Oscar worked on my home in Gallup, NM, a few times -- we moved in and needed a few immediate repairs on the house and Oscar delivered! He removed an entire fence in a matter of hours (so glad that eyesore was gone!) and helped to make sure that my new-to-me home was just right for me! We also, later on, had Oscar help us with our basement remodel. We largely did the job ourselves but had Oscar's help for a few really critical pieces of work - including all of the demolition and then HVAC work. We couldn't have done it without him and highly recommend him to others

Big Bear Mechanical helped me with a very complicated house flip on a quick timeline. It was an older home, built in 1961, and was in need of numerous repairs in plumbing, heating and electrical to bring it up to code. Big Bear went above and beyond to make everything right. Mark, the owner, personally made sure that everything was up to my satisfaction and worked tireless hours for me. I cannot thank Big Bear, and especially Mark, for patiently seeing the job through as there were many challenging situations that would test skill levels to the limits. They fixed everything to perfect working order. Mark takes a lot of pride in his work and customer satisfaction is paramount. Another HVAC vendor referred me to Big Bear after they couldn't get me an appt for about a month out. Shane and the boys were in my house in a week, I got a quote for my radiant heat system. It was a lot, but the system needed a lot. They got the work done, and guess what, it ended up being 1/2 the estimate. After the work, there was a little fine tuning issue, which they came out pronto and fixed, no charge. It's no surprise that they have so many 5 star reviews, and I'm adding mine today. From start to finish it was smooth sailing with Big Brother Mechanical. On Tuesday morning I noticed one of my wall heaters was unresponsive and reached out. They were able to squeeze me in the same day, and were at my door within 4-5 hours. Michael and Joshua were extremely kind, explained matters in a way I could understand, and detailed out the costs. The crew (Patrick, Chunks, Nestor and Jose) did a great job replacing my swamp cooler. Worked fast and left no trace. When they discovered that my old thermostat was the wrong voltage, they called in one of their own electricians to install a new one - no extra charge. Their pricing was very competitive and the recommended equipment was a big step up from what I had before.

They removed my swamp cooler and didn't seal it right, so now I have leaking in my attic into my closet (staining on my sealing). I tried to get a hold of them and haven't been able to get a hold of them via email and telephone. They also left brackets of the swamp cooler on my roof.

Called Big Bear Mechanical to winterize my swamp cooler and start up my furnace they were great! They completed the job in a timely matter. I will definitely be using them again in the future

This was my experience with this company. I needed a piece of sheet metal put on where the swamp cooler duct enters my house. I called and asked for a tech to come give me an estimate for the work. I called big bear for a estimate, along with 2 other local HVAC companies.

Big bear answered the phone quickly and had someone at my house in two days, which was awesome. The techs showed up and said and told me what they would need to do to stop my water getting in my house. I said cool. They said they would send me a quote for the work. They were at my house for 5 minutes total. Five minutes after they leave, I hear a knock on my door.

They said sorry we forgot to collect payment for the service call, it will be $89 dollars. I said What? I didn't call for service, I called for an estimate. I was even kind enough to guarantee to approve the work order.

They insisted it was policy and the tech at my house said they would add it into the work for my quote. Super weird.

I signed the $350 work order because to this point the communication had been great. After I signed the work order, I sent a email explaining there was some confusion about the $89 service fee.

Big bear then disappeared. They have not called, emailed or attempted to contact me in anyway.

Big Bear mechanical is amazing! I tried two other companies with no success! Jeremy with Big Bear came out and fixed my air conditioner problem in minutes! He saved me hundreds of dollars in repair costs. I can’t say enough good things about this company. Don't waste your time and money with other overpriced companies that lie and try to scam their customers. Give Big Bear a try. They are honest, reliable and you can’t beat the price. You won’t be disappointed!

My Moms Swamp Cooler was not cooling. I was able to schedule an appointment the very next day and early am. My mother was very pleased as was I with the prompt service, professionalism, and outstanding Customer Service we received. They were wonderful to work with! I got multiple quotes but ended up going with Big Bear Mechanical for the great customers service, quality experience, and quick time frame. They didn’t treat me like I was stupid (like the Wagner and Costco). I would HIGHLY recommend them.

Had a strange situation with a leaky roof from a recent replacement, but after the rains, the roof was still leaking. Suspecting maybe it was the AC instead of the roof somehow, I had Big Bear come out to check. The two installers immediately knew something was off and it didn't make sense for the AC unit to be draining the way it was. Turns out, the roofers did not pull out the drainage tube at the time of roof replacement, so the drainage tube was in between the new roof and plywood boards that is the roof of my garage. There was nothing they could do obviously, but they wrote up the results so I could take it to my roofers to be resolved. Both installers were on time, fast, and knowledgeable. I always look for the somewhat smaller companies because they tend to be straight with you and not over sell, and these guys delivered that and more. Will use again in the future.

We had Big Bear Mechanical come out because our furnace went out at the end of last winter and it was admitting Carbon Monoxide. Our furnace was red tagged. Mark at Big Bear came out and explained everything to me and what he needed to do. He was very professional and completed the work in about an hour. Not only did he fix the furnace, he replaced the vents, and created extra ventilation in the dry wall. The heater is working great and it's looks great! He also followed up to make sure there was no Carbon Monoxide! Prices were fair and even lower than the other two places I received quotes from. I'll definitely be using Big Bear Mechanical for issues around the house in the future. Thanks Big Bear!!!

This is my experience with Big Bear Mechanical. I put in a maintenance request through my apartments to get my bathtub fixed since it had been draining slow. Two guys show up to look at it, one seems to be training the other. They did not have the tools they needed to fix the tub at the time so we set up a time for them to come back, that day arrives and I am waiting and waiting all afternoon for the plumber to show up or call. I finally get a call at 5 and the plumber said he was sorry he didn't see me at the bottom of the work list and he wouldn't be coming out. Frustrating but okay I understand things happen so we set up another time for him to come back. A day later the company sends me a text message confirming the appointment, a person calls me from big bear to confirm the appointment and I also receive an email with the appointment time. The day comes for the plumber to come back and again I am waiting, waiting, waiting. I called big bear and was told he would be in touch. Its ten til 5 and he finally calls, he gave me the EXACT SAME EXCUSE AGAIN I didn't see you at the bottom of the work order, I cant make it, when would be a good time to come back? I told him today, you can come today since that's when you were scheduled and this is the second time you've left me waiting all day without a call or update. He then replied that he was the owner of Big Bear and he would not be coming at all because of what I said. I tried to explain my frustration in the lack of communication and he simply said find someone else and hung up. Perhaps they should have sent the text, call and email to this guy to remind him.

In the middle of the day my refrigerated air unit stopped working and the house got very hot. This company was quick to respond to my messages and was able to get someone to come the very next morning. The technician who showed up, Jeremy, was friendly and was able to educate me on the system I have without being condescending, which I really appreciate. I will keep using them in the future if I need any other services.

Do not go with this company! They have no idea what they are doing and will continue to have to come back to your house or business to fix the issue. They say they will come back in a few hours but yet they never do and always push it to the next day or even a few days after they said they would be there. Horrible company to do business with! I recommend you stay away from this place.

Company responded quickly to assess the problem with a leaky outside faucet. An estimate was received immediately and work was scheduled promptly. The day the repair was scheduled, the plumber looked over the faucet again before proceeding with the work and discovered that there was an easier, less costly way to fix the problem. Very happy with the service and quality of the work done.

Overprice quote by 10k for a a/c unit with a little ductwork. I received several prices from other companies that where willing to do the job the way I asked. Buyer beware

Big Bear Mechanical was recommended to me by a friend. I had several companies look at my heater doing a quick fix to a major overhaul with scare tactic. Mark came out the next morning and evaluated my heating system. He advised me to look at another issue, my hot water heater. It had rust and calcification inside. Mark’s guys replaced my hot water heater and furnace cheaper and quicker than the larger company.
Mark and his workers are professional and knowledgeable. I support small businesses!
I will definitely use Big Bear Mechanical for any future needs.

I've had trouble with a new York heat pump on the heat cycle since it was installed two years ago. I've had 2 HVAC specialists out here to correct a problem left by the installer (TLC) but with no luck. Today, Mike and Joshua from Big Bear Mechanical came out and quickly diagnosed the problem as the thermostat. They replaced it and now the heat strip cycles on and off properly by itself and maintains a comfortable temperature (70 deg. F) without my constant intervention. Apparently, the heat strip had never been wired correctly to turn on at all. I would highly recommend this company and it will definitely be my go-to company in the future.

Excellent service! Easy to schedule for my tenants.

1. We asked to replace our furnace with a combo unit. All they did was add a cooling system to out old furnace and call it a day. Sadly we did not realize that. Now that it is summer our air conditioner does not work. Turns out the cooling system is too high power and does not match the furnace. As a result it freezes over and stops working...
They did not give us what we asked for and what they did give us doesn't even work...

2. We have payed them for another repair job. They said they are waiting on the wood. That was 10 months ago... We have called multiple times to follow up. Eventually that stoped answering our calls. Completely ghosted.

My advice: Do not used Big Bear.
