the bathroom and kitchen area, when I look under the crawl space I can see, a small area of water collecting.

This is why I called this Company to locate the leak for me. Why do they advertise 24 hour service, but tried to give tried to give me an appointment 2 1/2 month away? buy the way it was 2:02pm when I spoke with someone .

The personnel are friendly enough but the prices are not at all competitive. Each time I've had them out they try to upsell me on service that is not really needed. They tend to exaggerate the concern and also the benefit of their service.

I've been paying monthly $29.90 for a plan that is supposed to save me money on their services, but when I get competitive bids, that is the furthest thing from realtiy. I'm definitely cancelling the membership at renewal. Total waste of $. :(

My family had a well pump that had gone bad, and we had no water to our home. Master Plumber Heating & Cooling prioritized our call and dispatched two expert technicians to do a diagnosis and evaluation. The technicians, Brandon L and Zach, were professional and knowledgeable. They were also excellent communicators. I am truly grateful for their hard work and for getting the well water restored the same day. I only have good things to say about the service provided, but am now learning that the installation cost was very excessive.

Exercise caution when dealing with this company as their practices can be quite deceptive. Upon requesting their service, a technician arrived and inquired about the issue. In response to my mention of a possible leak, the technician promptly quoted a price of $400+ just to identify the issue. Interestingly, this assessment was made without conducting any actual inspection. The entire process could have been completed over the phone.

Initially, when scheduling the appointment over the phone, we were informed of a $80 visitation fee, which we assumed would encompass a certain level of inspection. Contrary to our expectations, the technician arrived and insisted that we pay $80 plus tax merely for his travel to our location. Surprisingly, he emphasized that the fee was warranted due to an alleged one-hour drive to our premises.

The situation left us baffled, given that the company's communication led us to believe the visitation fee would include some form of assessment. Unfortunately, we were unable to proceed with the quoted service, as the $400 expense for just inspection was not within our budget. It's disappointing that we ended up having to pay $80+tax solely for the technician's commute, especially since no on-site work or inspection was conducted.

I recently had a DIY disaster on Fathers Day. I called Master Plumbers who had someone at my house around 9:30 the next morning. Brandon and Jacob were polite, prompt and very professional. They fully explained my options and went over the various charges. While I have no intentions on attempting this sort of DIY in the future, I would definitely call them if I needed a plumber in the future 😊

Joel & Brandon came out today to do our Winter Service on our heating system, Just Great Technicians. All the courtesies of putting shoe covers on to asking about the system. They were able to correct a minor issue that could have turned into a major problem. They did not rush through the service call just First Class Service from start to finish. The office staff called and sent emails reminders prior to the service call and informed us when the Technicians were 15 Minutes from our home.

My experience from start to finish was fantastic. I requested service online at like 4am and received a call back at 7:30am. There was availability same day but we scheduled for the next day. I received a confirmation email and text and a call the morning before the technician arrived. I was sent the technicians info including a picture of him. Brandon was my technician. He was amazing! He did an inspection, found the things I needed fixed, and gave me several different options on what services I wanted. He did not make me feel pressured into paying for unnecessary services. He explained everything to me thoroughly and got to work. My appt was at 8am and he was done with everything by 2:30ish. This included installation of a new hot water tank, installation of 2 new toilets, and fixing a leak. Brandon did have help from a few other guys and they all were great! The whole crew worked together to get the job done and we’re very efficient! I will definitely use them for future jobs!

The technician was doing the work identified by the city’s inspector on the air conditioner. He was great. He knew exactly what to do.

Called for just an estimate for the job. Was charged for two technicians. Only one was needed the other one just stood by and never said a word. Also I was never told there was a charge for an estimate. Not impressed!!

Today I received from Brandon and Ray. They were very professional and very patient with me. Asking so much question about service and warranty. Once I agree with service prices they work without wasting time, clean, organized. At the beginning I taught how expensive these services are, but they work fast, very organized and left working area clean I honestly think it worth it. Including all those little things and warranties. I recommend it.

Rey was the master plumber that came out to our home. He was kind, courteous, professional and fast. Repairing a plumbing leak inside a wall is a pain from a homeowner’s perspective, but Rey was very helpful in navigating the issue and the job site was left clean. We would recommend him to anyone.

If I could give this company 0 stars I would. The first appointment made a week in advance was canceled for an emergency - which I can understand. They came the next day. All I Wanted was two faucets and a dispose all installed - and I had all the parts. They took pictures and went back out to the truck for 15 minutes while one of the men walked the neighborhood and put advertising on doors. I finally went out to the truck and asked what they were doing. He said he was figuring the cost. I asked what he had come up with and he said $3,500. I was flabbergasted to say to say the least. That is ridiculous! Never call this company! I just got a quote to replace all my outside lighting and it wasn't that much. That would take two days work and included all the lights and wiring.
Update -Two days later Edward and Mills Plumbing did the job in a little over an hour for $384!

Our tech and the office staff was amazing!! He was on time, knowledgeable and able to provide rationale for each needed service. He came to our home equipped to do all recommended services. The service call was also a reasonable price. I appreciate that. The only reason why I could not give 5 star service was because my estimate was in the thousands and up for a constantly running toilet.

Extremely overpriced, took advantage of me. Even when I asked nobody explained to me how payment works, now I’m getting letters in the mail from some random bank with extra fees. I tried to talk to the manager and he told me that they couldn’t get me the prices of what they paid on parts. I left an email asking him to explain how to make my payments and no response after a week. Finally get around to calling and he’s not in the office. Techs were so nice, buttered me up and slapped a giant price tag on it. I’m a young girl who was home alone and I didn’t know any better. Lesson learned, do your research and don’t trust a word they say. Don’t get scammed like I did.

There was a drainage problem. A huge problem. They worked faithfully until it was resolved. They took their time and did not appear to be weary or disgusted. They also kept us abreast of the issue during the process. Very polite and professional. We will definitely use them again if needed.

I needed immediate service on a leaking faucet and Ray was the only one I called who could give me same day service. He was very thorough and got the job done quickly. It was a much more expensive repair than I initially thought but appreciated the detailed report card of the repair. If cost wasn’t as high I would have given a 5 star.

This is a very honest, straight forward and friendly company with expert people working for them. David was excellent! They have a great warranty, use top products and made sure I was happy with the entire experience. Lee, a P1 Master plumber has hired and trained a crew that is first class. Lee also made me at ease that the job and services were worth every dollar I spent.

Excellent service on a very challenging job. There were tree roots all up in my pipes inside and out and the existing piping had been installed completely wrong. In one day all my inside pipes were replaced and the two gentlemen stayed very late doggedly working their way through the roots saving me probably $10k. I couldn't be happier and can not more strongly recommend for them!

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY, PRICE GOUGERS, OVERPRICED. I called them out to quote a replacement of 2 outdoor spigots, a very easy and simple job. The last time the spigots were replaced it was under $100, took 5 minutes, and the plumber didn't even turn off the water supply - BECAUSE IT IS EASY. No new plumbing or lines, just sliding in a new part to existing lines. The guys were desperate to do a full home inspection but I wouldn't let them ... and then they pushed a membership ... and again pushed for an inspection, no - I just need the faucets. I asked them if they could just fix the spigot washers (bc that is really all that is wrong) and they said we don't work on other people's stuff. Uhhhh, ok, so they only work on houses where they installed the plumbing or this was a money grab. They went to their van to work up options and returned a quote for $1,471 for one spigot and $2,200 for the other!! Angi said it should be $300 and the next day a (real) plumber quoted $200 for both - THAT IS A $3,400 DIFFERENCE!!!!!! No wonder they were desperate to do an inspection so they could fake things that were wrong and jack up the bill. I paid the $90 service call to get rid of them and asked them to leave. I would give them negative stars if I could. Thank goodness I'm not as ignorant as they must think I am. There's a special place for companies like this who prey on people ....

The plumbers came to give me a quote within 24 hours and gave me many options, explained the price breakdowns well, and outlined the timeline and the process for the job. Very pleased with the speed and thoroughness. Will review again when the work is complete!

Were at my home on time. Identified themselves before entering my home placed footies on to prevent from dirting my floors, they were very polite and explained their process for diagnosing my issue. Rey explained Master Plumbers reporting process and explained to me the best route to take to find out where the foul order was coming from in side my home. Part of Masters process is to look at all potential areas that could possibly causing a problem. I appreciate he and Joel taking their time and giving their opinions on what the problem may be. A test was performed and the problem was found. I cannot express how happy I am with Master Plumbers. In fact I cancelled my current contract with another company and signed up with Master Plumbers to service my home on a yearly basis. Master Plumbers offers a home warranty maintenance plan that is much affordable.
I also want to Thank Cammie for expediting the house call so quickly. Fannie was very polite and courteous. Again Thank-you Master Plumbers. I plan to tell all my friends about my experience with you!

They said all my wiring had burnt out and I needed a new water heater and pressure pot. And I need to join a club. An hour later I had a real plumber out who fixed one wire at minimal charge, and said I have many years of service still coming from the water heater. Never use these people.

Brandon and Greg did amazing job replacing a water pressure tank. I have worked with Brandon on two separate occasions with plumbing issues at my home. Brandon has been very professional and knowledgeable about his job I will most definitely use this company again in the future if needed.

Let me be very clear, the technician that performed the service was very professional at all times and the work completed was done very well. My review is not an indictment on his completed work but rather the overall value of the services. When I called Masters Plumbers I knew the exact issue needing to be addressed. I had a leaking toilet shut off valve and toilet that was still partially clogged. When I called the office to schedule the appointment she clearly explained that the trip would incur an $85 trip charge regardless of service. It has been my experience with other types of service providers that these trip charges are absorbed if you agree to having work completed but this would later turn out to not be the case with Masters Plumbers (and my mistake for not clarifying). Upon arrival, rather than preparing an estimate for the requested work, I had to wait while they performed an entire house inspection of every toilet, valve, sink, shower, water heater and washer. This seems to be their common business practice for new customers. However, this took about 40 minutes then another 20 or so to prepare my options to replace everything uncovered by the inspection. I was appalled to find out that it would cost an additional $257 to replace the shut off valve and that they wanted me to pay another $220 to have them snake the toilet!! Now stuck, because to call another provider I would incur another service/trip charge, I agreed to the valve replacement only (you can rent a snake from Home Depot for $25 for crying out loud). The valve replacement took less than 15 minutes, which I am sure is attributed to the years of experience of the technician, again whom I have no issues with, but he tried to explain that the cost of the service was so high because of the guarantee of the part replacement. The guarantee being only 1 year for a part that was just replaced at 45 years old...I'm sure I will see the benefit of that guarantee. I am extremely disappointed by the cost of the services provided by Masters Plumbers and will be seeking help from another vendor for future services.

Although i have not had any repairs done yet (appointment set) , I can comment on Almond, the gentleman who came for the initial service call today. He arrived early and was very professional. He was very knowledgeable of the job to be done and answered all of my questions to the point that i am comfortable with the upcoming process. He is an asset to the business. From the setting the appointment with Velvet, to the service call, this has been a pleasant experience.

Brandon did an excellent job doing a comprehensive inspection of all the plumbing in the house. He then put together 5 different options,( based on budget) to help put a plan into place to repair and upgrade all of our plumbing.

Almond and an apprentice arrived on time, were friendly, professional, and went right to work to try to figure out the issue at my home. We had a delivery guy break a water line while installing a fridge as well as turn off main water and water heater. Lee from Master Plumbing came out within an hour and not only fixed all issues, he went above and beyond and explained how to tell if we had a leak, cleared out the shower heads, told us why one of the toilets was running, talked about the dryer vent issue we have all without charging extra. He even called us back twice to make sure everything was OK. Great guy and perfect customer service. Call these people first and always!
