I was beginning to consider a fairly major electrical project at my home but realized I knew nothing about whether it was necessary, recommended and what it entailed. Luckily I found General SF through Google Reviews and Yevgeny answered my call right away. Very nicely he began asking specific questions about what I had in mind, my expectations and motivations. Again, very diplomatically he gave me an assessment of the advantages and disadvantages of having the project done along with general cost estimates.

It is difficult to describe how valuable this honest, upfront, thorough information from a very knowledgeable professional was at this beginning stage. I could have spent months gathering and sifting through all the considerations involved. And I'm sure you can imagine how appreciative I was of Yevgeny's generous gift of time and care on my behalf - and behalf of a project well done.

I cannot thank him enough. We had fire issue in our kitchen. My father almost fired the home but luckily it was only stove. After this happened, we didn’t have electric obviously and we had hard time finding electrician but I found this guy and he guided me through the phone to put the power back in. He’s a life saver.

All around wonderful experience. I reached out to General SF to fix a TaskRabbit project gone wrong. Yevgeny was very communicative and direct when helping to assess the electrical problem I was calling him to fix. He came over and was generous with his time, explaining to me where the previous mistakes were made and how he could go about fixing them. Late Thursday night, I had plumbing emergency where I noticed leak under my kitchen sink. I have heard many good things about GeneralSF, and thought to give that company a call. Yevgeny came out on short notice. He explained what he is going to do in details and transparently. As Yevgeny worked to fix the leak, he was also patiently explaining what he was doing. Yevgeny was able to fix the leak in no time. Yevgeny was very knowledgeable, friendly and efficient in getting the job done and is a true professional. I am thoroughly impressed by professionalism and ability to fix the problems in the timely manner. I am going to go with GeneralSF from now on for all my plumbing needs.

Came from work and started the dinner.
Realized my kitchen sink does not drain.
Tried to find plumber to unclogged the sewer line in late hour.
Got a hold of GeneralSF, he asked a few questions and came in few hours.
He told me that he need to snake the pipe.
He explained step by step what he was planning to do. He did the work and everything was working again!
Before he leaves he told me that my over the sink light was not working (it was on and off for awhile), and if I want he can look what’s wrong with it. I had no idea he does electrical work as well. In short time he said the switch was not working properly and needed to be change.
And he fixed it too!
I was so happy I found him. Now he is number one on my list for plumbing and electrical problem solution.

Although he did not install the water heater, originally, he patiently explained my options. He squeezed time into his busy schedule to replace a faulty gas value and got the hot water working again. Yevgeny is a consummate professional - always on time, fixes the plumbing problems quickly, accurately and without a fuss, takes before/after pictures and always points out if anything else requires attention. Last week I attempted what looked like a simple DIY project of replacing a kitchen sink sprayer and got stuck - needed a specialized tool to unscrew the existing hose. Yevgeny was there in 45 minutes, the new sprayer was installed in another 15 minutes. He also notices that my P-trap wasn't securely assembled, so he disassembled the trap and re-installed the whole thing in the process. Thank you Yevgeny for another plumbing job well done!

Yevgeny was great in resolving my plumbing problem. I had sewage coming up in my garage every time we flushed the toilet. He came in on Sunday and right away found the place where it was clogged. He went into the pipe and after a while started pulling out stuff I couldn't imagine would end up in my sewage system. No wonder it was clogged.

Yevgeny is the man! No job too big or too small - so refreshing to have a fair, reasonably priced, unerringly honest and competent plumber/jack-of-all-trades. Highly recommend, super fast, incredibly helpful person.

Yevgeny has saved the day numerous times with small plumbing stuff, but the icing on the cake was the time a truck hit the power lines to my house in the middle of the night, ripped my electrical mast into the street, and drove off, leaving my house (and my tenants too!) without power. PG&E fixed the lines, but the rest was my responsibility. Yevgeny was on the spot first thing in the morning, quoted me thousands less than the few people who even deigned to return my call, and toiled madly through terrible rain to get power back to my place - it was a huge ordeal. And he helped me deal with the insurance people. If you have a problem - call Yevgeny, he's the best, there's a reason his ratings are so high.

I got a call from my tenant that the shower faucet got broken and water was running into the bathtub. I could not turn off the water in the whole building, because there were other tenants in the building and they were using bathrooms and were cooking etc. These were evening hours when everyone is at home. At the same time none of the plumbers I called was available to come right away to help. The money was really flushing down the drain. I could not wait until next morning. I was under tremendous stress: my utility bill was getting bigger every moment. This is where GeneralSF comes into the picture. Yevgeny answered my call and came within 15 minutes. He disassembled the shower faucet and stopped the water from running. He identified the broken part. Next day first thing in the morning he purchased this part in the store and installed it. I am impressed with Yevgeny's calm professionalism and quality of his work.

I had the opportunity to meet with Yevgeny from General SF, one of the principals of the company, and he was able to inspect my home in San Francisco. The work done by Yevgeny in the inspection process was thorough, customer-service oriented, and knowledgeable with respect to construction and San Francisco city guidelines and regulations.

The first thing that is important is the customer-service orientation that was demonstrated by Yevgeny. He made me feel comfortable and like I was a valued customer from the moment that we met. As he maintained this relationship with me, he was able to go systematically through the home and knowledgably point out anything that needed to be done to improve on the home in certain areas. Throughout this process, he made me feel comfortable, appreciated, and valued as an individual.

The knowledge that he demonstrated was in all areas of general contracting. The knowledge was appreciated and gave me a great deal of confidence in going forward with those improvements that were necessary to make sure that the home was satisfactorily taken care of and cared for.

The communication skills demonstrated by Yevgeny were also something that was very impressive. In addition to being able to communicate clearly and precisely on any questions that were asked, he always had a tone that made me feel that my questions were reasonable and that he wanted to be helpful in answering them. That ability to communicate and answer questions exactly on point and then respond only to those things that are asked for is something that I greatly appreciated in his communication skills and style.

Again, I want to thank you for the opportunity of dealing with such an outstanding person as Yevgeny Dubinsky. In over 40 years, I have rarely found anyone with the knowledge, skill, and customer-service orientation that this outstanding individual has as he works for his company, General SF. What you want in a plumber is someone to show up fast (you've probably got a clogged drain or burst pipe), quickly diagnose and solve the problem, and charge you a fair rate. Yevgeny and General SF provide all that!

30 minutes after I called him about an overflowing vent attached to the dishwasher he was at the house sleuthing around to find the problem. After flushing out this drain and cleaning out that pipe he solved the problem and we could rejoice in the knowledge we'd no longer be washing dishes by hand.

And did I mention this all happened before lunch and for a responsible price. Feels good to know I've got a reliable plumber on speed dial.

Yevgeny is simply the best and most honest, ethical and hard working contractor you can ever find in the Bay Area. Call him! You won't regret.
