Response to Irene Smalls' review:

I have worked for Ms. Smalls for the past couple of years and never had any problems. Ms. Smalls called me regarding her existing water heater. She told me the existing T & P relief valve was dripping a little water. I installed a new T & P relief valve, checked for leaks, and nothing was leaking from the new T & P relief valve when I left. I explained to Ms. Smalls that if the T & P relief valve leaks again, we would have to install an expansion tank on the main cold water line and a pressure-reducing valve. I charged $100 for labor and parts. A week later, I received a call from Ms. Smalls stating that the T & P relief valve was dripping. I explained to her again that we would have to install the expansion tank and pressure-reducing valve. Ms. Smalls excused me of installing the T & P relief valve wrong. You can’t install a relief valve wrong because it goes straight into the tank and there wasn’t any water leaking. Ms. Smalls insisted that the T & P is defected. I told Ms. Smalls to call the Water and Sewer to check the water pressure coming into her house. I had called Watts Tech Support, which is the manufacturing of the T & P relief valve to verify the problem. Watts Tech Support explained to me the same thing that I explained to Ms. Smalls before. I called Ms. Smalls back to tell her what Watts Tech Support explained to me. Ms. Smalls kept insisting that I installed it wrong and the water pressure was 70 pounds, which is still to high and should be 60 to 65 pounds. Ms. Smalls didn’t want to hear anything that I had to say and she kept insulting my integrity as a professional plumber. Ms. Smalls said she was going to get another plumber and hung up on me. I have been in business for 23 years and never had any complaints or problems from my customers. As a professional plumber, I stand behind the quality of my work and resolve any issues that may occur with a customer.

I was given Bill's card through a friend who said she had a great experience using him. I called several Plumbers before calling Bill and they said they would schedule me in a few weeks or some didn't answer or return my call.

The first time I called I left Bill a message and within 20 minutes he returned my phone call, he schedule an appointment for the next day! He showed up on time fixed my garbage disposal, he was very quick, friendly, clean, and most importantly Honest!

The second Time I used bill was to install my dishwasher, I left a message he called me right back and even came the same day to install the unit! I had the same experience as the first time and he also showed me several of the steps he took to install the unit so if I ever needed to pull it out for any reason I would know what I was doing. He was very meticulous during the install and made sure everything fit and ran perfect before leaving.

I highly recommend him, and will be using him for any future plumbing work!

I contacted Bill O'Brien based on a recommendation on the neighborhood list serv. He is horrible! I had a leak near my hot water valve. I called him in. I was told it was a problem with the TP valve. He came and looked at it. He said the TP valve needed replacing. I paid him to replace the TP valve. Two weeks later I had the same leak. I called him to come back and take a look at it. He said the water pressure must be too high. I should call the Water and Sewer Department to get the water pressure tested. I called the city. Water and Sewer came out. They said the water pressure was 70 pounds which is not very high. I called him back to come out. Then he said I should call tech support for the company that makes the TP valve. I called them. They said the plumber should come out and trouble shoot. If there was a problem with the valve they would replace it at no charge. I called Billy O'Brien he refused to come out and stand by his work which I paid in full for less than 3 weeks ago. He said there must be some other problem. But, he refused to come out and take a look at the leak to see if there was some other problem. Don't use this guy. He has every excuse in the book for his poor plumbing work.

Billy just completed a 6-family building i bought on foreclosure ...I ended up doing the whole building over...Billy did all new piping and all new fixtures along with new boilers and hot water heaters...Billy was on time and was conscientious about the way the pipes were ran and all of the work was neat and clean...I would recommend him to all and anyone wants to see the work let me know...
