The first time we called them to check on our heater, they told us the system was very old and needed to be replaced. The second time we call them to check on our cooling unit, they also tell us it was very old and needed to be replaced. We had them replace both the heater and the cooling unit. For a couple of years both units were running fine, and Avis would come every six month to check them. Third year, it was an extremely hot day, and the AC seemed not to be cooling enough. So I called them. They promised they would come the same day. They call around 5 pm to say that they are running late, and would have to delay us to the next day. They come around 4 pm the next day, it was triple digit day. At first the technician denies completely that they are the ones who installed the cooling unit. He even calls the office, and the lady there denies it as well. it was not until I had to go through my papers to show him the invoice that he admitted it, and the lady in the office called to apologize that they are having some trouble in their documentation because they are moving from paper to electronic system. After that the technician said that he needed to replace the capacitor in the cooling unit, and since the system is no longer under warrantee, he will charge me $ 750 to replace the capacitor !!!!. After a long negotiation, he agreed to reduce it to $500, and called the lady in the office to tell her that. She told him to leave right away and not touch anything, as this discount is not authorized. I was very frustrated because it was extremely hot. So I went online, found another company. The gentleman told me that the capacitor costs$ 25. He would charge me $95 total to replace it for me. He came the next day, and did a great job. Will never deal with this company any more ever.!!!

I was hesitant to have Avis come out to provide service as I read their reviews. I did however give them a shot as they said they were under new management. Dave was the technician that provided the service. Overall, I thought it was good service at an affordable price.
Finding quality, upfront, honest service can be challenging. Avis heating and air conditioning is a precious find. We needed ac service and were getting ready to install a new unit. Avis advertised a filter clean and we told them about our poorly operating ac system. The tech and manager, Patrick Kelley came out to diagnose. They offered a solution and a way to keep the existing units, which equated to one eighth of the price of the major brand co that had given an estimate 2 weeks earler. The manager could sense my hesitation and offered a money back guarantee if the solution did not solve the problem. It did, this company is beyond GREAT!!!

On one of the warmer days last week, and in preparation for the upcoming summer months, I turned on my ac to cool my house only to find it wasn't working! Based on a recommendation of a family member, I called Avis Home Solutions, and I'm very glad I did. The technician arrived on time for my appointment, and was very respectful of my home. During his inspection of my unit, he quickly identified an issue, and called in an additional technician to confirm his diagnosis. With my thoughts of a dead unit spinning in my mind ( our equipment is over 13 years old), and an expensive bill to come, I was relieved to find out my repair consisted of fixing a small leak, and a recharging the Refrigerant. I was pleasantly surprised to see a very reasonable bill, and glad to have such a compassionate repair technician to interact with. My concern over the age of our equipment was absolved when the technician indicated when he told me it is working very efficiency, and quietly, and in good working order. In addition to the repair, without any mention from me, he also identified an airflow issue that has plagued 2 rooms in my house since we moved in 4 years ago. He recommended corrections to our ductwork, and replacing my plenum, I can't wait for the summer to come so we can use our more efficient, and operational unit!

I have been dealing with this company for approximately two years. Since I moved into my townhome, the air-conditioner unit has not worked properly. I have complained over and over and somehow they find nothing wrong with the unit. I am paying approximately $15 a month for a maintenance program with them. I am extremely upset with this company. They don’t even have the decency to have an emergency number when they’re closed. When I have left Messages, They did not return the call. I am still waiting on a callback from approximately a week or two ago.This is totally unacceptable when you’re paying a monthly fee. Now it’s starting to get to into the hotter part of the summer and my air-conditioner is not working. I am extremely upset with this company and would not advise anyone to deal with them if you don’t have to!

I have been a customer for 14 years on there plan service. I made an appointment a month in advanced, confirmed my appointment, no show after 4 hours. I called and the receptionist told me I didn’t respond to a text the day before which I didn’t receive even though I confirmed the appointment over the phone with a human being so she canceled it!! Then told me I had to wait another month in the middle of the summer for AC Maintenance.
After being a “valued customer” for years and paying for there plan service I guess that is what they mean by value there is none.
Installer did a great job. Quick and clean. The only issue is that he pointed out a future possible leak point due to rust AFTER he filled the coolant. Now I have a failure point that could have been fixed.
So let me start by saying these gentlemen are very professional and knowledgeable. I had another company come out previous to Avis and they were pressuring me to buy as soon as they walked in my door. Enrique and another gentleman came in and asked me about the issues I was having with my heater and inspected my home and gave me a good diagnostic to my issue. I decided to go with a new heater and was able to do a payment plan with them as well. I am very satisfied with the there service. Will definitely be recommending them to other folks.

These people are rude, unyielding inconsiderate and incessant. They violate the do not call list by calling multiple times a week AND WILL NOT STOP CALLING!!!!!!!!!!! They are the Terminators of home repair. They are ruthless and cannot be talked to or bargained with. They do not take “No” for an answer, Ever! They will call you with their dying breath, Don’t go anywhere near this company or you will be relentlessly pursued for business. They probably make fake IRS calls in their spare time.

I have been waiting for the maintenance tech since just after 10 for an appointment between 11 & 2. Apparently someone called at 1:30 *once* while I was likely doing laundry because it was the only time I have been out of ear-shot of the phone. I checked messages just now, around 2:20, because I hadn't heard anything and had one message asking me to only to call them. That's it, just call them. I figured they were letting me know that the guy was running late (because that is what normally happens with every house service, right?). The person I spoke to said they could no longer send someone today because it was outside of my appt window and if they get no answer with that *one* call that's it they don't come. Are you kidding me right now? I'll bet if they wanted the $$ for a repair service they'd show up loooong after my appt expecting me to be there. Extremely unhappy right now, especially since I requested a make-up appt in the morning on a day when I am available and they would not accommodate it.

They took service to a new height. I Owen and rent properties throughout GTA and Oakville. I have used AVIS’s services many times. I can attest to their dedication and unrestricted availability. Fast, friendly and trusted service at an affordable price. I am away on business most of the year and rely heavily on vendors who deliver. These guys deliver! Apart from prompt/friendly service, I particularly liked the feedback I get from my tenants who had tons of positive comments. AVIS followed up with my tenants to insure their satisfaction and safety. In many ways AVIS have taken the load off of my shoulders. Exceptional!!!

I am seriously considering contacting the District Attorney to report this unscrupulous and bullying company. I am going to write a more in-depth review (or edit this one), but this is to warn people to stay away from this company. Long story short is that my heater was working when the company sent a service person out for a yearly check (they called me to schedule, I did not reach out to them, as my furnace was operating fine). After trying to sell me air conditioning and putting in a new filter, the service person left without leaving me any paperwork or record of the visit. After he left, the furnace stopped working completely. I called and they sent back out the same service person. He said that he told me the furnace was not working properly. When I challenged him, he got very defensive, almost aggressive. I told him to leave, but he lingered near the front door, so I had to tell again to leave again. After sending out another service person, who said the motherboard of the furnace was broken, I spoke with Leo, who told me that he would replace the motherboard at cost. I deferred, but when my wife called to follow up, Leo told her that I was a liar and that his service person, Chris, had taped me and that he had heard the whole conversation. This is a violation of state law, a criminal offense, as it was not done with my permission. I called Leo and emailed him to ask for a copy of the tape and of the service call record. Nothing after two days, and I don't expect anything. Leo is by his own admission is a person who doesn't follow the law, so why would he have any business ethic. Stay away from this gang.
Took out a 5 year maintenance agreement. 6 months into agreement made a service call. Technician did not like my attitude and refused to do service. In conversation with supervisor, he suggested we cancel the contract and refund my money. That was 11 months ago. Numerous phone calls and written demand letter for my refund, still no response. Preparing to file law suit in small claims court to receive my refund. Dishonest and try to run the price up for unnecessary work. Stay away!

I just want justify my complaint with this company, Avis Heating and Air, my air conditioning system was putting out warm air, so I proceeded to call Avis and ask for a service with their so called $59.99 special!!
They came out and told me my system was flat, the freon was completely dissipated. They proceeded to explain I could refill the system if I bought their service maintenance plan for $379.00, at $11.00 a month or I could have the system recharged for $419.00. They told me I had a leak in my system and if I wanted to do a leak teat it would cost $2,100.00. So they neglected to inform me of my options as a trustworthy company should have done not telling me that if the system was completely flat that I would basically be throwing my money away because it was obviously a major leak, so I could make a justified decision with my options, basically with the idea I would let them perform a $2,100.00 leak test. Well as it was I let them refill my system with the hopes that it would be ok for the rest of the season, the system was flat the next morning!!!! I just wasted $419.00 for nothing, I called them the next day and tried to convey to them that I was mislead and asked for a partial refund. They completely were disrespectful to my my situation, only stating that I signed an as is warranty and they would not honor my request of only a partial refund. I find this very disturbing and disrespectful to their customer as I stated before they are only concerned about their bottom line and NOT their customers!! Horrible customer service!!!!!!
Our AC went out, I called in the evening and they were able to send someone the next day. The technician Bernie was very professional, diagnosed and showed exactly where the problem was and why it wasn’t working.
EDIT: I changed my review to two stars because the customer service team will not stop calling me one or twice a week, every week, no matter how many times I tell them to take me off the call list. Sometimes they’ll stop and then the calls start again. I will be reporting the spam calls to the FTC as I am absolutely sick of them calling.

A service rep named Aaron conducted my planned service check today . He was so thorough in his inspection and explained everything very patiently to me. We have had minor repairs in the past, and although we will eventually need a new unit, it is working pretty efficiently right now because we don't use our a/c very often. He was honest and fair and pleasant and I will continue to refer Avis to my friends & neighbors..
Dave Gambling was very explicit in his explanations regarding what was going on with our AC and heating equipment. A very pleasant and knowledgeable man who actually came earlier than expected: no waiting around !!! Yea!
I had an appoint for an air conditioner service. Enrique was my technician and he and his partner did a great job! They serviced my unit and cleaned my filters for me. I have an older unit, but I am not in the market for a new one at this time. There was no pressure to try to get me to buy a new unit and I appreciate that. Too many times I have had technicians try to pressure me into a sale.

Chris, the responding technician was rude and walked out of my house after reviewing the invoices for my heater purchase where he proceeded to tell me that I had purchased an “under sized” unit for my home!
When asked if he would perform the job Avis was contacted to perform, check the system for proper operation, he turned and walked out.
I called the office to request another technician, I was told that a “manager” would contact me on the following Monday to follow up on my experience.

Worst service ever!!
These guys are just annoying. First the sales rep keeps insisting to allow them to perform a service call and does not remember the history of their visits, then the techs come out but they don't want to do anything even though I'm planned to stay at home to give them access to the unit. I get responses like we want the user to see what we're doing. Huge waste of time!
I had a 15 year old system that I already knew was installed incorrectly. Tim the technician from Avis heating and air came out to go be me an estimate on what I needed. I do want to commend him because I knew all the problems and before telling him he explained exactly what the problems were. I can honestly say because of the guarantees and financing they gave me I'm very satisfied and now comfortable in my home. I appreciate it Tim at Avis heating and air.

Avis home Solutions has been coming to my house and serving me for the past 20 years and days like today when there’s so much companies out there you never know who’s going to come to your home Avis has maintained their professionalism And peace of mind of knowing who’s coming to my house me being a senior citizen it is extremely tough to have someone coming to your home that you can trust and maybe doing the right thing, with a company like Avis home solutions they have been able to help me out throughout the years with numerous projects inside my home they’ve even come a few times to help me simply turn on my thermostat I am not to good With all these high-tech things ! my last visit I had a technician by the name of victor he was very professional very polite he wore shoe covers gloves and a mask in my home Made me feel very safe in my own home my heater had been giving me issues for a few years Victor did a thorough inspection inside my house he even crawled inside of my attic after discovering that I had a issue in my attic He made the adjustments and who would’ve thought because of an issue in the attic I was losing a lot of air he help me make an educated decision he even explained all the findings to my brother over the phone they came the same day did the work and I had hot air by dinner time Victor came the next day to make sure that everything that was promised was accomplished I am thankful that they are still companies like Avis home solutions out there that treat me like an actual person and not like a number with times changing it’s good to know that a company like Avis home solutions. Still exist to this day I will continue using them for any home projects and I have recommended many of my friends who had the same exact experience as myself thank you Avis keep up the great work !

My first encounterwas pretty good . Hoevver, after my 4th encounter with the company I'm leaning towards simply saying that no matter what you call them for, even a simple summer AC tune up that they called and solicited, they will inherently find a HUGE problem that will keep them from doing what they were called out to do in the first place and then that leads into a convenient sales pitch and they try to set up follow-up meetings with sales people. It seems suspicious that with every visit they find a new problem that should have been fixed a long time ago but the previous 3 technicians they sent in prior visits never saw. I really wanted to trust them but at this point, if they are supposed to come and perform a simple filter cleaning but try to instead sell me a new system I have to throw my hands up and say that I give up.

I have worked in customer service through out my career and I was really impressed by everyone at Avis Home Solutions. My AC died one evening in the middle of September and called them the first thing the next morning. Even though they very busy, Cruz managed to get someone look at it within three hours of my call. Mike clearly explained why my old AC could not be fixed and was straight forward about all my options for for purchasing and financing a new unit. Enrique, who prepared for the delivery of the new AC and Eddie and Rosario who installed it were all efficient, quick and clean. I'm especially grateful to Eddie and Rosario who finished the installation that evening. Everyone I had contact with at Avis was friendly and courteous and treated me with respect.
Andres spent at least an hour here for my yearly furnace check and maintenance. He was extremely helpful and informative. He even showed me what filters to buy online for the future and he left me a new filter for me to use next time I have to replace my filter. I asked him if you clean air ducts and he said you replace them because trying to clean them may cause them to tear. He then proceeded to check all my air ducts and he took pictures of them to show to his boss to get an estimate of what it would cost to replace them. I feel he went above and beyond what I expected and he was so polite. I really appreciate his efforts .

Avis came to my home for a routine maintenance on my 2 year old AC. They showed me a fake picture of collapsed ducting telling me it was mine. It wasn’t. They talked me into re-ducting the whole house to provide airflow in the back bedroom. They only installed 30% of the ducting and none to the back of the house or back bedroom. The also conned me into signing a line on Mike’s phone. I was led to believe it was their 1page contract. Turned out it was a 16 page loan document for a 30 year loan at 17.99% that I said I didn’t want and never saw nor had a chance to read before I signed. No one with great credit would sign such a thing. Beware of Avis.
Brian was very quick and straightforward. He was honest and recommended some affordable upgrades. Would gladly recommend him and Avis!
Jorge Cardenas first contacted us in February 2020 asking if we needed maintenance on our HVAC system. We decided that would be a good idea, and Jorge scheduled a service appointment for us. As soon as the company's technician walked through the door he realized we had a BIG problem. Turns out rats had invaded our attic, had chewed holes through the ductwork, and were living INSIDE our HVAC ducting! AHHHH!!!!! After much discussion with additional company personnel, we settled upon the following services, to be performed as expeditiously as possible: removal of the entire existing HVAC system (i.e., heater, blower, exchanger, exterior A/C unit, ducting, air registers, thermostat; this work began THAT SAME DAY!); removal of all existing attic insulation; rat proofing and sanitizing the attic; installation of an entire new HVAC system (i.e., heater, blower, exchanger, exterior A/C unit, ducting, air registers, thermostat); and installation of new blown in attic insulation. When evidence of rats was discovered after installation of all the new stuff, they sent the rat proofer back to take care of the issue (the initial rat proofing missed the spot where the line from the exterior A/C unit enters the attic). We were VERY relieved that we were no longer breathing rat infused air! And we LOVE our Nest thermostat and the associated Nest app.
Due to the critical nature of the situation (i.e., I wanted those rats out of my ducts NOW!!!), we did not do any comparison shopping to see if we could get a better price with a different company. Should we have obtained job estimates from other companies? Yes, probably. But did I want to take the time to do so? NO. GET RID OF THOSE RATS NOW! Did we get a much better HVAC system than we would have purchased under normal circumstances? Definitely!
Here are a few negatives we encountered during this experience:
1. We should have specified that we wanted cellulose rather than fiberglass for the blown-in attic insulation. Hopefully we will never need to upgrade our ethernet cabling that is currently in the attic and will have no reason to ever enter our attic.
2. Workers often arrived up to 30 minutes EARLIER than our scheduled appointment time. When you are just waking up or stepping into the shower first thing in the morning it's a bit difficult to answer the door. Even when I anticipated the workers would likely arrive early, they arrived even earlier than that!
3. While we did feel a bit of an up-sell pressure to purchase a specific A/C unit, it is THE BEST A/C unit we've ever had and it is sure keeping us cool in this hot weather! Our EPA certified HVAC Technician son was duly impressed with our new system. We like to joke that it's our Mercedes Benz HVAC system (we are typically Honda/Toyota people).
4. I got the impression the Green Sky financing program (i.e., no payments, no interest if paid in full within two years) we took advantage of added approximately 8% to our cost. Looking back, we probably should have simply raided the cash in our after tax brokerage account (we had sufficient funds to do so); but since I was enamored of using other people's money, I forgot to do the math before making our purchase financing decision. *SIGH* Guess breathing all that rat infused air rattled my brain.

Avis Heating and Air in Anaheim performed a complete ductwork abatement and replacement. The need for this was unknown to me at the time and prompted me to question the necessity. However Mr. John Moses of Avis heating and air explained and more importantly showed clearly what was leaking through the air ventilation system. He was kind enough to show me exactly what was going on with our system and what was causing increased energy costs and possible and likely health concerns. We had a complete replacement of our ductwork including removal of asbestos ductwork. Unlike most contractors, each person from Avis heating and air that worked on the replacement answered every question and was kind about it. It is been a couple weeks since the replacement and interestingly the thing I noticed is there is much less dust and dirt in the house which was apparently caused by the leaking ductwork. Avis heating and air provided excellent value and timely completion of their work. On top of that he gave me a great price.
We were so please with Brian Penilla. The service provide was great, polite, knowledgeable and very thorough explaining the service at each step. My wife and I were very impress with his service. A GREAT Technician

Rude employees. One of their employees did not feel water dripping into the furnace was worth noticing. Then, they replaced just about every part in the furnace at vastly inflated prices. Then they told me I needed a new furnace and refused to honor their maintenance contract unless I paid them thousands of dollars.
I've used Avis twice yearly for 10 years for check ups/maintenance, and they've always been great. Yesterday our HVAC system stopped working, the ops Mgr was here 45-min after I called and today they replaced the system with a Carrier Infinity. Both workers were very nice and clean. They were friendly and professional. When the lead arrived around 10:30 am, I asked for a completion estimate and he said 4-4:30 pm, and they finished at 4:20 pm! Thank you guys and thank you Avis. Keep up the good work.
I've used them 2x now and they are very professional, knowledgeable on HVAC and most important fair. I always appreciate when there isnt a underlying motive to upsell, which there wasnt. When the time comes and I do need a major upgrade they've proven to be honest and credible, therefore will definitely get my business

Bernie, the technician, did a very thorough job of checking everything out. He even went in the attic to make sure our unit was running without issues. He suggested future procedures to make our air quality even better.
Run! Don't even get a quote. I have been HAUNTED by Pat for 2 years. We selected my neighbors vendor for a routine cleaning. I told this to Pat MANY MANY MANY times, and he calls ALL THE TIME! I have asked him not to call but he continues. The best thing is when I tell him to never call me again, I am usually around people so I get to tell everyone in earshot to NEVER USE AVIS HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING!

Not all repairs go as planned, but it's good to work with a company that sees it through to the end to make things right. Thanks to Leo for making sure his crew did everything possible to fix the problem as quickly as possible.
My family has been a customer of Avis Home Solutions for over 15 years; they have helped me out of more jams than I can count on both hands! The entire team is top-notch, starting with the Smiths that own the company. Laura is the office manager and always treats my calls as if they were the most important of her day, and she always seems to be in the office! The service teams of technicians, installation guys and supervisors are extremely professional and have great respect for my home's cleanliness during and after their calls and visits. I would recommend Avis to anyone in need of heating, AC, water heaters, duct work, ventilation of all sorts... Like I said, I've had numerous occasions to use them!

Air conditioner compressor went bad and started leaking oil. Still under manufacturing warranty and they will not replace or return our phone calls. Also had them service it last year. Only 6 years old and manufacturer warranty is 10. Also they quoted 12k to replace. This company is a joke. Do not use them

*** Do NOT use this company. They will LIE TO YOU ** Was told that I needed a evaporator coil and was quoted over $5,000. Fortunately, went online and noticed that a standard coil was about half of that. Had another company come out and said that the coil was fine and did not need to be replaced and validated that the system was generating the cold air. To make matters worse, Avis purposely removed the sticker from the attic unit and I know that Avis did this because there is dust around the rest of the unit. I was told this is a trick so that other companies cannot diagnosis

David was the technician that came to give me a service tune-up to my air conditioner-furnace He explained what he did and I felt very confident what he had to say. I find him to be very professional and knowledgeable with 43 years of experience. What I mostly found out about David is that he was very trustworthy. Something I have not found with other service professional technicians

Enrique and Mike showed up on time and did a complete survey of my existing system. Mike gave me 3 options on how they can add A/C to our house. We selected to replace our existing furnace with a new high efficiency Lennox unit and matching A/C unit. By the time we finished signing the work order, the installation crew was on their way. Rosario arrived about 1 and started removing the old furnace. By 6 they had set the new furnace in place, set the A/C unit outside, run the copper lines through the wall and into the attic and run the power line from the panel to the A/C unit. The next morning, Rosario and Eddie completed the installation and we had heat and air conditioning by 5 o'clock. Their work was professional, efficient and thorough. I've worked as a construction manager for most of my career, and these guys are GOOD. I will continue to use Avis for my no-worry service for years to come.

I used them since 2013. On every occasion technician claims there is no issue. last check done on October 2014. and quoted perfect condition.
Now after only four month technician claims unit is very OLD !!! and need to be replaced.
he didn't even bother to troubleshoot circuit board to point to real issue
it looks like that $60 is donation they collect just to touch the unit.
Jaky who claimed is in charge is very rude and up to start a fight. instead of addressing issue simply says we can not please everyone.
Jacky check your Yelp barley even one start. I am sure people even don't bother to give you a HATE it rating. this place is a total shame. customer beware.
