On Christmas Day, we discovered our water heater was leaking and our entire basement was flooded. Not the greatest thing to discover during the holidays... but this company quickly resolved it for us!
Left a message Christmas Day, received a call at 9:00 the next morning (on a Teusday!) They said they'd be by in an hour to take a look. The Tech arrived at 10:00, went to pick up a replacement water heater, replaced it, and was out of there by 12:30.

I contacted American Way for heating repair and they were able to come out the same day. They were very professional and knew what they were doing. They fixed the problem quickly and efficiently. I would definitely recommend them to anyone in need of heating repair.

DO NOT USE. They came to my residence (within an hour which was the one positive thing) but did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I had a leaking hot water heater when they came and still had one when they left. They looked at it, acknowledged it was leaking, and said there was nothing they could do to fix it. Still charged me a service visit fee.

Very over price charged 100.00 for a 10.00 part and after that wasn't the problem..the guy wanted to charge me 500.00 for the part that was only 150.00. After I told him never mind he still took part off and took it to his truck..and I had to call police on this guy.or it was going to get real ugly..never call these guys they are crooks

Sewage was coming into the garage after a rain, and this company sent their Servicemen out within a few hours to clear the main sewer line. They knew exactly what to do and cleared the line in about 30 minutes.

I called this company a week ago because our heater stopped running and I needed it working.

When the tech arrived, He diagnosed the issue and found a couple of loose pipes and vents, He put them back together and installed a new generator as well. I will definitely recommend them to my friends.

I had an original AC and heating in my house, so I had NO experience in dealing with heating and air conditioning company. The technician came and clarified everything, and I chose to go with the American Way. Every time I had an inquiry (I had a couple), the technicians were so knowledgeable and pleasant.

They explained how they were going to fix that problem step by step. They worked hard to accomplish the task. I would highly recommend their services. Example of true excellence. Additionally, played it safe - wore masks, remained 6 ft. away.

We had a pipe split in our basement. Found these guys on my google map and haven't looked back. He came relatively on time, fixed the pipe and gave us some tips on another issue we have. We would absolutely use again.

Our furnace would not light. First cold day. We went on the neighborhood chat group and were recommended to American Way. I phoned them at 7:45am and a real person picked up on the first ring. I was told the technician would come between 11-2. The two-man team phoned me at 9:30, arrived at 9:45, had the furnace lit in under 5 minutes. Adam had me crouched down in front of the ignition assembly as he explained the situation. He demonstrated how to deal with a reoccurrence and explained what parts should be replaced (the furnace is 25-30 yrs old). No nonsense, reasonable charges. Needless to say I asked them for a sticker to put on my unit.

He solved two tricky problems. A slow draining bathtub that I was unable to snake myself, he determined that the snake was going the wrong direction, perhaps due to an incorrectly orientated fitting. And he was able to clear the blockage with some finesse. He also replaced a cartridge in the shower and fixed the unorthodox work from the contractor who remodeled the bathroom. The price was also great both relative to the time he spent and compared with the last plumber I used.

Great service and honest work. They did a great job with our trench less plumbing when our sewer line needed to be fixed. We had another quote from a different company and it cost more than double and that was without the other company re-pouring the concrete. Highly recommend and the employees were very polite and hardworking as well. Thank you!

Had a weird issue with the boiler that the staff couldn't get fixed so the owner showed up and took care of it. Totally happy with the service.

Never wrote a review before but felt compelled to write one for this great company. Highly recommend! Adam who answered the phone was very responsive - had a technician (Mo) at our home in an hour...we called at 8 pm! Mo was very skilled, thorough (took time to talk through the situation - twice) and spotlessly cleaned up after all the work was done. Highly recommend!

Prompt, professional, skilled and courteous. He fixed our kitchen sink drain, a repair that we'd had two other people fix but that kept leaking and backing up. The repair required cutting into our walls (old house, don't ask), and the last plumber who did that left a huge mess. He left the floors cleaner than when he started. They came out same day to fix a leaky sink and blocked pipe. They were just amazing. They were happy, professional, informative, polite, respectful and efficient. They are now my go to plumbers. One decision I won't have to make in the future!!!

The person that answered the phone was not supportive. I explained my situation to him and he asked my location. I live within walking distance of the business. He asked about the building them. I stated it was an apartment complex. He than asked how many apartments. I disclosed the amount and he states he does not do apartments. This information could have been placed on the website as well as the hours of operation. Because after 5pm it is classified as not normal hours. So the rate would increase.

Quick to schedule and repair ac. They are expensive but timing is key and they have come when needed more than once.

I've used American Way both commercial and residential Heating and air cond. They know what they are doing. Perfect installations and long- term, problem free systems. Nice guys, prompt response, dependable. I would not hesitate to recommend.

Horrible service!!! I called these guys to come fix my heater because it wasn't blowing heat and the guy comes and cleans something up and makes it work but then 2 weeks later it stopped working again. On another note, they had gave me 30 day warranty on the service if it was to stop working anytime and so I called again and they came back and they charged me the same amount again when they said it's covered in the first repair warranty. So i asked what are they charging me for and he's like oh i did this and that and I'm like i didn't even see you take anything up there so why are you making things up? He had no reply and then he said oh what if I lied to you and said I installed a new part just to take your money! Thats NOT good customer service if they are going to talk back like that. I also called the manager (who I made the appointment with) and he starts making up some other excuse just to take my money. I told him I wasn't going to pay him because he didn't let me know that he was changing another part, so therefore he said he will put it back the way it was and I said OK. And on the other hand, the manager is screaming at me on the phone saying don't ever call us for service. THATS NOT GOOD SERVICE AT ALL! If google had negative rating stars then thats what they deserve. Don't ever hire them because they are just full of lies to rob people.

Called because pilot light wouldn't stay on. Technician arrived on-time. I said to be careful with a wire that I knew was loose and he immediately yanked on it and broke it. Then said 'he couldn't fix it'. He never even tried to light the pilot light. This was all in the span of about 30 seconds.

I called the dispatcher and he agreed to waive the $75 service fee.

And then the guy started to get a bit scary. He was leering at me, and pretended not to know which door was out. And then hung around for a few seconds more starting at me. Facing into the room, while I was pointing at the door behind him. I was about to call 911.

These guys are phenomenal. They are highly qualified. We had our central AC repaired from this company. Their professional attitude and work ethic impressed me a lot. I would love to work with them again.

AWFUL! Do not use these people! They sent me someone who charged me $475 to fill up my unit with 6lbs of refrigerant. I later found out the 30lb tank is about $500. They charged me about the same for only 6 lbs. A COMPLETE RIP OFF!!!!! .

Seriously disappointed in the HVAC Technician's inability to troubleshoot and repair my air conditioner. They would only see one issue at a time and couldn't get to the root cause. Ultimately they quoted me $550 to replace a $42 part. Only giving two stars because they were quick to answer the phone and show up (although they will charge you for that--fix or not)!

Great service, fast and reliable. Their handyman arrived within an hour on a Friday night and fixed the problem in 30 minutes. These guys have earned my recommendation.

Didn't even try to work on scheduling a time. Just said too busy. I'd say you should not advertise yourself on the internet if you're fully booked to the point where you can't even have a conversation about about scheduling a time.

A 5 star service is what you would expect from them. Very honest and passionate about the job these guys do.
Had my AC stopped blowing cool air over the weekend. (Surprisingly) The phone was picked up, appointment scheduled and job done in no time.

Last year I used this company, and the technician was extremely honest and ethical, charging me exactly what one would expect for the very small job performed. Decided to use them again in Jersey City, and this time I was completely ripped off with a $325 charge to change a fuse and reverse the connection of two wires (something another vendor apparently connected incorrectly). The tech was there for all of 28 minutes.

Absolutely Horrible Experience- look elsewhere. The plumbers came to give us a quote for a leaking bathtub that had leaked to the floor below us. The price sounded unreasonably high so I said I was not interested in having them complete the job. I was not trying to haggle, I just knew I would get a cheaper price with a plumber I used in the past. Finally, they lowered the price to something I agreed to even though I still thought it was expensive. They fixed the issue of the leak going to the floor below however they did NOT fix the leak that was actually causing the issue!! When my husband questioned them they said oh, that needs a separate piece that was not included in the price, we could not believe it! So, my bathroom tub is still dripping water. Now, I need to have a new plumber come out and do that work and pay someone more. I feel completely taken advantage of- I would look elsewhere.

I called yesterday afternoon and got an appointment for the next morning, they arrived promptly and did a great job. They are very knowledgeable and efficient. I commend them for a job well done!
