Disturbingly bad service. awful attitude, no result, overpriced

I contacted Boston Budget Plumbing the week of Thanksgiving because my Lochnivar Boiler system stopped working and water heater was leaking.
Tom arrived a few days later and was very knowledgable of the system and was able to repair the boiler system and replaced the water heater tank.

Tom was professional, pleasant and very honest. he informed me of my options and allowed me to pick the best one within my budget. He explained to me what caused the system to fail and what necessary steps to take in the future to avoid the same failures.

I would absolutely recommend Budget Plumbing to my family and friends. Great work Tom, I appreciate your patience and service.

Had a hose burst under my toilet. Billy arrived within 10 minutes, diagnosed the problem, retrieved the new part, and installed it. From disaster to happy customer took less than an hour. I highly recommend BBP.

I am also going to respond to one of the reviews left by Amelia Anthony.
Her and her boyfriend moved in into the unit that had an issue with gas leak that I was not aware of.
As a landlord ,that is one of the things that I do not want my tenants to deal with ,or experience .
Boston budget pluming showed up on the same day to fix all leaks indicated by the national grid. Unfortunately life isn't perfect ,and several hours later tenants notice that they can smell gas again. Tom send another one of his guys to come that night to take care of that.
Next day,they reported to smell more gas and proceeded to call another company.
They noticed that the leak was coming from behind the stove and were instructed by me to fix it.
Unfortunately nothing in life is perfect,but the fact that 3 different plumbing companies and the inspector made sure to come in ,on the moments notice to fix and inspect everything is something that I am thankful for . Especially in these times,when it is hard to find someone to do the job and to show up.
On the issue of permit,they didn't need the permit to fix any of the leaks . But they needed a permit to put in a vent (fan in a can),which they obtain . As I have gone over that with Amelia and her boyfriend. The day was set for that work to be done ,but unfortunately ,even after the last pluming company, called in by them , has explained to Amelia and her boyfriend that everything looks good and they are good to go until the vent is installed.
Unfortunately that didn't work for the two of you and you have decided to move out after only 12 days and have been refunded your rent.

This all being,I was so saddened that I wasn't able to give you a perfect place ,but at the end all the people that have shows up did the best they could and more to resolve the issue.

I called Boston Budget on Saturday looking for a plumber. I got an appointment for Monday between 2/4 no show no call. I called the company twice asking for a call back/update as of Tuesday no call no show. As first time customer I will never use. Wow

My main sewer line was clogged so bad in the basement that sewerage was coming out the washer drain.called boston Budget and even though I have a home warranty they were dragging there feet so I had Tom come in and cleared it out immediately. Great job...

Billy showed up on time and diagnosed the problem with my garbage disposal. Very knowledge and professional. Would definitely recommend using Boston budget plumbing.

I had my first boiler die after 11 years of owning a two-family house. Worse, it was in the middle of January leaving my tenant without heat. I had several plumbers/plumbing and heating companies come and look to access the damage and what replacing the system would entail. Most highlighted the issues I faced switching from oil to gas, and the dated piping my steam system involved. Some estimates were out of control and others suggested sticking with oil. Knowing I needed heat for the coming months, but not wanting to overspend put me in a tough position. Tom took a look at everything, and wrote me up an estimate immediately afterwards. I asked a few follow up questions regarding the possible issues switching to gas and he assured me that it was the right move, and included a warranty on all the work. We set up a date to install/remove old boiler in 3 days. Tim and his crew arrived on time the morning of install, and completed all of the work by dinner time. Everything was left neat, and clean and Tim even swapped out some vents on the radiators for me, and stuck around to make sure the system ran correctly. Additionally, the clanging in pipes which I had heard for years was corrected. Furthermore, both Tom and Tim contacted me in the days following install to check and make sure myself and my tenant were stratified with the systems performance. Highly recommend and will definitely be calling again if/when the other boiler needs replacement.

I called the service, and they've been extremely unhelpful. They told me they would call me back and did not. Then I had to call them back and they told me to send them the pictures of a sink. (which I did) and after that they called me and were almost insulting, suddenly telling me that they were annoyed that I sent them the messages. (I repeat they told me to send them the pictures of the sink + their voice-mail told me to send them a message when they are not picking up the phone). It literally disturbed me, everything was alright and suddenly the guy speaks in derogatory annoyed form. Then they just told me they wouldn't come.

Very pleased with the service provided by Tom. He is professional and courteous.He arrived at the time quoted.He went over what the problem was with a toilet ( a vey old one ) that was leaking and explained what my options might be. I decided to have a new toilet installed and the work was completed on the same day at an affordable price. I highly recommend Boston Budget Plumbing

We heard a dripping sound behind our sink and had Boston Budget Plumbing to come take a look because of their online ratings. They came and said they needed to open part of the wall and quoted $425 (which doesn't include fixing the leak or restoring the wall). We paid them $125 for their visit and didn't ask them to come back. Later, we found an opening ourselves behind the dishwasher that allowed us to look at the pipes. They charge $125 just to visit you and because $125 can be deducted from the cost of actual repair, you're lured into thinking that you should use them for the repair but they just end up costing you more money! We felt like we got ripped off and our insurer expressed disbelief that a company would quote $425 to remove a section of a wall.

Prompt, courteous, knowledgable, and a fair price. Couldn't have asked for a better resolve to a bad situation.

We were out on vacation when our water heater failed. Our neighbor was able to stop the water. We had to urgently call a bunch of plumbers. Tom at Boston budget was responsive and provided a competitive quote. He worked with our neighbor to come over quickly to assess the situation. We’ll be going to him for all our plumbing needs. I have a two year old and we didn’t know if we could get heat or hot water when we got back. Tom and his team were so reliable and communicative.

I had a pretty good experience once Tom came back from the first experiene the first tech I'm not going negative w my review service because the owner cares about making his customers return on that note I will use them again 🙂

Overall really impressed. Had a pipe burst that ran inside the wall, Billy was here within the hour, gave me a good price, nice respectful guy, did a great job, didn't leave any mess or nonsense.

Never felt like I was being taken for a ride over the price or service. I would recommend and will be calling them in the future for any other plumbing needs.

They're response time is very good and costumer service is good as well

This company is very expensive. They don't charge by the hour like other plumbers. Please shop around for other quotes or estimates

I’ve used Boston Budget 3 times now for 3 different services. Their technicians are professional and qualified, and in one situation when the person who came was unable to do the job, rather than lying and pretending to do it, he called the owner and had him come to do it while he watched and learned. Their pricing is also very reasonable. I highly recommend Boston Budget Plumbing!

We have been struggling with our heating system for several weeks now. After trying different companies we finally found Tom and his guys. They were very professional and showed up the same day we called him. He found the problem quickly and gave us a fair price on the parts (I looked up the parts myself before buying). Boston Budget Plumbing have been my plumbers for years for small jobs and big ones. Tom and his team know what they are doing and always give me a fair price. They stand behind their work. Tom installed a furnace which ended up needing repairs every year. It turned out to be a manufacturer's defect. He serviced the furnace and had the manufacturer come out several times to resolve the issue.

Called Tom at 10 pm on Tuesday evening for leaking hot water heater tank, new unit in place yesterday afternoon. Highly recommended!!

I recently had the pleasure of working with Boston Budget Plumbing for a plumbing issue in my home, and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed with their services. From start to finish, their communication, promptness, and professionalism were top-notch.

Thay was very good and fast, I would live to have them back when I have a problem.

I called BBP after noticing a water leak behind my washer machine. Ryan was able to come out and assess the situation within 24 hours and scheduled Tom to inspect and repair.

Tom came out two days later and was able to spot the source of the leak, and suggested i replace my entire washer/dryer stack. I declined, since the leak just appeared to be a $30 hose to have failed. Tom also suggested the HVAC unit nearby needed to be cleaned, to which I mentioned I have an HVAC service scheduled for two weeks later. After the weekend, Tom came back with a new hose to repair and tried charging me $900 after claiming to have serviced my HVAC (though he wouldn't tell me exactly what he did) and replaced gas hoses to the dryer which was absolutely unnecessary.

I've used many home professionals in the past and I've never felt like I've tried to get taken advantage of until now. Giving two stars since I assume the work was actually completed within a week, but to be charged $900 for a hose replacement is absolutely shameful. I strongly recommend using another local professional for plumbing issues.

Given the great reviews here - decided to give them a try. I had a new Delta kitchen faucet installed. The faucet worked for about 15 minutes after they left and the water pressure went way down. Called them to get someone out here to repair and they socked me with another $150 bill to replace the shut-offs which were almost frozen. The first plumber didn't bother to tell me that the shut-off valves were almost frozen and the wouldn't honor their warranty for work done, as if I should have known to tell them to replace the shut-offs. I hired a plumber to avoid mistakes. Now I have a new $300 faucet that has low water flow because the rubber from the old shut-offs is stuck in the lines. It cost me an additional $425 in labor costs on top of the faucet costs for something that should have been done right the first time.

Tom called me back within a half hour of doing the job and realized where there was a miscommunication. He will be coming by to finish the job. I will update again when/if the job is done correctly.

Tom was prompt but very disorganized. In addition his poor English resulted in me paying way too much money to have him cut a pipe and put a cap on it. A job that took less than 10 minutes.

I compared their prices with other plumbers and they were very reasonable. They came when they said they would. They did the job quickly and professionally. They were respectful and they cleaned up after themselves. Tom was easy to reach when I had some questions.

called the office around noon and they sent a plumber over within an hour. With the reasonable quote, the 40GAL electric water heater was installed in an hour or two. They provide one year labor/parts warranty and 10 yr manufacture warranty. Good service with reasonable price. I

Professional, courteous, fairly priced and they did a good job with my water heater replacement.

I almost don’t want to review them because they are that responsive and good - don’t want the secret out. I needed someone to do some work as the coronavirus was bearing down. I had already installed new sinks and was concerned that no one would come by and I would have no water as I needed a few pipes adjusted. I texted Tom based on some small previous work he did for me. He had two of his guys show up THAT DAY. I understand no one is perfect, and plumbing is expensive work nowadays, but the 1 star reviews are incomprehensible based on my experiences with him.

I called at 10:30 on a Friday night with a toilet clog. Billy was at my house an hour and a half later, and was extremely fair, diligent, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to work with in such a difficult situation. He even went the extra mile in making sure I had all the paperwork I needed to be reimbursed when we found the issue was with an association pipe. I will definitely be calling you guys again with future plumbing needs - thank you!

I had a great experience working with Boston Budget Plumbing, they sent two plumbers same day to deal with an emergency washing machine overflow, while they were not able to fix it they then sent their sister company to fix it the next day and THEN sent another set of men to help me push my stackable washing machine back in and ensure everything was working properly before they left. I really appreciated the extra effort and would use them again.

I lucked out that the day I had an appointment with them to get some shut offs installed my hot water tank failed. They replaced my tank and installed the shut offs all in the same afternoon. They were very professional. Don’t let the budget name put you off.

Tom called to let me know approx.what time he'd be here. Once he arrived, he let me know exactly what was going on and offered a price to do the work.
I let him know I thought it was too high, we negotiated a more reasonable amount. He then began his work repairing my clogged tub, and shower leak. Explained what was going on, showed me the replaced parts, cleaned up after. Excellent work, very professional and friendly demeanor.
