Jeff was fast, thorough and had the answers to all our questions. This experience exceeded our expectations, and we were really impressed by Bonfe. It's a local company that has all the hallmarks of a much larger national company.
Our A/C decided to go on hiatus during the hottest days of July— so we called Bonfe. Jason was prompt and professional and was able to quickly/efficiently diagnose and fix the problem on our dinosaur unit. It can be intimidating as a woman to handle service calls, but Jason was absolutely wonderful and made me feel super comfortable. I would recommend Jason at Bonfe to anyone.
They were quick to reply late in the evening when our furnace went out. Mike, Erick and Alex were right on it and extremely professional yet very personable which set us at ease in awful and unfamiliar situation. From start to finish this was a great experience. Halid checked system on Wednesday and identified problems. When I expressed concern about an impeding trip he put an urgent on the order and a few hours later the new parts were on my doorstep. Receiving priority placement sent CJ out Thursday morning first thing. He explained replacement needs and got to work. Office checked in with me regularly ensuring things were getting done. By noon on Thursday repairs were complete and I am getting on the plane tomorrow morning. Thank you again Bonfes for totally professional and reliable service.
We’ve had 3 technicians for 2 separate furnace issues. All were friendly, professional, knowledgeable. We were able to get appointments in a timely manner. Also signed up for their yearly maintenance programs. I highly recommend them.

Ben did a wonderful job. I discovered a water leak from my fridge in the ceiling of my basement late on a Friday night, and I easily booked an appointment online on Saturday morning. He arrived just a couple hours after booking and fixed everything quickly. Coincidentally, my toilet also started malfunctioning that morning, and he was willing to fix that too even though it wasn’t originally scheduled. Super helpful, thank you!

The services provided were completed promptly and the recommended work was not pushed only offered and explained. I never feel pressured to complete a service with Bonfe but I always feel secure in the work they do. We bought an old house that needed love and Bonfe has been here to replace the furnace, AC, water heater, drain lines and intake lines (plumbing), and now this electrical work. I'm always happy with the quality of the services offered and the professionalism of the employees especially the folks doing the work.

the guys that came out wore the booties from downstairs through the house, and i saw them touching stuff with their gloves, like handrails and the wall. i have to disinfect upstairs as well as downstairs, EVERYTHING because i don’t know what they touched. i saw the first guy itch his face with the gloves hand that pulled the snake from my clogged pipes. then, at the end, i had to call for a copy of the invoice, and camera footage. it cost $2400 for the intensive cleaning, and they quoted $45k for the line repair. the whole time, it felt like dealing with someone that’s itching to make a sale. i just lost my job, and they said, “we have financing.” for someone without income? i underwrote loans for a while, and no income meant no loan. they keep bringing up the financing after i was clear i wouldn’t do that. it felt uneasy, and like high-pressure sales. my clog is gone though.

The technician who came to our house was kind and professional. I appreciate that. However... the quotes were insane for what we need. We do not need a professional grade water heater and the quote to repair our water heater was more than it would cost to replace the unit we currently have. I would pass on this company at least for residential service.
Bonfe was absolutely fantastic. Our hot water heater broke on a Saturday, and we used their text service...got a response right away, and they offered to come out on a Sunday! They confirmed with me how much the service visit was going to cost ($99 for the service visit, but then waived if we did get equipment from them), and were very up front about pricing...and even took care of coupons and gave us a military discount! Alan F. was very communicative, and kept us in the loop about how long it was going to take for the equipment to be delivered, and he installed it promptly and explained everything to us. He was a very positive guy, and the overall experience was great. They did awesome with taking away all of our old equipment, and were careful not to do anything to dirty up our carpets. Bonfe has a great tracking app that shows you where your technician is once they've been dispatched to you. And he hung out at our house until the equipment was dropped off, and he installed it right away! Their lifetime warranty is great, and their service plan is reasonable (and they'll even service equipment they didn't install). I would definitely recommend Bonfe, and we'll use them again if needed!

Jonathan Tripp at Bonfe provided exceptional quality and efficient service. The pricing was handled in a very reasonable and transparent fashion. The quality of services was also quite excellent. Jonathan was a very friendly professional who clearly explained my options and was realistic and reasonable with recommended repairs. Bravo.
Had a guy named James come out to fix our outdoor hose spigot, as the attached pipe froze and burst over the winter. This guy not only completed the job super quick- especially given the tight working conditions afforded by my old house- he also took the time to explain the different spigots he could attach, the discounts available via their membership (which costs like $11 a month and saved me about $120 on today's service), and showed me the burst pipe and how it worked to avoid leaks into the house in the event of such bursts.While I'm not a huge fan of the schedule an appointment for a specific day and we'll call you 30 minutes before we show up system Bonfe uses, there's no denying the quality of their work. Will be back when the next thing in our house inevitably breaks.

He was also open and honest, which I appreciate, and he didn’t do any pressure sales tactics, which I also appreciate. He even taught me things to look for, and how to best maintain my AC. I was having trouble with my new boiler. Spoke to Tanya this morning and she very helpful and patient. She asked me questions to verify the problems I was having. She was so nice and thorough. Tom came out to do an assessment on a smelly sink. Not only did he go through my whole plumbing setup under the sink and point out the issue, he followed it up by reviewing all the lines and related appliances in the house, which to me was going FAR above 'going above and beyond.' He answered so many questions I've had about the inner workings of my home, I thought this was extremely valuable info. All conversations and service options were delivered in a friendly, professional, and no-pressure way, another great experience working with Bonfe. 5 Stars Tom, great job!
Re-rating since I received a second opinion last week...Recently a Bonfe tech came out to my house to unclog my main line running to the sewer. I have used them previously for their same day $99 service, and it has worked out in the past. This time around the service was terrible. The technician seemingly fixed the issue, then tried to sell us on an $11k liner install that he claimed we needed.After Bonfe would not give us the video they recorded of our mainline free of charge, I paid for a separate company to give me a second opinion on the pipe (small shop, the guy had over 20 years of local expertise). They ran another camera down the mainline, and showed me how the bonfe tech had unclogged the drain temporarily, but didnt use the right blade ( bonfe used a 3in when they should have used a 6 in blade). This meant my main line was still full of roots, and was almost close to clogging up again after a week. I paid the second company to re-clear the drain and it was a night-and-day difference with the proper tool. The drain was completely cleared this time!On top of this, the second company re-showed me the crack originally mentioned by the Bonfe and ensured me that spending $11k to fix that right now was a bad idea, and it very likely wont cause issues as long as i keep an eye on it every few years.Bonfe - please ensure your techs have the proper equipment when coming to site. At the very least, please refund me my $99 drain clearing as it was completely ineffective.I've had decent service in the past, so I don't think this represents Bonfe as a whole, but hopefully that technician doesn't work for your company much longer !
Nick was absolutely fabulous. They had to string a new circuit through our entirely finished basement to the garage for our new electric vehicle charging station. Nick was very personable, kept us informed of everything he was doing, completed work on time and left everything spotless. For this particular visit, Jon came with Cole and helped fix our bathroom shower and replaced out kitchen faucet. They came before to help us identify the problem, back today to put the parts in (we had to order parts and wait for those to arrive). Has been very courteous and professional, explaining what’s wrong and how they’ve fixed things as they work on the project.Overall, BonFe has been helping us in many different areas (we had to get our sewer fixed this year, get new AC a couple years ago, and we get our furnace and AC tuned every year with their membership. Love their service!!! Although I hope I don’t have to call them for a while except for regular check ups for a while….

Haven't made a decision yet about replacing a leaky toilet, but Alan Farr was very pleasant and professional in explaining the various options and his recommendations. I especially appreciated how the office gave me an advance call with an ETA and then I got a text confirmation with Alan's name and photo. At every step they were respectful of my time, and that's really important to me.
Per my preference, got my central a/c running with the least amount of repairs possible and explained all aspects of their work.Jason and Brandon were a pleasure to work with.
BEWARE!! OVERPRICED AND INCONVENIENT. I called Bonfe to replace a couple of shut off valves in my home. The way they have set up their schedules maximizes their work efficiency but really makes it extremely inconvenient. I scheduled a Saturday appointment (they work 7 days a week so there are no extra charges for the weekends) online and sent in a picture of what I needed done and the type of valve that needed to be replaced. The system doesn't give you a time or a block of time except that the technician can arrive anytime during their work hours which is 7a-10p. I hadn't received an update around noon that day so called and spoke to the operator. They said they still had me on the schedule but couldn't tell me where I was on the list. Eventually by 7:30p, someone called me and said the technician will be there within 30 mins. The technician was very professional but gave me a quote that was 3X higher than another quote I received to do the same exact job. Crazy! They charged me for the $99 service call fee and left. Unless you are desperate to get something done, I would suggest you shop around and consider this as a last option.

Great experience with all the service tech and installation. Just very disappointed with the quality of the furnace that was installed that was rated top of the line. Wasn’t really able to duplicate problem when tech came out. Hate to think I’m going to have to listen to the annoying bang almost every time the furnace starts up.
DO MOT USE!! I called to have a water heater replaced, and your typical water heater cost between 1500 and $2000 for a 50 gallon tank. They charge $99 to come out. I asked to speak to a tech ahead of time to give me an idea of what it would cost to replace the water heater. They were very rude and told me there was no technician to talk to you but I was in a crisis and they said they could install it the next morning. The guy came out looked at my tank for two minutes wrote up a $5000 bid and told me it would only be $4600 if I signed up for the monthly service charge of $11 a month. I told him I didn’t even pay that for my furnace and the guy goes I know it’s really expensive. I said I’m 62 years old I don’t need a lifetime warranty. He said yes I know. I also said we called you so that you could install it today he said oh sorry we can’t. I then paid my $99 and got a bill in the mail a week later. I spoke to the rudest woman ever and she told me my visa failed even though the guy is the one that took my visa number. My face I didn’t fail he failed. I told her that you didn’t do what you told me you could do and the only reason I had to come out is because we were going to install it that day. She could not have been more unprofessional and she told me I still over $99. I will absolutely not pay this money. I had one installed professionally by a really reputable company the next day for $1500. They think their service is so much better than everybody else’s please don’t be scammed What I know this is a Saint Thomas Academy family that owns us and I would like to speak to an owner because I’m guessing I would get somewhere with him but the rude woman that answered the phone is the representative. Despite having maintenance plans with Center Point Energy we browsed the internet to try it first time with Bonfe just because of the fact that they gave earlier appointment dates in comparison to CPE.We were quite amazed not only with the promptness of the technicians - Nate Coppock (for Electrical outlets maintenance) & Andrew Granquist (for Furnace & Humidifier maintenance) - who not only arrived on time but were so efficient in their work. Both seemed to have proficient knowledge in their respective domain of work and not only did they get to their work in action but also shared their knowledge with us in doing the right things to keep the appliances effective and also useful tips / hints for safer living.Very much impressed with work - me and my wife instantly have taken the decision to switch over to Bonfe's maintenance plan to start our new year ahead once the current contract with CPE is destined to get over in Jan 2023.Even before the technicians arrived we were also impressed by the reception provided by the sales team during our call - who took all our inputs patiently and due diligently followed it up from start to finish through constant follow up calls / messages.Thanks to Bonfe team for making it our day...

Five years ago we discovered root intrusion in our main line out to the city sewer. I called Bonfe to take a look and they said the issue was caused by an incorrectly installed/sealed fitting which they could remove and install/seal correctly. $4,000 and a dug up front yard later, the new fitting was in place.In the past year, we had another blockage so I called Bonfe. Once again, it's root intrusion and upon camera inspection we found it was the exact same issue 'they' previously fixed. The same flange of the same fitting exact. And by 'they' I mean, unbeknownst to me, Bonfe had a subcontractor do the work at our home.Afterwards, I called their offices repeatedly, trying to talk with a manager regarding my situation in the hope of finding an equitable path forward. That conversation has never happened and I would not recommend this company to anyone. Buyer beware.

Their so-called service plan is a complete scam. I caution you to read the small print and avoid signing up for it at all cost. After staying home from work today for a service call that took weeks to schedule, I was informed at 4:10 PM that a technician is on his way. I have to leave at 5 PM to be somewhere for a previous commitment. When I asked if I can just cancel my plan I got the small print runaround that I must continue to pay for several more months despite the fact that I am getting no benefits! WOW!! My advice is to stay away from these guys.

DO NOT let them sign you up for their monthly service program!!!! It is a year contract. They duped me out of $120. Service otherwise seemed good, but prices were high. Quoted $22k for new furnace and AC. Was able to have identical units installed for $14k elsewhere, and they included free yearly maintenance because I was a veteran.
My experience with Bonfe was great. I called and talked to Sharon G who listened to my questions and set me up with an appointment the next day. I needed an expert opinion on the state of my water softener. The technician Bennett Brown was professional and knowledgeable about water quality and explained to me all the options. I decided to have a new one installed, and he was able to do that right then and there. I decided to sign up for their service plan and Bennett is assigned to be my technician going forward. I am really glad I called Bonfe!

Staff was very nice and on time, but many issues along the way. The installation date was scheduled with notification. The initial unit was almost changed day off and had a huge delay trying to figure out how to proceed. Came up with different scenarios of what unit to install and how to install and after all that, went back to original plan. Financing was not communicated at all and had to deal with another company that was not connecting with merchant. Days after installation received an email saying they would proceed with court procedures if not resolved within 2 days. This was the biggest issue, and such a drastic email should not have been sent to a customer when they have tried to resolve multiple times sitting on hold. Could have been a good experience, but the details made it not, very disappointed in the customer service.

We had to get our water heater replaced, and while the people from the company were extremely kind and professional, they charged us almost $4,000. They didn’t have any options of different water heaters to make this service cheaper. To receive a discount on the service, we had to sign up for a yearly membership. Even with the membership, and a coupon we had for $250 off, we still paid $3750 for the installation and removal for the old system. That’s about $1,200 more than the national average for water heater installation. I personally feel like we were extremely taken advantage of and price gouged for this service, because no pricing was given to us, not even an estimation, until the employee was already in our house (which was around $100) and we would have to pay him for his trip regardless. Then we were blindsided with this price. I just am so upset about the lack of communication and options we had, and the money we quite literally flushed down the drain.

Roman and Nathan did a great job of installing/creating 3 zones of heating and cooling into our home where we previously had only 1. After complaining about how hot our bedroom got in summer and how cold the family room would get in winter for 22 years we finally did something about it. We appreciated that in addition to performing the installation of the new venting, controls and additional thermostats that they took care of hooking each thermostat into the wifi, gave advice on new thermostat placement, tested each combination of zones, and also took the time to explain to us how the system worked and changes we could make if needed. The new system works great.

With the former owners of our house fancying themselves as handyman, we have often had repair work done that has to correct what they did and then address the repair we've requested. Scott did a great job with our electrical work. We had a bathroom fan that needed to be replaced and he took the time to explain how he would do the work. A Bonfe plumber came to my house and estimated a new sink installation, with new faucet and garbage disposal. Counter top already cut and prepared for sink. Also to estimate 3 new shutoff valves in one bathroom, replacing old valves. The estimate was over $3,400.00. I had two other estimates come in between $400 and $500. Of which I chose one and paid the $99 visit charge from Bonfe. Please be careful with this company. They will try to rip you off.

Bonfe did a annual inspection of my HVAC and found the filter was dirty. They took the filter out but never replaced it when there was one sitting right next to the furnace. I also felt like they kept trying to upsell me a new system when the system is perfectly fine. I canceled their monthly service program.

Steve the technician was great. On time. Positive attitude and seemed to take care. On time. The reason for lower than 5 stars was two things. First, I was told they would come Saturday. Informed at dinnertime would be late eve or nothing. Stayed home all day. Offered Monday which required taking day off work.Leak was still there after he left, but to his credit was not noticeable for couple hours and we both thought issue was resolved. I did have to haggle a bit with company to get tech back out same day as couldnt take another day off. Steve drove all the way back, readily acknowledged issue and addressed it again very pleasant attitude which to me is a big deal. I would give Bonfe another try in future and would recommend Steve.

We had a very good experience. Jazmin helped us get set up with an appointment very easily. The day of our service I received multiple calls from Shanna with updates on the timing of our appointment. Kyle and an apprentice technician completed the drain clearing very efficiently and answered all questions.

Nathan did my annual furnace inspection. He arrived promptly on time, was courteous & respectful, and explained in detail what was inspected & what the results were. I’ve used Bonfe for several years, starting when my old furnace needed repair. I was pleased enough with them then that when the time came to replace that old furnace, it was a no-brainer to choose Bonfe.
I called Bonfe for a leaky pipe on NYE because they're local and were open. Plumber came out, did a very basic inspection, totally blew me off when I said I thought it involved the toilet that had stopped filling. He suggested it was melting ice - only confirmed it was a leak because I suggested we see if the water meter stopped when he turned off the right valve. He insisted I needed $10,000 of work to move all my basement pipes. Signed me up for some service plan that would save me so much money, which I apparently still am paying for even though I cancelled everything immediately after he left and I had thought about it for 2 minutes. It was a hard sell, which is disgusting for a plumber. Leak turned out to be a simple joint. Behind the toilet. Where he declined to look. Charged me $89 for 20 minutes with a plumber who didn't even bring his own wrench, he had to borrow mine to close the valve 🙄 Most of that time was spent on the hard sell. And now I have to deal with ending this scam service plan. I feel like they completely tried to take advantage of me as a female homeowner - screw you, Bonfe. You should be ashamed of this type of service. Anyone needing service - look anywhere else!

I had my annual A/C checkup today. Bonfe sent me a young woman named Tillie who arrived on time, did a thorough check of my A/C , washed the condenser coil and replaced my very dirty filter. I'm glad to see smart, confident women working in this traditional male role. She was very personable and I hope to see her again and wish her the best of luck in her new career.

Had Bonfe out for my furnace tune up today. They were on time, got right to work, and clearly explained the repairs needed in my unit. They were able to quickly swap out the parts and make the needed repairs. The technicians were friendly, clearly explained what they were seeing in my unit, and explained the maintenance I would likely need in the near future (my unit is over 10 years old) and what that process would look like.
I called these guys to see how much it would cost to hang a chandelier and they said they'd have to come out to tell me even though I gave them the measurements for the room. No mention of a fee for this. Someone came out and first he insisted on explaining their Bonfe plan that you pay monthly and I said not interested, then he wanted to look at our electrical pan which was just inspected, then he explained more about how we should get the monthly plan and I refused, then finally was told the cost to hang a chandelier ($1500) which I refused because that's insane, and I was charged $100 for him just to come out and waste my time which there was no mention of ahead of time! I got the McQuillin Brothers and they charged less than a third of what Bonfe thought it costs. Bonfe is a scam and don't use them unless you like getting ripped off!!Edit: They replied saying they're fully stocked but they wouldn't been able to hang the chandelier because Bonfe told me (even though i gave them the room measurements) they'd need to get the ladder and come another day if I used them.

Brandon showed up on time, worked efficiently and answered all our questions. He recommended an air purification system to eliminate all the air filters that we had in every room of the house. The cost savings on the stand-alone air filters alone will pay for the system in about 2 years. Brandon was also able to install a new thermostat for us as well to save energy. It is comforting to know we can rely on Bonfe to have our best interests at heart. They give you information without pressure to let you decide. They explain various options to let you decide. And, those options are not just all very expensive ones.

Bonfe does regular maintenance checks for us. Call with a water seepage issue. They were on time, courteous and quickly diagnosed the problem.

Called on Friday mid afternoon. Call center took nearly 5 minutes to answer. Setup service call. Dispatch called an hour later. Said fine for Tuesday and someone would call Sunday or early Tuesday to confirm time. They called at 10:30am on Tuesday and said they had no definite time but would give us a 30 minute heads up. I asked how late, they said could be 6pm or 7pm. But we should feel free to run any errands or anything. Canceled as I would like to get on with my day and plan accordingly. This is very poor service, people need more then a 30 minute heads up. No time window or anything. Next!

We recently got a quote from bonfe to install a water heater and plumb our disposal for $2950. We got a quote from a competitor the next day for $1500. The bonfe technician said it would be extra expensive because we were not up to code which we later found out is not true. Beware of them trying to upsell you and over charge for service.

Right off the bat, I want to say that every employee I dealt with was great. The service technicians and office staff I interacted with - all professional and friendly. My problems with this company stem from the business level.(1) Inflated Prices: Paid just over a grand to replace 18 inches of pipe and a ball valve. Had an active leak, so I couldn't exactly shop around while my basement flooded. Did some asking around after-the-fact, and it seems like I overpaid by about 20-30%.(2) No Appointment Time or Window: This was the case for my furnace tune-up. Most service companies will give you a 2 or 3 hour window. They wouldn't give me that or even an estimated time-of-day for arrival. You only get an ETA once the technician is actively on the way to your house.(3) No Warranty Without a Subscription: This was the worst and I wasn't told about it until after my furnace was installed. In order to retain your warranty, YOU MUST subscribe to their $11/month subscription service. Why not stand behind your products? Here's a list of things in my home that come with a 1-3 year warranty by default: water softener, television, fridge, washer, dryer, lawn mower...you get the idea. They throw in some token benefits for your monthly cost, the most touted of which is a once a year tune-up. But honestly, that just seems like an excuse to get a technician into your house to find stuff to fix that doesn't need to be fixed or sell you something you don't need.As one of the bigger service companies in the Twin Cities area, Bonfe is like a lot of big businesses: friendly on a human level, but grimy and corporate on corporate level.

I told them I worked and wouldn't be home til 6. They said no problem. So I set an appointment. They called me all day to confirm they were coming at 6. Then at 4:45 they called and said they will be there in 30 minutes. I called back and said I won't be home til 6. They said sorry we don't work that late. They wouldn't come out til I was able to be home earlier which was 5 days. So VERY Unreliable!!!

We were experiencing some issues with our hot water boiler system and a low pressure error. Jason M was extremely knowledgeable and knew almost instantly what the problem was and the resolution to fix it. I called Bonfe on Tuesday morning to get my kitchen drain/sewer unplugged. They didn’t have any appointments times until Thursday.So Tyreese J. put me on a “will call” list. At 5:30 pm Adam was at our door and jetted our kitchen drain all the way to the main sewer. We can use our sink again.Both men were very helpful and courteous. Adam was very careful not to make a mess and cleaned up the area before leaving.We are very happy with Bonfe.
Customer service is top-notch. They are very responsive and helpful when calling them. It is very hectic when preparing a home to put on the market for sale, and Bonfe delivered by providing quality services in a timely fashion. AMAZING!! They are just amazing!! First, when our electric meter melted, they had the box replaced within 24 hours.Then when our furnace went blower died they were here the same day we called! The service guy was super upfront about the age of our furnace and AC and how replacing the blower probably wasn't the best idea. We went with the top of the line package for a replacement, but the dude wasn't pushy at ALL. He triple checked it was what we wanted. Then they gave us big room/window AC units to hold us over from a Saturday to Tuesday when they could replace our system for FREE. Both units were replaced, no mess was left, we didn't have to be home watching them, and THEY FOUND OUR TORTOISE! (tortoise has hid the night before and we couldn't find him before leaving for work). If I could give this company 10 out of 5 stars I would!

These guys are super prompt and very knowledgeable / easy to work with. However, the price they quoted to replace a water heater was more than double (roughly 2.5x) the going rate I found from calling 4 other plumbers. The justification was a lifetime warranty (as long as we're in the home - to replace up to 3 times). So good if it's an emergency or if you're young and never plan to move, but outside of that, I'd recommend calling around to the small business types.

Old furnace died, we were given some options and decided the best option would be to replace it completely. We utilize the monthly membership, Bonfe Basics. This includes a 40 point furnace inspection as well as a yearly inspection of your choice (plumbing/electrical). We scheduled this in advance and they cancelled due to other priority customers and this had been scheduled in advance for three weeks (initially the cs agent I spoke to in scheduling was outstanding and made it more convenient to schedule both inspections the same day). They also then cancelled our 40 point furnace inspection the same day because we did not respond after their 3rd confirmation message of the day (2 of calls and 1 of text); we failed to reply after the 17 minute text due to a work meeting. Feedback for their CS mgr would be to implement texting service. They are inconsistent with their constant phone calls but then follow up with text message. Please consider sending text message for all communication as I know many are WFH and to have to answer the continued calls on updates for your tech's visit is quite inconvenient for those of us on calls throughout the day. I understand this is generational; however I can attest to many millennials appreciating a texting service and a sure win for you to book more business. We plan to cancel our membership since we never did get what we paid for.

We hired Bonfe to replace our water heater and everything went seamlessly - from our initial assessment and quote (thanks, Jason!) - to the water heater installation and removal of old unit (thanks, Nate!) - to the additional plumbing work that was needed (thanks, Jonathan!). Everyone was professional, incredibly knowledgeable, trustworthy and efficient.
Bonfe did a great job of calling throughout the day with updates. When Brandon Countz showed up, he was professional, thorough and went the extra mile do do a little more than what was expected.
Knowledgeable and professional in every way. From calling to set up an appointment to meeting with the technician. We knew exactly when the technician would arrive using their tracker and the technician explained what issues we were having and gave us multiple options with pricing before he started working. I will recommend Bonfe to anyone that needs heating and air service. The customer service is by far the best I’ve seen from any company in a very long time.

Have had good experiences with the technicans, but had a horrible experience with their customer service agent, Noah. At our furnace inspection yesterday, the tech told us that we need a new furnace. Not something that we had noticed or planned but he said that things were starting fail and that as our furnace was 15 years old, it would be time to get a new one. So we purchased their best furnance - a nice price tag of $8600 with installation set a couple of weeks out so that I can be home during the installation.Wouldn't you know that as soon as the tech had tinkered with our furnace that day the furnance stopped working. Called for a tech to come out today and told agent, Noah, that I would not pay for the $99 service fee they were planning to attach for coming out, nor any additional parts if they found something had 'failed'. That I would be highly suspicious of a parts' fee on a furnace we had no issue with until after the tech left from our general inspection.Noah told me that if they needed to purchase parts that I would be billed. I reiterated that I was highly suspicious of being billed on a furnace that up until the tech left we had no issue with. He told me that he has seen this happen before and started rambling on and I told him he was not hearing me. He kept on talking - so I kept on talking. He was very rude, curt. I then told Noah that we were just going round in circles and could I speak with a manager. He told me that the manager wouldn't be in until Monday. I said that was fine and asked for the name. He gave me the name and started to reiterate his stance and I interrupted that with asking him what was the phone number I should use to call the manager, Mark D. He curtly said, the number you just dialed and I asked him to nonetheless repeat that number, which he rambled off quickly and started to say something else in his snotty interaction and I asked for his name at which point he said, My name is Noah, and I've provided you all of the information you need, you have a good day, ma'am, and hung up.Noah is a represenative of Bonfe and he represents that culture in which they are allowed to speak to customers in an unprofessional an disrespectful manner and lacks the ability to display empathy, as well as understanding and a desire to assist customers in difficult situations. He was more interested in arguing with me than helping me.Because of this interaction, we are looking for a different company to take care of the new furnace we now need - especially since we no longer have heat. Bonfe apparently has enough money to be able to lose our business so I'd rather find a company that respects its customers and finds ways to resolve or at least investigate options to better assist their customers. A resolution I would have found to be agreeable would have been to tell me that they would get the furnace running again and take care of the cost to make that happen as a temporary fix until the installation of our furnace had occured. Not only would it be exceptional customer service but it would have restored my faith that the company wasn't trying to drain more money out of me, especially since the cooincidence of it no longer working had raised some serious company integrity issues in my mind.The tech that came to look at our furnace today had forwarded my complaint to an on-call manager. The on-call manager called to apologize for the interaction and said they would forward this onto his manager to provide Noah with further training. I would agree that would be advisable so no one else encounters this representative. I, for one, would look forward to never encountering his brand of customer service again. But the damage is done. Nothing that on-call manager said to me restored faith nor made me feel better about my experience or opinion about the company.

Last year Bonfe replaced our air exchanger and installed a fan. We signed up for the service plan. James did a plumbing inspection for us. I recently had a terrible experience with Bonfe that left me extremely frustrated and disappointed. My kitchen sink pipes started leaking, and it was an urgent situation that required immediate attention. Unfortunately, due to the long weekend of 4th July, none of the people I knew were available to help.Upon a friend's recommendation, I contacted Bonfe, as they claimed to provide service within 24 hours. I made the call on Saturday, and they informed me that someone would come on Monday. Desperate for assistance, I reluctantly agreed to the delay since there seemed to be no other options available.On Monday morning, I received an automated call from Bonfe's system, assuring me that the plumber would arrive at any time that day. This gave me hope that my problem would finally be resolved. However, my hopes were quickly shattered when Katie, a representative from Bonfe, called to inform me that their plumber was no longer available that day.What infuriated me the most was the fact that Bonfe had made promises to fix this critical and urgent issue, yet failed to communicate effectively or keep their commitments. With the 4th of July falling on a Tuesday, Katie informed me that the plumber could only come on Wednesday. This left me stranded with a leaking sink and no resolution in sight.The lack of professionalism and disregard for their customers' emergencies displayed by Bonfe is unacceptable. As a service provider, they should understand the importance of effective communication, especially in urgent situations. Instead, they failed miserably, leaving me in a state of frustration and disappointment.I cannot recommend Bonfe based on my experience. If you are in need of prompt and reliable service, I suggest looking elsewhere. Bonfe's inability to handle a critical situation and their failure to fulfill their promises make them an unreliable choice for any plumbing needs.

I'm signed up for their monthly service plan and they have not been able to timely provide their annual AC and Furnace inspections. The inspections, which I was told would be performed at the beginning of heating and cooling seasons (AC - April to June, Heating October to November), have both been delayed for 2+ months. They eventually did perform the AC inspection, but now they have delayed my furnace inspection as well. I asked for a refund since they did not provide the service as planned but they denied my request.

I was slow at scheduling an annual checkup of my furnace, so it could be done the next day or in March. The next day worked good for me, and by noon my repairman was down in the cellar to check things out, then report that the humidifier needed a replacement part. This was available in his van and all work completed within an hour. Wonderful service!
BEN couldn't have BEN better. He not only deserves ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for the requirements of Bonfe, he covered all the bases a customer wants.. A significant amount of 💰 was required for his skills. The cost wasn't painless, but he made the process of actually being in my home doing what needed to done painless. I would ask for him if I needed to call Bonfe again for plumbing problems. Very competent and hard working technicians solved issues and communicated very well about what the issues were and how they could be addressed. There was no pressure to purchase services/equipment.
We had our semi-annual HVAC Tune-Up today and I can't say enough about how amazing Bonfe is and especially the Technician Michael Benson. Super thorough, explained everything in a way I could understand it. Bonfe has the best of the best representing them. We always have a great experience with whomever we interact with. Bonfe has been so professional and responsive. Nathan S. did a wonderful job explaining and showing us the test results and went over all the potential next steps. He was able to fix the parts that needed maintenance at the same visit as our tune up which was super convenient. He had great advice for future tune ups.
I was supposed to receive a call from a manager to discuss my 2 cancelled appointments. That call never came.Updates: They claim to have called me, and have a record of it. My cell phone history has no record of the call, and neither does the cell phone bill for that time period which tracks all inbound and outbound calls.In response to owner saying high temps in June caused my appt to be cancelled, day of. The 1st appt they cancelled, day of, was May 19th. High that day was 61 and the low was 44. Use this info however you see fit.

Emergency service call on a Sunday night at 8pm. Ac stopped working. Gene was here within the hour and identified the problem right away and was able to repair it. Total time from broken to fixed less than 2 hours. Amazing.

When we called Bonfe to schedule an appointment they told us they will diagnose the problem for $100. They said they would arrive on a Monday. We waited all day on Monday with their policy of they can show up until 10 pm with a 30 minute heads up. They did not show up until 7:30 at night. To really solve the problem means they had to cut a hole in the wall but of course that is extra. $380 later they could identify the issue but not fix it that day since they arrived so late. The technician said if we chose 7 am on Wednesday we would have an appointment time. No one arrived and when we called they stated they do not do appointments but rather we would have to again wait all day for someone to arrive. We went with a different company. This company saved us hundreds of dollars and bonfe was not honest and was going to replace more than what needed to be done. Would never suggest or recommend this company.

I am beyond impressed with Bonfe and the technician that came out, Trace Smith. The service was same day to inspect and fix my AC. I got a call informing me the tech was on the way. After the call I got a text allowing me to track the technicians progress to my house as well as their picture and bio.Trace was super friendly and professional. He informed me of the benefits of the service program Bonfe offers. After inspecting the AC he gave several options. I felt absolutely zero pressure to make an immediate decision or choose the most expensive option.I ended up going ahead with the repair and signed up for the Bonfe service plan. Trace completed the repair quickly and kept us updated on the status.I highly recommend Bonfe! Trace Smith was amazing and I will be requesting him for my yearly checkups on my AC and Heating systems.

Have had nothing but good experience with Bonfe so far. Our latest project required us to replace our water softener. Marcia and Noah helped us on the phone to set our schedules. Dave and Cole were the techs that evaluated and replaced the unit and plumbing. They all made sure to accommodate our needs, down to adding an online coupon to our bill that didn't show up on their options, but I found on Bonfe's website. They also double-checked that the initial down payment for Dave's evaluation was deducted from our final bill as well. The softener has been working perfectly this last week and we couldn't be happier!Hope to continue to be able to do business with these guys in the future.

We had an unexpected leak develop between our water main and the meter, and discovered it on a Saturday morning. Bonfe as a whole, and ALL the staff we've worked with (particularly Alan the plumber and Tanya in the office) were not only friendly and professional, but also felt like the small-town people I grew up with rather than acting like a large metro business. They looked for ways to SAVE us money rather than ways to increase the work they could do. In the future, there is NO doubt that we would work directly with Bonfe.
CSR today: I generally have nothing but good things to say about Bonfe. I called today to set up my A/C system check (on a yearly preventative maintenance plan). I'm in the system and usually the CSR knows who I am and the address when I call in. So, when she verifies some of my information more than once I get a bit impatient and when she can't even spell my name correctly (my name is not dia) on the form she sends to ask for a review, well, I'll point it out as NOT a 5-star CSR experience. Bonfe policy: I wish they'd offer a more succinct appointment time. I booked an appointment for a date near the end of August (6 weeks out) as they don't schedule for AM or PM, etc... which holds my calendar HOSTAGE for the entire day. Again, not a great customer service policy.
Terrible time with these guys. Tech named Greg showed up to work on a leaking gas valve on furnace. He first tried to sell the home service plan for the monthly payment in addition to an $1100 dollar fee for fixing the furnace. After declining the home service plan he quoted $1400 for the repair. I asked for a breakdown of the parts and service price and he told me he’s not allowed to give me that information, and can’t tell me the part cost. Told me he wouldn’t advise me talking to any other contractors out there because of their “hidden fees”. Then insisted he had to charge $120 for the visit because I declined his service, even though he never opened up the furnace.Ordered the part I needed online for $150 and paid a private contractor $250 for the repair, which was a 30 min job.Thanks a lot Greg!Stay away from these big companies if you can help it. Go with people your friends or neighbors recommend.

The technician Tyler Jackson and his colleague were exceptionally friendly and I really appreciated their help assessing the problem. They correctly diagnosed the issue with my AC and helped me plan a course forward.
Nick with Bonfe was fantastic. He went over my options, explained each in detail, and replaced my electrical panel, rewired and labelled everything, and replaced all of my hard-wired smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detector. He was very professional, fast, efficient, and a nice person. I will definitely call him for any future repairs and you should too.

Our sump pump was not working correctly. We chose to call Bonfe because they are our go to repair team! Shanna was our contact person who kept us informed throughout the repair/replacement process. Our plumber was here within two hours and got the sump pump to work. We needed a total sump pump replacement system with back up battery sump pump due to how old our system was and the corrosion of the system. The parts for replacement was delivered the next morning and the new system was installed within 24 hours of the initial call. As a homeowner you can not ask for anything better than that. Professional attention through out the experience. Thank you Bonfe for taking care of us again!

Nathan was personable, professional and knowledgeable. My sewer drain was cleared and a future appointment made to determine costs of a liner to prevent backups. Based on my experience with Bonfe I will hire them for future projects versus their competitor.

We were having issues with our breakers constantly tripping, which caused us to lose power in different parts of our house. Our technician Nick was friendly, professional, and made the necessary repairs in a timely fashion. We will definitely use Bonfe’s services again in the future.

I was going to have them install a new air conditioner and water heater, but found out they were over charging big time. I canceled them. I did have my garbage disposal repaired. A 5 minute repair and because I canceled the other services they charged me almost $500. Do not go through them. They are a rip off. Go to Vadnais Plumming and Abear.

Company was pleasant to deal with on the phone and the technician was on time, professional and friendly. That's why I gave them one star instead of none. The the tech was on site for about 15 minutes and replaed a thermocouple in my water heater. It was an inexpensive part so the fee was for the labor and whatever else they charge for. That 15 min. cost me over $800. Do the math to see what I paid on an hourly rate. (over $3000/hour) I know they don't charge an hourly rate and I agreed to the charges ahead of time, my bad! This is the biggest rip off that has ever happened to me in my 80 years. I've never even heard of such ridiculous and exorbitant charges. Use this service at your own risk but I would certainly recommend against it. Last winter I had my blower motor and fan replaced in my furnace that took two visits and quite a bit of time, at a cheaper cost. They are seriously not worth it.
Bonfe was quick to respond to our broken water heater crisis late at night! Bonfe kept in constant communication and had Bennett to our house early the next morning. Bennet gave us all of our options and broke them down so we understood what exactly to expect. He installed our new water heater same day and was professional and helpful. I had a pipe burst that was connected to my boiler unit. A technician and trainee assessed the situation and quoted me $14,000 to fix the pipe ($7000) and recommended that I replace the water in my boiler with anti-freeze ($7000). They offer payment plans but I couldn't afford any of it. I wanted a second opinion so I paid the $99 call fee- THEY CHARGED ME TWICE. Having trouble getting ahold of someone at Bonfe to get my money back. Second opinion came out (certified plumber) and he told me the repair should cost hundreds not thousands of dollars. Will be using them instead.Bonfe technicians were courteous and friendly however they are very sales driven. This isn't the kind of company I can afford to do business with.

There was something wrong with a switch which connects to stove range. I tried to contact many other service providers but Bonfe is the first who gave a quick appointment and they were able to resolve the issue in like 30 minutes. Other service providers gave me 1 week wait time but Bonfe came to my home the next day and resolved all the issues. I recommend Bonfe for their ontime service, highly skilled and knowledgeable technician, outstanding service. I will recommend Bonfe to all my friends. Keep up the good work Bonfe.

I was calling to get a quote for central air. I own a duplex and was immediately told they won’t provide me service. The phone rep was not interested in what I had to say. My duplex has separate heaters, separate water tanks, separate utilities, separate HVAC and I was not able to explain that over her interruption. A calm and polite explanation would have saved them from a 1 star review. I was ready to spend $5k-$6k but I will not be doing business with Bonfe. I have hired a new company who was willing to Listen to me. And they will be arriving on the 3rd of September to install. It was funny the phone rep answered by asking ‘how can I provide 5 star service today’ looks like they can’t. Either they need to train their employees better or have someone answer the phone who has an ideas about houses and not just how to schedule an appointment and be condescending.

Our plumbing backed up which made our bathrooms unusable. This became an emergency situation in our household. We wanted to stick with a local company so we called Bonfe. Korlene took our call and was very helpful. She was very quick to help and answer all our questions. She found us an appointment for same day. Brenton was our service technician. He was very professional yet personable. I really appreciated that he took the time to listen to our concerns and really assess the problem before starting. I don't feel that he tried to push unnecessary procedures on us but did his best to find the most cost-effective way to solve our issues. He was very knowledgeable and descriptive in the way that he explained his procedures and why they were needed. From the call center to the tech we are very happy with customer service and the end product. Bonfe will be top of our call list for any of our home needs. Please, never consider getting their service plan. The services that are included in the plan will never actually be done. I have had two different appointments as part of my prepaid service plan. Both have been cancelled day of under the auspices of me not being an emergency. They told me they are required by law to cancel me for others deemed more important. My AC tune-up, which is the main reason I paid for the plan, is now not available until late July. Almost two months after my original appointment that they cancelled. What good is a tune-up 2 months after it's needed? If you have the plan, the bad news is you have already paid them and they will always cancel your appointment and give it to someone that will be charged new money. Huge mistake on my part, and they have refused to cancel and refund my service plan that is seemingly impossible to use. Also can’t speak to a manager when they cancel my appointment. Imagine caring so little about a customer.

I’m super impressed with Bonfe on the install of my furnace. The service guy Altin diagnosed my furnace not working very quickly due to rotted secondary heat exchanger on my 20 year old furnace. He answered all my curious questions, highly recommended that I need a new furnace and gave me a fair quote on a new one with lots of discounts. He even gave me some free advice of some other updates I was wanting to do to my hvac system. In only 6 hours after placing my initial call with Bonfe in the morning, my new furnace was installed with 3 tech guys working on it! So glad we didn’t have to spend a cold night without the furnace. Text eta tech arrival updates were cool too.
I requested Bonfe to come out and look at our main drain in our basement since there is always water sitting there (little did I know that it is supposed to be like this) anyways, the technician arrives he was very nice, I did not have a problem with him, the reason I am leaving a bad review and 1star is because the technician was literally here for 5 minutes and they still charged me $99. I am a new homeowner, this is my first home. I was unaware that the main drain always has water sitting in it to prevent gases from coming back up into the home or whatever the reason is. I feel extremely taken advantage of. I tried calling Bonfe and talking to a customer service agent, she was no help. She said if the technician is unable to clean the drain we still have to charge the $99. I told her there was no work that needed to be done. The main drain was fine, I called you for no reason. Moral of this story/review, do your research first before calling Bonfe to have them come out and do nothing and still charge you $99. Very unprofessional and unethical on their part.

AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE!We had a drain back up and when I called and spoke to Tanya, she stated that they were running a special for $99 and that was for the first hour and anything after the technician would discuss.The technician was at my house for less than 15 minutes and it cost me $189. He never gave us a receipt and told my husband one would be emailed.Called and spoke to someone else after the fact and asked about a receipt and never gave me a solution and then she stated that she was sorry about the misinformation.When I told her that they would be getting a bad review, she just said “okay, oh well.”They took $99 from us because their people don’t know how to clearly communicate to customers. Lost my business for sure…

Booked an appointment for a Monday. They make you wait around until a call 30-minutes before they show. Their first appointments are at 7am. They had me waiting until 3:45pm and then called to say it wasn’t happening and could I reschedule…for the same scheduling nonsense. If you’re someone who stays at home with no real career or obligations, this might make sense. At this point you can’t trust them to be there when they tell you, so their word is no good.

Bonfe came out a fixed an electrical issue. They did a good job, but not an excellent rate. DO NOT OPT FOR THE MONTHY FEE SERVICE OPTION! The poor marks come from their inspection subscription. Between full schedules, cancelations and no shows I never received my inspections. They say it is on me to schedule the service, but I didn't know scheduling would be such a hassle. They schedule two months out, then don't show up, don't call, reschedule, again, and blame it on the weather.They will not even honor appointments they missed now that I've canceled the service. + In owners response below confirms this attitude. It is a money grab not a SERVICE. As you'd think after paying for a service it would be performed or refunded.

Tanya and crew were very prompt, professional in helping us with our AC unit.
Our pipe was leaking and within 15mins of requesting an appointment online, they were able to send out a technician within 30mins.Jordan came out on the first day, after assessing the problem, he gave a detailed explanation on what the problem was and ordered the parts. Next day, Rob came out and did the installation, unfortunately there was some difficulty with it. 3rd day, Tom came out and thoroughly explained the problem again and how he planned on fixing it. Tom was great - fast, efficient, and knowledgeable.Priced higher than expected but acceptable with it being convenient and the knowledge of the technicians.

This is one of the BEST companies I have ever worked with. They are responsive when requesting an appointment, they are on-time, the technicians are courteous and professional. Our furnace was not usable so they left us four space heaters. The new furnace was installed the next day. The technicians were all personable, thoughtful, and knowledgeable. Alan showed up on time to help replace dryer venting that was over 10+ years old. We are remodeling our laundry room and decided to stack our appliances. He answered my questions about placement and code and got to work. He asked about condensation in the past to ensure that he was using the correct venting for our situation. He went over pricing, answered more questions about plumbing to the washer, and was done in less than an hour. The work looks great, will allow for better venting, and will help us in the remodel. I've used Bonfe for nearly 15 years and have been very happy with the plumbing and HVAC work they've done.I'm adding to this review because I've spent so much time on the phone with Bonfe reps and technicians in the past few weeks, we're basically family at this point. Our furnace seems to have entered its teens, and it is surly. On Dec 1, Tristan came to do the annual tuneup and everything was fine. He heard pinging in the water heater, so he recommended that we call our plumber to drain the heater to eliminate the sediment buildup. That's the sign of a good technician when they tell you about a problem with a product that they didn't install. Two days later, the furnace stopped. Greg fiddled with it, resolved the problem, and went about his day. A week later, the furnace stopped again. Nick came out to check it out. He even went outside to see if maybe the condensation had frozen over the exhaust. Nope. He ordered a part that was delivered early today. Today, Nick arrived to install a part, and so far all is going according to plan.I'm so glad we bought the lifetime warranty for this product. As painful as it is to be without heat in Minnesota in December, Bonfe is always friendly, efficient, and there for us. Everybody we've talked to and worked with from Bonfe has given us 5-star service. They listen attentively, take great notes, and do great work. I don't know what's wrong with this furnace as it's only 6 years old, but Bonfe is always here to help us out.

Brian and Reece were amazing. Super friendly and helpful getting this four toilet install project done. Last year Brian was over to install a water heater and we got in a good food conversation. He told me about adding mayonnaise to tortillas before cooking tacos or quesadillas. Life changing suggestion. My kids love it and will never cook a tortilla another way. Derrick S came to fix my furnace and stayed to ensure the repair was working properly, even taking time to check that all the concealed vents were in the open position to ensure proper air flow. He suggested I have the motor fan cleaned and it has made a big difference by increasing air flow!
2 terrific plumbers came to diagnose why my kitchen faucet had low water pressure (it had been getting worse over many months) I already sent in a review for Tom M. This is about Rick Wyttenbach—a quieter man but very experienced and knowledgeable about plumbing issues. He and Tom worked together to solve the pressure problem. Then did a thorough assessment of my home faucets’ pressures, checked my basement pipes, and water heater. This was a delightful surprise. They patiently answered my questions. Great techs and both are an asset to Bonfe.
We recently paid to have additional work done after a suggestion was made during their bi-annual, maintenance program visit (POM). A month later, this two year old air conditioner (that they maintained) started having problems. I called a different company to take a look and they recommended the same thing that Bonfe recommended and had worked on for the extra cost. However, when the new company opened the air conditioner, it was still dirty inside and the pressure was reading very high. This company took much more time cleaning it, and all of the readings returned to normal (and our problem was resolved) We have not had trouble with the air conditioner since. I called bonfe to discuss and was promised a call back but never received one. We will not continue doing business with Bonfe, and I cannot recommend them.

My original review was 5 stars, as of today they are 1 star. Their customer service has deteriorated, they don't care about long term customers (it started well before the pandemic). They're more into taking your money for a monthly service plan and then making you wait 3 months for an appointment. Along with a 7 hour wait time window, then canceling at the last minute and telling you it'll be another 2-3 weeks. ANYONE CONSIDERING...RUN FAR AND WIDE, FIND ANOTHER COMPANY FOR YOUR NEEDS!

Recently I had Elijah from Bonfe out to inspect the furnace in my home. The strange noise was an indication the furnace was reaching the end of its life. Elijah got Jason out to discuss options the same morning, and that afternoon the team of Mitch and Zach were in to replace the furnace and thermostat. The whole thing got done the same day and the process didn’t even disturb my work day in the home office. Amazing, friendly, efficient work by all. Great coordination between teams.

Installation was done well and professionally. However, the temperature settings on the water heater were only set to 105 from the factory with the lower element set to a temperature lower than the uppermost element. Thus there was only the upper half of the tank with warm water. Installer said the factory setting should be 120.I set it higher (lower element higher than the upper element) without any indication what the temperature each thermostat was set to.He was apparently not allowed to set the water temperature and supposed to leave as set from the factory.We’ll see what the temperature of the water is in the morning.I don’t blame Bonfe, but those thermostats should have been set before leaving the factory.

We had a lot of water in our basement and our sump pump went out. The Bonfe receptionist was kind, clear, and understood the urgency. Within 3 hours of me making the call, Alan arrived at our house. He quickly assessed the situation, made recommendations, and fixed what was needed. He was kind, expert, and professional. We signed up for their regular service package as a result.Update: a few days later, Jordan came out to replace our sewage expulsion pump. He did great - expert, polite, efficient.

Very unhappy with the service Bonfe provided, they grossly overcharged my elderly widowed mother. I bought a garbage disposal as a gift for my mother and hired Bonfe to install this garbage disposal. I gave instructions to Bonfe that all install work for the disposal would be charged to me. My mother also wanted a new faucet in her bathroom and a replacement power outlet with USB installed for her kitchen, and that she would pay for that. I received a $750 charge from Bonfe thinking this was for the complete (plumbing and electrical) charge for the disposal. I thought this was on the high side, but acceptable. I was floored when my mother told me that she was presented a bill for $2110.00, plus another bill for the faucet install of ~$220! Also, she told me she ‘was encouraged’ and agreed to sign up for a $11 a month service, and that this $2110 was actually a discount! That without this monthly service her charge would have been $2610!! She, and I can’t overstate this enough, DOES NOT NEED THIS MONTHLY SERVICE! She already has a service to check her furnace and other home appliances. Also, she does NOT need a service for the electrical work done as, and this is what Bonfe has told me about why this charge was so much, she has a ‘lifetime warranty’ on the work done. So why in the world does she need a monthly service from Bonfe then?? Unfortunately, I wasn’t there for the install, but I think if I was she would not have been charged this outrageous fee for some simple and somewhat routine installation of a garbage disposal! I called McQuillan Brothers and asked what they would have charged for this and they said about ‘1/3rd’ what Bonfe charged. I asked a former home handy man contractor and he agreed the charge Bonfe charged was extremely high for the work done! Don’t go to Bonfe! They grossly overcharge for simple work. I see on Google ratings there this is a common complaint. Yelp Bonfe ratings were even less forgiving.

I'd like to give zero stars, but that is not an option.I called Bonfe with a question about an emergency plumbing repair early on a Saturday morning. I couldn't believe it when they said that they could get someone out that day. I asked them aloud three different times if they were 100% sure that they could get the technician to my house because if yes, I had to cancel another company who was already scheduled to help with my sewer line. They assured me that they would be there. I canceled the other company's tech.Lo and behold, at 1 pm, I got a call from Bonfe telling me that the tech couldn't come, and the earliest they could see me was Tuesday. Unfortunate news with sewage in my first floor and basement bathrooms and water raining from the ceiling. The person who called me was rude and said they had never promised me anything about coming that day.I would never call them again. What awful customer service. I've never experienced anything like it in my 20 years as a homeowner.

Technician completed work however he totally misrepresented the costs and benefits of a long term, annual checkup plan that he received commissions for. In short, he stated very clearly that the cost of my HVAC - which involved replacing a small plastic part (that Bonfe charged $349 for part only, in addition to labor) would be more than twice that amount (ie, close to $800) if I did not sign up for their free annual checkup plan. When I asked why Bonfe would give this away, he said that by doing annual checkups on HVAC that they essentially lock you in as customer and make money on all the future repairs. Made sense. Two years later I realized Bonfe has been taking monthly payments out of my credit card. I didn’t receive a single statement until after I had apparently cancelled the card I had paid my bill with that they were using to deduct payments from every month. To make it more frustrating, after calling customer service I was told it was my fault for not monitoring my credit card each month. They had no concern for my situation or the fact I never even received and services under this so-called plan. I also learned that the sales/technician had lied about my bill and future costs. IMO, having technicians sell maintenance plans in order to meet quotas and earn commission is a recipe for consumer fraud. Bonfe makes lots of money and has grown tremendously, but be careful not to assume this is a result of fair business practices. Rather, I’d suggest technician sales schemes like this are a big part of their success. Be aware!!

Very high prices in my opinion, quoted over $900 for two under sink shut off valve replacements (when I only needed one) and $1200 to replace an anode rod in the water heater. Did not use their services, can't afford that.

Alan came to do a quote for us. He communicated well with us throughout the process and was very knowledgeable and willing to answer all our questions. We elected not to proceed with replacing the water heater in question at this time. We did get other quotes that were thousands of dollars lower than Bonfe although Bonfe has longer periods where they manage and personally warranty the unit so it depends on how much insurance you want in that regard. I appreciated that Alan was willing to brainstorm multiple ways of approaching the issue and checked back in personally after the quote.

Update:Thought I would just look behind the dryer to see how they actually did and check the photo below to see what I found. I sure hope the electrical work we had done is better than this.Original:Be very careful with Bonfe. They canceled our appointments twice and made us return to the property a different day (costs us $80 each time we travel back).On our last call, we had a gas line installed for a dryer and the technician told us he could install our washer and dryer as well. Unfortunately we went for it and while it was hooked up just fine, they didn't actually level the washer and dryer. Didn't notice until after they left, so we called Bonfe to ask if they could come back out and level them. We were told that they don't install washer and dryers, they only hook them up. That's utterly ridicous for the amount of money you we paid.On top of that, we have one of their service plans that gets us 15% off of service. When we tried to cancel it, they told us that we'd have to pay back the 15% we saved on any of the service calls that we had under the contract. Unfortunately, that IS covered by their cancelation policy, so we'll have to keep paying for the remainder of the term.And be careful. They WILL try to have you get more things fixed. While this may seem like a kind thing to do, we don't feel it is always necessary. The only plus I can say about it is that when you say no, they let it drop and don't try to hard sell.Now, we do have to say that we feel the workmanship is great. We do like how they installed the gas line and how one of their electricians replaced our service panel and added new circuits.So, there are pluses, but there is no way we'll be using Bonfe services again. It's like a car dealership where you always fell you were taken advantage of when you leave.

I’ve been a customer at Bonfes for almost 20 years spanning across three different homes focus specifically on HVAC and plumbing. It was time for my seasonal check up on the AC system. Terrific service! I called in the morning about our faulty thermostat and a technician was out a few hours later to install a new one. In less than 30 minutes we were up and running again.

Our boiler was originally installed by Bonfe, but I made the mistake of hiring another company to do maintenance. Their tech came out and didn't even clean or do any sort of service work on the boiler but instead red tagged it because their was a minor co2 leak and said we had to buy a new boiler - even though it was only 10 years old and top quality Peerless. I called Bonfe explaining the situation and even though the unit was out of warranty they were concerned and sent their technician, Seth Thomson out within hours. Seth did what I originally wanted done which was to tune up and clean the boiler. He took apart the unit, cleaned it thoroughly and adjusted the gas levels and cleaned the sensors. When he put it back together and fired it up it was running perfectly with no co2 leaks and we will now have a more efficiently run boiler for the 2022/23 heating season.Seth was very personable, patient and polite. When he finished he even cleaned down the outside of the unit so it looked like new. Clearly, Seth took pride in his work and the ability to troubleshoot.I'd highly recommend Seth and Bonfe.

I feel like I got swindled. Our AC went out on a Saturday, and Bonfe was one of the only available companies that would come on the weekend, so we went with it. The tech found that he needed to install a new part, and recommended another new part to help keep the same thing from happening again. It was expensive but the part sounded like it would be expensive, so I went with it. Turns out the parts aren't expensive at all (I found both of them for about $100 combined) and we were charged $877. The company, of course, won't break down how much parts cost and how the total got that high. Oh, and he wrote some bogus name for the part on the invoice. High voltage storage device - that's not a real AC part.

Great service received from the technician, Jason. He was friendly, informative, and had foot coverings so as not to track in outside debris. He solved the issue, replaced the needed part after going over our options, and being upfront about the cost of those options; all completed in less than an hour.It's because of this great service that I understand why the cost was a couple hundred dollars over the average to do the given work. It's tough to put a price tag on being able to flush your toilet without having to wait 30 minutes for the bowl to refill.

First of all, this is the only reason I'm leaving a review: after speaking with the person answering phones to try to schedule an appointment, they told me it was their first day and asked if I'd be willing to fill out a simple 1 question survey to rate their performance. They were sweet so I said yes. The link they sent me was not to a performance survey, but was a link to fill out a Google review. This felt like such a cheap, scammy way to get Google reviews. I kind of doubt the person was even new - seems like just an easy way to trick people into leaving a positive review.Secondly, DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THEIR MONTHLY HOME MAINTENANCE PLAN. It's literally just a scam. They pressured me into it pretty aggressively and I signed up because I was anxious to get them out of my house, but it was a big mistake.Over the course of the year I have been trying to schedule the free tune up appointments that are supposed to be included with the plan- every time I called they told me they were booked out for several months. Even when I called months in advance to try to schedule an appointment way out in the future, they cancelled it day of saying they had more urgent clients to get to & that I could reschedule for 5 months from now. I understand that there are emergency clients that should obviously get priority, but this seems to be a pattern (other reviews confirm I am not the only person this is happening to). If this company is unable to perform the maintenance appointments that are advertised with your home maintenance plan, then they shouldn't be selling the plan at all.I also assumed that being a member of the plan would ensure me attentive service, which was also not true. At one point I contacted them about a repair for my HVAC unit and they told me they'd have a tech call me back. I never received a call back so I tried again- got the same response and again got no call back. Had to go to another company because they were just completely unresponsive.Their maintenance plan is a cheap way for them to lock you in with monthly payments & then provide absolutely nothing. I have zero faith in their integrity at this point, even if I was able to get an appointment scheduled I would not trust that they wouldn't create false problems to squeeze more money out of me. Stay away.

I would say overall, the technicians at Bonfe are highly professional and skilled. I have never been disappointed in the quality of work from Bonfe and we have been a member for approximately one year. Additionally, they provide a wide range of service and are highly available. However the availability and free routine maintenance on heating and cooling comes at a premium, the prices seem to be astronomical when compared to other companies. For example, we had a quote for an EV charger install that was $7500 when compared to another electrician who quotes us $3000. We also noticed that a recent plumbing fix was almost priced twice as much as quoted on the internet. Additionally if you are not vigilant about scheduling the free maintenance ahead of time, you will end up with an air conditioning check in the middle of summer. I am planning on cancelling my membership soon. I would consider careful consideration on the hidden costs before going forth with Bonfe.

Tom came in and went through our new home with a fine tooth comb. We wanted to know what the issues were in our home so we could address and fix so it would not be a surprise down the road. Good thing we did. The age of the home and all the things, the house inspector, before we bought, missed, ( like the sewer pipe held up with a bicycle tire and the one sewer pipe - sorry don't know the name - that should be installed vertically but the homeowner , who thought he could fix anything but really knew nothing,- installed it horizontally) we now are able to know and address on our timetable and pocketbook. He was knowledgeable, patient when explaining and kind. Usually technicians are so rushed, they are gone before you know they were here. This service was also complimentary on the plan we are on. Trust Bonfe. In my opinion they are the best. I will use no other.Update: Still using Bonfe. Today Andrew came out for electrical work. He was thorough with his assessment and work. He was also very personable. I'm not sure sure where Bonfe finds it's technicians, but A++!
It turned out that we didn’t need his skill set and he helped us schedule an appointment with someone from drain cleaning at Bonfes. He was very honest with us and provided piece of mind that the water pooling on basements floor wasn’t from our furnace or water heater. Still highly recommend Bonfes.

The process to make an appointment was frustrating. I was on hold for 15 minutes. The receptionist was very polite and gathered all my information. Only then did she warn me that there is an upfront charge for the visit which would be credited back if I use them. What blew the deal was she told me that I had to wait around all day long for the plumber to show up. No window of time. No respect for my time. A 30 minute notice it was all they could give me. It's asking a lot for a quote.

Bonfe has a service with low monthly payments ($11/mo) that provide annual heating and cooling maintenance inspiration along with discount on any labor for any job. Service person was friendly and knowledgeable. He answered all my questions including telling me that I probably could get a few more years out of my furnace. He didn't try a hard sell of a new furnace.

They are doing the job well, but they are really OVERPRICED. I had issue with my furnace about 10 days ago. It made a very loud noise. I suspected there was something wrong with the blower. So I called Bonfe, and their technician came about 3 hour later. He checked my furnace, and said that the bearing of the blower is about to break. He said it could break in two days or two hours. So, I asked him how much to fix it. He punched in something to this Tablet and came up with a number, $ 1,200 something. I asked can I have some discount, he responded it will be around $ 1,000 something if I agree to pay for maintenance fee for $11/month , can be cancelled after a year. Since it is -10 degrees outside, and I thought either the part is expensive or it will take hours to fix, I decided not to shop around and agreed with that. He said the part will be come in an hour. An hour later the part came, I called Bonfe. But the technician did not come until about 5pm. I was thinking I will not have the heat for several hours while he is working. To my surprise, it took only 20 minutes for him to replace the blower. So I am really puzzled why the quote is $ 1,200. I checked online, the part only cost abut $ 300. With a special express delivery , say $ 100 , it is only $ 400. So either they have $ 500 markup for the part or they have almost $ 400 / hour labor cost. I called bonfe to have the receipt with the breakdown , but the person on the other side just said “we don’t do breakdown receipt, it is bundle per job”. So I guess this Bonfe will not be the first one to call the next time I have issue with my HVAC.
Andrew Krinke came to my home to repair the dryer vent and to bring it up to code. He came with his coworkers Matthew Thompson and David Engstrom. They all quickly figured out what needed to be done and offered several solutions to me. I so appreciated having them in my home. Their work was so awesome and looks a thousand percent better than what we had. And now we are up to code!! Thank you so much.

I would highly recommend Bonfe. The scheduling team was really helpful in setting up our appointment and gave follow up calls so we'd know when to expect our technician to arrive. I also got a text alert with the technician's information and it was nice to know who to expect. Our drain technician was really nice and helpful. AC went out 4 years after installation. Had service plan. Called Bonfi. Within 4 hours service technician Trace S. showed up. Obviously knew what he was talking about. Diagnosed the issue within 5 minutes. Blown capacitor, was under warranty and repair it immediately. Had replacement part in the truck. Additionally checked Freon pressure which was high and cleaned off coils... Which lowered pressure back to normal. In an abundance of caution, inspected inside house and measured intake and outflow temperature at the unit. All was fixed and working perfectly.Even though I had the service plan (basic level). Was charged $99 service call. Little bit annoying, but I didn't buy the plus service plan.Overall very satisfied with quality of work, professionalism, communication, and getting it done.I have major trust issues with these types of companies, but Bonfe stepped up and made it happen quite well. Highly recommend.

Had a totally clogged French drain in a tuck under garage and it didn't seem like a snake would work against the sand and rocks and roots but Kong made it work and we couldn't be happier.
Tom showed up when promised and was able to correct the problem with my toilet tank. He explained the options for repair/replacement in a no nonsense way and never once did he try to upsell me or attempt any hard sell tactics. I appreciated his laid back manner; he was considerate and answered all of my dumb questions. My dogs loved him too. Bonfe has my business and they’ll be installing a new toilet for me.

It's been over a month now and not heard anything.UPDATE - 21 MAR 2023So two years after my negative review above (which I forgot about), I had a leaky radiator. Of everyone I contacted, Bonfe was the quickest among the various HVAC contractors that I called so I have to give them credit where due. Tristan and the team came out and did a great job and stayed very late to make sure there were no more leaks after replacing multiple valves around the house. They checked the entire system multiple times and I can't express my gratitude enough. Had some extra things get added since the system had to be drained anyways so it made sense. Price was not what I'd like it to be, however it's sometimes easier to stomach with the people performing the work do a great job as they did.I'm updating this review to 5 starts for the work the team did this week for which I'm grateful for their care and attention to detail. Not sure what happened two years ago, but just going to assume it was a one-off that can happen with most businesses.Thank you again for the long hours put in yesterday!

Nick did a wonderful job fixing the leaking pipe in our kitchen. The pipe runs under the slob floor in our kitchen. He found the leak- actually two of them. Fixed the one from the outside of our kitchen through the foundation and the second from the inside the cabinet with minimal invasion. He was knowledgeable very polite, respectful of our property just a delight to have him in our house. Everything went great the broken pipe wad replaced. Very reasonable price. We are very happy and for sure will use Bonfe in the future. Thank you.

The work was done well.What is troubling is the bait and switch on their subscription plan.Regardless of what the service provider tells you, you cannot cancel at any time. You are locked into a contract whether you use it or not for one year.This all stemmed from emergency service and some fast talking.When calling to talk to a manager, managers aren't available and won't get back to you for at least 2 days and you cannot have a line to them.The customer service experience about this contract is extremely irritating.
Had James and Jordan both at my house. Couldn't ask for a better experience. My wife wanted james( Ashton kutcher look alike) back to service us in the future. And jordan was amazing too. Super knowledgeable and a joy to have us at the home. Will definitely have bonfes back in the future

Our furnace went down on a Saturday morning. Sam arrived 5 hours after I called for help. The old furnace was not repairable. Bonfe had space heaters at our house within an hour, and a new furnace installed and running by Monday lunchtime. They use a tracking service so you can see exactly when their technicians are on their way and when they will arrive. All the technicians who came to our house were courteous and personable especially Zach and Allen. The office staff I dealt with, Hayley and Tanya, were pleasant to deal with and efficient in getting me the information and documents that I requested. I can't judge the economic value of the service Bonfe provided because I was not in a position to get alternative bids, but the quality of the service that was provided was excellent.
Jason Mielke and Spike from Bonfe did a detailed inspection in checking my gas, water pipes and water quality that is part of my Bonfe membership benefits. They found a small gas leak and promptly repaired it. Bonfe has professional employees and I was satisfied with their work. Thank you Jason and Spike!
Michael was professional but also friendly and explained things thoroughly. Plus we chatted about my dog, who reminded him of a dog he'd had who looked similar. I don't mind if a technician isn't a dog person, but it was fun to share stories about our goofy dogs!

Overall, I have been very satisfied with how helpful and professional the technicians have been but my problem mostly comes from the business end. Technician came out to address a frozen pipe. After running the pipe de-thawer for two additional sessions the technician discovered that the problem was the faucet. However, I was still charged for the additional time with the de-thawer. I just wish there was a little more discretion when it comes to diagnosing and eventually charging customers for the work that was actually needed. It could have been a great opportunity to provide additional customer service, now I may take my future business elsewhere.

My wife waited around all day with no running water, when they arrived they charged her $788.00 to clean out the main line. they scammed us.. the Tech was here less then a hour. Be very careful when using Bonfe for anything. Very disappointed. i thought Bonfe was better then this, BUT I guess not..

TLDR: Bonfe charged us nearly $9400 for a new furnace and water softener, and both broke immediately. They also offered a free year of their monthly subscription and began charging for that immediately, too.In late February our furnace went out right before some of the coldest days of Winter were supposed to happen. We called Bonfe and had them come out to see about fixing our furnace. They pushed a new furnace pretty hard, and it made sense. Our furnace was 21 years old and getting a new one was going to be more cost effective. We had also just moved in back in July of 2022 and the water softener had not been maintained by the previous owner. So we bit the bullet and shelled out nearly $9,400 for a new furnace and a new water softener.Fast forward a few days and the water softener had leaked through our our upstairs floor down into our coat closet and pantry on the first floor. To Bonfe's credit, they came out right away and fixed the problem no charge citing that a part had either been faulty to begin with, or had been tightened too much upon installation.Now this week, our furnace doesn't seem to be working in the same way our old furnace stopped working (it just doesn't turn on when it gets cold in the house). We'll be calling them about fixing this, but it's exceedingly frustrating when you pay $9400 for brand new appliances and something goes wrong with both of them within a month of installation. Bonfe also offered us a free year of their monthly subscription and began charging us immediately for that as well. Overall, it has been a very sour experience and we don't plan on using them again. I would not recommend them. Shop around for fair prices before going with the most convenient option.

I called Bonfe on a Sunday morning when our main drain backed up and flooded half our basement.They said they'd be out that day, and then called us later and pushed us to Monday. When they came on Monday, the technician wasn't able to do the job/clear the drain because he didn't have the right blade. (Who shows up with the wrong equipment?) So then he said we needed an intensive cleaning because it needed this special blade and said he couldn't fit us in until two days later, and we couldn't use the shower, bathroom, nothing. AND the cost of the intensive cleaning was $2K.The next day, desperate and running up to the grocery store to use their restroom, I called a local guy to see if he could fit us in. He could, came and cleared the drain, and it cost $200. I told him about the quote from Bonfe and he said the big-box plumbers do this all the time. Over charge for people who are in a bind, use smaller blades than the size of the pipe so tree roots grow back quicker and you have to call them back more frequently.So shady. Do not use them. Stay away.

I use Bonfe exclusively. You might be able to save a few bucks by pricing around every option, but Bonfe does it all and they are very responsive. It's worth it to me to have that peace of mind.

Had to get an AC unit last year. Install went smooth but I had to enroll in a yearly subscription to get the best deal for an AC loan. I was told this included 1 tune up for my furnace and AC. I did the furnace tune up and scheudled no problem.Fast forward a few months, I call to schedule an AC tune up in June. They don't have availability until the end of July. I scheduled for July 31st. Come July 5th, I get an invoice in my email for the yearly subscription. When I called to dispute and cancel as my first year was free, I was told I HAVE TO PAY THE MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION TO GET MY 2ND COMPLIMENTARY TUNE UP from buying an AC unit even though I scheduled within my year and they did not have availability until July.Awful business practice and I hope they read this and look to change something.

The monthly service plan is a joke. They are supposed to come out twice a year for tune ups but it’s tough to get an appointment. I booked in September for an early October tune up and was just informed they had “emergencies” pop up and need to reschedule for November 15th or later. It’s noon on the day of my appointment and I’m just getting this call to reschedule. The appointment windows are all day so you can’t make plans for the day and they can cancel last minute and push your appointment out over a month. Customer service has gone way down hill since Covid. Management has an attitude of not caring. Repairs are very costly. I purchased a new furnace through them but if I cancel the monthly maintenance plan which continue to have issues with scheduling, it loses the warranty. I would absolutely look elsewhere before committing to anything with Bonfe.

Horrible experience! They said they called- but they never showed. Called the company since this is my only day off for the next two weeks and the on call technician decided my limited schedule and leaking kitchen sink pipes didn’t warrant his time. This company should invest less in advertising and more in improving customer service than they certainly aren’t willing to provide. Unbelievable how poor these people treated me when I was very specific, needed a Sunday appointment but a lazy, elitist technician would rather get a bad review than do their job.
Jason was on time, was kind, and very respectful of the area. Asked questions when he had them and plugged away at the job until it was complete. He kept me in the loop when I had questions as well, which was very courteous. We had a lead drum trap replaced Bonfe was very quick in response with estimate and when Jason would be arriving.

Called Bonfe for backed up sewer late on a monday. Adam W. made it out Tuesday morning and made sure I fully understood my options before beginning. This is my second experience with Bonfe and both have been with employees who were professional, communcative, and did not cut corners. You pay for good work and you get it. As a side note, their service plan is actually a good value as it takes care of HVAC and plumbing work with some good options of preventative measures. I'm gonna be leaving another company's service plan for it.
Each and every contact was professional, with the individual very friendly, polite and responsive to our questions/expressed concerns. The service provider that did the installation and repair work were also quite respectful of our property and time.
Bonfe is the best! Jeff Feltner did an amazing job inspecting and maintaining our HVAC system as well as checking the water softener, gas lines and indoor and outdoor A/C unit. I appreciate his thoroughness and professionalism and he kept me informed through the entire appointment. As a result, I feel confident our HVAC system is running efficiently and safely.

Wow! From the initial phone call to the last man out everyone was 100% professional, courteous and kept me informed along the way. I felt this company to be extremely honest. There was some discussion on upselling me with some services and products but I never felt pressured. Kong X. went above and beyond what I paid for to make sure the problem I called about was solved. I would say this man is very dedicated to his job and satisfying the customer. Alan F. was also sent out for a follow-up visit and he gave no lessor credit to the company. I would be happy to have either one of these gentlemen back to my home in the future if needed. Bonfe be aware that it's employees like this that will make your company thrive. We've had Bonfe service our home for over two years now. Each time a tech comes out, we have a great experience. They're up front with cost and not pushy. We do our biannual tune up and it's worth the cost. They check everything and if they find something provide a solution that doesn't break the bank. (Trace was this years tech. On time, friendly and helpful)

The whole experience with Bonfe was great! Our A/C went out on a very hot day and Dan was able to come the same day we called to diagnose the issue. His explanations were very helpful. He had a part delivered and finished the installation by noon the next day! He also found a part in the furnace that needed to be replaced and did so at the same time.

This was our first time using Bonfe and I was very impressed. I scheduled online for Friday, they called in the morning and we’re very accurate for the tech arrival. When Joran arrived he was able to track down and repair our problem very quickly, he was professional and even put on booties to walk through our home. I’m very pleased with their service and will use them again. A + job.
I have used Bonfe for over 10 years and in 2 different homes. Each time I am more impressed with the level of service. I signed up for the annual service program and it’s been so easy to complete my AC and Heating Maintenance! J.C. was by far the most professional technician I’ve worked with. Super knowledgeable and willing to take the time to make sure I understood how my new (less than 2 yr old Bryant) worked. He also helped me set up my phone app which wasn’t completed at the time of installation (by another company). JC went above and beyond and he focused on me as the customer the entire time he was here. Thanks for the great service, I will continue to be a Bonfe customer!

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT GO WITH BONFEBonfe recently came out to my house to fix/ replace a water heater and the cost was just over 6k. Being a first time home buyer and not knowedable in the hvac areas, I thought this was the normal cost to complete this type of job but after the fact and speaking with other individuals, I came to find out that these jobs usually don't cost more thank 2k. They have competed other jobs at my house such as cleaning out a basement drain where the pricing for that job seemed reasonable which is why I trusted the prices the technician presented me to complete the install for the water heater. I followed up with Bonfe inquiring if an itemized receipt could be provided to see what the complete breakdown of the charges were but they could not provide an itemized receipt and stated they go by a 50-40-10 model.I feel completely taken advantage of and just sick to my stomach overall. The fact they cannot provide an itemized receipt is unethical in my opinion. I am also curious how many other individuals, such as, first time home buyers, elderly folk, or any others who are not knowledgeable about hvac jobs have been taken advantage of by Bonfe.I will be telling any family, friends, coworkers, etc, to never go with this company and have them cancel any maintenance subscriptions they currently have with them.

Bonfe was very responsive and sent someone out within 90 minutes of my call to assess why the temperature was dropping rapidly in our house. Our repair person was pleasant, spent some time learning our system, and then diagnosed a broken furnace igniter. A replacement part was delivered a couple of hours later and another repair person installed it by mid-afternoon. Responsive, professional and knowledgeable, I recommend Bonfe highly. Also, being able to track the repair person's progress toward my home is very helpful.
I received a free inspection of my main sewer line per limited time advertising piece the company mailed out. The inspection was done with expensive video equipment and a quote was given to me as well as a detailed account of how a liner would be installed should I opt to get one in the near future. I have a clay pipe line as most mid century Minneapolis homes have. I highly recommend anyone and everyone get this service done as it allows you either time to save or tells you you’ve got a problem before your house or lawn fills with sewage! The employees at Bonfe have been professional, considerate and cleanly! Highly recommend giving them chance to inspect your homes nooks and cranny’s.
My furnace went out overnight and within an hour of making an appointment Bonfe was at my house diagnosing the problem. Unfortunately, I needed a new furnace which is never fun, but Bonfe made the decision easy. They were able to come and install it the exact same day! My house is once again toasty warm in less than 24-hours. Very pleased with my service. Thanks!

Our technician, JC, was extremely helpful. He went above and beyond what was supposed to be a standard boiler inspection to end up spending much more time than anticipated to help us solve an electrical issue. He thoroughly explained what he was doing and how things worked to help us better understand our new home. Did the AC tune up at the start of summer and was told we had a crack in our heater in one of the elements that would require a significant fix or possibly a new furnace. They immediately sent out someone to quote us a new furnace price who strongly discouraged us from fixing the component and pushed us to replace the furnace. Given that it was the summer and our AC was functional we had another team come out to actually tune up our AC because that was never addressed. We then had three other bids from separate companies to come evaluate our heater and no problems were found by any of the other companies. Worth the money for other inspections but very disappointed in the attempt to upsell. Buyer beware!

We purchased the Bonfe service plan one year ago with the purchase of a new furnace. They came out today to service our AC. Within 5 minutes of arrival I was getting pitched on replacing current AC which has incidentally worked perfectly for years. I was told 4-6 times that Bonfe’s price on new AC would go up by over $2,000 next year so buy now. Plus I told the tech I did not want to put any money into just complete the routine service. Multiple times in the past several years I’ve had techs immediately pitch me on a replacement AC or Furnace. Last year I got the same pitch from Bonfe which resulted in spending $10k on a new furnace . In this case I got a $550 invoice for a service I did not request. I thought service people performed service(that we pay for monthly) but I really believe their job is to convince the consumer that they need to replace the current system with a new product. In the case of our old furnace the pitch went something like this … disassemble a significant part of the furnace, explain that it has died, speak in a somber voice, give the consumer a “hang dog” look while pointing to the disassembled furnace & explain sadly that I has to be replaced. Got a similar pitch on AC!

Tyler stopped out to take a look at my furnace that was red tagged due to a crack and potential leak of CO2. He has a wealth of experience, was very personable, friendly and transparent about the scope of work and pricing. Ultimately, I did not go with Bonfe, as I had shopped it with a number of different HVAC installers, but the choice was difficult and apart from an overall convenience Factor with CPE, Bonfe and Tyler would have nailed it. Definitely recommend them for fast and friendly service at a fair price.Update 3/1/23: I used Dean's for a furnace inspection and Jeff the HVAC inspector found a crack on my furnace that was overlooked by previous inspectors. Decent service, the techs are friendly and helpful. I wouldn’t sign up for the recurring monthly plan. It takes a couple months for them to come out and perform the tune-ups. Their pricing, from what I have found, is not the most competitive with other local HVAC and Plumbing shops.
Yearly inspection. Service provider went over everything to do with our plumbing including the handles on our toilets. We had a concern about a drip in the shower and he told us how to fix it ourselves. No high pressure sales!

Mark & Vinny were out and replaced our water heater today (which was purchased someplace else). They did a great job. The leak was discovered by Matilda at Bonfe’s a few days prior when she was out doing our annual A/C check. She happened to notice the leak and let us know. She got us set up that day with a new water heater & got us on the schedule asap. Thank you Mark, Vinny & Matilda. Great job!
