Pohai installed our Acs in the windows. After measuring, he went to purchase wood to use to enclose the Acs in the windows. Some of the wood he used was of inferior quality after paying over $500 for time, material and installation. The wood finished was not even painted for us. Poahi was friendly and on time.

Pricey compared to other quotes I received on Yelp, but I decided to go with Kaamaina Handymen based on the number of positive reviews they had. Having now worked with them I can agree they’re worth it.
Scheduling was easy. Set our job up via Yelp Messenger. I shared my email/address/phone number and got a confirmation via email. On the day of my job, I got a text at 7:45am that Jovan would arrive between 9-12pm. About a quarter to 9am I got another notification that he was on his way and also received his phone number so I could contact him directly if needed.
When Jovan arrived I showed him everything I needed done. I assumed he’d have to go get supplies/hardware from his truck or the store, but he came up with everything he needed (I listed what we’d be doing in my original message to kaamaina handymen, but I was still really impressed with their use of time- you are paying by hour). He got to work immediately even though his assistant was still on his way over. He actually did a really good job hanging shelves by himself. When both guys were there they everything done in good time.
We needed to hang shelves (books and quilts), pictures (either drywall or cement wall), and a few baby mobiles for our baby’s ceiling (cement) and the handymen had a good eye for precision and creativity- I didn’t have to nit-pick about anything. If they had a question they’d reach out, but it was spot on.
They cleaned up after themselves and were very pleasant to work with. Jovan tallied his hours and had me sign off on it. A few minutes later I received an email from kaamaina handymen to pay online- with an Apple Pay link which i always prefer. It was easy and I’m so pleased with our great our space looks.
Overall, a very professional experience. I will scheduled again for more work around the house :-)

Hired Kama'aina Handyman to fix my dryer duct. The owner, Gindi, was very responsive and I was able to book an appointment ASAP. Jovan arrived during the window that was stated when I booked my appointment and even helped to clean up the area he was working in. I was going to ask if I could get into the area to clean up before he put the appliance back but he offered. Professional, friendly service throughout the entire process. I am happy with the service. I had my AC installed and it was taken longer than we expected but overall everything went very well. There was an issue with painting but they came to fix it with no cost. I would continue doing business with Kama'aina Handyman for sure.
We needed a faucet replaced. Tom was professional through the whole process. He called and texted to schedule an appointment right away. His hours were flexible which really helped. He stayed in regular communication so we knew our appointment was still on. When he arrived, he was conversational while working simultaneously. He left his shoes at the door and showed respect for our home. He found a great replacement faucet & replaced all the necessary piping. The old stuff was all packed up neatly and provided to us. He offered a 1 year guarantee on all the work and can contact him directly. Over the past 6 years I have dealt with handymen, he has been the best by a mile. I am saving him in my phone because he's one of those pros whose demeanor & work earn your respect. Highly recommend.

Highly recommend Kama'aina Handyman. We needed handyman services for some pretty bad damage to our window ledges and many window screens replaced. Although we got lower quotes from other places, we ultimately went with Kama'aina Handyman because they are licensed, insured, and provide warranty for their work. We knew that we could trust them to do honest and good quality work. We really didn't want to work with anyone who might try to be shady/dishonest.
First of all, the person we spoke to on the phone initially to get a quote was super friendly and was very thorough in discussing the estimate. And super helpful in answering all our questions leading up to getting our work done.
We had Pohai and Wayne come to our house and they were very professional, transparent, great at communicating, and you could tell they knew what they're doing. Our total actually ended up being less than what we were quoted, so that was a really nice surprise. The end result was absolutely amazing and we had no regrets working with them.
If you are in need of handyman services and want the peace of mind knowing that you are getting honest and great quality work done, I would definitely recommend working with them!

The Air Conditioner in the main living room blew out over an apparent overload of plugs in the same outlet which was not running at a hundred percent to begin with. He let me know that he would be able t come over the same day and even called me twice t say he may be running a little late which must have been just a few minutes! He was very efficient and explained what had gone wrong and stated if he could find a part for the air conditioning plug he may be able to save me from purchasing a whole new air conditioner. Upon return he seemed as disappointed as I was and explained that if he had to order the part, it would be better to simply get a new air conditioner de to the expense. He fixed three outlets and my bathroom lights for an unbeleivable low cost. Knowledgable, nice and very trusting. How often can you find someone like that?

I needed a door replaced , toe pick repaired, and metal door sanded/painted. Jovan was very professional and respectful. He called to ask if he could come earlier than said time. Cleaned up after himself. Got the job done.
After emailing them initially for quote, it was fairly easy to send them pics of the things I needed fixing via text.
The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because response time from the company was slow. From initial contact, took over 2 weeks to respond w quote. I thought they didn't want the job when I didnt hear back. However, once they responded, they were able to start the job within a week. But definitely i needed to prompt them for responses such as start time.

The Kama'aina Handyman replaced damaged drywall after a wax seal leak from toilet. Additionally, he replaced the water fill line flange and the gasket between the tank and bowl. The handyman was congenial, professional, and did an expert job performing the drywall repair. The result looks great!

Joseph came by to do a bunch of various jobs around my home today. The main job that I needed him for however, was to remove a strip of popcorn ceiling in my window frame. Him and his partner did the job quickly, effectively, and with very high quality. They also brought their own vacuum and cleaned up the area very thoroughly.
Joseph even provided insights and recommendations for when I call them back next time. I was very impressed. Also, Joseph is good businessman. He indicated that some paint would have to dry and that he couldn't just stand around waiting for nothing. It just wouldn't be ethical to charge me for that. So he left, and the other guy took care of everything to make the best use of time.
As I mentioned, I'll need to hire them again for more work, and I definitely won't hesitate to do so. Not only did they do the job well, but they were friendly, professional and provided me with great recommendations.
Finally, being able to book them via email is why I reached out to them in the first place (this is my 2nd time booking work with them). Listing down available times as well as listing down a detailed list of requested jobs is so much easier on email than trying to talk it out on the phone. They also provide online invoicing. Really awesome.

Pohai and Apollo were professional and efficient. They patched a small hole in the drywall perfectly and you can't tell there was ever a problem. They also attached hanging wires to the back of 3 art pieces and hung a total of 8 pieces on the wall. This entire job took 3 hours. Looks great and fantastic job! Pohai and Derek came by to look at my sliding-mirror closet doors. They are old and hard to move. I was initially hoping for a repair versus complete replacement. I received a text saying they were in route. They arrived 20-30 minutes after. They removed the sliding doors on the track and offered a quick fix for a temporary solution or to do an estimate for a complete replacement. I decided to go with the replacement, so Pohai took measurements and said they'd get back to me with a quote. While they were here, I also had them take a look at my lanai screen doors for an opinion on what to do. The estimate was free, and I hope to work with them in the future to complete the repair.

The team at Kama'aina Handyman were great! They assisted me with our garbage disposal when something got jammed in it. Gindi was my first point of contact who was extremely helpful and scheduled for someone to take a look at the sink. Jovan was the handyman that showed up. They were very good at accommodating me & my time schedule. And in coming back to fix/check their work.
It cost me $767.00 (- $250) for front door adjustment and drywall patch repairs. The handyman they sent did not finish the drywall patch repairs - he mudded it over but did not sand it or paint it. I called Kamaaina and they told me they would have to charge me their hourly rate to finish a job they started. Are you kidding me? For drywall it costs what … $4 spackle and a $2 brush and I had the paint? Needless to say, I had to finish to fix all the drywall patches myself. I don't recommend their overpriced services. I’m happy to pay but they lost a loyal repeat customer.

On time, had Tom do a complicated job installing a doggy door and he did it with no hassle, Tom was professional and friendly through out. I usually try to do my own work, however I knew that the task was beyond my skill set. The fair labor price was well spent as the job was done correctly and professionally. The time went by as Tom was able to be friendly and converse however also knew when the time was needed to put in work and not using a minute wasted. I will without a doubt being hiring Kamaaina again for future projects.

I have used Kama’aina Handyman for various jobs with clients several times now, and have been so impressed with their service. Always timely, highly communicative, and fairly priced for their service. I recommend them to everyone who needs handy work now!
Very friendly staff. However, service (patio door and window repair) is on the expensive side. Comparable quality of service as to other handyman used that are much cheaper. Inefficient scheduling and also poor handoff communication when the work requires multiple days and different staffing members. For example, had a hard time scheduling follow-up service when first day's work was left partially unfinished. Also, what was purchased and what work was done was not communicated between the technicians from different days. Quite a bit of paid time spent on inter-technician debate and coordination. Overall a plus in terms of the personalities of the technicians, but could use better high-level management.

The scheduling desk was courteous, welcoming and professional. William (the nice young man that did the work at my house) was a miracle worker. I have had past negative experiences with other companies that charge by the hour dragging things out… But William was the fastest most efficient kind professional and knowledgeable handyman I’ve ever worked with (and I own several properties and I’ve worked with a lot of handyman both on the mainland and on the islands). A+ experience with Kama'aina Handyman. I had a bath tub spout replaced, which was leaking and the diverter would get stuck. Whole replacement took about 1 hr. I had Pohai; he was on-time, very quick and freindly. Their rates are a bit higher than other plumbing places, but the tradeoff is their service-side was really top shelf!
The first time we hired them, they were fabulous in terms of prompt arrival, service/skill and pricing. The 2nd time, they arrived on time, did the job minus one item, then charged 1.25x the amount of job #1 for 2.7x less work plus including the task they didn’t complete! Then they ignored emails and messages when I inquired about what feels like a bait “n” switch. It’s very, very disappointing.
We had our dishwasher installed with Kamaina and Joseph has come twice now to fix small maintenance items here and there that were caused by just daily use. Each time they were very responsive, on-time, friendly, professional and works with our schedule. I would recommend them to anybody. They insisted on not charging for the maintenance visits because we had originally had it installed with them, but we still tipped them something because they are just too nice!
I contacted Kamaaina and they scheduled the work within 2 days. Very responsive to all of my requests, and the technician was on time and did excellent work. I would add that we also checked with another vendor and their price was 5x higher. I highly recommend this company and would use them again without hesitation.

Joe repaired the wooden sliding doors on our older house. He was skilled and knowledgeable, and he was able to find parts to fix our doors.
I needed to have some bathroom fittings installed. I e-mailed Kama'aina Handyman and got a prompt response. We scheduled to do work on Wednesday. They texted me on Tuesday and said they had opening and I took that appointment.
The technician showed up on time, even parking where I directed in my text. He told me the costs and I showed him what I needed done. Two hours later all the bathroom fixtures were installed.
If I have more work to be done, I will be calling Kama'aina Handyman.

I needed sliding patio doors serviced because they weren’t sliding well. I thought I’d be replacing multiple rollers and I was pleasantly surprised to find that lubrication was all it took this time.
My only complaint was that the technician didn’t come in the allotted window of time and there was no call to advise he was running late. I called the office and they said he could come in the afternoon. We didn’t have plans for the the afternoon so it wasn’t a big deal.

Joe and Brad fixed a number if things in my house. They replaced flourescent lights for LEDs and changed the worn out wheels on my sliding screen door. The company is so accommodating and the guys so easy to work with. They were prompt, clean, and pleasant.
I had to unexpectedly leave a little earlier so I called Gindy at the office to see if I could book another time since I had to go out earlier than planned. She quickly arranged to have another person come to assist and finish sooner.

Joe Wood (no relation) and a trainee showed up on time. They were quick and I got to learn a little bit about changing out compression valves for water shutoff. Great experience overall and would use them again in a heartbeat.

I heard nothing but good stuff until I seen them in action and also received a quote for work to be done. From what I seen was slow and inexperienced workers with no sense of urgency. It took the guy with the afro a day to do one door..One worker was mopping around doing small remedial tasks instead of taking care of the priorities first. The other who was supposed to be the other guys supervisor was barely around and also took for ever to do one task. When we inquired to have work done on another building, which was work anyone could do. We received a quote that was more than double the cost of the first 2 buildings. Not to mention I haven't seen any of their employees on site for the last few day while their is a deadline to finish work.

Spent a lot of time talking to others on the phone. Worked very very slowly. Billed me for time from 11:20 to 4:20 even though he was only here from 11:30 to 4:10. Charged me $50 for supplies but didn’t itemize (the only supplies I didn’t provide were a few screws, and outlet, 1ft of wire, and some construction adhesive. Wasn’t careful about moving things around and scratched up a wall pretty bad. Left a live outlet completely hanging without a solution to instal it back in the wall. I think 3-stars is more than fair.

I did a project request on Yelp and of the 5 companies selected, Kama’aina Handyman replied back within 5 minutes. While the others slowly replied, I found that Kama’aina Handyman has the most reasonable quote. I was pleasantly surprised with the quick reply, especially since I sent out the request on a Saturday morning. I was even more surprised that we are able to confirm a day and time the very next day, a Sunday…and it was Labor Day weekend! Sunday morning came and Joe arrived within the timeframe given. Joe was able to remove my old AC (and disposed it for me, too!) and reinstall a new one. I originally thought it was a window AC, but it really was a “wall AC”. Fortunately, the new AC fit perfect and Joe was able to install the new one. Mahalo, Joe!
