Gil provided preventive maintenance on two units at my residence.He was thorough, respectful of our home and advised that the dual capacitor was out of spec. I declined repair as I have a home warranty to cover such repairs.I appreciate his timely and courteous service!!
They tried to rip me off big time. The technician said the evaporator coil had to be replaced and quoted me at over $2800 for the job. They priced the coil alone (no labor) at over $2000. This is a $200-$500 part. When I asked him why he would charge me such a ridiculous price for the part he said, It's not me saying this, it's ARS. Basically he was telling me that he knew the company had outrageous pricing, but he was just a technician and had no control over it. Got several other quotes for the same job all around $1500-1600. Also, the tech never even looked at the outside portion of the system to make sure it was all functioning properly. Shady as they come.
Xabier was on time (he called ahead), was very knowledgable, efficient, informative as to what he was observing and doing, and client-oriented (answered all questions, didn't mind me hovering while he worked). We were very pleased and Highly recommend.
Josh has been our HVAC tech for MANY years and has always done a great job. We appreciate his honesty and friendliness. We always specifically request Josh to do our annual maintenance checkup.

They are a rip off. Over charge people for example a $50. Filter they will charge you $250 for the same exact filter.
During an annual service visit, the service person found some things and suggested that we set up an appointment with another of their people, which we did. The salesperson was genial and professional but did not arrive within the timeframe that we were given, which took up our whole day. In addition, what we expected to be a visit for an estimate turned out to be a kind of sales assault in which the representative walked around a bit and then presented us with prices and monthly payment plans and wouldn't leave until ended up negotiating the price for an installation with his guy on the phone who kept talking about overstock and other malarkey. While we agreed to an installation, we resent the high-pressure sales approach, and we especially don't like it when it's brought into our home. This is an approach that especially victimizes low-information customers (which all have been at one time or another for some purchase) and women who live alone. Here's a suggestion: When someone says he or she needs time to think about their decision, pack up your stuff and get your ARS the heck out and let the customer have the time needed to think about the decision. Chances are really good that they'll come back to you. If not, then keep it moving.
Josh Baker came to do a routine maintenance and was efficient and thorough.
He found 2 things that needed immediate attention and is taking care of them.
Serviceman arrived entered the crawl space, asked how old the unit was (1 year). Came out from the crawl space with the filter and then proceeded to inform me they don’t replace air filters under their highest priced maintenance agreement that we have, and that it would cost $135.00 for him to change it. I said I would take care of it myself. He then left leaving the filter on the ground and left without doing any maintenance on the system. I called the company and was informed that they would look into it but has so far not gotten back with me. I had to go into the crawl space and replace the filter myself and put the hvac back together. Very poor customer service and experience.

We were going to have them come out to check the AC Unit at the house. We cancelled the appointment and told them we have someone else we are going with. They continued to call for weeks. Almost every 2-3 days within the first 3 hours in the morning each time. They would never leave a voicemail to ask for the business or to tell me why they are calling. I get enough spam calls as it is and at first thought maybe they have someone spoofing their calls. Turns out they just cannot put notes on their customers and stop calling when the services we denied and we did not request anything further. I would not use them in the future or suggest them to someone because of this.

Jeff that came out was great. He explained things and answered all my questions. Their scheduling is terrible. It took 3 different appointments to get them here. Only hours after appointment time, they called to say they would not be coming.

Install team was on time and had everything replaced and working by the afternoon. They were neat, and cleaned up afterward, couldn’t tell they were ever there. Very respectful of our property.
Awful service in response for a simple request. Had to make 4 different calls over a 2+ weeks time frame just to get some technician notes. Every time I called, I was told that my documents were emailed or would be emailed to me. Left a voice mail for a Lora Holly whom I was told to call and ask for....never got a return call. For a company that prides themselves with a motto of Exceptional service provider they are far from that motto.

WOW! Based on our experience, we have no idea how this company has so many positive reviews. [Read on]We made an appointment due to our home heating up gradually until it was unbearable. $100 diagnostic fee. No problem. I’m a small business owner, I understand that you have to charge to diagnose for your time.The tech was a nice gentlemen. No problem there…Apparently a leak was discovered in our coolant lines and it would be necessary to add more coolant (3lbs) and we would need to have the lines replaced.Their Estimate indicated coolant was over $200 per pound. So, well over $600 for the 3lbs we needed. A simple Google search will show you, coolant is nowhere near this expensive.Additionally, the cost to repair/replace the leaking lines would be $1900.Hard Pass. NOPE. We called Thermostat Masters, paid $60 for the diagnostic. They discovered a leak on the compressor’s stub out line. Additionally, they took the time to realize that the compressor was still under warranty…The tech said he could fill with gas to try to hold us over, but couldn’t guarantee the timeline. How much is their gas you ask? A whopping $75/lb…Hey ARS, you should ask where Thermostat Masters is getting their gas from. You could be saving your customers some money.Additionally, the compressor is under warranty, so no cost on the part. We only paid labor for install costs.If you work hard for your money and don’t enjoy people taking advantage of others, I would call someone else. I will never contact ARS for any repairs and I’ll be sure to share this experience with my friends, neighbors and family.
We called ARS to schedule the regulsr summer maintenance done on our two heat pumps. Appointment was set up, the technician, Driss, arrived promptly. Very thorough, replaced uv lamps, found a couple of deteriorating components, pointed them out and replsced them. Very satisfied with the work

Gilberto was awesome! A consummate professional, he helped me understand the benefits of installing an air scrubber in an old home so I purchased one.
BEWARE!!!! This company grossly overcharges for parts. They quoted me $1141 for a motor for the condenser and $305 for a dual capacitor. Thinking that this sounded like a lot I called a few other places to find that the same motor for $295 and the capacitor for $130. That' s over $1000 difference. Stay away, beware, danger Will Robinson. I wouldn't even give it 1 star if that were an option.
ARS AC diagnosis was completely wrong. The technician said the evaporator coil was leaking and had to be replaced. He checked the outside unit and said it was completely out of Freon. It is only 18 months old and was used only one season. He quoted me over $1840 labor for installing a warranty provided coil. I paid my $59 diagnosis fee and then got a quote for the same job from Stewart's H&V for $1040. The Stewart technician checked the unit for Freon and said it was fully charged and that there was most likely a metering problem with the TXV valve. He then did a complete leak check first by pressurizing the system and then drawing a vacuum on the system and confirmed there were no leaks. He replaced the TXV valve, rebalanced the Freon and the unit runs perfectly. Charged $340 for the service call and labor only.

Newer AC wasn’t cooling. ARS came out and said we need a new. Part ($4000) under warranty but $2500 for labor. Asked how long it would take to install and reply was 4 to 5 hours, but that’s a standard labor cost. Decided to get a second opinion from another company. Pressure in acoil was perfect. Nothing wrong with AC. Might have had a damper stick and that self corrected after unit thawed out. NO repair needed! Highly recommend you get a second opinion when using ARS for a potentially expensive repair.

We had an exceptional customer service experience with the team that was sent out to do work at our home by ARS/Rescue Rooter. We thought that we might be able to single out the one who was most diligent but they all seemed to have a very clear knowledge of the jobs they were assigned to do and an impressive understanding of all the interrelated tasks. Garrett, Pedro, Harry, Jeff, and Arturo are quite a remarkable team - clearly their A-Team.

I had a 12 to 4 window with two ARS representatives, Donny for A/C replacement and Richard for water heater replacement. Both arrived on time and were professional and friendly. They explained what they had to do, measurements, inspections, etc. After completing their surveys that sat down and explained options. Donny convinced me to go with a Rheem A/C verses a Trans because it worked best with my furnace, also a Rheem. I am very satisfied with both agents as I have been ARS for years. ARS has provided high quality service for all my heat, A/C and plumbing needs for over a decade. I highly recommend ARS.

**WARNING! DO NOT TRUST THE TECHS THAT WORK FOR THIS COMPANY!!I called them to come fix my A/C unit. They gave me an appointment time of 9am-1pm, but the tech didnt show up until 2:15pm. Then he performed his diagnostic and stated that my compressor was not right for the system, that my voltage was off, and that i needed a brand new system. He charged me $106 for the diagnostic. Then, a work friend of mine who has been in HVAC for 30 years, looked at it and determined it to be a thermostat problem. He fixed it in 15 minutes, we now have cool air in our house.Bottom line: DO NOT TRUST THEM. The tech was there to sell me an A/C unit and make his wallet bigger. He was NOT there to fix the actual problem. To ARS Rescue Rooters credit, they told me they will give me a refund and will investigate the technician who did this, which is good customer service on their part. But they need to clean house with these techs that are taking advantage of people and ensure their business doesnt support this kind of behavior.

We had a 9-11 time slot this morning. When no one showed by 10:45am, I called. Told the tech would be there in the next 45 minutes. No one showed. Called again. Told tech is on the way. No one showed. Called again. Tech on way. No one showed. Called at 2pm. Told tech be there in 30 minutes. Had other things to do so I had to cancel and reschedule. Also communication from dispatch left a lot to desire.
ARS has been our a/c company for over 10 years and have always given us great service. When our old system needed replacing, they installed the newest, most efficient and quiet system out. Josh came out and made sure everything was in perfect working order, and our house was perfectly tidy afterward! He is highly-skilled, conscientious and professional. Highly Recommend!

The service tech was great. Our initial call was to repair some ductwork that had come loose from the register. We did also set up the maintenance. The ductwork issue was not on the tech’s order, so he did not know about that until he arrived here. He did fix the problem, but he did not have the things he needed to fix it. He had to reuse items that were on the ductwork. The gentleman that took the original order was more interested in telling about service contracts than getting the order correct.

CON: I needed an entire AC system with an air handler. The initial quotes were high. I arm wrestled the sales guy for a while and got the price down to what I thought was reasonable. I just wanted a basic AC/heater system.PRO: The guys came out to install the AC unit and the air handler in the crawlspace. I watched them the entire time and they did an excellent job. It was a lot of work to remove the old air handler from under the house and it was a lot of work to install the new one.It took the entire day but when it was all done the installation looked professional and they verified everything worked before they left.You just need to get through the sales upselling on a new installation. If you feel the quote is too high, then you should seek a second quote. I was able to get the cost down to where I thought it was reasonable. The actual installation was a top notch job. :)
My heat stopped working and ARS sent someone out ASAP. Christian was very helpful and he fixed the problem quickly. He was friendly and explained all of my options thoroughly.
ARS is my go to when I have HVAC issues. They installed 2 units for me 3 years ago and perform all my maintenance. Customer support is always excellent. I have been with ARS for almost 20 years and had pot in 4 different sets of units in the past 20 years . I was almost ready to stop service with them until my recent yearly preventive and talk with their technician Joe S . He was very professional and kind and immediately went to one of the head supervisors and that he explained that other technicians had not given me the quality of service that should have been given to me with my units that were not quite two years old . Joe went above and beyond and helped me with my issues and I am now very pleased with my service with ARS AND will be asking for only Joe to service my units for preventive yearly service or other issues that might occur but I hope that will not happen . I have to say that I do feel like getting the correct technician and the same one for service makes all the difference .

Jose Dimas has helped us many times. He is a pleasure to work with. It is obvious that he really cares about the service he is providing. He provides community building work and I would not hesitate to recommend him. I tell people to request him by name because my experiences have been 100% positive with him. He explains every step with detailed descriptions and makes sure to initial his work for future reference. Thanks so much, Jose.Although I think that Jose is great and have never felt like he was pressuring us to purchase from ARS, ARS in general does come off as trying to oversell their services when you purchase a new HVAC from them and/or get maintenance through them. ARS could definitely back off from the 'sales strategies'. They would be perceived less like a huge corporation doing business in a way that may not actually be in the customer's best interests financially and more like a community service provider that gives personal consideration of their customer's needs and means.

Contacted ARS rescue rooter of Durham to have them fix the heater that stopped working. I got a quote for $2700 to repair. I thought it was too high. I ended up replacing the pressure sensor for less than $30 dollars myself in less than 10 minutes!!! I posted my experience on Nextdoor and I was so surprised to have a huge response with people saying basically they had the same experience or they just want you to buy a new one instead of fixing it. Stay away from ARS.

I feel that the quotes for parts were outrages . I had a consultation for new unit scheduled for 3 pm and Andrew told me it normally last for at least 1 hour and 30 minutes, the person that scheduled my appointment started they would call before coming out. I never received a call nor did anyone show up. I paid for a service and to be told he couldn't put any coolant in my unit outside because he didn't have any made no sense to me. This was the first technician to come to my house and not even go outside and look at my unit or service it with coolant, he just checked inside the house only. It shouldn't matter that it's an older unit it still works fine I replaced fan just 3 yrs. $4370.00 is a lot of money to spend on evaporator coil with out getting a few more estimates. To bad I didn't receive all the bad reviews before contacting this company.
I should come here and do a review long time ago, but today they have the nerve to call me again to offer me they tune up service. What a joke.O march 27 of this year they came to my place, fix my ac and charge me 1503,00.Invoice number 5319587Man, I was happy. Technician say I should be ok for a long time, since I choose to pay for a recommended AC renew oil treatment that cost me $ 708,00 on the top of the work they have done.After a month, AC is not working again. Call them, since they told me I have a warranty.Well, a different technician arrive this time, from this same company and told me that I need a new unit, and believe or not, say the previous technician, from his own company, should not have done what he did to fix my unit.I ask if will be credit for what I already paid for, and off course, the answer was no.However, he told me they will be really happy to set up a appointment to sell me a new unit.So nice of them don't you think? Already rip me off in 1500 and want to get more...Can you trust a scam company like that????I don't think so.And they keep calling me, and I keep telling the callers the history of what they did, and ask if they plan to give my money back. Just for fun.Off course, the people who call get surprised and kind of disoriented with the conversation. But they keep calling, what prove that they are no only incompetents but also very disorganized and probably manage by a bunch of idiots.Stay away from them.
They replaced my coils on the unit. This was all under warranty. However it coat me a lot still.. There is no warranty! Then the tech that did the work. Totally has the unit panels messed up. The unit before all this started never made the sounds it does now...Also the tech that came out for the noise never told how bad of a job was done..

ARS installed our HVAC in our newly built townhouse. We noticed an imbalance of air. They sent us a technician right away. I felt bad that I forgot his name. He is very courteous and polite. He was super nice to teach everything that I should know about the HVAC system. He spent time showing and explaining to me what I should know as a homeowner. He is very skilled and knowledgeable of his job. I would highly recommend ARS.

Not a great experience due to feeling pressured to buy a new AC unit and I did not feel that the tech performed the necessary tests to figure out the issue with my unit. The customer concerns representative (Laura I believe) was fantastic and very understanding of my scenario. She issued a full refund for the work that didn't fulfill my satisfaction.

ARS has been providing maintenance service for my HVAC unit for the past 8 years, and I have had at least 6-8 different service technicians come to inspect and maintain the unit; each one has shown to be technically competent and personable, offering clear explanations when certain parts needed to be replaced
The teck was very nice guy knew what he was doing would like to have him ever time give him a raise to keep him good workers are hard to find and he is a great worker and even better man
Michael Holmes is one of the nicest persons one could ever meet. He is obviously very knowledgeable within his field of work. It started with the Salesman had he not been so down to earth and answer all of our questions we wouldn’t have gone any further. When the installers came they were early which I liked. They were very professional and courteous. Everything was explained in detail from beginning to end. The only thing would’ve made it better is if the 10 yr warranty was transferable.

BEWARE! BEWARE!Against my better judgement I called ARS because my AC was not cooling properly. First disappointment: they gave me a date and then called me on that day which was a Monday after being hot all weekend I couldn’t wait till Monday. They said they can come Thursday. I said no. I said that I would find someone else. Oh then they scheduled me for the next day. The next day the technician shows up at 8:00PM. He gave me a false name. Found out after reviewing my statement and the fake name was even on his uniform shirt. Then he tells me he doesn’t have the correct supplies in his truck to do the proper job but no worries. He will come back he said. Give me until Monday. Wow almost an entire week! So I went ahead and paid almost $300.00 for a job not done well. He didn’t have the correct bolts but he patched me up with plastic ones instead of steel bolts. My bad!! I shouldn’t have paid until the job was done correctly. So by the following Wednesday of course he hasn’t returned and I called the office. Nobody has heard of this person! Of course he gave me a fake name!!! Using their uniform! But they did find my work done on that date plus now I had found my receipt and noticed his correct name, and they did agree the job was not finished. What does ARS offer me??? Two options: A) This tech is out sick and wait until he returns which no one knew when that would be orB) we will send someone else out and bill you for the visit and for the work. I tapped my phone and switched ears. I couldn’t believe what this person was offering me. Well I became very upset and told her that neither option was acceptable. After going back and forth she scheduled someone to come out and finish the job free of charge like she’s doing me a favor! No apologies to a paying customer for their awful customer service.They came out and did finish the job and without charging me. Now no one should have to pay almost $300.00 to have a job not finished correctly, lied to about their name and then have to be distressed about getting someone out here more than a week later to finish the job. I didn’t give them a 1 star because they did return but 2 stars is very generous. I will never call them again! Never!!! Horrific experience from the tech to their customer service. They’re very nice when you call to schedule and even the tech when they come out. But if something goes wrong get ready to pay or fight for what’s its their job and their obligation to you. Lesson learned. Never again!

12/9/22. Called the company because my unit stopped working over in the middle of the night. The tech showed up late and wasn’t able to assist. He referred me to an electrician.I was told they would escalate to a manager. No manager has called me yet.I have been calling daily due to no heat! I have been scheduled appointments and still no heat 12/26/22.
Simo did an excellent job servicing our ARS systems yesterday, and he was especially helpful and patient answering our questions about our NEST thermostat. We were very appreciative! Hope to see Simo again in the future!Ted
Excessive and abusive is how I would describe this outfit. The service person was rude. The part they claimed needed to be installed costs 30.00 online and took 5 min to install. The charge was over 250.00 for the part charge-- under the warranty agreement. The really crazy thing is that after the part was installed, several days passed and I kept wondering why I was so overheated. The guy never even clicked the unit back on after he changed out the part that wasn't broken.Had to blow out to rip off the next customer on the list.

My sister had them install a new AC/Heating system a few years back and she has had problems ever since they have installed it. I will never recommend ARS cause they should stand by their products. My sister is a single mom and it doesn't make since she is having so many problems. I reccomend going with someone else.
Fast and professional service, extremely responsive, and I had a new hvac system completely installed within days while it normally takes weeks to get on a schedule at other businesses. Thanks for the great produce and service.

The appointment was changed and the cancelled. A technician showed up but then was ready to leave and I had to stop him. ARS installed the unit 18 months ago and now it has failed. They say it’s under warranty… but want to charge $700 in labor to fix it. It’s only the fan motor and it’s a 30 minute job for a slow tech. Can’t understand why it’s so much money for 30 minutes.
They were out fast and had my A/C working quickly and at a fair price. Would definitely recommend

Highway robbery at its best, here at ARS! I called ARS's 24/7 emergency line to get my AC back up and running. Their emergency response was we'll send someone out to fix it tomorrow. Good thing for that emergency line... I explained to the receptionist that I had tried replacing my thermostat, but the wiring was too short to hookup the new unit. She says no problem, we'll get that taken care of tomorrow. 24 hours later with no AC (July in NC), I receive a (late) call from Jeff, a service technician, who says that he can only come out if I buy their thermostat (for a small one time fee of $200) in addition to the install. It would have been nice to have known this when I initially set up the service appointment and my family and dogs went an entire day without AC. Thanks ARS! Be smart, read the other negative reviews listed here. They have a history of doing this to their customers.UPDATE 08/01/15Shortly after posting this review, I received calls from two individuals with ARS, asking me to amend my review. I am disappointed that it took a negative review to get attention for my problem. I am also disappointed that instead of owning responsibility for your mistake, your response to my google review has given the appearance that my service appointment was either incorrectly set up in your system (or never setup at all). I find it hard to believe that you couldn't locate me in your records, as I received 2 follow up calls (which were made only after I posted this review).

I scheduled to have ARS to come out and give an estimate on installing a new ductless system in my bonus room. After waiting around for several hours on the day of my appointment and ARS not showing, I finally gave them a call. I was told that all though they scheduled an appointment, they would not send someone out until a manager had called to discuss the specifics. I received no calls from ARS prior to the appointment, and thus no one was sent out to my house. ARS succeeded in wasting my afternoon.I ended up using a competitor of ARS in the Triangle area. Unless you enjoy missing work to wait around on ARS to not show for their appointment, I suggest you do the same.

BEWARE of ARS/Rescue Rooter Durham. We recently had our heat go out over a weekend and called ARS/Rescue Rooter mainly because they were the only company we could get ahold of on a Saturday. The technician completed the inspection and told us we had a blower motor and a control board out. Come Monday the company called us and quoted us at about $3.5k to replace those items, offering financing options of course. We thought this quote was fairly high, so after asking around for a week or so my husband happened to know a guy who knows a guy who does this type of work. He came out and said only the control board needed to be replaced, the blower motor was fine, and that the replacement board is about $50. So… beware of ARS/Rescue Rooter Durham. They will try to swindle you.

Travis was courteous and respectful. He was polite and did the job in a timely fashion. He unfortunately was stung by a swarm of bees who were hidden under some plastic piping near my external heating system and although not seriously hurt, he did warn me of the hive in case I personally was allergic to bees! In spite of that he did take care of my heating unit and remained professional at all times.
I had a wonderful experience working with ARS. Bernice was extremely helpful and cheerful when setting my appointment.
I would recommend ARS to anyone needing service or to replace thier system

Donny stopped by to offer a replacement LP Gas heater unit, as our old Trane was in need of a lot of repair. He said that Rheem unit he was bidding on was better than the Trane. ALL MY LIFE it has been Trane. But he seemed to me to be honest. So I bought a new unit. WOW - what a difference. In our 14 years in NC we never experience heat like that. I have NO idea why or what - but the unit provided us heat - HOT Air. Yes, the Trance was LP, and the new is LP. The installers were quiet and worked away. Im happy with Donny.

Gilberto quickly figured out what was wrong with my new Carrier heating and AC unit. Unfortunately it had not been connected correctly by the installers from ARS and as soon as the weather turned cold would not get above 63 degrees in the house. Gilberto (who was not the installer) fixed it immediately and so far so good.
Simo is very polite,well spoken and is very thorough. He took out the time to make sure i knew every detail about what i needed to do to prevent future complications as well as informing me about the home owners plan. I thank Mr.Simo for his hospitality and putting myself as his customer first

Jacqueline (Jackie) L. provided the best customer service experience. Our NEW unit is little over a year old and our heat has stopped working. The tech came out accessed the problem and provided a quote. We were frustrated and confused about the quote we received . We asked for the person we needed to talk to about this astronomical quote on a fairly new unit. I called Jackie and explained the situation. She was very courteous, understanding, and fair! Before I spoke to Jackie we decided, due to this repair quote, we were going to another company for service going forward. It is great to know you can express your concerns and there is someone who listens to your concerns and understands your point of view as the customer. The issue was resolved instantaneously. She suggested how to make this right and in the end we were more than happy!! AMAZING EXPERIENCE!! Everyone needs a Jackie in their company.

I called ARS to request service for a home central A/C unit that was still under warranty. Christian arrived within the scheduled time and quickly diagnosed the problem. While Christian didn't have the parts required in his truck to make a final repair, he was able to make a temporary fix to keep the unit working while the needed parts were ordered. In less than 2 weeks I was contacted by ARS and told that my parts had arrived and I made an appointment for the next day. Once again Christian arrived withing the scheduled time and installed the replacement parts to make the final permanent repair. All done under warranty.Christian was always courteous, tidy and thorough. He left no messes and demonstrated a very competent skill set in his diagnosis and repairs.All in all, I am well pleased with the services provided by ARS.

I called this company to help fix my Central Air HVAC. The tech was 1 and a half hours late. I was told I have a bad contactor, bad dual run capacitor, and I would also need a starter kit for my condenser unit. The tech literally quoted me 1800 dollars to fix it. I can buy all those parts online for under 200 dollars in online stores? WHY ARE YOU PRICE GOUGING? Labor does not cost that much. This company indulges in shady business practices. BUYER BEWARE. If you are apart of this company and want me to take down my review, send me a justification for your absurd pricing and explain to me how you are not taking advantage of people that are not tech savvy. ill be waiting for your reply as I order the parts to fix this myself no thanks to you.

Gilberto Olivo was very professional and knowledgeable when explaining my thermostat issues. He also introduced me to a new way to control my thermostat using a smartphone.
I was pounced on by these people in Home Depot. They were offering a $9.00 inspection. That was when I should've know better. My HVAC system WAS working with no issue, but he found defective items with a bill of over $6000. He suggested with that price I should buy a new furnace. The parts he said needing replacing....part#1: $1,600k (found on www for $166.) item#2, $400. (found on www for $43.)... Item#3 $438. (found on www for $79.).I was able to get my system working again after I found their Tech disconnected a wire to run his tests and didn't put the wire back on its connector properly. Thus his crazy diagnosis that he was unable to get my furnace to turn on. Thank goodness we were able to fix what he caused.I should've read the reviews before I let this company into my home. My bad.UPDATE::::::::::(1) Lady there is no reason for me to contact you. I caught your dishonesty and YOUR company invited me to review you and I did, HONESTY.(2) I brought someone else in today. They found nothing wrong with the parts your technician said was my problem. ($6000. worth of a repair)(3) BUT>>> your tech missed that the units' motherboard was my problem. a $334. repair.Well this is one senior citizen that didn't get sucked in.. Keep the $10.00, you must need it more then I.How do you people sleep at night?

A.....Real...S#!+show is what ARS should stand for!!!Not sure who is giving them 4.5 stars on Google but maybe it's from a time when they actually provided quality service. We wish we would have looked at Yelp as well before being lured in by ARS at Home Depot.What started off as a simple promotional system check of a furnace turned into a personal nightmare, back and forth communication and several service techs in and out of our home during covid (which we really hated). Now 13 months later we are still fighting for a resolution as my system is now damaged thanks to these guys.As you read the reviews here you will see the auto response from ARS is to reach out to Lora and we have already been in touch with her. SHE REALLY DOES EXIST everyone lol. She is a real person and she does try to get a resolve for you but I think she is limited in what she can do.If you are in Home Depot and these guys approach you... RUN!!! Do not get desperate enough to Google them and have them come out. You are better off getting on YouTube and figuring out how to fix your own system!

Ken gave a good competitive price on a new gas pack. Since our old one had a bad main control board and used coolant that would not be available in 2020 we decided go ahead and replace it. The ARS Rescue Rooter crew showed up at 9 AM and did a great job installing the new one. They ran into preexisting issues with the old return air ducts and a preexisting issue with the main supply air duct so the last guy did not leave until after 6 PM. At the end I had a system that worked a lot better at no extra cost so I'm not complaining. The only thing I wished is that they had asked me is about preexisting carbon monoxide detectors. The preexisting smoke detector upstairs is also a CO detector but not clearly labeled as such so I now have 2 CO detectors above the stair well. The one thing the permit inspector looked for first I will say is CO detectors. I will recommend ARS Rescue Rooter highly to my neighbors in the future.

My experience with ARS was both good and bad. The first tech Alfredo, I feel he tried to rip me off. He said I had a bad TX Valve and the price would be $1,104 to replace it. After fifteen minutes of looking around. I do not believe he knew what he was doing. I said to him I have not even lived here a year. And the AC unit was under warranty for two years. I was then told only the parts were covered for a year from the time of installation. Really ?... No one at the office had a clue what was going on. Except Laura she kept on top of everything and kept me informed of the part that needed to be ordered and when it would be to install. Turns out it is a common defect with the TX Valve. I had to spend two nights in a hotel because the heat was unbearable. Then a new technician came. MIKE what a great guy professional and courteous. He was here for over four hours, burning up inside the house and outside in the sun. He did not complain once and did not leave until the job was done. Great job Mike! Glad to know there are still a few honest people in the world.

It's a shame that there has been so many problems with this new expensive system in 1 yr. I have had to have someone come out repeatedly in 1 yr. They claim my old system was bad, but at least that system lasted 5 years before breaking down. One repairman even admitted they didn't replace everything like they should have. Now I'm stuck with expensive repairs that are not covered under the warranties.

Mike, the tech, showed up on time. A call was made to me before he arrived. He was very professional and completed the service in a timely manor. After he finished, he went over all the results and suggested when my next service should occur.

Great folks and always professional. Highest recommendations for the professional folks at ARS. My only problem has been the actual HVAC equipment installed, not the great folks who put it in. We had an entire brand new HVAC system installed by ARS in 2014. Since then, we have had at least one freon leak every year, sometimes two. We have also had to have the zone system electronics replaced. The auto-condensate feature failed and the crawl space filled with moisture which resulted in me renting a big de-humidifier. An evaporator failed which would have cost over $2,000 had ARS not had a special meeting and decided to replace it for free. Every year this HVAC system looms in the back of my mind and I wonder what will happen next. I also wonder how long ARS will keep gracefully replacing these components at little or no charge to me. You go and buy an expensive HVAC system and generally these things just require a few yearly checkups. These are hermetically sealed systems and should not keep leaking unless there is a problem. Several of the problems we had fixed were manufacturer defects. Just be careful because even if the factory part is covered in the warranty, generally the labor to fix it is not. ARS installed our new HVAC system about two years ago. When it stopped working last week, we had them come back to see what was wrong. Some drainage tubing was clogged, and the total bill for the repair was $450.42. The part which they replaced cost less than $50 on Amazon. It was an easy enough job that I could’ve done it if I weren’t out of town. We never experienced a problem with clogged piping in all the years that we had our previous HVAC system, which makes me wonder whether ARS did a subpar job on the original installation of the new system. I don’t think that we will use ARS again, and I will discourage our neighbors from using them as well, as their prices are too expensive and their workmanship appears to be poor.
Repairman came very late and the issue was not resolved. If he had come on time he would have seen the issue. Thermostat was set to 75 but it was 65 in the house. This is a new unit installed by the same company. I have a child in the house.
The salesman was on time, very professional and genuinely nice. The installation technicians were as well, and highly skilled. I can't speak on the service plan yet, but I do recommend ARS for AC installations.

They diagnosed issues and didn’t push a sale for more work, but shared all the issues so I could plan for future problems, should they arise.

I can not think of the last time, I have such poor customer service. I highly caution anyone considering ARS to go another route. They are unprofessional and unreliable. I called 5 times in one day to assess when the tech was coming to my house as they never showed. I am also waiting for the supervisor to call back.
Everyone that went to my home was very respectful to my wife as she's a covid 19 Survivor and works from home. They worked with us to get an ac unit and installed it a day earlier. Thus Insuring my wife had a peaceful rest last night and was able to breathe without worrying about her oxygen levels. Called around 3 today because our furnace wasn’t turning on. We were told someone would be out today and that they’d call 30-45 minutes before arrival. At 9:00, we called again because no one had showed or called. The office was closed, so we went to bed. Around 9:30, we received a call and were asked if we still wanted the technician to come. Although we were aggravated by the time, we agreed. The technician showed up about 40 minutes later and started to diagnose the problem. He said it was the condensate pump and said it would be $517 to replace it. The pump costs $50, and we’ve had it replaced it before. Crazy to charge that much for a part. The technician was friendly and did his job but we are not impressed with this company - will stick to One Hour Green Horizon from now on.
Paid $1378 and my AC is still broken. Literally lasted an hour and broke again. Now I’m assuming they won’t refund my money and I’m forced to overpay for a new AC unit

They were scheduled to come on Thursday but they gave no estimated time. They were no show, no call. I got a call about 3 on Friday that said they were coming, with no estimated time. He came around 7:30. Didn't even look at my outside unit. He said I had a bad part, but that was not what was causing my cooling issues. They offered no suggestions to actually fix the cooling issue. So I spent 116 dollars (it would have been 900 if I had the part replaced), waited around for 2 days, and I still don't know what is wrong with my cooling system.

Our AC unit serving our bedroom was not functioning on a very hot Saturday. Various technicians we called either did not respond or would not work on Saturday. .However ARS did respond and sent an outstanding technician,Michael Holmes.He arrived at our home (a gated community in Chapel Hill) very promptly.He diagnosed our problem quickly. It needed a new circuit board (quite an expensive , specialized item)- He did not have to order one, he had it on his truck! It took a while to install it and to make sure that all was working. We will be sleeping in a cool bedroom tonight!

ARS was called to our rental unit that my daughter lives in; the HVAC wouldn't turn on. The tech was in the house for about five minutes and immediately found that the toggle switch( looks like a light switch ) had been turned off in the HVAC closet. My daughter is very detail oriented but may have flipped it off. She noted the time when he left. We called and asked ARS if they would reduce the $109 service call as there was no diagnostics and it took no time at all. The receptionist said the tech noted he was there for 20 minutes and, yes, it was a flipped switch. If my daughter was someone else I wouldn't be upset but she is a very honest person who admits her mistakes. She didn't make one when she noted the time. I am more than disappointed that ARS wouldn't reduce this fee in this instance. Twenty minutes is not five, good business practice would have been to be somewhat lenient on the fee. This was a lesson in who to trust next time.

I have used ARS Rescue Rooter for probably 20 years. 2019 when a new AC unit was installed, I was told about the air scrubber which is a whole house purifier. I was told ARS would come out yearly and check it but that I should check weekly to be certain the light is on, If its off, call the office and schedule a visit. Did not hear anything for two years. Called in for service and was told that somehow I had dropped off their system but I could sign up for $18 month to cover 2 yearly visits, I asked if I had to wait a grace period because my air scrubber needs to be checked, The technician came and said, I needed a light cell put in the scrubber $800 and replace the black tub that connect to the furnace. To my surprise none of this was covered. I paid a little over $1,300! I called the office to discuss this matter. I was told, we will send your call to accounting and someone will call you back. It took 2 1/2 weeks for someone to call me. What I learned is that the air scrubber has to be serviced every 6-18 months. Who has that kind of money to continue paying, I wasn't told this when I made the purchase. The air scrubber works well but the upkeep needs to be explained up front before before the sale is competed. I feel that the service and explanations I got were deceptive! So beware before you make any purchases. Also, a customer should get a returned all in a timely manner, not almost three weeks.
Deonte arrived on time, was professional, and answered all my questions. I have had ARS for several years and he is only the second technician to clean the unit. He told me that this task should have been done every year as part of the Spring checkup. Most of ARS technicians (as part of our contract) did not do this and I did not know enough to ask them to do so. So I found this to be dishonest as well as very disappointing. I would give Deonte 5 Stars and ARS 1 or 2 Stars.

My technician was Alfredo Olivo. He was on time for the appointment, courteous and very professional. Alfredo diagnosed the problem right away with my system and helped me to decide what was the best option to take. I would especially request that Alfredo be the one to inspect my equipment in the future for my home service plan!
All of the guys at ARS that I have had interaction with have been very professional, courteous and helpful. There was a 2 hour appointment window and the technician arrived within that time. RT fixed the problem and knew right away what needed to be fixed. I highly recommend ARS if you need new heating and air or just repairs. They are great!
Beware: ARS Rescue Rooter has developed a profitable scam! Lowes partners with them, providing customers with a $10 off coupon for an AC “tune-up”. Guy came 1 1/2 hours late, never introduced himself, climbed up in the attic to check our AC unit. He snapped a picture and descended the stairs, announcing that we had mold. It was on the outside of the unit, and therefore was certainly on the inside and throughout our ductwork. Because it starts on the inside. He said we were breathing the mold spores because it was in our system and shooting into our rooms. We asked what the remedy was and he said it was a $2500 air cleaner that he would put in the unit plus a UV light to help kill the mold mark quickly. We of course did not fork over $2500, and when he said well if it’s the money issue I can discount it to $1800+. Suspicious.We dismissed him, and then proceeded to call other HVAC companies, our insurance company, and mold remediation companies.A few people commented that they get several calls a week about this same problem, all from a company called ARS. We learned that it is not appropriate (maybe even illegal) to tell a customer that they have mold without sending it off for testing. Scare tactics are not an appropriate way to sell services. We also learned that mold does not begin inside the ductwork.We had a reputable mold remediation company come today to inspect. The guy showed us pictures of our pristine ductwork. No mold at all. You’ll see the ARS truck around. Lowes may even try to offer you a deal. Don’t fall for it!

I'm not happy with the dispatch people as I had called the day before to schedule someone to come out, when no one came and I called back after waiting all afternoon, I discovered my call never got put into the dispatch system. Very disappointed my air-conditioned unit is less than 3 years old ,it ARS Rescue Rooter 2 years before they change the breaker in my breaker box to operate the air-condition unit properly and the capacitor is gone bad, and they won't to charge me $289.00 to fix when I have 10 warranty, I am very disappointed. I requested information about the installation of 2 ac units on Sunday. On Monday, I met with Rob (he was awesome), on Tuesday my upstairs unit was installed and on Wednesday my downstairs unit was installed. I still can't believe how fast we went from requesting information to having a new system! I'm soooo happy. I used ARS to replace my Evaporator Coil. I received Tech Gilberto, whom was very knowledgeableAbout the replacement technique. The pricing was fair and they offer payment plans if needed.Gilberto was super professional and super careful not to be messy while completing the repairs.ARS Tech Gilberto wore shoe covering from the time i answered the door, and while in my home.If/when he exited he removed them to and placed them back on before reentering the house.He wore his mask at all times!!During the initial assessment ARS tech stated the repair time needed, and that’s exactly how long it took.
Tech Mike gave me repair cost and set up someone to come out and give me a quote for new compressor today.

We got a furnace installed a couple months ago and they blew us off a couple times. When they finally came and did the job they used whatever they wanted in our garage without asking and then drilled holes in the cement garage floor that they didn’t need to do. They never came by to do the final inspection we had to call them to come back out and fix our garage floor. Fast forward a couple of months and we had water in our newly installed furnace and garage floor. They no showed us again and said they can’t fit us in the next morning either. We have to go out of town with water in our furnace and they said they will try to come Monday but we should call the front office and schedule something (as if that means anything to these people). Hopefully our house doesn’t have any major damage when we return. We need our other furnace replaced before winter…. I will pay double to never give a cent of my money back to these nit wits.

I WILL NOT USE ARS ANYMORE. I just want to highlight a few things for visibility and to save others money. I have used ARS several times and each time they have tried to take advantage of me and get as much money as they can. If you see this be wary of their practices of overcharging and using manipulating tactics. See my story below for details.The first time I needed them to come out they did fix my heat pump issue. They charged about $500 and as a new homeowner I didn’t have any other reference point. I signed up for their monthly maintenance plan assuming they would come out and tune up my heat pump. They show up for the scheduled maintainer and within 30 minutes I’m told that the heat pump won’t last more than a few days…it’s on its last leg and it’s an emergency to get a salesman out to get me some estimates on a new machine. I declined and my heat pump ran fine for 6 months.This weekend I used them again because of an emergency as the heat pump stopped working in 100 degree temps. I was charged $1200 for what I came to find out should be $200-400 replacement of a capacitor. Then they send out a salesman to get me to purchase a $15k new system.ARS will act like the sky is falling every time they touch your hvac. The only solution will be to pay $10k-$20k to get a new system installed. Save your money and find a better company.

Recently our A/C unit needed repair - first noticed late on Saturday - and ARS was able to schedule technician visit already on Sunday. The technician Alfredo O. called early to let us know approximate time, then called again to confirm. He was able to diagnose the failure quickly and had parts on the truck to make repair quickly. Alfredo was professional and courteous, explained all of the options, and completed the repair - A/C back up and running - Thank-you Alfredo and Thank-you ARS for prompt service!

I was originally told to expect the tech between 8.30 and 11, I got a call from dispatch saying that weather is causing issues can we cancel and re schedule. I can’t do this as they did not turn up twice before and I nearly got fired twice for waiting for them.I was promised to be the techs first job at 11.30, I called at 1.00 pm asking where he was, I was told 30 mins, at around 2.30 I had to call again, I was told he was on his way. I called at 3.30 to b told that the tech was not answering dispatch.At 5.00 I got a call saying he’d be there in 30 mins.He arrived at 5.30, 15 mins later he was done and gone! No explanation of work done.The website says 100% satisfaction guarantee or your money back!So I want my 10k back, I am still waiting for the air vent to be installed, I was promised paperwork that never turned up!Dispatch lady was great! Installers were great, just absolutely shocking service.Zero confidence in this company! I am a service manager with another company! I know service is what keeps the doors open, I think Home Depot is carrying this company as service is definitely not their priority .
Great service! My 9 year old HVAC failed due to a bad capacitor, but the unit was under full warranty. I got service really fast. The technciate had the right part when he showed up and minutes later the AC was up and running!

This company installed the HVAC system in a new construction home that i bought 2 years ago. Every since, when using the heat there are loud tapping noises in the wall when the heat turns off. I called them to come out during the 1yr warranty and they did not fix the noise, but said the emergency heat was wired incorrectly and did fix that. I'm assuming something was not installed correctly, so i cannot recommend them.

On the initial call, they said it'd be $109 for the visit but instead they'd enroll me in monthly service for $25/mo and I had to say, No. I just want the one time service. Then when the person, who seemed great in terms of knowledge and efficiency, got to my house, I named the issue and he said they didn't have the part to fix it. However, after confirming the diagnoses, and the $2200 repair (for an $80 part and less than four minutes of labor), they magically had the part in stock and someone was on their way to my house that night. Again, I said, No, I don't want you to do that. I will handle it. They also said my relatively new unit is incredibly old and they'd like to quote me for a replacement and get started on that process.

Bad experience #1: The Capacitor went bad on a new ac unit, it was a home warranty claim, due to being under 1 year, so not a pressing issue to Rescue Rooter. Warranty claims = no money, so I was bottom of the totem pole. They did not show up for 3 consecutive time windows the first day, in which I had to take off of work for, and continued to miss time windows the following day. I had to get ugly with them on the phone, and finally someone showed up, and fixed the issue. The tech was very professional and did a good job.Bad experience #2: LGI Homes contracts Rescue Rooter to install all of the HVAC and vents on new builds. Unfortunately for me, I had noticed a water spot coming through on the ceiling in my master bedroom after a very heavy rain. It was coming from a ceiling vent that had not been installed properly. There is a 5 year warranty on craftsmanship and parts for their work. I had a tech come by the house to take a look. I made the phone operator aware of the issueI was having, and that they needed a technician with a tall ladder to get onto the roof to do repairs. They sent out a technician in a van, and no ladder. He was very professional, but was not equipped with the right tools for the job. He offered to put more mastic on the bottom side of the vent, but I knew that would not solve the issue. I had him call his boss, he agreed that they would need to get onto the roof to fix the issue, and they assured me someone would be in contact to help me resolve this issue. I have never received any type of communication since, meanwhile there is still water leaking into a bucket in my attic. Does it take writing bad reviews to get something done?? I can only hope so! So in my short experiences with this company I suggest DO NOT USE THEM FOR ANYTHING! Rescue Rooter is not prompt, and frankly they do not seem to care about their customers.
The definition seem to be professional, diagnosed several problems and replaced capacitor and condenser (?). Fortunately, he had the parts with him so our air-conditioning was fixed the afternoon I called, which I am so happy about. Your service was expensive-$1500.

technician arrived early and went right to work. within 10 minutes he had diagnosed the problem and in another 10 minutes he fixed it. I was extremely pleased with the work Carlos performed and would recommend to anyone.

We got a free estimate from Home Depot and the ARS sales rep, Alfredo, came out the same day. My husband and I were very impressed with the way he checked out our current system and explained all of our options. We liked the way he worked with us and didn’t have any high pressure sales routine at all. The guarantees that come with the package are great, and Alfredo helped us feel confident that if there are any issues, ARS has us covered. Alfredo was very personable, professional and patient with our questions, including when we needed some time to discuss our decision privately before signing on. We feel like we have a good advocate in Alfredo to work with us through the process. We definitely recommend him, and we trust that we are going to love the HVAC system, too.

Worst company ever! The equipment they installed 3 yrs ago be repaired. The equipment has failed already and is leaking into my master bedroom, ruining the ceiling. It is literally dripping from the ceiling. They said the E-Coil failed causing condensation to drip. Condensation??? So much condensation it leaks through the ceiling? The manager said he would email me their “fair” repair estimate since the 10 yr warranty will only cover the parts. ARS was referred by Home Depot, I will be speaking with Home Depot about the inferior company they have recommended. DO NOT USE.I wrote this sometime ago and I am still dealing with this company! They have yet to make things right. They will not listen to the customer and their communication is one of the worst I’ve ever dealt with. Avoid at all costs!

I cannot express the appreciation that I have for the staff of ARS Rescue Rooter in Durham, NC. Their professionalism, courteousness, and outstanding customer service displayed, is beyond any expectation I had. The technicians we had (I do not recall their names) were very experienced and knowledgeable in the heating and air conditioning profession. Ms. Laura Holly was so accommodating and understanding of the issues I was having with the unit we purchased in 2019. Upon arrival, the technicians explained what they were going to do. After assessing the problem, they were clear in explaining what they were going to do. Then once they completed all they could do on this date, they explained they enabled the AC unit to work to give us air, but they would be ordering parts to fully complete the repairs. It is rare to find vendors that are knowledgeable, and take pride in their job the was the staff of ARS Rescue Rooter of Durham does. First it was a great experience they showed up on time and took the time to diagnose the problem. Gave me a quote to fix the problem which turned out to be over 4000 dollars.....in that case I turned a claim into my ins company. I was told by the end of the day I would be told if they had the part or if they would have to order it. I heard nothing. No calls nothing I called later that night and they said it was ordered and would be 7 to 10 days....not business days but days to get here. Called after 7 days and left a message for a call back nothing. I called for two days amd nothing. I drove up to the local office and still didn't get an answer bit was told it would take 7 to 10 business days. They called after it came in the the lady told me it was going to be only 2307.94 to fix not 4100. How did 4100 get to 2307.94. Thanks to him I know have a claim on my insurance which didn't have to be. This company is very incompetent and need to get their prices right. I would definitely not recommend them for anything. In fact probably won't renew my service contract. 😡

This was for general seasonal maintenance. The service was timely and efficient. Only problem this time was they forgot to call before showing up which is standard practice for them. This was almost a very bad situation.
I always have good feedback on their visits. Very friendly, answered all of my questions, always wear booties and a mask. This was a maintenance call so fast and efficient.

Josh let me know exactly what was wrong with my unit and stressed that if I ever have a problem that someone can be sent out to my home 24/7 365 days a year. He explained I should consider replacing my 12 year old unit which I expected.He was cool enough to help me get set up with an appointment for an estimate so that someone can come check out my unit and home to see what kind of replacement I would need. I was worried that I would have to pay for the estimate so I was hesitant, but he stressed that it would be completely free. Even if I don't buy a new unit for a while I'll definitely hit up ARS if I have any issues with my current unit.

I had a system check up by ARS today 4/25/2023 between 8-12. Debbie called to tell me that Derrick was to arrive within 30 minutes and he was on time. He did a thorough check of my system inside and the unit outside. He made suggestions of things that need to be replaced soon. I appreciate his time and thorough check of my unit. He also gave me price quotes for the things that need replacing and it was not as expensive as I thought. Derrick is a great tech. ARS, Thanks for great service. I would recommend them to anyone.

ARS came to fix a problem last evening. We were told that the evaluation would be $89 but that the plumber would then fix the issue and add on any extra equipment that was needed to fix the issue to that cost. When the plumber arrived he saw that it was an outdoor issue rather than a simple sink or toilet and screwed on our hoses nozzle and said he didn't want to take the time to fix it tonight and still charged the $89 for DOING NOTHING. I will never call these folks again. HUGE WASTE OF MONEY and they obviously don't hold their plumbers to the standards they promise on the phone.

I have used ARS for years and have always been pleased. Kevin Melendez came today to prepare our house for a new AC unit and he walked me through every step of the process and answered all of my questions. He was kind, professional, and prepared everything for our installation even in 90 degree weather! I will continue to use and recommend ARS. Their customer service is wonderful!
We had a fantastic experience with ARS durham, as we purchased 2 units of both furnace and AC. Brian Robinson was exceptional in every step. We spent a very entertaining evening with him as he thoroughly explained everything that would be done and he gave us tons of options with varying financial options as well. Not only was he awesome, he was informative and extremely customer oriented. He made sure we knew exactly what was going on and we immediately trusted him. His crew came the very next day and afterwards the house was spotless. They went above and beyond and even added some extra things we needed. Can I say I don't know yet. I've always been pleased with ARS services (a customer for 4+ years), and the tech who came out today was very friendly & professional, but I'm not sure if I really need what was recommended or if they're just trying to sell me their latest product.
Les than one year from installing a new system, and I've had to call them out 3 times already. I'm not looking forward to the bill that will come after the one year warranty is up.
DO NOT USE ... We had their contract for 2 years. The work they did was good, but every time they came there was a recommendation to fix of some type of problem that was always $300 - $600 with lots of sales pressure that if if was not done we would need to replace the unit shortly.

Very nice guy. Turns out VIVINT had installed their smart thermostat incorrectly back in June. Apparently we’ve been using the furnace for heat all this time and just realized the outside unit wasn’t coming on at all. Removed the Vivint “smart” thermostat and put the old Honeywell back on.
Jose was great! Very knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. Clearly knew his way around our HVAC system. We knew we had a few bad parts in our system and he gave realistic views on how urgent or not urgent repairs were and explained what each piece did.

The inspection was scheduled for 9am to 1pm, and I was called at 11am to let me know that they were running late, and asking if this was OK. Despite the fact that the technician did not arrive until shortly after 2pm, I was impressed with the efficiency of the service. I had previously been told that I would be due for a replacement of the UV bulb and air scrubber cell, and decided to have a humidifier installed. The technician took the time to explain what would be involved, and saw that I was given all the available discounts. The installation was done within the time I was told, and all the trash was taken away (which was not always done by other services I'd used). I have always been very satisfied with ARS in the past, and this was no exception.
Although broken heating system is never fun, Ignatio made the whole experience as pleasant as it could possibly be. Not he was only able to fix it, but he was very professional and patient with all our questions. He explained the problem and provided very helpful advice on how to prevent it from breaking in the future. Thank you, Ignatio!

We had a horrible experience! We waited for some parts to be ordered- they arrived and we were given a window between 2-5 to get our furnace repaired with the parts. I called 5 times after 5… nobody could tell me when the technician was coming. They could give me his name but nothing else. We waited until 7:45! He arrived and left almost at 9 pm. The answering service couldn’t contact the people in charge of dispatching the technician. It was a mess!

So much wrong with this business. Save yourself time and just scroll past these people and research a different company. We still have unresolved business more then a month after installation with their installers causing MAJOR damage to our home. They still have not paid us what they said they would for the damage they caused which was over $2000.00! Please consider yourself fore warned.
The furnace went out in our home on Tues. We called ARS Durham, the technician came out and He said we needed a motor and the ARS will call with further details. After two days, there was no phone call, I made several attempts to call someone and they advised that the parts department would give us a call and they did not. Finally I spoke to Arin, who is the parts manager contractor, he basically said we do not have the part, it’s coming but don’t know when, and it is what it is, You home has a dual heating system and use that area where that system works and be glad because some people don’t have heat at all. I advised that the living space has no heat and I just came home from having surgery. We just turned on the furnace in Oct and the motor stopped in Dec. We still do not have the part, we still do not have any heat and it is Dec. 23, 2022. We’re expected to have below 0 temperatures. Not the way I expected to spend Christmas in my new home.

Simo Messaoudi went above and beyond during the service call. He identified a configuration issue with my recently installed HVAC system that others never noticed during the installation, post project inspection and 2 subsequent service calls. Not only is extremely knowledgeable and personable, he was very patient while answering my many questions.
Technicians Waited till sitting in truck about to leave to tell me of a problem with factory unit. Heating unit came damaged and will have to install another day, 96• outside. Technician the next day did not know what the problem was, since it was not relayed to him. Had to advise to wear mask and shoe covers after tracking mud in my home. Saying, you have mud in your yard, ( rained that morning). Technician came back the 3rd day after a long hot night. Now waiting to get heat portion attached after having to reorder. NOT HAPPY

Very disturbed by my experience with this company. A tech came out and quoted us around $3,500 of needed work. He said our compressor was about to go out, there was mold and buildup on our coil requiring a $1,500 mold system to be installed, there were leaks in our unit, and an animal had gotten to our duct work. He showed me photos of the coil, the duct work and brought me out to see the compressor. I found the original paperwork for the system, which was put in by the previous homeowner in 2016 (!! practically new !!) and all parts were still under warranty. Called the folks who put it in and there was NOTHING wrong with the system. In fact, the tech from the company who put it in broke the seal on the coil to inspect it. Meaning, the coil had never even been opened before - thus concluding that the tech from ARS was showing me photos that WEREN'T EVEN OUR SYSTEM. Sad and really disappointing. So glad we did not waste a bunch of money on them. Please beware.

My husband and I had a new HVAC system installed two years ago by ARS and have had regular services ever since. This morning's visit was from Xavier and he did a thorough job and gave me up to date information on all the services the company offer. Xavier was polite, respectful of my home (and dogs, as I'm training a puppy). Very happy with the service from ARS Durham.
I’ve had my unit maybe two years and I have had to call them out for one reason or another…for a NEW unit. Recently I have had issues with my thermostat which had to be replaced. The that was replaced went bad as well. The technician came out wanting to sell me a new one for $300+. I wasn’t going to pay it because it’s not my fault that their equipment is faulty. I only replaced my old unit due to its age. But it didn’t give me any issues like this new one. Wish I’d kept my old one. 🤷🏾♂️

Technician Baki was very committed to making sure that the temperature of our units were functioning properly and comfortably. I wish that the scheduling window was smaller 8-4 is a long time to wait for repair response.
Service is prompt, concerned, informative, begins repairing whatever is needed to be repaired. They answer any questions and inform the client as to what the problem is, how it will be repaired and the approximate time that will be needed! Afterwards, service personnel will explain what was corrected/fixed.

Carlos came out on the day of my AC emergency the day before the July 4th holiday. He quickly diagnosed the issue with my system and immediately set to work fixing it in horrible temperatures outside and in my addict. The people answering the phone and handling scheduling were extremely courteous in the Durham office. Best customer service experience I've had with a service provider in a long time. We had a complicated blocked pipe situation. Plumber Mike was great. He arrived within the time estimate given. Sleuthed out all of the possible drainage possibilities before explaining what he thought was needed and the pricing. When he was finished with the job he drew a simple diagram of where the pipes that were blocked were laid-out in the house to help explain what happened. He even ran a camera through the pipe after it was clear and gave me the recording on a disc so that we could see it. Pretty cool. He wasvery courteous as well. Their services are reasonably priced. I highly recommend the Durham, NC location.
Our service tech, Alfredo, was very knowledgeable and helpful. He is one of those people you can tell really cares about your service needs and provides helpful solutions. I will ask for him every time in the future.

The repair person was nice, friendly and knowledgeable. He did a great job. The company's prices are high. It took about 20 minutes to replace a $24 part and the total was $688 before taxes. That makes labor $664 so I was charged $33.20 per minute.

The tech came in and got to work. Thinking he was going to do a great job the way he moved. I told him when I had a leak years back it was an issue with a switch. He said something wasn't sealed right and he stated he corrected it. About to leave I saw it was still leaking and he used a wet vac so I was thinking it should stop but he said give it two days. Really two days to stop leaking after you used a wet vac. I said ok and this morning got up and it's leaking worse than it was. Coming out my smoke detector and I know that's a hazard.Update after 2nd techAfter the first tech came out it was worse the 2nd tech sounded like he knew more and stayed longer working hard. He lef and now it’s even worse and now leaking in more places. I keep saying it’s not draining outside and it’s still not. I don’t know much about how this work but I know water should go outside some kind of way and it’s not. Fixing the issue with this company is making it worse.

Very friendly and professional attitude. Andrew was very professional as well explained every detail of what the problem was with our ac unit and gave thorough suggestions for further services/equipment that may need attention in the near future. He was also very patient to answer any questions my wife and I had and listened when we talked to him about things pertaining to our ac issues. (That's very important on a service providers part) . Joseph was our technician for throughout this process. Out a/c went out a few days ago. Joseph arrived, he was very professional he wasted no time getting to work and diagnosing the problem. Once the part came in Joseph came back out. He completed his work order thoroughly and in a timely fashion. He was very patient and any questions we had he answered with no problem. We appreciate amount of professionalism and knowledge he displayed. We will always use ARS.
Super responsive and turned around quickly to get in assess and fix the issue. We have had a few problems in our new house and each technician has been polite and knowledgeable.
I live in Briar Chapel. ARS installed our entire system upon the build of our house. Our heat went out during the cold blast this past week. Since ARS had done our warranty work, I thought it would be okay to have them come out for maintenance. I was wrong. I had 2 requests, 1) Fix the heat. 2) Help me replace the 1 inch filter for the furnace in the attic (which I previously bought and had in-hand to give to the tech).Ronald our technician spent over an hour in our house. When I asked what the problem was, he said there was trash in our furnace. (Our house is 14 months old and we have never stored anything in our attic.) When pressed for further information he was not able to give it. So I tried to hand him the 12x12x1 filter to replace in the furnace and he told me NO! Ronald said, The only filters I replace are the whole-house filters from ARS that you can purchase for $1400. (I wish I was joking.) A different technician from ARS replaced my filter just 6 months ago without trying to hustle me. Then came the bill: Ronald charged me $337 for Miscellaneous Repairs.... not before trying to tack on yet another $199 for a yearly maintenance plan. I cut him a check for the repairs without getting the yearly plan. He did promise me that his work was guaranteed for 30 days and if I had any more issues with this that they would work for free to fix the problem.Fast-foward 5 days later: the heat is still broken and ARS just tried to charge me $169 just to come out and take a look at the problem... said it was unfortunate that we spent that money earlier this week but we still had to pay. I told ARS I wanted to speak to customer retention and was instructed to leave Jackie Love a message, which I did.In the end, my filter still needs replacing and my heat is still broken. :( $337 ( or 1 week's-worth of child care) is down the toilet.*Update* 4/17/18 - our 4 year old system's evaporator coil went bad. They told me a year ago it was not a leak but, it was. So now at 4 years old I'm faced with replacing this which is no less than $2k. Called ARS to discuss this morning. They said they would call back - either the parts dept or customer service - but nothing. I would go with a reputable company vs. ARS on this.Good luck!

Alfredo from ARS was polite and efficient. I called to get repair work done and while doing the repairs, he showed me pictures of bacteria growing in the AC unit. He recommended the HVAC system and explained to me what it does. He made sure i understood what i was getting. After the installation, he showed me the work he performed. He did a thorough job.

Updating one last time to add that I called and asked for a receipt for the zone board replacement. I was told it would be sent to me, yet it never was.Updating my review because my issue was not resolved. I had a 2-zone unit and my 1st floor was not heating/cooling in response to the thermostat. The technician who looked at it said it was a zone board malfunction and would cost $2,000 to buy and install a new one. I got a quote for $1475 from Dominion, but chose to go with more costly ARS because I trusted their technician. Days later I realized that while the heat was working downstairs, the cooling still was not. Another technician comes, this one with no ladder to even look in the attic, and after a number of checks says that it is a damaged thermostat. The second diagnosis was free, but the purchase and install of the thermostat would cost $967.50 to fix, and that’s after the technician took $200 off as a curtesy. I was out $2,000, and still unsure whether diagnosis was correct. I bought and installed 2 new thermostats in less than 2 hours for less than $60 and thankfully the cooling started working. I cannot recommend ARS as a heating and cooling service company. Even if I ignore that the first diagnosis did not fix the entire problem, they are extremely overpriced.…Derrick the technician was great. He was professional, diagnosed my issue during the first visit, and was able to fix it upon returning. 1 star off because it’s pretty pricy. Another star off because it was a struggle to schedule the repair. The clerk Tawanda kept calling and hanging up before I could answer. When I finally got on the phone with her the call cut out mid-conversation. At first I thought it was bad service in my area, but that issue did not happen with any other calls that day. I finally had to call in and specifically request to be transferred to someone other than Tawanda to get scheduled.
In 2018 we built a new home and contracted ARS to put in our two Carrier Units, one of which was a dual zone 3.5 Ton unit the other a 1.5 ton unit. Over the past 3 years we have had some issues with the Dual Zone unit. ARS continued to work with us until they found and fixed the problem. ARS is a wonderful business that operates with a high level of integrity.Every tech that ARS has sent to our house has been professional and courteous. The last technician to come to our house was incredibly knowledgeable about the mechanics of our Carrier unit. Michael made a series of diagnostic tests that the others did not. Michael was able to properly diagnose and fix the problem.Thank you ARS for your commitment to stand by your workmanship. It's been a pleasure doing business with ARS of Durham!

This company told me my repairs was $2000. After his quote, I told him thank you, and I would call him if needed. I ended up paying $250 for the repair of my unit. This included repairs and a new thermostat!!!! Two co-workers warned me not to deal with ARS. The next time someone gives me advice I will listen!!! Thank God I didn't agree to let them repair my unit!!! I agree with the other customer, how can this company get ANY good reviews!!! Maybe they don't try to RIP every customer off!!!!

I called ARS to repair a previous issue they worked on with my HVAC. They sent Mike A. for the 2nd visit. He diagnosed the problem and even showed me the problem on the HVAC system so that I knew what needed to be done. That was very reassuring because he explained things in terms that I understand. He subtracted what I paid on the first visit ( a different tech) to the quote for the second diagnstic and repairs. I haven't commissioned the repairs yet but I'm glad to see they honor their policy. I will update this once I commission the work.FYI: Always make the tech show you the problems. Dont just take their word for it or you calling for a second diagnosis testing.

Alfredo Olivo and Christian Martinez did a wonderful, very hard job for us sealing our basement, installing a dehumidifier and putting down new vinyl for us. They worked so hard, got the job done, cleaned everything up beautifully. I called for service on my trane central heat &air unit on 1 /4/19.patricio Camilo was dispatched . at my residence he proceeded to check out my unit. using only a set of gauges to diagnose my problem he tells me my compressor is no good . that I need a new compressor .at the tune of 3,579.00. he did not check any electrical components whatsoever!!!!!! upon calling another company I was told the run capacitor was bad. this man replaced the capacitor. unit is running fine. I was almost taken for the price of a new compressor. maybe!!!! I would like very much for ARS to refund the sum of $52.68 which I paid by check # 2940 to Patricio before he left my home. this was my first experience with ARS ROTO ROOTERS. possible customers beware.

We made an appointment with this company, and they said they would arrive between 5:30 and 7pm with a 30-40 minutes call ahead saying they're on the way. At 7pm, we still had not received a call. We called ARS to let them know no one had arrived. They said the person was running behind and would still be coming later that evening (but they did not give us a time). We waited around the entire night for someone to call or show. We did not hear from them again that whole evening. Poor communication and not respectful of a customer's time. Wish it could have worked out.

On this recent visit they just did HVAC maintenance. We have a service contract with them, so they remind us to do our Fall & Spring maintenance. They keep track of the work you've had done & let you know when it's time to replace UV bulbs, filters, etc. but they don't hard-sell, so if you're not ready to spend money, that's ok. Everyone who's done work for us has been pleasant and knowledgeable. ARS installed our original system for the builder when the house was built as well as the new system 15 yrs later, and they've installed new thermostats (including Nest ones plus a Nest doorbell this past fall, which we are very happy with). At that time, they also took care of some mold in our ducts and dried out our crawlspace which had moisture issues due to a leak from a botched ice maker installation by another contractor some months earlier. We didn't know about the leak so it was a much bigger job than they had planned for and we had an afternoon appointment. Our repairman stayed for 7 hours and brought in a colleague so they could get finished that day. We were very impressed.
Oh my goodness! Tony and Debbie with ARS are the best. Out here the same day, diagnosed the problem and coming back in the morning to fix it! And Tony was so courteous and professional. Two thumbs up!

When we called ARS we were at our wits end because we had been without a HVAC system for some time. We had called so many other companies and city agencies for help with no success. ARS quickly scheduled a consultation appointment for us and Alfredo Olivo came and thoroughly explained the installation process and was able to obtain hassle free financing for us. He scheduled an appointment for installation, and told us he would let us know if there were any cancellations because he wanted us to have air, since we were experiencing 90 degree weather. Within a day or so we were informed of a cancellation and the technicians (Juan Cruz and associates), came out and did all of the installation and duct work in a day, and we were up and running! They returned to do the zoning two days later. All of the work was done efficiently, the technicians covered their shoes so they wouldn’t track dirt into the house, and the work was done quickly and quietly. All garbage was removed and clean up was immaculate! I would give this company ten stars if I could and would highly recommend them. This company lives up to the standards and guarantees they promote. It was such a pleasure doing business with them!

This is the third tech that has come out to look at my systems zoning issue.The first tech stated it was the nest.The second stated it was not and they fixed the system under the houseThe third just left and stated it's workingI just went under the house to check the zones and two of them do not have power and one has no wires running to it for power at all.Before the tech left I explained this as part of the issue which still was not resolved.The one that is working has lights and can visually see close and open.

My wife and I bought a new AC unit through ARS three weeks ago and my experience has been nothing but a slew of broken equipment, dishonest customer “service” and a complete lack of urgency for replacing a unit during record temperatures. Our unit completely failed earlier today after only three weeks of use. Then ARS lied about appointment times, showed up anyways unannounced, and then informed us that the replacement part wouldn’t be in stock for days. I asked ARS on Facebook what the deal was and why they were being dishonest, only to find the company deleted my comments and blocked me from their page preventing me from sending a private message that THEY THEMSELVES requested. This has been hands down the most frustrating customer experience of my life and I would not suggest their services to anyone.

I had multiple gas leaks and the technician Alfredo Olivo came out quickly and did an awesome job fixing the leaks. He also confirmed that there were no more leaks and reprogrammed a thermostat that was set up incorrectly. It was such a comfort to have this issue addressed promptly and professionally.
One year overdue for service on my 2 yr old HVAC system, ARS delivered and has me ready for the upcoming change in seasons. J.J. We have used ARS for new H/Vac system with duct work. The service and installation were phenomenal. We call ARS Durham and were scheduled and seen within 24hrs. The technician,Alfredo Olivo. Serviced our system and then provided us information on new options for our Hvac a UV light and additional electronic filtration system. Alfredo had the items in the truck and in an hours time had them installed. He was very courteous and professional. ARS Durham will be the only company to service our unit. Xavier came out to do our regularly scheduled AC inspection and was so thorough, really taking the time to walk me through the different components of our system and highlighting things that were major immediate concerns, as well as educating me on things to be aware of and changes to make in the future. As a first-time homeowner, I really appreciated his patience and kindness in teaching me things I do not know about HVAC systems, and I felt very much at ease asking him for his professional opinion on which avenues I should pursue.This is the second time I have been VERY pleased with a tech from ARS; earlier this year, Louis came out when our furnace would not stay on during a 2-week super cold spell and crouched down in my crawl space with me for 3 hours on 2 separate evenings to troubleshoot a solution to get our drain line to flow properly. These guys really, really know their stuff and I feel very confident in their diagnoses of our systems. Thanks ARS!!

Andrew W. made a service call to my house to fix a problem with my heat pump. He diagnosed the problem quickly, and corrected it. He is good at his job, and friendly too. I would recommend him to anyone.
When installation team was here, they did not do the job fully. Did not replace part that were in contract and put up cheaper items also. Tried multiple times to get in contact with them kept getting run around and the management won't even talk to you. Definitely would not recommend to anyone.
Great service and the Technician fixed my AC problem.
Moved into a brand new house in 2014. Within 1 week of moving in, upstairs heater stopped heating. Service tech came out after hours and stated that a defrost board needed replaced. Took 2 days to have it fixed. Within a few months, heater stopped working again. Service tech stated that the coils had a hole in it and needed replaced. Service managers and install managers came out, with service techs and went through both systems. Found that the return for the downstairs unit wasn’t installed appropriately to allow for correct air flow. They installed the duct work incorrectly, on top of having to replace the coil in the upstairs unit. A few months went by and I noticed the outside condensing unit was buzzing. Called ARS and the tech stated the compressor had a ‘burnout’, and that it needed replaced and was going to charge me ~$2,000 for replacement. I asked why the whole system couldn’t be replaced with the issues that we had. No deal. Another bandaid was put on this unit. A couple years down the road to present day and the upstairs unit stopped heating again. They came out and stated the reversing valve needed replaced and would cost ~$4,200 to replace, or they could send someone out to give us a free estimate on a whole new unit. After talking with a friend who used to be a hvac tech thought that was an outrageous amount. I called a 2nd company and they would charge me less than $1,000. The valve itself cost ~$130, so essentially ARS tech would be paid about $1000 per hour for this 4 hour job. The estimate to replace the 1 unit was around $8,000...to replace both units it would be ~$17,000. I got a quote for the exact same units for less than half the cost that ARS charges. After talking with the service manager, he stated that the cost of the replacement was so high because they had to cover themselves for at least a year in case other issues happened. Needless to say I’m done doing business with ARS. They run a totally unethical business only watching out for themselves and their wallets.

I truly cannot speak more highly of ARS techs JJ and Mike. These guys were determined to get to a solution no matter how long or hard they had to work (or hot it was in that attic! Thanks, Mike!). They were so courteous, thorough, professional and listened (and didn't dismiss) attentively and respectfully to my observations which is so appreciated. The guys that actually did the work did a wonderful job but with that being said your sales rep could have done better to help them out and me as well. I had to go a night without heat and your workers had to make extra trips for things cause he gave them no type of pictures and failed to tell anyone that I heat with gas. Your sales rep could use more training.

Jose D. was very professional and courteous. He listened to my explaination of the problem, ventured into the crawl space. Analyzed the problem, explained the solution in terms I could understand and within 90 mins. things were working fine. ARS and Jose D's number is on my fridge now.

Had a tech come to do my annual HVAC maintenance. After about 10 minutes he told me what the issue was and told me he would have to order a part then they would schedule the service. He charged me then for the full amount. I received a non-itemized invoice via email and called because it had a signature that wasn't mine. I later cancelled the service and after a week of calling still have not received a refund but have received two calls letting me know the part that I cancelled the order for had arrived.
Alfredo was very professional and friendly as well. He helped me understand my air conditioner problem and showed me what went wrong. He seemed very dedicated to his Job!

Our Air Conditioning unit stopped cooling our house on a very hot day. We called ARS, and a service tech, Josh Baker, came to check it out. He identified the problem and immediately laid out our options. He recommended that, since the parts needed would be ordered after the weekend, in two days, the house could be cooled in the meantime if he filled the unit with refrigerant. Slowly, but surely, with the refrigerant in the unit, our house went from 83 degrees F, to the optimum temperature of 70 degrees F.Thanks to Josh's excellent assessment of the problem and the solution, we had relief from the heat that evening. Today, Josh came back with the necessary parts, replaced the old parts, and repaired our AC unit.Thank you, Josh, and thank you, ARS!

Gilberto was AMAZING!!! Based on his professional courtesy, COVID safety adherence, his knowledge base of issues and recommendationstowards fixing the problem(s) was very impressive and it made me confident in the work that was to be performed. What I do know is that I woke up freezing in my home with a system that is shy of 3 years old and needed help. I do not trust the place where I purchased my new HVAC system to come out and look so I went with a service company that my mother uses consistently. I must say, I am VERY happy that Gilberto was assigned to my home and RECOMMEND him without blinking twice! Gilberto if your are reading this, thank you so much for your service! I was satisfied with the field technician: professional service and knowledge. The service has yet to return my call of concern when I was informed by operator that it would be about 10mins and its going on 3.5days and this was the 3rd service problem into a two year old new system and its always a cost. Not satisfied at all!
I was pretty disappointed after buying an A/C from ARS a couple of years ago. Things didn't go the way the salesman said they would. The unit didn't pass inspection the first time. The salesman didn't include the larger return on the contract so that took a few phone calls on to resolve on installation day. Then the return wasn't put in the way I was told it would be. I was also told I would have the same serviceman with every check up, instead, I get someone new every time. With every check up, I get a sales pitch for their spring and fall package and quite frankly, I'm tired them trying to sell me something. Just come and do the job I asked. Last fall I was told that something was looking worn in my two year old unit. But because it hadn't failed, it wasn't under warranty. It would cost $200+ to replace. Despite some pressure tactics (I don't want it to fail on you in the middle of winter), I refused the replacement and my heater worked all winter long.

Asked for a tune up and HVAC checkup (my cooling system was working just fine, the heating system wasn't). A technician came and suggested some maintenance to fix the heating system. I am not sure what he exactly did while checking the HVAC because now both systems (cooling and heating) are not working.
Brad came out to check what was wrong with our a/c...he was very knowledgeable but could not locate the parts needed in NC. He called in Adante to help us figure out what kind of unit we could use. Adante was so nice and looked for a/c and heating unit to replace our almost 21 year unit. We lost a/c Tues July 5 th and a new unit was put in Fri July 8 th. We had to stay due to my sick Mama that has to stay in a hospital bed in our house. There was 1 small issue that we were afraid to use the unit Friday night/ Saturday but Arturo came Saturday evening because we couldn't use it and found that it was a issue that would not damage anything. They put several safety measures on their a/c heating units. Overall a good experience.
Gilberto O. at ARS Rescue Rooter @ Durham provided us with amazing service! He was on time and did the job thoroughly. Mr. Olivio was honest and upfront. There were no scare tactics or service add ons. Gilberto made the difference in our trust for ARS. Please note this review is months after the fact but I just found the card. Called at 7:30 am on Saturday 11/14/2020 for a no heat problem. Left a phone number to have them advise of technician arrival time. They used another phone number to call me back and that person said to cancel the service call. I called back two times after that to check on status, was not told about the cancellation. Technician finally showed up around 5:15 pm. Billed over $350 for installation of 1-inch diameter “p” trap, took less than 10 minutes to install. Left message with a pleasant person at the answering service on Saturday after the service call for a manager to call me to chat about this. Monday, 2:05 pm, no return call yet. Think I’m happy?

DON'T LET THESE GUYS RIP YOU OFFThey quoted me $7600 for a tank water heater and $9100 for a tankless. I got another estimate from another company and it came in at $3900 for a tank water heater and told me a tankless wouldn't work with our system. The second guy said one of his friends works for ars rescue rooter and that the guy who does the estimate gets a 25% commission. That guy almost made almost $2000from selling me a water heater.Also, a minor thing: they said it was $99 for the consultation and then they charged me tax on it.Tax on a fixed price estimate?These guys want every dime.

Right now I’m waiting on a call back from a service supervisor I was overcharged by 450 at least and until this is finalized all I will say is they told my wife a capacitor cost 500 dollars when I found out I looked up the part and it was 34.44 they were there less than an hour and charged me over seven hundred dollars I have disputed the charges on my card and this will be updated as soon as it is finalized*** update after over 10 days and lots of phone calls I finally found someone who actually cared and was able to resolve my issue in less then 24 hrs she was great to work with Sybil Herber national customer care lead analyst she had such care and concern for my issue and a since of urgency to resolve it if she’s not at least acknowledged by anyone else I want her to know she is appreciated

We had purchased a new furnace from ARS in 2019. We had a series of issues with it, each time the furnance would stop working and we had to call for service. Service was always prompt, but the issue kept happening and different technicians would diagnose and replace different parts.The furnace stopped once more during the cold spell this month and Jeffrey Little came out on a Sunday to diagnose the issue. He actually figured out the root of the problem, made sure the part was ordered but most importantly, connected me to the customer service rep Lara Holley. Our furnace was still under warranty for the parts (10 year warranty) but I was concerned that this issue wouldn't be resolved and that we would be liable for charges down the line. I was really grateful to Jeffrey for actually figuring out the problem; I feel that it has likely been resolved. He clearly documented both the immediate issue but also the ongoing issues we'd been having so that when I spoke with Lara it was all in our record. She was very responsive and a pleasure to work with. Thank you to both of you. I went from being skeptical about the maintenance to feeling reassured.

I have never had any issues with ARS until today. My appointment for routine HVAC maintenance was scheduled from 9am to 11am. No one showed up so I called ARS at 11:30 am to see if they were still planning on coming out today. The customer service representative said the tech was probably running behind but that they would call 30-40 min prior to arrival. It's now 2pm and they're still not here and I wouldn't be surprised if they don't show up. It would really help to stick within the scheduled time and if that's not possible, at least have the courtesy to call and let the customer know you're running late so they can plan the rest of their day.Update: The tech showed up 10 minutes after I posted the review (and didn't call beforehand)

my annual maintenance for my 2 external compressor heat pump HVAC system today was handled by Simo Messaoudi -- unlike the technicians at Yellow Dot (my previous HVAC company), Simo in a professional manner expained to me my options very clearly in terms of what I needed to do today & what can wait for the future -- he also put into perspective the decision I will have to make soon about my R22(freon) HVAC system -- we settled upon an air scrubber & repositioning of 2 UV lights (both to combat mold growing within the HVAC system) with in mind that both the UV & air scrubber accessories can be moved into a R14A(non-freon) HVAC system when the time comes in a few years -- I have been trying to contact the dispatch people at ARS/Rescue Rooter Durham to make Simo my dedicated technician, although they may call me with a follow-up & I will ask them to make this change then -- thank you Simo & I will see you again in the springToday (02/28/2020) visited again by Simo representing ARS Rescue Rooter — this time he figured out what is causing growth build-up in my HVAC vents & their tubes — many years ago Yellow Dot advised me to install an Aprilaire humidifier inside my crawl space air handler — a few days ago I noticed that nearly all the vents attached to the crawl space air handler had black/brown growth — after checking out UV lights & air scrubber, Simo determined that over the years the Aprilaire crawl space air handler humidifier was causing the problem — he has observed over his years working in HVAC that heat pump HVAC systems don’t really need extra humidity during the winter as do HVAC systems run on natural gas — so, he’s turned the Aprilaire air handler humidifier off & will close it off come the next maintenance appointment in spring — thank you Simo for help solving this mystery — I’ve booked some duct cleaners scheduled for in a few weeks
Gilberto arrived on time. He was friendly; work a mask, and completed the maintenance. He communicated the issues with pictures and the options.

ARS Rotor Rooter installed the heat pump in late 2018. Our Heat Pump/AC unit has a 5 year warranty on parts. Unfortunately our warranty was not honored. We were charged $276 for a Compacitor which resulted in a $100 dollar warranty savings on the part. The warranty isn't worth the paper it is written on.
The entire team, project manager and installers were super friendly, kind and professional. My hat goes off for the show covers they were using in the house. It was a nice touch.

Very unprofessional, I called morning of 7/29/23 and was given an appointment for anywhere from 5 pm to 9pm and I waited around with no air and I received a call back around 7:30pm that no one would be coming out. If your employees seen they were running behind they should have called me back before then so that I could try to get another company out. Then when I canceled the same day they rep. suggested I should keep the morning appointment that was offered for the next day which they said someone would be out anywhere from 8 am to 3pm. I canceled that appointment this morning as I was instructed because no one came out this morning. Your company sent someone out around 3:30 even though I had already canceled the appointment and had another company who came out this morning at 8am as they said. Communication is the key!

Sadly a very timely phone call made me agree to a $30 inspection of my heating system. I thought this was too good to be true because I used to pay $100 to have my annual pre-winter check up on my system. When the young man arrived to check my system he was very pleasant and very professional. My first red flag was when the young man called me by the wrong last name. I corrected him and let him inspect my system. He finished and informed me that I would need $1982 worth of overpriced and unnecessary repairs. I asked for a written estimate which he provided. He then set me up for an appointment with another gentleman to come out and give me an estimate for a new system which I knew I would eventually need because my AC is older. Before the 2nd gentlemen from ACS arrived, I checked in with the gentleman who usually services my system. He assured me that the estimate on the repairs my system were unnecessary and overpriced. He reminded me that my AC would be replacing but my heating system is fine. My regular service man further assured me that if two of the parts listed on the estimate were actually not working, then I would not have heat in my house and my system has been working fine since they left. One of the parts even has a lifetime warranty. When they sent the second man out for the estimate, he too was very pleasant and very professional but I didn’t even let him touch my system because I no longer trusted ACS in my house. Moral of the story: if it seems too good to be true it probably is. Smdh.

I called and left messages three times on a problem with my thermostat. No response. My property builder then called them, their customer service called me back and asked me if I wanted a tuneup which I mistakenly agreed to. So I had to pay money for a warranty item on a thermostat issue bc they added this service. It took six weeks in total to get them here. Horrible. Then they made me pay for the visit. It was a discount from $69 to $9, but still, paying anything for this poor service in something I didn’t want for is very dissatisfying.
They get the job done on time and are easily available when I need them. Professional service! With a smile.
I have been doing business with this company for 9 years, but I won't anymore. When they come to service your unit always get a second opinion because they will try and scare you into spending thousands of dollars. I have been trying to cancel my service with them since last Friday. Every time I call they say will have someone call you back...still nothing ...THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!
The lack of communication on the front end is a huge concern (Admin staff). My concerns supposedly were sent to management a week ago, however I haven't heard from anyone in management. The first service guy did not communicate to me that I had a leak, which could have been addressed a couple months ago. The recent service guy was on time and able to identify the problem. Now were waiting on a part to come in, so that he can continue with the repairs. I am not a happy camper!
Carlos was friendly, efficient, and great at explaining what he was doing. He showed up on time and ARS called us to give us a 30-minute heads-up on his arrival. He ensured that all of our questions were answered before he left. Great service!

Alfredo was very curtious, understood the work, had the spare filter needed as per my call and diid a clean good job.
We had a technician out and he took a look at the AC unit outside and said everything looked fine. After several nights of the air conditioning not working in our house being almost 80 at night we called back and asked them to send someone else out because we don’t think the first guy fixed anything or even looked at the parts in our attic. They sent the same guy out and he still couldn’t pinpoint the problem so then they sent someone to give us a quote. The quote was for over $10,000 and replaced almost everything (coils, unit, etc.). My husband and I were freaking out because if we had done everything it would’ve been about $13,000. We decided to get a second opinion from West Star Heating and Cooling and they were able to identify the problem and fix it for less than $300. I will not call ARS again.

This passed summer I had cancer with radiation Treatment and my mom passed away. She had lived with me for 3 years due to brain damage due to an infection. With these things weighing me down it was a godsend to have ARS guys taking care of replacing my unit and have followed up to make sure things are working properly. Of Course My 14 year old Unit would start emitting a terrible odor late ON Friday Evening..when the temperature was down to 25 in Durham! I called ARS first thing Saturday Morning! My Husband was reluctant...being sure they would charge Emergency Service Prices because it was the week-end....but NO..it was the same modest everyday price for a Technician to come out! The Dispatcher answering the phone was outstandingly kind & compassionate & made us feel customers were a high priority.They arrived Super Fast! Kevin spoke with us after our unit was Inspected! We had a full House, as Our daughter was visiting with 3 small Grandchildren. Still He was very Patient & Confident in his product knowledge. No Rushing whatsoever. After all of Our Questions & Concerns were addressed & answered, It was an easy decision to Contract ARS to install our new unit! EVERYTHING IS LAYED OUT IN THE CUSTOMERS INTEREST!!! Easy to understand !!Juan & Carlos were Like Super Heroes...So Polite, Neat, & Intelligent & once again..Very Knowledgeable!! At first I thought they were Executives from the Corporate Office. Until they told me they were my Installers!! These Men worked around My 10 Cats & 4 Dogs with Smiles & Courtesy i could only wish for!! The Installation went smoothly. In fact, i haven't ever seen anyone work so hard & diligent independently!! They worked So Quiet..i kept forgetting they were here!! Until they would let me know they were having lunch..& then straight back to work!! Need i say how pleased & happy we are!!! Our Rheem Is so quiet!! We love it!! We got Everything Replaced...& can tell such a difference...all of my rooms for once are the same temp. The Pets are very comfortable as well!! I would not chose anyone else to service Us. I do not plan to use this service again. My unit is fine but 2 out of the 3 times they have visited there was something wrong that was$300+! My system works fine it was 8 years new when there was a supposed problem. Plus they were scheduled for 11-2 and called at 9:30 to say that someone was in route on my voicemail! I was totally shocked when the guy was ringing the doorbell at 10:15 while I'm getting out of the shower. What's the purpose of scheduling an appointment if you are coming when you get ready! The initial salesperson is a real nice guy but it hits the fan when it gets past him! Won't use it again!

The service guy was very polite and informed us of potential issues down the road with our System, however I was not informed of the specific services he performed, since this was supposed to be a tune up for my system, hopefully he did was he was supposed to do, I’ll never know I guess.It would’ve been better if he would’ve given us all the info on the things that he took care of.
The sales representative Jon Gooch was very nice and professional and made the buying experience very good, they had the brand I wanted and the best prices. ARS also has the best waranty and made me feel more at ease with making this important purchase for my house.

I am not one to leave comments but I have not had a great interaction with this company. I recently had my 5th tech visit for a unit that is still in warranty, and the issues are still not resolved . Most of the technicians have been polite but the lack of ability to fix the issues are troubling. Problems have persisted from lack of communication between technicians, issues with scheduling, and not being able to resolve technical issues. There is no urgency to get the issue resolved although we have been without AC for a while. I have had to have friends who work in the industry coach me through questions to ask to get the correct information. If the system was not under warranty with this company I would not still be seeking repairs from them. If you are looking to have your system serviced or looking to have a new install I do not recommend this company.
When our old HVAC system gave out (11 yrs old), we needed service to get this thing up and running as quickly as possible.My wife suggested we call the company she see in the area the most calling on our neighbors. So, we call ARS. The good news; they came out promptly, as promised. The bad news; we needed a new system (our system is 11 yrs. old), and repair is temporary, at best and not a sound investment. The Lead Estimator, Adante, came by that evening. Three and a half hours later, we had a good idea of what was available and the differences between the 14 SEER, 16 SEER, and the 17 SEER units.Our selected unit was located in Florida. We were provided a portable window unit, which was nice for the master bedroom, however, the rest of the house was above 90 degrees. After a night or two, we could not take it any longer (mid August in NC; air conditioner out nearly a week). We were allocated an allowance for a hotel stay (Sat. night, Sun. night, & Mon. night - the day of installation).Tuesday morning, life returned to normalcy. Not only is the house cooler, but the cold air smells fresher, feels crisper, cleaner.We are pleased with ARS and their staff. Everyone was kind , courteous, and professional.I will not hesitate to refer customers to ARS. I know they will be treated by the best team available to handle their needs.

Repairman came early and was professional and friendly
I'm only giving '1' star because you cannot leave '0' stars. The weekend before New Years' 2018, our heat went out. The first repairman to come out, didn't do anything except inform me I must have messed up the thermostat scheduler. He removed the scheduler and left. The heat still did not work. They sent a second repairman who hooked up the digital analyzer, and informed us we had a part that had gone bad (on a unit they installed new three years ago). They replaced the part, but the heat still did not work. The next repairman to come out hooked up the digital analyzer and informed us that it was still reading that the brand new part had gone bad, so it must mean that we needed a whole new circuit board, which they would have to order. The day that they were supposed to install the part, the call me at the time someone was supposed to be there to tell me they lost the part they had ordered and are going to have to re-order it. Keep in mind, this is the coldest part of the winter and still no heat. They come back in several days and install the new part, but the heat still does not work. I call them to ask them to send someone out who knows how to diagnose heating issues without relying on the digital analyzer and they tell me they are sending their manager that day. Later that day, they call to say they need to schedule his coming out, as he is not coming out that day. We schedule an appointment for the next day, but it snows. I call to reach someone to see if it can be rescheduled, and leave a voice mail and no one ever calls me back. I wait until all the snow has gone (3 days) and still no one calls me back. I call another service in my area who comes out the same day and takes one look at my system and is able to tell me that the gas switch had not been turned back on since the unit was serviced for its winter servicing back in October. He turned the heat switch 'on', and the heat clicks on and works like a charm. About a week later, I leave a message with ACS because I'd like a refund for my pre-paid spring service (nevermind the nearly $500 I forked out to fix a nonexistent issue they caused in the first place). No one calls me back about that, but they contact me a few days later to do a random service survey and I told them I wanted to speak to someone in detail. Jacqueline said she would call me back the next day. She never did. Fast forward to a couple weeks later and they call me back; not about my issue, but to schedule my spring service. I went over my issues with them, again, and was transferred back to Jacqueline who said that she would check into my refund and call me back. She never called me back, and when I followed up with them on March 9th, she told me it had been refunded March 5th and seemed aggravated that I inquired (however, if she would have called me back I would have know). After all of this, she had the gall to then hang up one me. This is, by far, the worst service I have *ever* experienced and I am currently working with the Better Business Bureau to inquire as to a full and total refund of all the money I have spent from January to March 2018.

Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience. The technician arrived on time but, once he arrived and after checking everything out, he could not seem to tell me whether the repairs he initially said that I would need were required to get my system up and running. He specifically told me that the AC mechanism, located in my attic, was working but may go out at some point. He then later claimed that it Was not working at all and, therefore, needed to be repaired—costing me $855 for both. He then added one year insurance protection for another $208 without asking me. By the time he finished finding “problems” that needed repairs, he wanted to charge me $1600. Although the company said that I would receive a 10% discount because I am a senior citizen, he refused to give it to me. So, I told him that I would get a second opinion. He charged me the service fee plus tax and left. I called another AC repair service the same day. He came out, checked the same devices and said the devices in my attic were working fine. He repaired the outside unit, charged me $350 and left. My AC unit is working great. ARS installed a brand new HVAC unit at end of March. It has been repairing for at least 7 times wasted days of our time. As now, June 5, my air conditioner is still waiting for parts. The cover/hood left wide open. The manager Brandon promised us they will replace the cover and install the missing parts. But they never do. Brandon also ignores our call and messages. Till, it has been 6 weeks since we talk to the manager Brandon. Nothing has been done.Besides, the technician damaged the coil fins while they were repairing the brand new unit they just installed, and they are not promising to repair it.In the contract, they promised to refund and remove the unit within one year if we are not satisfied with their product and service. When I request refund, they just sent a technician, talk to you and promising to repair, which is something they never does.I heard ARS is a good company for plumbing. However, for HVAC installation and repair, they are not professional based on what they did, such as misconnecting wires during installation which damages the outside unit, failed to repair, ignoring costumers and not being responsible, not following the contract.

ARS technician came to my house and was very polite. Did a full assessment of my hvac system and gave me an honest answer that nothing was wrong at all with my unit. Definitely will be calling ARS if i have any future problems.
Christian came on time and worked tirelessly to do the semi-annual checkup of our four zone systems. I had questions about our thermostats that he answered clearly. He suggested a couple of small fixes that needed to be done before the AC season hits full swing.He explained all the charges carefully and processed the payment quickly.

ARS is not a company that leaves you hanging like others do. They are also not the cheapest or the most expensive. What they offer is why I chose them because I was tired of getting ripped off by local folks, friends, and relatives in th HVAC business. They offer service, plain and simple, excellent, fast customer service at a reasonable price. I hated giving up my old company but the didn't service gas units. So glad I discovered ARS and I love developing relationship with my service tech, Mr. Giovanni Blanco. I always ask for him.
Easy as 1-2-3. They came, they diagnosed, they ordered, they came back and everything worked perfectly AGAIN.It gets even better. Alfredo O. was extremely professional, diligent, worked incredibly hard and did excellent work. Alfredo accomplished a LOT in one day that for me constituted an emergency but to him was just another day providing me good service. My experience with this company has been terrible. I thought they were extremely unprofessional. They did not show up to 2 appointments, nor did they call to re-schedule. The only reason I am forced to work with this company is my builder selected them.
Had ARS out to perform seasonal service and they stated I needed $5000 in repairs and advised to get a new system heating and a/c. Salesman from ARC came out next day and quoted me a price and said they could have it installed in one day and they could come out 4 days later to do so. I thought what good service. I called Micheal & Son to get a second quote and they performed some maintenance and said my system was fine. BEWARE OF ARS GET A SECOND OPINION
I called to have a technician for help with my thermostat. The technician came out, and initially suggested I had installed my thermostat incorrectly (a point he later determined false, and never apologized for the accusation) and then was unable to help with my problem. In his defense, he had not seen my type of smart thermostat before and without instructions (as they are only available online) was unable to assist. He gave me a discount, but ARS still charged me nearly $50 to just tell me my settings are wrong with my thermostat. If that is worth $50, I clearly need to rethink my career choice. I will not be calling ARS again.

I’m the 1st owner of this house/system. Have reported since 2021 that very little if any air/heat blows in from two bdrms on second floor. Til today’s maintenance 8/1/23, problem still exists. Yearly maintenance has been increased to $350, replacement filters not provided and you must demand that your condenser unit is cleaned every visit. Had my Spring maintenance done in Spring, yet they schedule my Fall maintenance on Aug. 1, before heat can be checked according to Technician. Certainly will be prepared to go elsewhere once system is working as designed. I want a superior product and maintenance.

Very professional and well manner to me and my home. Cleaned up after themselves. Done everything they could to get the job done and was always on time
Called number on flier to get an AC system check, was told that the service plan would be better. That it would 'clean, check, tighten and inspect' the AC units now and then in the fall do the same for the heater. I was told this would cost me $284.88. I agreed and scheduled the visit for 10Jul17. The technician, Alfredo, came out and told me that he 'inspected' the units and that both units had leaks, one a major leak and one a smaller leak, but that I really needed to purchase two new systems because my current AC units required R-22, a gas that was soon to be discontinued and was quite expensive. I asked if the leak could be patched or repaired and was informed that they could not be 'patched' and that I could just add new R-22, but that it would cost me $1,043 to add R22 and I would need to 'replace' the evaporator coil at the cost for $2,999 a total of $4,042. With such a huge cost to 'repair' the systems, I was told that they could just replace the systems because they were both old (11 years) and did not have a warranty and because the price of the R22 was increasing daily. He was very friendly and seemed sincere in his desire to 'help me'. He then told me that ARS could have a 'comfort care specialist' come to my house immediately to help me discuss the purchase of 2 new AC units. The 'comfort care specialist' arrived on 10Jul17 and again seemed very nice and sincere. After his 'review' of my systems he diagnosed that I would require 2 new systems with a range of $12,001-$14,177 depending on the system size/type/and energy efficiency (this was because I would require an entire HVAC system replacement and then a new unit as well). I trusted both of these service providers as ARS was a trusted and reputable name and company. I thought that they were telling me the truth and that I should trust what they were telling me, which was that I needed two new systems immediately. I did not have $12-$14K available, so I had to apply for a $14K loan. It was suggested that I should apply through ARS to pay for both AC units. I trusted the sales person and made the application and was approved for a $14,177 loan to buy a new HVAC and air conditioner.The next day I spoke with my father who convinced me to call another company and obtain a 2nd quote. I called another company that my friend had used before on remodeling jobs and asked if they could fit me into their schedule to come and review and provide a quote. The company came out 11Jul17 and attached all of the gadgets to review the levels, they walked me through what I should be seeing if there were leaks or not and what all of the figures meant. They then showed that there had not been any significant cleaning nor was there any 'review' of the systems since there were still cobwebs on everything, showing that the ARS technician had not even opened up the unit. The company cleaned both systems for me. They then showed that I did not require 2 new systems.I called ARS on the 11th and informed them that the contract was cancelled (as per my 3 day cancellation notice in the contract) and that I requested a refund for the 'service plan' that I had been sold. I spoke with the manager and was told that I would be issued a refund of $288.84 and that they would like to have their service manager come to my house to verify the issue. I was further informed that the 'service plan' only inspected the units and did not 'clean, tighten', that these were extra costs. I am baffled as to why I would pay $144.42/unit for someone to 'look' at it twice a year. I informed ARS that after being lied to and swindled, that I did not desire to have them on my property again. I further stated I would post my complaint to social media, but then I decided not to since I felt that the matter had been closed. It is now a week since I was promised the refund and this has not yet been processed, therefore I am deeply disappointed that ARS has lied to me again.

After spending about a half hour of looking at the equipment the repair guy from ARS said I needed to call an electrician, he couldn’t fix it, the outside unit wasn’t working at all.So I had two HVAC technicians take a look. They found the outside switch box open & the circuit breaker to the AC switched off. I guess the ARS guy was having an off day when he was here. I paid $239.00 to Bud Matthews. I have requested that ARS reimburse me that amount because if their technician had done his job properly I would not have had to get someone else to do the job. I spoke with someone at the ARS office who said she would contact accounting and someone would get in touch with me soon. I’m waiting.

My thermostat went out and a snow storm was on the way. It was late in the day but ARS/Rescue Rooter Durham came through! It was like being rescued by an angel. Alfredo O was not only professional, he was knowledgeable and so reassuring. He replaced and programmed the new thermostat in no time at all. Great mannerism, smart and helpful. Beware! Horrible customer service once they get their money. I had technician Zack Wilson come to my house to sell me a new HVAC unit. Customer service of course was great until after they received their money. After that, I was left fighting for my unit to function properly. First, They promised to install new google nest thermostats. They only installed one and left. I called the company and I had to have them come TWO separate times just to install the thermostats correctly. Then to make all matters worse my NEW HVAC stopped working when the weather got cold. My roommate called me while I was in another country to tell me the house was basically unlivable due to the temperature. I called the company countless times during my vacation. The first time they came out a technician did not investigate the problem, he did something to get it to work temporarily without fixing the real issue. Meanwhile, the system stops working again and no one could come to the house for several days. Once someone finally came to the house they told me I had to buy another $800 worth of material to get my BRAND NEW HVAC to work. This defeated the whole purpose of getting a new HVAC so I would not have to deal with these problems. My roommate still had to deal with a non-functioning HVAC while I had to spend my vacation making countless phone calls. The last time a technician came to my home he took out all the vent filters and left them around the home. I am extremely disappointed in the lack of professionalism and it does not make me trust their repairs when I know techs are just jerry-rigging a brand new system I spend thousands of dollars on. Very disappointed.

Alfredo Olivo came and fixed our problem. He was courteous and neat. Only negative, which may not be his fault, was that when we contacted ARS, they told us the service technician would call when on his way and he just showed up. Perhaps they company did not give him the message to call us so that is why I don't know if it was his fault. Other than that, great job.

Google ARS complaints before you buy a new HVAC system! ARS charges very steep labor fees to replace defective parts, even parts that are under warranty. Apparently only the part is under warranty. The labor, which can run thou$ands is not. Parts that normally last the life of HVAC systems seem to routinely fail on ARS installed systems. I have spent over $2000 to replace defective on a fairly new HVAC system I wouldn't call ARS even for the maintenance plan I purchased. They have enough of my money!

The repair person was nice told me a estimate on how much it will cost to repair and repair my thermostat and flushed he said it would be cheaper to replace. Will what he fixed went out again and when the estimate person came out he estimated a hire price so high I called my sis who got a new unit last yr they paid $5000 I was quoted two price 10,000 with a discount ( I'm disabled) of 2000 , $8,000 second $9,000 with a 2000 discount $7,000 this is with using the same ductwork. The lowest end is 5000 with new ductwork 8,000. So now I'm out of a few bucks and no air. They kept telling I can finance. I found them thru Homedepo which I thought was quoting me but it was this company that homedepo has a contract with.. ARS

Well, I purchased an AC unit two years ago. After a year, it leaked and destroyed my ceiling. Mind you, it was the middle of summer and it took about a month for them to get the part and fix my ceiling. Unfortunately, it's leaking again with the same results, a damaged ceiling. The unit is cooling but, the technician did not see where the problem was or what was causing it. Infact, the technician was giving his opinion of where the problem wasn't, insinuating that it wasn't the unit. Stating that the leak was coming from another source. That is the only thing in my attic that has water in it. The leak is in the same exact spot from the first time. It has not rained on my house in 3 weeks. You be the judge.
Alfredo arrived right on time, introduced himself, and did a great job of explaining what his plans were to repair my AC. He was professional but also personable and even wore booties over his shoes when in my home. He fixed my AC quickly and gave me some tips about preventing future problems.
ARS replaced two complete HVAC systems in one day. All before my wife got home from work. She couldn’t even tell we had two crews working in attic and in crawl space. Absolutely impressed with how well both installs went. Bought through Home Depot and highly recommend ARS.

My heat pump's thermostat failed suddenly, such that neither the cooling nor heating temperature could be set above 42 degress. Michael (Tech #483) performed the repair over 2 days. The repair was rather complicated; Mike had replaced the thermostat with a new Infinity wireless thermostat – finicky, balky, and requiring delicate adjustment, which he patiently did. But then he discovered that the circuit board on the heat pump was also not functioning. He went to get a new circuit board, but by the time he returned it was raining and he could not open the heat pump to install the circuitboard. Nonetheless, he gamely waited in his car well over two hours, just to see if there might be a break in the rain sufficient to complete the repair. There never was, so we rescheduled for Saturday, the first dry day predicted for the week. He was a bit delayed, but worked until well after 9 PM to install the circuitboard. I commend his patience and persistence in trying to get the system up despite the adversities of additional parts failing unexpectedly, and bad weather. He put in long days both Thursday and Saturday in his efforts to complete the job--an extra effort not everyone would give the customer.
Great service and great technician. Always pleasant. I like that the same technician is sent every time. He knows my system well now and is able to give the advice I need.

The service provided to fix the gas heater by Josh B, was excellent. He came on time. Weather was against everyone last week. Decision on checking heat pump and being able to correctly find a mistake. He ordered and received unusual heating pump, it become shipped and delivered to the repairman and regardless of terrible weather, it was installed immediately next day at lunch. He deserves a huge applause for being on time, especially when every other company had cancelled all people who needed appointments due to terrible weather. I'm grateful and thank you. Margaret
Our tech, Carlos, called to let us know he was on the earth and arrived within the one hour window we were told. Carlos was polite and professional and took his time explaining the problem. We didn’t feel like he was rushing to get to next appointment and he fixed our issue! He was also very kind and wet enjoyed talking with him.

Like this company but the communication is terrible, text messages,calling fla. When you live in NC asking for the person who sent to you negative 0. Being given an appointment Dec.22 and then taken til 26 was a hardship left in cold with a transplant patient was frightening. Then to get no one the phone I have never experienced this with your company. We love ARS have filled out over 30 applications for heat/air and will do again but this needs to be addressed. Christian came to my home as one of the ARS techs with greatest expertise in the multiple things I had requested. I was having air quality issues in my house and I knew I had moisture in the crawlspace and probably mold etc on my HVAC coils and ducts. I also wanted to install a NEST system for my thermostats. Christian arrived soon after I called ARS and we discussed what I wanted for both of my HVAC systems - I have a split level with an older portion of the house having one system and an addition having another. Christian was patient and knowledgeable and he tackled one system and then the other. I got UV lights for the pans and coils to keep things from growing on them and an ozone-free scrubber cartridge for the newer system. I already had scrubbers on both systems but had them disconnected because I did not like the ozone generation system it was using. Christian understood the concern and offered cartridges that were ozone free so I could use my existing scrubbers but without the ozone production. The ducts were fine on that newer system. Christian set up my NEST thermostats (one for each system) and showed me how to download the app for my phone and my husbands phone. He then tackled the diagnosis of the older duct system. As I suspected there were problems with the old ducts (done in 1986 originally) that a cleaning would not fix- too filthy- and a humidity problem with the crawl space. We discussed options, agreed on the pricing, and Christian and his partner Alfredo came the next day to install a crawlspace dehumidifier, UV light, media filter, and to replace the ducts. The nest thermostat had been put in that system the night before. The air quality was immediately improved in my house. Christian and Alfredo worked all day and got it all set up. My husband inspected the work and was very impressed - he used to inspect weatherization work. Christian answered all of my questions and showed me the cruddy ducts that were replaced. From start to finish all of this work got done in a matter of days. My system will be inspected twice a year to keep all of this running smoothly and cleanly. Great technical work, great service - bottom line.

They replaced my upstairs unit a few months ago, and I am very happy with the excellent service. Prompt & professional Adante was able to provide me a quote today the same day I called, and set up a next day replacement of my lower level HVAC unit for a fair price.

I do not recommend ARS. They came to my home today to service my units, both were working fine before they arrived. Within 2 hours of them leaving neither unit was working. It is over 90 degrees outside and sweltering inside our home. It is unacceptable that they were paid to service units that were working well and left us without any air conditioning.

Kevin Melendez came out today and exemplified true professionalism. He listened intently and allowed me to vent my frustration regarding the service call that did not happen. I called on 5/26/21 to schedule a 5/28/21 quote. I was told someone would show up between 11 am and 2 pm. No call prior to the appointment raised a red flag, but it was a holiday Monday and I did not look too much into it. No call during 11-2 window, no text, no email, no voicemail, no visit - NOTHING prior to the appointment, so at 2:09 pm I called the ARS office and spoke to John who told me either himself or someone from his office would call me back - THAT NEVER HAPPENED! Fast Forward to today 6/8/21 Not one person from dispatch, the call center, the person giving the quote - NO ONE from ARS called to follow up or reschedule. This is completely UNACCEPTABLE. The picture below is what happens when you don't keep a scheduled appointment for a paying customer who has been on your books since 2006. It's a Carrier from Michael & Son. ARS has lost a customer for life. ARS could offer me to install a Free A/C and offer a 20 year warranty at this point and I'd say Hell NO!!! You don't treat customers of over 14 years like they don't matter and that's how you made me feel. Here’s the kicker: my next door neighbor called ARS, got a quote the first day, A/C was installed the very next day. I paid much less for a brand new unit and customer service ARS could never match. If Senior Management does not accept accountability - they're part of the problem and if your 'regulars' are more important than customers making new purchases then you should not be in business. Profit before people does not create win/win business outcomes and apparently ARS hasn’t learned that yet. Thank you for showing me who you really are despite it taking 14 years for it to happen. Don’t attempt to contact me, I’m no longer, nor will I ever be an ARS customer again - WE’RE DONE!

We have a contract with ARS on systems that they installed. Their “discounted” rate for a warranty repair was higher than the undiscounted rate of others . They told me that they would give me $50 additional off but in the week between the diagnosis and fix, they claimed that their rate jumped to cover the $50.

We were in need of a new HVAC unit, but I was putting it off because of the price quoted by a local competitor. Through a chance trip to Home Depot an appointment was set up and Adante came out to the house to quote us a new HVAC unit, distribution box, zoning board, and thermostats at a fraction of the price. The work was scheduled for the very next day and even though it took a day and a half to do the work, they made sure they restored connectivity by the first day so we wouldn't be without A/C or heat. All their work is guaranteed so when it was decided that the circuit breaker needed to be lowered because our unit was now more efficient, they came back out within 48 hours. Also, when I noticed that there was a gas smell, they came out immediately and tightened all connections. They were courteous, kind, efficient, and diligent. Adante was knowledgeable and explained everything thoroughly. I am truly happy with our new unit.

The technician was very professional and apologetic abot me having to wait for 2.5 hr after I got a phone call saying the technician was on his way and would be at my place in 30 min. I called 3 times asking what was going on that the technician was still not here 1hr after the call. I repeated that 2 more times at 1/2 intervals and could never get a response other than I would receive a call back. It never happened. Very poor customer service!

I have had a system installed by ARS and it has not worked for over a year. Each service person who comes out to the house had a different thing that they think is wrong and unfortunately none of them have been correct. Go elsewhere for your heating and cooling needs.

Jose Baker was the service technician who came to work on my A/C thermostat problem. He was on time, polite, and communicated the problems with my unit clearly. I very much appreciated his professionalism.
I had Jeffrey Little come out to tune up my air conditioning units on a new home. He was extremely professional, knowledgeable and courteous. He discovered an issue with my capacitor in my upstairs unit, thoroughly explained how this could affect my system and provided me with a very reasonable quote to make the repair. Highly recommend for other first time home buyers.

Xavier D. is an excellent HVAC Tech, he answered all of my questions, very professional, he goes above and beyond. Very pleased. He is one of the reasons that I, as a home inspector, recommend ARS to all of my clients to have their systems checked out by a specialist and to maintain their systems with bi-annual servicing.
Before calling ARS for a seasonal checkup, I had no problems with my heating and air. They offered an introductory rate for a checkup, and at that time I signed up for a yearly contract for them to check my HVAC system twice per year: once in the spring, and once in the fall. After the beginning of their service, my system shut down twice. The second time, my A/C stopped working. When they came out to fix it, I was told my capacitor had failed, but they had a spare and they replaced it......for over $200. Come to find out, capacitors are pretty cheap to come by (around $20), and very easy to replace, since they fail quite often. Needless to say, they no longer provide service for me and my family.
A tech came out to fix a gas leak and said he had confirmed it and asked if we wanted it repaired. He attributed the problem to lack of plumbers dope when initially installed. (The gas company came out when we first smelled the leak, identified the source and shut off the gas.) We said yes. After completing the work, he told me the charge was $627 for about 30 minutes work. I asked for a breakdown of the charges. He told me he could not provide it and I would have to talk to the office.I've now called three times, three promises of a callback from accounting and no response. Next stop is small claims court.

Not happy with service on my upstairs gas furnace today, unit has been working fine until technician finished telling me I should have blower replaced. Went upstairs to turn heat on and furnace is dead and this tells me technician didn't do the final check to see if unit was working.This is all I'm saying.
They are the Home Depots preferred installer for water heaters in Mebane. They gave me a quote that was 3X what my local plumber actually charged me ($440 vs $1300 ! ! ! ) to install the unit I bought at Home Depot.

He called first and had everything he needed; and was very polite and professional and did the job quickly and unobtrusively.He even put on indoor booties to come into the house without having to be asked! Derrick arrived during the scheduled time. I was glad that he was assigned to our service call since he had previously serviced our HVAC system. He quickly determined that the capacitor on the condensing unit was bad and replaced it. The system immediately came back on after power was turned on.

Here we go again....not only a few days ago did I make a call to them to stop CALLING EVERY OTHER DAY when I have already told them I had services completed and did not need their assistance and to take me off the lists. They reply to my review that they will share this information to make stuff like this stop happening and others aware....Spoke to a rep. the other day and she took me off and made notes so that this would not happen again. Apologized and such. Apparently NO ONE GOT THE NOTE. I got TWO MORE CALLS. This is incredibly unprofessional and getting outrageous. Looks like, yet again, I have to make another call about this and get someone higher up to actually listen and do their job.EDITED 10/5/2020 : THEY STILL WON'T DELETE MY INFORMATION AND STOP CALLING. Poor Diagnosis, and Worse Customer Service.My HVAC/ Furnace stopped working last weekend and I called ARS to come and diagnose it. The technician that came out briefly looked at it and determined that the inducer motor was not working and needed to be replaced. He quoted me ~$3K to replace the motor, but suggested that b/c the unit was 12years old it probably would have more issues and needed to be replaced. Later that afternoon a sales rep from ARS came out and quoted replacing the Furnace, and entire system. When I let him know I would be getting another quote (replacement was $10K or more) he was frustrated and told me that 8/10 clients go ahead with replacement.When the second HVAC Repair Servicer came the next day he quickly determined that a dirty hose to the inducer motor was the issue the unit was running in minutes. When I told him my experience w/ARS he was floored. Not only that they missed what he saw as a basic diagnosis, but the high pricing to replace the motor, and push to replace the unit.I've reached out to ARS 3x since my service call to share this exchange in the hope that they can use this as a training experience and that this is not how they'd conduct their service- pricing high service and pushing homeowners to replace their HVAC under duress. No one from ARS has returned my request for a call. I would caution anyone from using this company, and at the minimum encourage a second opinion/bid for any services from them.

ARS did my semiannual HVAC maintenance on my 2 AC units in June 2015. Josh Baker did a very good job checking out the units for proper operation and then cleaned (washed) them off with a detergent and hose. I was impressed by his diligence. He did a very thorough service and updated me on how well the units were doing and whether or not there may be any foreseeable problems coming up. This is how professional HVAC maintenance should be done.
He was very respectful and professional and knowledgeable about his job. He informed me about what he had to do and pre treat possible upcoming maintenance

Only giving two stars because the technicians are some of the friendliest people I have met and care a lot about the customers. ARS Rescue Rooter, as a whole, is a company that makes false promises without ever planning to make things right with their customers. They should be completely embarrassed and I hope people think twice before using their services.

The first he corrected another HVAC company's mistake that caused me to replace my master bath ceiling. This visit he made recommendations and replaced a capacitor that was needed. Terrible experience.I asked to schedule an appointment for a technician to come to my house to fix my AC early in the morning so I wouldnt miss work. The lady on the phone said the best they could do was an appointment between 8am-12pm, thats already way too big of a time window but I went with it. Around 11:45 still no technician so I call just to check in and they said someone would call me back with the tech's ETA, no one called back. Around 12:30 I called again and they said he was delayed and his ETA was 1-1:30. At 1:30 he still hadn't arrived so I call again and they said they tried to call me at 10:30am but no one picked up so the tech was rerouted to the next customer and I was essentially skipped over. I was glued to my phone all day and not once did anyone call/text saying he was on his way and no voicemail was left either (my voicemail box was not full). I had also called multiple times after 10:30 and this call they supposedly made wasn't mentioned until I called a third time. At this point the lady on the phone is arguing with me about whether or not they called me so I asked to be transferred to the manager. The manager apologizes and offers me a small discount on the $109 service fee and promises that he will be there eventually but that she couldn't tell me when. At 3:30 I called again and he said someone would call me with the updated ETA for the tech, again no one called. At 4:00 I called again and she said a new tech had been dispatched and was heading straight to me and would be there in about 45mins. So finally at 5:00 the tech shows up. Joseph the technician was very kind, knowledgeable, and professional which was the only positive part of this experience. I understand things happen and people get delayed but to have an appointment between 8am-12pm and the technician shows up at 5pm after 4-5 phone calls from me was absolutely unacceptable. I could never justify using ARS again because of this experience as I had to take an entire day off of work for a 30 min repair.

Heat pump stopped working. Called ARS Sunday morning at 9 AM. Rich arrived at 10 AM and quickly diagnosed the problem, explained the options and cost, and got to work repairing the unit. He was very professional. The cost was higher than I had anticipated but the swift repair was worth it when it’s hitting 90+ degrees every day!

These guys are terrible, I can't recommend them. I paid $8000 for an HVAC unit to be installed in the fall. That summer when I needed to use the AC, the system failed so loudly, it literally woke the neighborhood. I shut the system off, and called ARS (still under warranty.) They told me that because they could not recreate the noise, they couldn't solve the problem. TWO years later, my ceiling fell in. The emergency plumber (who also happened to be an HAVC co.) investigated my attic. He told me that the co. that installed my system (ARS) did so without installing a proper drain or alarm to shut the system off when a condensation problem arose. The AC system flooded the ceiling and caused it to fall in. I have water damage to my downstairs bathroom, hallway, and living room. I called ARS 4 times that day to help me, and no one showed. I got angry, called again, and a service tech, that I would NEVER hire again at 8:00 pm. He said that my AC unit became unleveled and that caused the alarm to stop. I asked him how an AC unit can become unleveled.He couldn't explain it. What he didn't want to admit is that it was installed improperly. You can't trust ARS to help you out. Also, the folks answering calls and coming to the house don't really care about your problem and are rude. Go with another company.

I got a new heat pump installed in December 2018. In October 2019 (10 months after installation) it wasn't working. It took me 5 days to get an appointment to get it fixed. I was disappointed in the product and in the service.
Driss arrived on time and was very personable. He was knew what to do, asked questions about the unit, did what needed to be done and was out. It was a pleasure to work with him. I hope that he will be sent the next time.

They replaced my entire HVAC system. The service techs accidentally put a hole in my ceiling as the furnace is in the attic, but they sent a repair person the very next day to fix it. Complete professionalism throughout the process. Very pleased with service and equipment.
I am always so satisfied with the service that Josh of ARS provides us with each year. He arrives promptly, gets the job done efficiently and effectively, and makes valuable suggestions as what we may need going forward. He has earned my trust by his performance and his experience.
I set an appointment in the early hours of Saturday, and a technician was at my home before 3p same day. The inspection and repair took about 30 minutes, and the tech explained my options clearly. As always, the recommended repairs far exceeded the needed ones, but that's salesmanship, and I don't begrudge it. Long story short: great response time, fixed the AC unit, and the price was ok. We all want to spend less. The review would have been 4 stars if they'd rolled the $100 service call fee into the repair payment instead of leaving it as a separate item. That's what took it from truly reasonable to pricey.

Confirmed twice for a noon appointment. Gal called day before says can't make it till between 3 and 4 PM. About 5 PM their guy calls and says he can't make it. If this is an example of their service forget it, too many other HVAC contractors who stand by their word. I'll complain to Home Depot who is pushing them.

My furnace went out Sunday. MIke from ARS came Tues afternoon. Figured out the problem quickly, burned out motor. Mike was able to find a replacement, went and got it, installed it snd I had heat in under 4 hours! Mike is very knowledgeable, polite, instructive and glad to show you the problem and how to avoid it in the future. Mike was grest - if I have another heating/ cooling issue I'll requesr him! Been an ARS customer fir 12 years.

Short and to the point. I read the majority of the reviews and those who had the bad experience i can relate to. I had them evaluate a system at my property, and the assessment given was totally askew. The technician looked at the indoor system only, said it was shot and covered with mold, and that he could do all the work for $15000.00. He never bothered to check the outside unit where he would have found the unit needed freon. The other company checked everything, added freon, and made no recommendations for any indoor parts replacements, and the unit has been working fine ever since. All this company wants to do is make sales based on customers' lack of knowledge and fear (mold). I called twice and left messages for a supervisor to call me, and it's now two months, and the crickets are winning. Do yourself a favor, stay away from this company, and save your money and time. Anyone is better than this company.Update: The company gave a cookie cutter reply (expected) about being sorry to hear they fell short of my expectations and provided a number to contact Quality Assurance to which I did, no answerd so I left my number as instructed and have yet to be contacted. Silence... sometimes speak volumes.

Technician who stoped by behaved more like a salesman than someone who came to fix the issue. Diagnosis was provided without even looking at the unit or thermostat. After we kindly asked him several times to still examine the unit, he found 2 more issues that needed fixing. At that time, he and ARS lost all credibility, and we went with small contractor who fixed everything for 1/3 of a price.

Before I rant, I must say the Service Techs for ARS are very good and reliable. The problem I have is I spend $14,000 and was sold a piece of Junk. Rheem? Yea, I feel like we are getting just that. The $14,000 unit replaced a 38 yo system that other than a Freon boost from time to time, was spot on. So far, we have replaced the Mother Board 3 times, been several days without heat or cool while waiting for parts. Theupgraded Nest Thermostats only work part time. Now, we have been informed our Fan motor has come undone and needs replaced. $1500. JUNK! We were sold Junk!

Justin W. performed my service yesterday. It was a regular scheduled service. Everything was professionally done and Jason seemed to know what he was doing.I recommend these guys; I've been working with them for years. They replaced one original contractor unit and provided another system when we added on to the house. We're asking them for an estimate for the other original unit that has lived out its lifetime.
Alfredo arrived for our appointment on time and presented himself in a very professional manner. After reviewing my maintenance concerns he proceeded to investigate the situation and thoroughly explained and/or provided visual evidence of what he found again in a straightforward, professional manner. He made arrangements for an ARS Comfort Advisors to follow up with me in a timely manner. I highly recommend ARS Rescue Rooter as they are professional and timely from the start of the process throughout the project completion.
Unfortunately we did not have a good experience with our technician from ARS. He was not pleasant to work with and did not explain the problem/solution well. When we would ask clarifying questions for our understanding, he seemed very annoyed to help.We contacted ARS regarding an HVAC repair. Part of our frustration was his insistence that we needed major repairs to fix our HVAC issue. When we got a second opinion, they weren’t in agreement that such repairs were needed. So it was discouraging to know ARS diagnosis was untrustworthy to just sell us expensive repairs.We also were frustrated by his lack of communication. When he first came out, he put in a fix and left without explaining next steps to get our HVAC working again. We then spent another day wondering why nothing was different (after spending a significant amount of money already) and had to call ARS back out again. If he had communicated up front next steps, it would have saved an extra visit and we would have had our HVAC working sooner.Ultimately, I would rather work with a different company for future HVAC needs. The quality of service was fine, but it’s not worth the lack of communication, unkindness, and untrustworthiness. I would recommend others do the same.

They were supposed to be in my house at 11:00-2:00…called twice. They said they’ll call back see where the technician is and call me back… never did. I was supposed to be given call 30 minutes before arrival. He arrived at 4:30 with no.call… just showed up. He asks what is it that I need help with (he was not told.) I told him my dehumidifier, he says we do not maintain dehumidifiers, we only install!!! And he left. The problem was not the technician, it was from the start; setting the appointment and the follow up. Very, very inefficient!

I recommend this company 100%. I got a huge discount. Originally got quoted close to $15k and they worked with me to bring the price down to 10k. Still a lot of money, but AC is an essential item for homes.
We took advantage of the HVAC checkup offered at our local Home Depot and are very pleased that Derek was the technician who provided that checkup. He did a very very thorough job explaining our system to us and made us aware of what offers are available to us. His knowledge and attention to detail is greatly appreciated.

**Edit: After leaving this review, a representative from ARS reached out to me. She was very apologetic and didn't make any attempts to make excuses for the technicians. After explaining the assessment the 2nd HVAC company made, she also confirmed that what the 2nd HVAC company told me was accurate. While my experience with the technicians from ARS were terrible, the follow up by customer service is a model example for other companies. It shows a high level of ownership and a commitment to doing what's right for the customer. Based on my conversation, I feel like my experiences were likely an unfortunate series of one-off events that isn't typical of ARS. I would be comfortable giving them another shot in the future.**Original review: The company is dishonest and I'm very surprised to see them rated so highly. I had a technician FORGE MY SIGNATURE on an invoice and contract for an estimated $2000+ in work to be done.The company is also unprofessional and overpriced. I was charged $500 to replace a capacitor (which wasn't the issue) on the first visit. Technicians had to come to my house an additional two times for the same issue without ever fixing the problem. On the third visit, they left me with an invoice for over $2000 in warranty work in order to be able to complete the repair. ARS provided no scope of work or itemization of the repair costs.Based on the inconsistent messaging from the various technicians, I was very uncomfortable with the price on the invoice. I finally called another HVAC company to validate what I was being told by ARS who quoted me $600 LESS THAN what ARS was prepared to charge.I strongly recommend finding another HVAC company and taking your business elsewhere.

**HIGHLY DO NOT recommend the stress of dealing with these people**I called ARS on 7/20 to schedule an appointment for 7/21 - they gave me an 8am-12 window for an emergency pipe replacement. I was relieved to be able to find someone that could come and get the job done.Well, 7/21 rolls around, 8am, 9am, 10am - I finally get a call to tell me they will get someone out there but do not have a technician. Ok, no problem.11am, Noon, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm...I have to call them. I ask will someone be getting out there today - yes ma'm, it will be today, I cannot give you a time. We are doing the best we can.Lying about your ability to service someone is not doing the best you can. Putting a terrible burden on already stressed customers is not doing the best you can.Job still isn't fixed. No word from these folks, still. That's not professionalism. That's not a company I want to work with.

The experience was very good. The sales tech Stephen M. did a great job of accessing my AC/Heating old unit and determined the correct new one. He was knowledgeable about what needed. We discussed the different options and how the installation process would work. When I had additional questions he fould the solutions.The team that installed my new unit was early and very friendly. They told me everything they would be doing. They cleaned everything up nicely, took away the old unit. Assisted me in programming the new thermostat. They made me feel comfortable every step of the way. Great job!

I arrived home on a Sunday afternoon from an out of town trip to find a leak in my dining room. I called ARS Roto Rooter because I have used them on several other occasions and received satisfactory service. I described the problem in my home and explained that I have had problems with the poly butelene piping in my home, and I suspected this was the problem. The person answering the phone told me to call American Leak Detection to have them find the leak and to then call ARS roto Rooter back to do the repair. It was obvious the person at ARS did not want to respond to my situation. Thankfully I was able to locate another plumber who came, located the leak and made a timely repair. If ARS is not going to respond to weekend emergencies they should not advertise 24/7 services. That is false advertising. They have lost a customer as I am going to have the new found plumber take care of some other projects in my home.

We have a maintenance contract with ARS. They are consistent in contacting us to set up an appointment and work with us to do it when we are available. Gilbert, our technician stayed in contact with us, respected our home, was efficient, and polite. I have owned a small service business so understand the importance. They did it all the right way.
Michael knew his stuff and quickly diagnosed my air conditioner's problem. He described all of my options and helped me make the best choice for my situation. I'm very satisfied.

We had a new furnace installed in July. The furnace had multiple problems showing an error on the thermostat and I called ARS to let them know...it took a few days for the maintenace person to come..temps were 90+ degrees and we had no AC. We had this problem for 3 weeks and each time it was checked it would work for a few days and the error would reappear on the thermostat .Frustrating! Finally one of the managers (Randy) came and after 2 visits the machine was worked fine!everyone at ARS that we spoke too did their best to fix the problem.

Two techs came out and neither had the (nitrogen) materials to conduct a leak test. First tech at least explained his reasoning. The second (first call of the day) said he didn’t restock his service truck and the office wasn’t open this morning and dispatch shouldn’t have scheduled my service for a Sat. Wouldn’t listen to my concerns from the previous days visit and said he wasn’t going to be working in the rain anyway because he couldn’t see, even though he never ventured out to look at the compressor in the back yard. Two entirely different visits by the techs. First was great.ARS followed up with a call and I spoke with their head of customer service and she responded by actually listening FULLY to my concerns, apologized and sent another tech on Monday afternoon. Night and day difference in service. The tech was GREAT! He walked me thru everything he was seeing and showed me where the leak had occurred and explained why it may have happened. Couldn’t have been more pleased with how they handled my discontent. Change this review to 4.5 stars. 1/2 star less because of the second technician.

Erik did a great job of replacing our motherboard on our Carrier Air Conditioner after a lightening strike. He also rewired and reprogrammed our thermostat to our preferences.
Bought a brand new HVAC unit from these folks and installed around January 2022. Around June, unit was not cooling the house adequately, with temperatures reaching around 80 degrees F inside. Had a technician out, said he couldn't find anything wrong and with the unprecedented heat, the unit couldn't keep up. After a day or two of more 80+ temp in our house, I called them out again, only for the technician to not show up this time at all.Called a third time and this new technician found an issue with the txv, which was replaced in a couple days. System worked somewhat well for about three days until now it's completely off, in the middle of a heat wave. Thermostat off, no air being pumped, with no explanation. They're getting someone out as soon as possible, but for all I know it'll be another no show. I've completely lost faith in this company. Have had issues on a literal fresh out the box unit within 6 months, and have had technicians out 6 times in two weeks, half of which say nothing is wrong when clearing something's not working. It's disappointing that after installing the unit recommended by their salesmen (that broke our attic scuttle by the way), it's preforming worse than the furnace in our house that was 26 years old and unit outside that was 15 years old. As a new homeowner, this has been one of the worst customer experiences I've ever had.*edit* I was asked to call Lora in response to this review, and I actually contacted her the day before, about a week ago now. Left a voicemail and haven't received a call back yet.

I had a great experience with ARS from start to finish. Nanette (the Inside Sales rep) was extremely helpful. She was very personable and patient and made sure that every question that I had was answered and thoroughly explained. I even had a question well after the installation and she was able to find the answer and get back to me that same day!
We have been customers of ARS for a very long time. I must say that Josh Baker is the very best service oriented person we have ever know, bar none.No matter how large or small the problem, he is very efficient in correcting it and most of all, very honest about what is really needed and what can wait a bit. We feel very fortunate to have had him for our technician and will continue to deal with ARS as long as Josh is there.

Even through all the headaches of my home warranty. Ultra Air was amazing professional and kept me with hope. ARS Rotor Rooter , said my system was done for. Signed me up for a maintenance plan even after they told me it couldn’t be fixed. Sent out a Sales man to quote me at 13,000 and by time he left he said 10,000 with installation next day. Debbie and Christian are wonderful! Christian diagnosed a problem yesterday I've had with my A/C for over six weeks. My Carrier unit stopped working for around three hours a night and the temperature increased by up to five degrees. Other people tested the unit, added puron, and didn't believe this was happening. Christian did and installed a new thermostat today. Carrier didn't even know what to do! I am so thankful that Debbie and Christian believed me!

After a emergency call, the technician was at our home within a few hours. The technician was nice and friendly and informative about our issues. Apparently bugs and critters like the heat the outside unit puts off, and were the reason why our Capacitor burned up, it was easily fixed. But to my surprise they charged us 514$ for a component that ranges 12$ - 150$ on line. I can understand markup of convenience and for profit, but thats just wrong . I only gave 5 stars so everyone would know how not to get robbed.

Less than three hours after I called requesting the repair my ac was up and running again. The technician was very polite. My only problem with the service was that this was the second time has been out to repair the exact same problem in less than five weeks, a blown fuse. They overlooked the likely cause the first time so of course the new fuse blew out in a matter of weeks. They DID waive the dispatch fee, but I still payed twice for the same parts and labor.

Despite the fact that it was very late in the afternoon (he had spent extra time on his previous appointment helping a disabled person set up iPad remote control of heating/cooling system) he spent a lot of time going over our system and explained everything we needed done.Alfredo O. with the same company did an excellent job on our repairs. He explained everything he was doing and did the work carefully and in a timely manner. I asked for his business card and will request him for all future repairs.

Installer arrived promptly and was courteous and professional, cleaning and inspecting our heating system and thermostat and leaving us with a list of possible issues that may arise. I was very VERY pleased and will likely use ARS to check the A/C in the spring and also to check and rotoroot our drains as well.
Ignacio figured out the problem almost instantly. This company is good; but this rep saw things that were missed by others. Good company. Ask for Ignacio if you want absolutely excellent results quickly.
They don’t clean your outside units as part of the maintenance. The units upstairs don’t look like they have been into. All they tried to do was sell me UV lights. Had another company come out and I personally watched them clean units and check inside unit upstairs. No biogrowth on my units. Beware of the upsells.

The last 2 techs sent to prepare my heating and air tune ups were very courteous, answering any questions I had. They were knowledgeable about the A/C system. The last one was so knowledgeable that I signed up for another service. All techs who have been within the time window I was given for the system tune up.
MIKE is the best of explaining and helping me understanding my system shortcomings. I truly appreciate the professionalism he portrayed in the future of helping me enjoying the forthcoming summer and winter. Thank you again, Mike!
Josh Baker was the technical rep. who inspectected my HVA/C equipment. He did son in an efficient manner, was very thorough and explained all of the elements he was checking out and any of the detail about those elements that I had questions about. I thought his service was very well done.

Timely repair service on a Sunday. Technician efficient and friendly. Kept me posted about time for service and technician called 30 minutes before he arrived.
Alfredo O. was competent thorough and fast. I couldn't ask for more. He even noticed and replaced some missing screws from a previous service by ARS.
Rich is a knowledgeable tech, willing to perform the task to help his customers. Nice attitude to go with it. Would use him again!

My AC unit died over the winter, unbeknownst to me, until the summer season temps started getting pretty high and I tried to crank it on. Undoubtedly this is a busy time for ARS, but they scheduled a next morning service call for me (a Friday). Alfredo was the AC whiz kid on the response team. He was extremely knowledgeable, efficient, friendly, and professional. All of my (many) questions were answered candidly, which goes much farther in earning my trust than a canned sales pitch. Although initially we thought repairs would be delayed until the following Monday awaiting necessary parts, he hustled behind the scenes and moved repairs up first to Saturday morning and then to later that same afternoon after managing to source the materials. He returned with a partner (Christian Martinez) and the two made quick work of a major repair in a hot and narrow attic space. I would definitely recommend this team (in fact, I already have! - lol - my neighbor noticed the service vans in my driveway and stopped to inquire about it). I could say more, but reviews that are too long don't get read...I'm already pushing the limit. (: Bottom line: 5 stars and well deserved
Mike & James completed our yearly heating system maintenance again this year. Very professional, courteous, prompt and thorough. Received great input on future upgrades for a/c and heating system.

First I would like to say I have been with ARS for many years with no problems. My experience in the last week has totally change my thinking. I have a 9 year old AC unit that was originally purchased from ARS. We pay yearly for their service contract. On sunday our AC unit went out and we called ARS at 9am. A service tech did finally come out at 6pm and mumbled that our coil was leaking and it would cost $100 a pond for coolant and about $3000 to replace. He seemed surprised when I explained that this unit was covered for parts and labor for another year. He then added some coolant said they would order part and call us is a few days. The part came in on Tuesday and a service call was set up to put in coil at 3pm wed. My husband and I both have jobs where it is extremely difficult to take time off but i did manage to rearrange my schedule to be home by that time. Wed morning we were called by ARS to say that the temp would be too hot for them to fix our AC and that they couldnt come til Friday between 8-10. I tried to explain that we have a walk in attic with the AC unit being just inside the door. Service manager wouldnt relent and told me if I wasnt happy I could get service somewhere else. I asked if they could come later in the evening and was told no. He did tell me that we would be the first call of the morning.At that point my husband rearranged his schedule once again to have this morning off. Well today comes and by 9:30 we have not seen them. My husband calls ARS and they say we are on schedule for between 1-6pm today. It was too hot wednesday but now it seems fine to come between 1-6? We have been almost a week with no AC and we have had nothing but the run around from ARS. We will be severing our relationship.
Complete replacement of ac and furnace. They were quiet, clean, and professional. Juan took his time to answer all my questions, and teach me what I needed to learn to utilize the unit. They were so quiet, I had to look for them. Great 2 man crew. I wish I had 10 more houses I would call you guys for each one.
I was scheduled between 2:00-5:00, at 7pm I canceled because the technician was still not on the way. I was rescheduled for 3 weeks later (no accommodations given). The second appointment was also 2:00-5:00. At 6:30 I called and was told the technician was still on a call then it would be another 30 minutes for travel time. I cancel again because it was getting late. The only positive was a dispatcher finally said if this has happened twice we will make sure to get you an appointment tomorrow during your window of time. The next day I was scheduled for 2-3:30. The technician came around 4:30. He spent less than ten minutes checking the system and said everything is good. I’ve had this service done 4 times and it was never that fast. I check my filters because he didn’t mention them as other technicians have. They had not been changed or checked. The were dirty (picture). The technician was still in the driveway, so I asked him about the filters and he said they don’t carry those because there was so many sizes. That he’d put a note for next time so he would have them in the truck. I have used them for 2 years and that wasn’t already noted… To wait to finally get a technician to check my system and to rush the process was disappointing. If I didn’t check my filters they would not have been changed, which I had to purchase and replace later. I will not be using their services again.
The job was finished competently. ARS was paid but it took ARS about two months after that to complete the job. The parts took a long time to arrive. That was not ARS’s fault. The lack of communication was.

My gas furnace went out on a Saturday morning and I called ARS and keep in mind there was snow and ice on the road so there was a brief delay, but they came out Sunday morning gave me pictures and information about the issues. The salesman and servicemen were all extremely knowledgeable and thorough. I know who I will be using from now on! Thank you all so very much. Even got a great deal on financing zero percent for 12 months. Me and my kids will be warm and we are extremely pleased. Folks just go with the best and get it right the first time. You won’t be disappointed

Xavier analyzed our heating problem and took several steps to improve the unit's efficiency and effectiveness. He was prompt, very considerate, and communicated issues and resolutions very well. He would be my preferred ARS service provider.
Heat does not circulate through house properly, and house can get dangerously cold before the heat automatically comes on, even though the thermostat displays the allocated temperature. The problem has been addressed, but has never been resolved.

My family and I were very happy with our experience with ARS and their technician, Alfredo. He came to the house right on time, and we received a call from ARS before he arrived. He promptly checked our system and reviewed any kind of issues, and informed us on what steps needed to be taken to fix our problems. He installed a UV light and picked up everything and left things tidy as he found it. Thank you ARS, for your service.
Very satisfied with the info he gave us. Glad it's going to he taken out and a new unit put in with someone we can trust.

Rich was great. On time for the service appointment. Very knowledgeable, helpful, courteous and professional. If I have an issue, I call ARS and ask for Rich as my technician.

CALL ANY OTHER A/C company. I hired them to inspect my A/C and was told included A/C drain line cleaning. he said he was done ,I did not see him clean the line , so I asked him about the line cleaning. He said he cut the drain line and blow through it so it did not need cleaning, then he said he glued it back together. Well that was a lie he did not cut or glue the line , because it does not have a couple in it. So he lied because he was in a hurry you did not check it. So I call the office to complain, they very flippant about it. Many other good companies out there that will not lie to you about something so stupid.
Don was fantastic! He was on time, pleasant and extremely helpful. Our situation wasn't exactly what he initially anticipated; however he really went above and beyond to get our system back up and running. He also made a suggestion that would bring our HVAC up to current code. I would highly recommend ARS and I will definitely request Don for our next service call!

I always have a fantastic experience with ARS. Very sound advice and they don’t try to take advantage or up-sell you, but ensure that your needs are met!
Beware! They said my HVAC had a leak in the coil and had mold. They recommended $2,500+ in repairs. I had a second company also check the unit. They found neither problem and no need for any repair!
Alfredo was on time and very efficient in completing repairs. With discounts, the value was better then I could have found doing the job on my own. With his expertise and ARS backing him up, I highly recommend Alfredo.

Nothing was done to address rising home relative humidity of 55-59%. Dehumidifier previously kept home at 45-47% Relative humidity. Tech guy came and said dehumidifier working “fine” then left. Home humidity still at 50-55%. Looking for other service companies.
Mike was EXCELLENT with the service. He explained to me what I needed to get done for my system to work. He made me feel comfortable and not pressured into the service that was needed. I wish I could ask for him every time anything comes up.
